I'm sorry, I wish I could give a better rating, but my life was at risk after this service. I am not sure if it was my fault, my car's fault or the misguided confidence I was given with my vehicle by the owners here. I went in for a new serpentine belt for my vehicle, and notified of a oil leak from the oil filter. They tightened the oil filter without charging me which I was very grateful of. Less than a week later, my vehicle had a horrible burning smell and I checked to find more oil leakage from my engine bay. I returned back to be charged for a oil cooler gasket and a brand new oil filter.With this new repair, I just wanted to make it to Charlotte to pick up my new vehicle, however, they were very assuring to drive this current car even more as this car seemed to be good still. As I was babying it around town and finally taking my car up to Charlotte, my serpentine belt snapped on the highway from a third and thankfully, final oil leak/repair that I had to worry about. This caused quite interesting of a Saturday for me, and thankfully I was able to steer off the highway without power steering safely.This wouldn't usually warrant a bad review, however, I was only able to stay safe because I was already aware of such an issue with the vehicle, but I was very surprised the owner would vet off a repair where after a small drive, a burning smell from underneath the hood was acceptable. I noticed this smell too, however, I placed my trust in the owner's advice for own safety of the vehicle. I now wish for the second service to be refunded which proved to be insufficient.Additionally, the service with the place wasn't as consistent nor professional as I would have liked it. Every other mechanic shop has called me before any service happened to have me confirm on the service that needs to happen, just not with German Autowerks it seems.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Absolutely wonderful experience! I had a coolant leak in my 2020 Range Rover and was referred to Brandon by another mechanic that didn t find the leak. He found the problem, ordered the part and got it installed quickly and affordably! So happy with the service all around.

This is a great place to get your German car serviced. We had a bad experience at another repair shop and they caused a transmission leak that they couldn't fix. We took the car to German Autowerks and they diagnosed the problem right away and had it fixed in 3 days (only because they had to order some parts) they even wrote up a full detail about what the previous shop had done wrong. They even called my wife to follow up because they wanted to make sure that the 1st repair shop made the situation right because they felt bad for charging us for something that another shop had also charged us for but had done wrong... Long story short the 1st shop refunded us for the work that they messed up... And we now know where to take our Mercedes to for honest repair work.

Cannot share enough praise to Brandon and Ashley for their time spent doing a pre-purchase inspection on a 1999 Defender TD5 this past weekend. Brandon drove over two hours to conduct the inspection (on his day off) and I was provided a detailed report of his findings and photos the same day. The owner of the dealership where the Defender was also impressed with Brandon s knowledge and competency. Thanks again!

German Autowerks was recommended by a friend after a disappointing experience at an another local auto shop. I had a transmission leak in my Mercedes and had it in and out of the shop for over 8 weeks. German Autowerks was able to identify the problem and fix it very quickly. Ashley and team really cared about helping me solve the issue and communicated well throughout the process. They have my business from now on! Thanks!

I recently posted a not so favorable review for this business. I am editing my review because the reviews are valuable. Once the business understood my discontent with the service... I was contacted by them and my car was re serviced and I am pleased with the results. This business has proven to stand by their work and I would recommend and allow my car to be serviced there again. Thank you German Autowerks for having Goodwill behind your name. 2024

The right rear lower trailing arm on my 2006 Porsche Cayenne failed on my way back to NC from GA.I googled the nearest shop to find German Autowerks - it was after hours, so I had to put my key & info in the dropbox. After receiving the parts, Brandon was able to renew both left & right rear trailing link arms.1-week turn around was exceptional not having a scheduled appointment! Towed in Thursday night - picked up the following Thursday afternoon

I usually don't write reviews, but I'm so happy with the results after taking my car to German Autowerks. My bmw X6 had a squeaky sound on it and they fixed it for me. They changed the two front struts which solved the problem. Now, it's driving so good!! Thanks guys for the amazing work you did.

My VW GTI was broken and barely running. Multiple shops had no idea what was wrong and were telling me too much stuff was wrong with the car and to bring it to the dealership. Brought it to this business and they had my car back and working 100% within 2 days of me giving it to them. Service was great and the people there are very nice. Would give a 6/5 if possible.Service: Engine repair

Very good experience here. My daughter's BMW needed repair and it was completed timely at a reasonable price. I was kept informed which was important especially since I live out of state. I recommend them highly.

My wife's '14 ML550 blew a turbo coolant hose while in town for the weekend and I had it towed to the local Benz dealership for repair...was told they would only repair with all 6 turbo coolant hoses for both turbo's being replaced at $3,900Couldn't fathom paying for almost 14hrs of labor for coolant hose replacement so shopped around and Ashley gave me a quick quote for 1/2 the price of the dealer and her/their customer service is awesome...Highly, highly recommend them for any European car needs

My husband and I bought my mom's 2005 X5 that had been sitting for over a year. We had the vehicle towed to this shop. We went in and spoke to Ashley and Brandon who were very kind and helpful. We told them we needed an oil change, battery and new brakes. My mom had been complaining of the vehicle not cranking on cold mornings and we let them know that as well. Ashley kept me up to date throughout the entire process. We ended up needing an alternator, a new brake line, and a brake master cylinder. They fixed us up and got us on the road. Amazing customer service. Was passing though Columbia when my check oil light came on. I stopped by to see if they could take a look. They serviced my car immediately and charged next to nothing. The whole thing took about 20 minutes and then I was back on the highway. Highly recommend this family owned business!Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

We were traveling from Cleveland to Hilton Head when our car experienced a problem with the wheel speed sensors. Fortunately we were about an hour away from German Autowerks and remembered that they had been able to help us out in 2016 with the same car. It was mid afternoon on a FRIDAY and they said stop on by and they would see if they could help us out. We are so very grateful that they were able to not only diagnosis the issue but went out of their way to get the needed sensor parts and repair our vehicle so that we did not have to stay there overnight and could get to Hilton Head that evening! Very friendly staff, knowledgeable and reasonable pricing.

When I entered the facility I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Ashley was awesome with the attention to detail and communication with me. All of the mechanics are top notch and friendly. They're willing to answer any questions you may have and also give instructions on do it yourself projects. German auto is a military friendly business as well. I give two thumbs up on my whole experience and will be using them in the future!!!!!Service: Transmission repair

I ve been trying to find someone to fix the problem with my M5 for sometime and these guys fixed it within a day. They re real people to deal with and won t rob you of kids college funds. We have an older BMW with low mileage and a lot of potential Brandon and his crew have assisted twice to get this little gem in great shape! Please be patient as they are a smaller shop with a good demand - you won t be disappointed. German Autowerks has been performing repairs and maintenance on my classic Mercedes-Benz since 2004, handling a variety of issues ranging from routine oil changes to more complex problems that come with an older vehicle. I ve always received excellent service at an affordable price. Everyone at German Autowerks is knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. I would trust no other repair shop!

I had taken my car to the BMW dealership for an engine issue, but was suspect of their diagnosis (I have no animosity toward the dealership, it was a unique issue so I wanted to get a second opinion). So, I brought my car to German Autowerks . Their diagnosis turned out to be accurate and saved a lot of time and money that would have otherwise been spend on an inaccurate diagnosis. I was really impressed with the service, quality, and value of my experience. The team didn t push me to do any unnecessary services and thoroughly explained what needed to be replaced/fixed. When they noticed missing panels from the dealership s diagnostic, they coordinated with the dealership to get the panels back, saving me time, money, and frustration. Ashley kept me updated every step of the way. Her customer service is truly above and beyond. I've gone to German Autowerks 2-3 times for services and repairs for my Mercedes GLC. They are super friendly and very reliable. They are always able to work me in and able to finish everything in a timely manner. I have saved so much money by going here instead of the dealership because their pricing is very fair. I highly recommend going here for any German car!

Im just here to say Germans Auto really saved the day for me! I had a tedious repair that no one else wanted or knew how to fix on my Audi Q7.. they took care of for me in a timely matter really a day once the part was ordered. communicated very well and were really really pleasant from day one of me walking into their shop! I will definitely recommend them they know their stuff!! I m so thankful I have them as now my new repair shop !! Service: Electrical

I ve been going to German for about 2 years now. I get a bit impatient with them at times , but trust me when I say they aren t just bsing around when it comes to repairing you car, fixing foreign vehicles is a tedious job and it takes time! I also love how it feels so personal when I take my car there I feel like more than a customer and they always get the job done. Brandon and Ashley are awesome I only prefer to deal with them when I have an issue! I had an issue with my ignition locking up. Turned out i needed my key replaced. In which they handled. I was informed of an issue with my transmission that could be resolved with my transmission being serviced. The following day while driving my car started smoking. I had mechanic take a look my recently serviced transmission was leaking. I've been calling German AutoWerks for a week now & can't get a response and voice-mail is full. For $1300 my Trans shouldn't be leaking.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic, Transmission repair

This is an excellent company! They went above and beyond to get my BMW X5 back on the road! Brandon, Ashley, and their team, especially Mary and Daniel, are some of the best people I ve ever worked with. I will definitely be recommending them to anyone & everyone. I took my 15 year old sons 2001 BMW to this place 3 times for service engine light and a look over of the car to make sure the car was safe. Spent a total of $4000. Each time we got the car back something else would go wrong. On the way back from him passing his road test to get his license, the car stalled in the middle of highway. Do not recommend this place unless you want to keep going back to spend money.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment

Honest, reliable & so nice! I live in NY, my daughter is a student at USC... After 2 weeks, 3 tows to 3 different repair shops who could not figure out what was wrong with her Volkswagen, I was finally referred to German Autowerks. They had the car for 3 hours & diagnosed the problem. The car was repaired and back to my daughter in no time at all. They texted me updates and put this nervous mom's mind at ease!
