I had a driveshaft replaced in my excursion a while back at Master Tech. They did a great job on it. I had taken it to a chain repair shop at first, and it sat there for 10 months without anything at all getting fixed. Once I got it over to Master Tech, they jumped right on it. These days It can be hard finding a solid repair shop, but Master Tech is one of the good ones.

I would definitely recommend this company for all your automotive needs. I drove up from Savannah Georgia to let Master Tech perform work on my truck. They installed a new transmission in my custom 1972 F100. Their attention to detail is second to none. I am 100% happy with the craftsmanship and work performed on my classic. Great job guys!!

Master Tech saved my vacation and they were outstanding! We were driving from Va to Fl when we had an issue. It was late in the day and we were lucky to find Master Tech. My Honda Odyssey has an issue with the spark plugs. They did not have the plugs and drove to get new ones for us. They made the fix and we were back on the road within a couple of hours. While we waited, they were kind and accommodating. The 1 star reviews look personal to me and do not reflect what my family experiences. They were great and I can t thank them enough for saving our vacation.

Went there for a diagnosis on my Minivan, come to find out it needs a complete rebuild of the transmission, $100 for Diagnosis plus filling out some paperwork too. Miss Fred explained everything very well and made clear. I just wish I could of afford for them to fix my Minivan. Good service is not cheap and I believe it.

My fiance and I were travelling from North Carolina to Florida on Thursday September 10th for our wedding that Saturday when our Jeep decided to overheat on I-95. We were left stranded on the side of the road with our two dogs, but luckily got our vehicle towed to Master Tech. I work as a receptionist at a Automotive Service and Body shop so I understand how tough it can be to squeeze in a vehicle that wasn't on the schedule for the day but they did just that. Not only did they diagnose the vehicle within an hours worth of time, they were able to order the parts we needed and get it fixed all within a few hours and not charge us an arm and a leg for the repair. We were able to get back on the road, behind schedule but with the sure confidence about the work done that we would make it down to Florida and back to North Carolina without another breakdown. It was a really hot day and not only did they welcome and accommodate my whole family in the waiting area but also our two dogs. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you made what could have been a terrible start to our wedding weekend just a bump in the road.

I broke down on my drive to Fl, and got towed to this shop. The staff were amazing. Fred is a gem of a human, and helped get me sorted as quickly as they could. Furthermore, their prices were incredibly fair and turn around was fast. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

I don't generally write reviews, but with the service we received at Master Tech, I had to. On our way back to North Carolina from Florida our car started making a terrible noise while we were on 95. We stopped at the exit and then we were afraid to move any further because it seemed that something was going on with the brakes. This was about 4:30. Called Triple A and we were towed to Master-Tech. When my boyfriend spoke to Brook he offered to wait for our vehicle past closing (we ended up getting there at around 6:30). This was after a big snow in South Carolina so the roads were still pretty icy and it was a Friday night. That in and of itself was worth a 5 star review, and it only got better. Once we got there he managed to get us on our way within 45 minutes. What started out as an almost nightmare situation and what we thought was going to be probably more than a 24 hour delay turned out to only be a few hours. Thank you so much!!!

Took them four months to replace the engine in my RV. Final cost was $2,500 more than initial estimate. Things kept breaking while in their possession and we were charged for it. We had just put in a brand new battery before the engine blew and they replaced the battery, charged us and didn't authorize the work beforehand. Had to drive 11 hours to pick up the vehicle and after 5 hours driving back home the engine overheated and the battery died. We had to get it towed less than 24 hours after MasterTech supposedly fixed the problem and took our money. We waited for months to get our vehicle back and were treated with rudeness and lies the entire time.

Our vehicle broke down near Walterboro on I-95 on a recent trip. It was mid-afternoon by the time we were able to get it towed to Master-Tech. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix it in a few hours! We were back on the road before 6pm! Their prices were fair and the service was very friendly. The truck is still running great 3 days later. If I lived nearby, this would be my service center!

Mastertech Transmission and Complete Auto Repair is awesome. Fred, who will probably be the first to greet you when you arrive, is both really good at her job and really devoted to providing excellent service. Great combination :).We were plain lucky to break down in her neck of the woods. We had both fuel line and electrical problems creating some pretty strange symptoms in my '94 Ranger. Their technicians sorted patiently and meticulously through the issues, bringing out each problem as they uncovered it for us to see. They were quick, professional, and impressively skilled. Our beloved family vehicle couldn't have washed up into better hands. And, though we spent 3 hrs in the office while they worked through everything, it seemed to fly by! They were so welcoming, accommodating, friendly, and engaging! Fred made me feel like a long-lost sister. Even our 7-yr-old was perfectly content the whole time in the familial atmosphere. And in the end, I'm sure I've paid much more for much less service -Mastertech was a deal at twice the price. Finally, after watching them work all afternoon, I can assure you, if Fred ever yells at you, you more than had it coming, you probably need to hear what she has to say, and you should thank her for taking the time out of her busy day to share her valuable perspective.

Radiator burst in Subaru Outback on the way up i95. Tow recommended this place. Gave me a fair price, fixed it the same day and made the extra effort to ensure it was all working properly. No highway robbery. Very much appreciated their help.

You know that place in your nightmares where you get taken advantage of in more ways than one when your car breaks down? well... this is that place. Fred (a woman) is the manager (if that is what you could call the completely incompetent and useless person with no care for the customer.) she(it) and her staff are only there for one thing... scamming people out of money. nothing more, nothing less. They tried taking advantage because we got stuck on the side of the road when a transmission seal let go. Got towed to this shop thinking that we would be getting the best service possible, boy were we wrong. they did not even look at it in timely manner, wasted an entire day on "diagnostic" so we had to get a hotel ended up stuck here for 3 days and each day we called they were putting other customers ahead of us and could not even tell us when it would even get back on the left to start repairs. finally I ended up going down there and talked with Fred again and she(it) was completely rude yelling and insulting and had no answers for not only me but other customers who had been waiting multiple days and were not getting anywhere. This place is nothing short of a scam shop with grease monkey mechanics and clowns in the front office. So.... if you enjoy getting it hard and dry, get your car towed to mastertech transmission where you can guarantee they will take your money and your innocence. I personally would recommend having a tow strap handy so you can hook it to the front of your car and start pulling it to your destination, you will get to your destination a lot quicker and it will be a lot less hassle. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU LIKE TO BE TREATED LIKE A HALF RATE HUMAN.

I can t say enough about this company and the whole crew here. We were moving from Maryland to Florida and we broke down had our vehicle our truck diesel towed to the auto shop. They went out of their way to accommodate us not only personally but professionally with getting the vehicle fixed.I feel that they are very knowledgeable and fair and we had a great experience with them despite the issues with our car!! Highly recommended!!!!!!

Traveling from New York State to Florida, my Nissan Rogue broke down on I95 in Walterboro, SC. I first inquired with the nearest garage/dealer I saw so I went to a Ford dealership who recommended I take my car to Master-Tech. Fred at Master-Tech took the car in right away, inspected and diagnosed the problem, and gave me an accurate estimate of what would need to be done. I needed a brand new transmission so I rented a car and went to Florida and Master-Tech kept in touch with me while I was away. I traveled back to SC from Florida where I picked up my Rogue with its brand new transmission and it ran beautifully all the way home. I highly recommend Master-Tech because they do excellent work and they're trustworthy and honest.

I took my car to Master Tech because I like to support my local businesses. I was told their would be a 100.00 diagnostic fee that was non refundable and it would not be applied to the cost of repair if we decided to fix it their. I was ok with this..I was told I needed a battery and it would be $100.00 I went and got a battery from Walmart for $60.00 and dropped it back off. I was told after diagnostic that I needed a wheel bearing assembly and a wheel speed sensor. Fred said they were giving me a deal on the labor at 2.5 hours. The quote was $900.00 for parts and labor. I was surprised and asked about price of parts, which were over 400.00. I called oreillys and was given a price of $200.00 for the parts I needed.. When I called back to ask why the markup was over 100% . The owner Fred was rude and told me they charged retail for parts and she be more than happy to reduce the price of parts and Go UP on the labor. The national average for labor for this job is only 1.5 hours, so they were already over on both parts and labor. I told her I could not afford this price and felt it unfair. I also mentioned that I worked for a car delearship for 10 years and even they only had 20% markup on parts. Fred said I can pick the car up did not try to work with me at all. I picked the car up and was charged $100 diagnostic 15.00 for shop supplies tax and labor for putting the battery in for a total of $158.00!! When I got to RPM on Jefferies...I didnt even need the wheel speed sensor and was only charged $350.00 for the whole job..I would never go back to Master Tech unless you want to be ripped off!!

I was driving down on I-95 when the transmission started acting funny. Regardless of what the problem was, they found it quick, they fixed it quick, and we were out in no time. The secretary was the kindest and most welcoming person I've ever had the pleasure of talking to and the mechanics clearly were efficient and timely.I don't know if we'll be in the area again but if we're ever in need of repairs in Colton county, I know where to go first. A++ service

My son found himself stranded in Waltersboro, due to a water pump failure. They took him in, diagnosed, and repaired his car in the same day. Reasonable pricing, great service. A great experience given the circumstance. Thanks!

DO NOT GO TO MASTER-TECHIf you are in the Walterboro/Cottageville/Summerville area, or from California passing through and break down in Master-techs driveway, please, get it towed elsewhere.I had my intake manifold Gasket replaced maybe three months ago because it was leaking at the rear of my intake. The technician that was working on my car started the first day I dropped it off. The following day he went on 'vacation' and my car sat for the next two days. I went back up to Master-tech and they told me what gasket set to buy, they gave me the part number and where to get it; so I went and bought it. I asked to speak to the technician when he returned and stressed the importance of doing the intake correctly to avoid a leak in the near future, and of course he berated me with "I've been a mechanic for over 25 years, I know what i'm doing, you don't have to tell me." After they had finished I was told there was 'no-warranty' because I bought the gasket set. They are shady, rude people, they tricked me into buying a gasket-set so they would not have to fix it if they messed up. Not even three months later my intake is leaking at the FRONT AND THE REAR!!! I returned to Master-tech to try and sort out the problem and was told that I would have to pay them to fix THEIR mistakes, which I refuse to do. Booke's wife, who works at the front, proceeded to get an aggressive attitude towards me. I told her that I did not like her attitude and it was making me very uncomfortable. She then proceeded with a rude sarcastic attitude saying "How can I help you?? What can I do for you?! what can I do for you?" Over and over. I told her that I had to step outside to make a phone call to avoid further verbal attacks. I did not return, which brings me here, to warn others of this crooked, shady, disaster of a shop. After I picked up the vehicle I immediately returned 20 minutes later with the concern of a 'tick' from the driver-side valve cover. I was told there is nothing they could do unless I paid them. I told them I wouldn't pay them and she kept repeating 'this scares me' 'this is why we don't do this kind of work' then gave me a valve cover gasket set, like $15 as if a bribe for me not to pursue the issue present. A day or so later my car overheated. The cause? Master-tech did not bleed my cooling system after the gasket replacement. This caused an 'air-pocket' that built up and caused my car to overheat. I filled up the coolant and bled the system, and didn't bother with going back because they had made it evident they weren't there to help anyone or fix their mistakes. After driving the car a few days, I kept noticing how hard it was to shift gears, and I would constantly miss first gear. They also replaced my clutch at the same time of my intake gasket. Upon further inspection the same technician had put my shifter boot on incorrectly, so it was binding on my shifter. The shifter itself was put on crooked and the gasket was not applied properly. The shifter/shifter housing was banged up and had decent sized gashes. The shifter boot had only 3 of the 8 screws put back in. He also managed to bend the sheet metal on the opening to the shifter housing so the shifter boot would not lay flush, which caused massive wind-noise from the shifter area. This is my Daily Driver and I can not drive with the current leak at the front and rear of the intake. So I am having to do it myself. I have mechanical knowledge and I know what I am doing. I tried to give the shop a chance and they failed. This leaves me with the task of changing the intake manifold gasket and out of the money I paid master-tech to do the job. As I started on the job today, I have already noticed many issues that Master-tech has created.

i was traveling north on i-95 fld to upstate ny when using cruise control at around 70 plus mph my rpms started jumping up 500 rpms over the normal 2500 when cruise was set at i think about 72 or 73 mph.to me it felt like trans was slipping because speed didn't change. i didn't want to chance causing more damage by continued driving, so i pulled over called aaa for tow, after did search for repair shop and found mastertech.this problem showed itself slightly before ,but it was around town at lower speed ,i didn't worry about it too much .anyway i was there for 5 hours on tuesday am one of the techs checked and test drove my 2000 nissan frontier multiple times ,scanned and scoped engine control module (computer)module. he adjusted throttle position sensor and cleaned and oiled my k&n airfilter. also smoke tested engine which isused for finding vaccum leaks and other problems. there were no trouble codes stored in ECM memory and check enginewas not on.also cleaned mass air flow sensor . after all that and multple test drives, the problem was gone. sorry about length, but many things to check when drivability problems arise. i continued onmy roadtrip to NY and back to Florida with no more problems.i work as fleet light and heavy truck tech so i know how to fix and repair these problems if i had the right tools and equipment with me.i am very happy with the work that was done. thanks Fred and crewps, i was charged 100.00 diagnostic plus one hour labor which i think was more than fair since tech spent halfday checking everything and roadtesting multiple times.

Was traveling south on I-95 radiator busted the service and the time to wait for completion of repairs was great, but the problem was $100.00 charge for diagnostic fee that would not be applied toward repairs (that was a first for me), the cost for the radiator they purchased from O'Reilly had to be less then $168.99 cause that was the charge for me as a walk-in customer, they get a shop discount for the parts they purchase..on my invoice Fred charged me $288.69 for radiator, paid for 2 gals of antifreeze @ ($32.19 per gal). I live in South Carolina one gal has always been the amount needed for this climate. Finale way do you find it necessary to use an false name..FRED?????IN YOUR WORDS MASTER-TECH!!! I'm missing something"Go to our website and fill out our online form. We will provide you with an estimate to fix your Transmission or do an Auto Repair. FREE Estimates, MasterCheck Diagnostics, & Road Test."

Expect to get told one thing one day and then something completely different the next. Office staff and management (or owner) can also be quite rude when you inquire as to the difference, or question what the new charges (or estimate) consists of.
