Brought my chevy work van to get the transmission computer tuned so that it wouldn't prematurely wear out the torque converter. The Cook team did a great job and got me in and out fast. I had made an appointment ahead of time, and as soon as I got there they pulled the van right into the shop. Highly recommend them.

Today they reprogrammed the TCM to prevent future failures to my 6I80e Transmission and also did an oil change as I was overdue for one. I have been using this shop and their sister shop advantage for the past 2 years and they do a phenomenal job every time. As a female, I feel like they talk to me as a person and tell me the truth about what is going on with my Truck. (Unlike other shops I have been to that see me as a female and automatically assume I know nothing about trucks and try to scam me out of unnecessary things). They are always very thorough and take their time. Both shops continue to exceed my expectations. If you are looking for a nice family-owned shop in the area that isn't run by a major corporation this is your go-to place. This shop treats you like family and their customer service is one of a kind.

I had my transmission replaced here at cooks in November of 2023. My truck been running great and it came with 3yrs/100k warranty. Great service and great people.

Worst shop in upstate. Only goes by codes and does not visually check transmissions. Does not remove transmission and look with eyes. Only uses code checker devices. Ford F150 left with worse problems than submitted. Never even looked at transmission or removed it. Just went by codes. Worst mechanics in Spartanburg.

Shout out to cooks , for getting me back on the road in my 09 z71 . Quick turn around nice folks . Great work that s done on a hand shake . I ll definitely be coming back in the future, owner is a good fella . Couldn t ask for anything else . Thanks again and hope to see u at a c10 show buddy .

These guys are outstanding in all areas- Customer Service, Knowledge and the work they do. Trustworthy and honest. Traits that are hard to find nowadays. You won't be disappointed! 5 stars all around. Take your vehicle here before you bother with any local dealerships. Trust me!

I am a mechanic in the most known national automotive multi-care company. Dillon called and spoke with me regarding a customer's drivability concern, wherein I diagnosed and repaired customers vehicle. 3 months later an additional drivability concern / issues occurred resulting in the customer visiting Cook's Transmission. There were previous existing issues with the customers vehicle. I diagnosed and repaired the issues and explained more in-depth mechanical possibilities that were of a base engine concern. Dillon went above and beyond to contact and speak with me regarding the customers concerns. I am in Gastonia N.C., Dillon informed of diagnostic information. Dillon went above and beyond helping his customer by reaching out to me in a different state to try and help his customer. I highly recommend Cook's Transmissions Services as an HONEST, educated, ability, and competent service.

If I could leave Cooks more stars I would. I have never been to a shop that genuinely cares like they do. They are determined to give you answers and will go out of their way for you. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend!

Well, my car has been there for 3 weeks so far and as of now i haven't received a single phone call. I have reached out to them 3 times and was told they just pulled it in to look at it each time. So far i am not happy. I will update this if the service changes or if the quality of work makes up or the lack of communication.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

My truck runs brand new and they were timely, professional, and KNOWLEDGEABLE. Not to mention they are GOOD PEOPLE and honest. I would recommend them to anyone and I trust them implicitly. Great guys.

Extremely pleased with the experience and interaction I've had with Cook's. They're very friendly and sincere about they way they treat their customers. They honored a transmission warranty I had, which was well over its expiration date- something unheard-of these days, and were happy to do it. I would highly recommend their services and I'm sure you'll see why.

Excellent customer service. The guys at Cook's are honest and dependable. They got to my truck when they said they would. And called to let me know what was wrong with my transmission. What they found was minor so they went ahead and fixed the issue. It is nice to find a repair shop that is not all about making money and still has the "customer comes first" attitude. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

The service was friendly and courteous. I was consistently met with a smile, both in person and over the phone. They are very professional and take obvious pride in their works. Fantastic people, awesome service, great warranty! I hope we never need tranny service again but if we do they're at the top of my list!

I was referred to Cook's Transmission Services by my son and also by my car service center for possible transmission problems. After a very thorough exam, I was happy to hear that this was not the problem. However, my car was diagnosed by Cook's to have a problem with my engine misfiring and referred back to the service center to be fixed. The employees were super friendly, and there was no charge for this diagnosis, just a firm handshake. I highly recommend!!

I had my transmission rebuilt a few ago took my car back due to it not shifting correctly just to be told that it was my transmission mounts. It makes no sense to me that they didn't see that before they took my money. Was told it wasn't part of the job. Not a very earnest company I believe company would have checked out everything that had something to do with what they were working on. How can you say you have done a great job when you just cut corners? Very very Disappointed and will tell everyone I know NOT to go there.

We own a repair shop in Greer and have had one transmission rebuilt by Kevin and the crew, Time for rebuild and communication was second to none as well as a few customers we've referred there have been more than pleased!If it slips, clunks or don't shift don't look anywhere else but these guys for honest service and great work!!!- Erica and Brian (The Grease Junkies)

Sent a transmission to get rebuilt there and we installed it in our shop like we have many times before but this time the transmission didn t work. Called to get it repair again since they most of not rebuilt something correct and they want to charge me to repair it again? Like we have to take it out again and they don t want to pay anything for that either! Terrible place. Just use Cooks racing in cowpeas. Cheaper and way better!Service: Transmission

Wow! I am amazed at the wonderful customer service that I always receive at Cook's. Tim has been so helpful in resolving my car troubles. Whenever I have called, he makes time to sit and listen to me (which can take a while), then gives me his unbiased and professional opinion. I took my VW Jetta in for a transmission rebuild and I got in back earlier than the competition and with a more affordable bill (plus better warranty). In addition, if I experience any car troubles, I make sure I call Tim because he refers me to the right people and will even have my car inspected for me. So grateful for their help!!

When i took my 1990 Buick in, It took a couple days longer than expected to get my car (because the parts are hard to find for something that old) , but when i got it back it was in tip top shape. Runs like a champ. And when i had trouble with my cruise control only a week later, they fixed it for free. Would definitely recommend these guys!

Transmission in my Chevy was slipping and I had talked to several people in the area about who to take it to. So many people credited Cooks Transmission to be a great place to have the work done and very reliable so I found them on Google Maps and called to schedule the appointment. Great service and very down home local people who care about my needs. Car is now fixed and its like driving a new car again! i would tell anyone to go to cooks transmission if they need work done!Thanks guys!

I was stranded 500 miles from home in Spartanburg. I put my truck in park, shut it off, and it started rolling. On top of that, it wouldn't start. All of this on a Sunday night. I read reviews here and talked to a friendand decided to give Cooks a try. It's Tuesday and I'm driving my truck. I can't say enough about these guys. I called and left them a message Sunday and had my truck towed there. Monday afternoon they already had it on the lift and found the issue (shift linkage broke). They ordered the part after talking to me Monday afternoon and had it finished Tuesday morning. Service doesn't get any better than that. And they guys were friendly and top notch. If I'm ever in need of transmission work in Spartanburg, they will have my business.

Poor diagnostics. Came with the problem of my truck pulling forward in drive mode despite me pressing brakes. Was told that the problem in a valve solenoid. Paid more than $300 for a new one. The problem was not solved. Was told a lie that it was an engine problem and not the transmission causing it . 2 monthes later I am finally finding out that a weared torque converter was causing all the issues. Paid $300 for nothing. This specialized transmission service center could not diagnose that my toque converter went bad.

I called this place looking for a part for my van. I know what I need, I asked him if he could order the part. He told me he would have to see the vehicle and then he will order the part. I told him I would call him back if I need him. Then he hung up on me without saying anything.
