I would absolutely recommend this garage to anyone looking for an honest, reasonably priced garage. We live in Augusta but our son's car broke down in Columbia and after a very stressful couple of days we found this shop. April in the front office went far above and beyond to make the process as painless as possible and our son's car is now running and the price was very reasonable. I want to shout out how wonderful April was and how well they took care of our issue. Thank you guys!

I've taken 2 cars here to have my brakes done. They've done a great job on both cars. They look your car over before hand and tell you what may need fixing but they don't press you like other ships.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

I am writing another review for my overall experience and for work done. I was accommodated by Alex on a Sunday, a day where they are closed, and he allowed me to drop off my car. A couple of days later I went and picked up my car, I did have frustration over the diagnostic fee and how not all of the work was not initially found but from my understanding that can happen and the shop does need to be paid for the work they did to discover what was wrong with my car. I am unsure how they had my mother's name attached to the quote for repairs in their system and no one has been able to educate me on how that happened, but if the shop requests it, I can show the receipt I have in my posession for the credit card I used with my name on it that I used to pay for the repairs for my car that is in my name. 30 days later after picking up my car, my car started leaking again. I reached out to Alex, no response. This week I have found out the second leak they replaced had to be replaced again. The two oil lines I paid MyMechanic to repair have just been replaced again. As nice as Alex was the fact that I had to repay for the same work to be done again is frustrating and has cost me a lot of time and money. I am also frustrated by the owners berrating response to a previous review. I apparently had no interaction with owner since he addressed me as "sir" and I am not a sir, two he completely ignored my frustraion I expressed of having work re-done that their shop did. Due the response of the owner, that I suggest you read, and my experieince of paying twice for the same work I would suggest another shop that at the very least has a owner that cares about customer service.

Edit: After the response I received from the owner I have to reduce the rating. It was condescending and rude and did not address the fact that I paid for a service to be done and had to go to another shop to get the exact same work done. My initial review did appreciate the fact that Alex accommodated me, as I said prior I am grateful and I also stated I appreciated that he did not charge me for the full labor. No, I do not know how diagnostics work you are right, that is something that could have been simply explained. I know you do not have a record of me specifically because somehow your shop had my mothers name and address attached to the file, neither of which I provided. When I spoke to Alex, I gave my name and number on paper. However you all, suspiciously, got my mothers name and her home address on the file instead of mine. The car is not in her name, it is in mine so others should add that as a reason not to use the shop considering they get your personal information without your approval or permission. As you stated I came on a Sunday apparently which concludes you never even had an interaction with me and instead of addressing the fact that I paid for work that had to be redone, you decided to focus on diagnostic work. I understand the process now that you explained it to me, though in an unprofessional manner. But nonetheless, I paid for the repair of two oil leaks and they leaked again 30 days later. I am better off at another shop you are right and so are many others if your attitude is to berate your customers instead of providing professional communication and not taking accountability when something goes wrong. If I can take accountability for my ignorance regarding diagnostic work you should be able to take accountability for inadequate repairs.I was on a trip from Atlanta and my car was leaking oil. Alex met me in his lot on a Sunday afternoon, the leak was terrible and he said he would be able to look it at the next day. I was grateful and he seemed genuine. They did consistently communicate and I received my quote same day, approved it and kept it going. The next day they said they found another leak which essentially doubled the cost. Now with a $155 diagnostic fee you should be able to find everything and give the customer a complete diagnosis or at least remove the fee, unfortunately that did not happen to me and he had already started working on my car, so I really did not have a choice. I am grateful that he cut the labor cost in half of the 2nd, it made me feel better. I approved the repair, got the update same day my car was finished and drove back to south carolina next day to pick my car back up. All seemed good until I got there and was told it was an extra $30 for using a credit card. Now I understand credit cards charge fees for merchants to use them but if I am going to be responsible for covering that fee I would love for that to be communicated to me prior to a 3 hour drive. It may be posted on the desk somewhere, I did not see it and I also handed my keys over on a Sunday, when they are closed so there was no way for me to know. Alex followed up with me next day about my car and I let him know there was still a burning smell. No reply. It was exactly 30 days later when my car started leaking oil again. I texted Alex. No reply. It did not make sense to invest more time or money in this shop so I went to my local mechanic in Atlanta. Low and behold I am given the same exact diagnosis that MyMechanic gave me and I have to have the same part and labor done that MyMechanic said they did. I paid for the same exact work because it apparently was not done, or done well the first time. I regret going to the shop as it cost me hundreds of dollars between having the repeat repairs and a bad diagnostic from them. I stumbled on this shop at the recommendation of Mavis but I wish I went with my gut and towed it home for the extra tow fee of $100. I have to give them 2 stars because Alex did try to help me out but at the end of the day I had to have to work done over again.

This was hands down the best customer service we have experienced in a long time! We hit some scrap metal on the 77N, which ended up severing our brake line. These guys did everything they could to get us back on the road as soon as possible and were friendly and caring! We would recommend this shop to anyone! Thank you guys again so much!!

First of all, these are incredibly nice people. The technician and the lady at the front desk are super friendly. My alternator died on I26 on a Friday. I live about 2 hours away. Had to leave it all weekend and come back which is no fault of the shop. On Friday afternoon, I had it towed to the shop and told the tech that it was the alternator. He confirmed with a jump box and volt meter in about 2 mins. This is a good shop that does quality work. I was overcharged a little, but the Owner called me and fixed it before I even got home.Service: Electrical

My car broke down right in front of the hotel we were staying at. Frank took my call and immediately sprung into action. A tow truck arrived about 15 min after our call. The next day my car was fixed and runs better than ever.They were truly a life saver and now my son has a car for the summer that is reliable. The best mechanic in SC!Service: Engine repair

This place most definitely deserves 5 stars and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, I was broken down just down the street and Alex gave me a free tow to the shop! Then also allowed me to use the tools I didn t have to repair my own vehicle and was truly an amazing and kind person who treated a stranger like a friend!!

Had service done to my Nissan here, brought my own alternator and had a few issues with the electrical. But the alternator is working. The thing I m upset about is that they forgot to put my oil dipstick back, so oil was spraying everywhere and the coolant was low, had to add a gallon to it. I just thought when you take stuff off you but it back. Double checking before you give it back would be smart.Update from my last review, they fixed there wrong and gave me my money back from the problem that they made. I can at least say that they are honest people and the handle themselves very professionally. A lot of shops would have not even cared.Service: Electrical

I went to My Mechanic Auto Center because I noticed a small leak in differential fluid near where the driveshaft meets the differential. I informed the shop that I needed a new pinion seal. When I called, they had availability that morning and, I brought my vehicle over. Once I arrived, I was greeted by the owner who came out who wanted to talk about my vehicle and all the modifications. I mean, who doesn't like nitrous and mustangs. We walked inside the owner ordered the part and said he'll give me a call when they get it finished. They only had my vehicle for a couple of hours before I got the call that it was finished. When I came back to pay, I was surprised at how decent the pricing was for the repair. I would highly recommend going here. Good service and great pricing especially for the quality of the work.

I cannot express enough how absolutely amazing my experience with My Mechanics Auto Center was! All of the staff are professional, knowledgeable, kind, trustworthy, and hard working. The tow company that they work with is just as fabulous. The attention to detail and dedication and pricing were perfect! I definitely recommend My Mechanic Auto Center, you will not be disappointed. I was stranded and from out of town and they fixed up my vehicle and I was able to continue my journey in a timely manner.

This is my second visit to this facility. Again I was very impressed with the knowledge, professionalism, and honesty. Jon went above and beyond to ensure that my car gets the best oil on the market. Brittany welcomes me with a warm smile. This time I just came in for an oil change. Jon and I discussed oil options and again I trusted his choice of car oil.This is to anyone who is looking for a great car repair / maintenance shop.I absolutely will recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for honest people to fix or maintain your car.You guys are the BEST!!!!!DidiPS: I hop I didn t delete my first review. I would highly recommend this shop. I was warmly greeted by Preston at the front desk and my vehicle was promptly taken to the service area for evaluation. John the mechanic explained the issues with my vehicle and George the manager presented me with my estimate. He being a man of honestly and integrity explained that the $700 repairs for my 2003 Saturn Vue would not be a wise investment. He elaborated that there would be issues in the future that would exceed the value of the vehicle. I understand sometimes a vehicle is just not worth extensive repairs. He created an alternate plan to keep my vehicle on the road for an extended period of time. I will be returning in the future for all my automotive needs. Also I must add that the waiting area is very comfortable and that the restroom is very clean and well stocked.

I highly recommend this place, and will be a loyal customer from now on. Our alternator died, so I called everywhere in the area and My Mechanic had the best price. That's initially why we took our car there for repairs, but I am so glad we did! The work was done quickly and well. They were able to fix my car the same day I dropped it off, and they kept me informed about the progress. They were friendly and professional, and explained everything to me since I know nothing about cars. They even offered to fix our lawn mower when my husband mentioned that it was broken!

One of the best mechanics I've ever dealt with. George went out of his way to help my wife and I with our Ford Escape. He was able to quickly diagnose and fix several issues early on a Saturday morning. All morning he was keeping us in the loop on what he found, the price I would pay, and how long it would take. I especially liked the fact that he is able to email an invoice directly to me while on the phone so we can walk through each item. This will be my first choice for any auto repairs in Columbia from now on.

I am a student at USC and not close to home, so when my brake pads and front rotors went bad it was kind of frustrating. I called several shops in Cola, and they all were going to charge to "determine what was wrong," though I already knew my initial issue. I was referred to George at My Mechanic Auto, and he was very nice and assuring. I took my car to the shop, and he performed a VERY thorough and helpful inspection. He told me everything that could need to be replaced but overall was very assuring in telling me the essentials I would need to keep the car running. He got my brakes and rotors changed out within an hour, and I am very satisfied with the service. More so, the office provided me with a great couch to do school work on while and episode of the Office played in the background. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating, and I would definitely return for any future service needs.

Found someone who I can trust with my car, highly recommend. George makes sure you are taken care of. He even helped us on his day off, and worked over time to make sure things were figured out with a malfunction for my husband's car. They have found things wrong with my car that I never heard of before, and I just finished a warranty with a dealership. Very fair prices as well. Saved us a good $500+ on brakes alone (for two cars). Save yourself and go here.

I ve brought my vehicles to this shop ever since they opened up. I was having problems with my truck and they were very helpful, giving me a detailed report and fixing things that I never would have given a thought to. The mechanics are nice, trustworthy, and extremely knowledgeable. They ve always given me fast and thorough service. George and his mechanics are some of the best at what they do and it s always a pleasure to go there.

Awesome experience from start to finish. No run off the mill mechanic shop, tells you exactly what s wrong and will show you if you think otherwise. States prices promptly and that process went very easy. Excellent work in a timely manner. The best! I've been doing business with George for over 15 years. I drive 40 miles from my place to George's shop because he and his mechanics are the most competent mechanics there is. We have several cars. We have seven cars currently. All of our cars are serviced by George and his mechanics. George has his desk in the shop with the mechanics so that he has direct oversight of everything that goes on. He takes responsibility for all of it. That's a rare find. When we get our cars back from George they are always clean. We never have grease or dirt in our vehicles. George's prices cannot be beat. He is more than competitive in his pricing. That's why I always do all my business and my husband does all of his business with My Mechanic. Customers at My Mechanic are really treated as if they are friends.

This is the best mechanic I've had. Wonderful customers service. These guys have the ability to multitask and manger multiple customer at as time. Although when I came in I was upset that I brought a lemon from a dealer and the engine went out the next, the owner of My Mechanic made me feel at ease and even offered me a ride home. This is not your average mechanic shop...... they have ac and refreshments for customer I would suggest this to anyone with car issues.

Went in there from out of town after my car started messing up (destroyed water pump and blown head gasket). They went above and beyond to make sure things were fixed that day at a reasonable price just so I could make the 3.5 hour drive home. Also just this morning I received a call from George making sure I made it back safely and the car ran smooth! A shop with workers who truly care.

I had to take my car to My Mechanic Auto shop to be repaired and they had to work along side my insurance company. The customer service is spot on!! I have never been to any repair shop that had as nice of people that worked there! George is an awesome person, very friendly, very knowledgeable!! He went out of his way to keep me informed on the progress of my car. I honestly don't have enough words or space to explain how the customer service exceeded my expectations. Awesome company.

If I could give My Mechanic more than 5 stars, I would! Seriously, the best service I've ever gotten at any garage. George and his staff are meticulous and prompt and won't try to break your wallet like other places. My car runs better than it has in years. I'll never take my cars anywhere else again. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!

I don't always make time to write reviews, but George and his staff went above and beyond to bail me out of tough situation and allowed me to get on with my vacation. I was on my way from Charlotte to Jacksonville, FL when I noticed that my 2001 Honda Odyssey temperature gauge was much higher than normal. It was 6:30 AM so I googled Honda dealerships and called Midlands Honda since they were the closest. They kept me waiting over 3 hours only to tell me that the problem was a cooling fan switch and they couldn't get the part, even after market, until 4:00 the next day. I was skeptical so I called my mechanic in Charlotte and he told me there was no way that was the problem since the air generated by going 70 mpg was way more than the fan would produce. I called a few mechanic shops to see if anyone could see me immediately. I spoke to George and he agreed with my mechanic and said I could come right over. He was awesome. He hooked my car up to the diagnostic computer and figured out that it was just a temperature sensor. He had me back on the road in about an hour including waiting for the part. George also informed me that he could have gotten the fan switch easily if that was the problem. Totally honest and awesome. Thanks. Obviously, never go to Midlands Honda for service.

These guys are the real deal! My truck had a bad belt, broken shock, water pump was out so it was overheating like crazy, and it had a bad oil leak.. other places were quoting me around $1,700 to fix.. these guys did all that work in such a quick time at a fraction of what it would ve cost me! They will continue to get my business, and should be getting yours! Honest and reliable mechanics are hard to come by these days..Services: Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair

My first time going to this business was a good experience and because of it I returned with more of my business. Come to find out a couple of months later my oil was never changed which meant I was about six thousand miles over the recommended miles and a nail was never taken out of my tire. I think the owner really tries to run a reputable business, but his mechanics doing the work obviously don't share the same vision. Now I can't get in contact with anyone and am assuming he's closed for business. Interesting
