Sad sad place. I was trying to support and shop local. Mistake!! I would not recommend or promote this place. I was not told they were understaffed. I waited 2 hours and a half for a tire to be patched. I was not told they don't do appointments and they pick what cars they want to do first. As a black man in west Columbia it does suck to see your time isn't valued but your expected to pay all the same. ( Check the pics nobody at my Scoob or the desk)

BEWARE of this establishment , we dropped off our car to get it checked out. Tom informed us it will be a $125 diagnostic fee but it will come off of the total balance . We recalled the information back to him to make sure we understood before leaving. When we went back, to pick up the car after it was fixed. We was charged the fixing price on top of the $125. Tom was not there when we picked up, since he is the numbers guy . I went back up there the following week to speak with him to ask a few questions regarding the diagnostic fee , get an estimate on brakes as well as a question about a noise I hear when I crank up.He quoted me $475 for front brakes and another $475 for back (which I didn t inquire about)Then he told me the noise was because I needed a timing belt and it cost $,1800 before even looking under to see if there is even a timing belt. 2006 Toyota Corolla does NOT have a timing belt it has a chain.Furthermore, shops don t charge you are a diagnostic fee unless you don t get the car fixed.Say all this to say this place is a JOKE and con artists!!!Stay far away from this place!!!!!

Found ourselves in a situation that no one wants to be in. We had a bad flat tire on our way home from vacation. Not familiar with the area we had to call around to find help. We use Discount Tire back home for all of our tire needs and are always very happy with their service. While they didn t have the kind of tire we needed this time, they got us in touch with a fantastic place that did. Sometimes how businesses respond when they won t make the sale tells you more about the people who work there than when they can!

I was hesitant to write this review, because I used to take all of our fleet vehicles here and have mostly had a positive experience for over a decade. Most of the staff are polite and professional. But I had an experience yesterday with the new manager, and I refuse to take my personal or business vehicles there again. I had tires put on my personal vehicle. When they were finished, the young man told me they stripped a stud and couldn't get the lug back on. No big deal. I run a mechanical business myself and I know that mistakes happen. Cindy at the counter was polite and professional and said she'd order the part and I could bring it back the next day. Fast forward to this morning and the manager calls me (who left early the day prior to go to a baseball game and wasn't there when my vehicle was being finished) and tells me that they're not going to repair it, and that I must have brought it in that way. This despite the fact the kid told me to my face the shop did it. After a few minutes of back and forth, I tried to reach a compromise. I told him "Fine. Just buy the parts and I'll install them myself." Seems more than reasonable considering they broke it, right? Maybe $30 in parts. This guy then proceeds to tell me that he's not even going to do that and that I bought the cheapest tires and my car had a lot of miles. How that relates to them stripping my stud I still can't figure out. Had I not been with a customer at the time, I would have had some harsher words for him. Would have been pointless, though. This guy all but called me a liar to my face. If I provided that kind of service to my customers, I wouldn't be in business. Luckily for them, I'm an honest businessman and stand behind my work. Unlike this guy. I'd recommend going just about anywhere else until this dude inevitably gets fired. And even if he doesn't, he won't be getting any more of my fleet business. I'd rather take it someone with honesty and a work ethic.

I went to see about getting a tire repaired. I had to wait an hour before they got to my car. I was called over to the desk thinking I was going to pay for repair. The guy told me the tire couldn t be repaired. He said it wouldn t hold air. He said it would be Monday before he could get a tire. I told him I could wait three day that I had to work. Then I asked if they would put the donut tire on so I could take it somewhere else. That guy blew up at me and said they couldn t put it on. He then told me if I wasn t going to leave my car I needed to call a wrecker to tow it somewhere else. The man that worked on the car brought my keys to me. I went out to the car to try and figure out what I was going to do. The tire was pumped up. I found another place five minutes from there.. I drove the car to the other place. When they looked at the tire they said it could be fixed with a plug. Saved me over $100. This place is money hungry cheating people. I wouldn t recommend them at all to anyone.

Update: Got a return call from owner as seen in reply and excellent conversation. This issue was about customer service and Nathan is a fine example of how that is done. Great job and thank you for caring and following up.Kudos to Nathan and the customer service mindset and addressing the concerns.Took my tire in to be repaired and within two months the plug that was put in started coming out.I took it to another tire professional and they confirmed that it was a plug and it was done improperly from the outside rather than from the inside. the result is I need to buy a new tire.I went back to this location to talk with the manager and he became very defensive and said he is not buying me a new tire and that who knows what could happen to that plug and maybe the hole was just a little too big and the plug is coming loose.I explained to him that I was told by two different reputable tire professionals, and that it was done improperly it was done from the outside rather than from the inside the tire. He denied that but two other places said that's exactly how it was done. The outside method is the old way and is no longer even legal. So buyer beware they'd love to sell you something but they don't back up anything they do and they apparently do not have high quality tire repair professionals. If you want it done right you need to go somewhere else to get your tires and get a company who backs any warranties .

I had a screw in my tire and they were able to plug the hole that same day. They also put my tire back on free of charge. It cost 1/2 of what Firestone charged me! (~ $25 vs $40). Super impressed, thank you so much.

Super friendly staff! Cindy at the front desk offered coffee and brightened my day, absolutely making my surprise post-midnight shift flat tire a breeze. Multiple coworkers of mine recommended coming here and another customer there told me she d been going here for multiple decades. The mechanic showed me exactly what happened to my tire and explained why it couldn t be repaired. It really built my trust and didn t feel like he was trying to push me into buying a brand new tire when I didn t need one. I ll be going here again for sure! Thanks yall!

Thank you for repairing my flat tire with no charge.I am new to the area. I got a flat tire in the morning and drove to Discount Tire of West Columbia based on the review. They fixed my tire in a timely manner and to my surprise, at no charges. My spare tire was mounted back and the jack that I threw in the trunk was placed back nicely. Thank you all for your kindness, help and wonderful service.

Tire light came on during a long trip. Stopped and one of my tires was at 4 PSI! Put in some air and googled for a discount tire place. We thought we were going to the chain but ended up here and could not have been happier with our experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Not only did they repair my tire quickly, they would not let me pay!! I didn t have any cash or I would have insisted or left some anyways. I also learned how to replace the battery in my key fob by talking with a regular customer and one of the staff. It was busy while we waited...seems like they have a great business and I can understand why. THANK YOU so much for helping us get on our way quickly and safely. Highly recommend!

Not the first time that I've had a tire not holding the air- pressure . I knew I had to get it fixed, so I checked the local listings for tire service and repair.I got right in, even faster than I was expecting. In less than 10 minutes the service technician calls me over an said it was a nail , and it's his now.So I then ask , do I see the man in the office ? I'm ready to pay and be on my way...this was so fast.He says , no you're good to go. So he doesn't charge me. I was shocked! Well , he could have made an easy $ 20.00 to fix it, and I would gladly pay.U can bet that I will do all my auto repairs here..no question. And they don't know that I am a Google Guide and many people will be reading this post. If anyone needs an honest job done on their auto ...go here

Left grease and hand prints all over car and was told it was already there. They took glass cleaner to it which still didn't get anything off. I had to go get car detailed again 40 dollars after the 80 dollar oil change is ridiculous!

Was looking for a reputable service station nearby. This one appeared with good ratings, so I called. When the phone was picked up no-one answered. Strike One. Then they hung up. Strike two. Figured I'd give 'em another chance so called again. This time someone answered but mumbled something incoherent so I couldn't tell if I even heard "Pope-Davis" and placed me on hold. Waited long enough and figured they were too busy and didn't need my business. Strike three. Went on Angie's List and found Teal Service Inc. in Lexington. They answered the on the second ring, spoke clearly and told me I could drop the car off anytime. Called early afternoon the next day that the service was done. Price was right. Simple.

Took my vehicle in to get some service done on the front end. Gave me a call and told me it was front wheel bearing, and it would be close $1100 to fix,and that wheel bearing was close to $500. Informed them I would pick the truck up and have it fixed elsewhere. Then told me that they could probably find a cheaper part. Still told him I'd pick it back up and take it somewhere else. So I called around to NAPA, advanced auto, autozone and even called the dealer. That same part they wanted $500 for, was $200 cheaper to order that same part from the dealer or $300 from any of the supply shops I mentioned. So over a 100% markup on parts. Way overcharging for the labor. So I took it to a shop recommended by my friend, and for well under $500(the price of the Discount Tire of West Columbia part) I'm back on the road again.

This store had wonderful customer service! When we ran over a piece of metal in our truck, they took us right in and patched the tire for us, and didn't even charge! We were extremely worried about the cost and if we would have to replace the tire completely, but they took control and eased our minds. Thank you for all you do!

Great service, very friendly staff. My husband called on a Monday to get new tires for our car they said to bring it in the next day so I went as early as I could. They were very busy but still tried their best to service my car as soon as possible.

Although the cost of two new tires was very reasonable, it cost me in time and money for loss of time from work waiting on them to repair the continuous leak in one of the tires they sold me. Also after being being told I was next to be serviced I watched as a man who came in after me get his tire fixed, a seemly friend. I was very disappointed in the service.

This place is awesome. They have excellent customer service, They are all about speedy tire repairs, I love the fact that they still patch a tire, they Do Not plug them, they stand by thier product & thier workmanship wich is a rare commodity in this time & era.My family has been going here for multiple generations. At Pope-Davis they know the reason they are still going strong after many many years, is because thier customers always have been & always will be #1 and they give quality service.

I am always treated nice when I come here. They even picked my car up from work to fix my brakes and dropped it back off for me when they were done. That was a lifesaver for me because my schedule was really hectic. They went above and beyond to give good service.
