About out to Jessie at Death Valley Towing. after calling AAA and being told our tire change was not covered (another story) on our 5th wheel, we called Death Valley. polite, courteous and efficient. jessie had us back on the road within an hour of our call. Not to mention on a very busy Hwy 76 to boot. We cannot thank him enough. Thank you!!!

The lack of empathy I received from the lady who answered the phone was very upsetting. I was involved in a car accident that I did not cause and it occurred after business hours. I was taken straight to the hospital from the scene and the only thing I had was my phone. My purse, wallet, and house keys were left in the vehicle. After the ER visit, I called the number provided to me by the State Trooper. The lady who answered the phone had no empathy for me and could careless that I couldn t even unlock my door to get into my home. I didn t even have a DL to identify myself. She kept repeating We open at 9am tomorrow . After the third call she finally said I will have my driver reach out to you when they get back to the office and the ONLY thing you will be able to get is your house keys and wallet. I was completely taken back by her attitude because I was not parked in a handicapped spot, parked near a fire hydrant, or even in a tow away zone. I was simply driving down the road and somebody decides to hit me in the front so bad it pushed me to the side of the road. Thank God I have family who came to my rescue while in the ER. My question to the woman who answered the phone is what exactly is the protocol for someone who has absolutely NOBODY? No friends, no family, nothing. Where would you expect them to sleep for the night if you wouldn t have allowed them to come get their house key? The hospital sure didn t have a bed to spare. I didn t ask for this event to happen to me after your business hours. I hope the lady who answers the phone learns how to show empathy to those who didn t ask to be in this situation. Lastly, to the lady who answered the phone, I hope you never become that somebody who has nobody to call and you can t get into your home to even feed your dog who is wondering why you aren t home yet. I hope when you read this, it weighs heavy on your heart and you take some time to learn how to show empathy to others. Thank you to the tow truck driver who called me once he got back to the office. If you get the choice of which company tows your vehicle due to an accident, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS ONE.

Courteous and helpful. Two stars off for partnering with uncaring parking lot owners who have you towed without putting up signs to that effect BEFORE you park!

Absolute predators. They literally prowl neighborhoods looking for people to tow. I know someone who's decal was just covered by a leaf and they towed her car. They have been factually wrong and presented with empirical evidence, AND STILL refused to admit wrong and reimburse customers. Steer clear.

Death Valley Towing was called to tow my car after my accident about 8 months ago, I had to get my affairs in order so I could pick my car up and pay them. The ladies at the desk were friendly and gave me my keys I had no issues getting my car back. I have nothing negative to say about DVT. I do have a question though to DVT...do you guys have any repos on your lot that you're selling? Thank you for your services I received

With my job my vehicle is run in the ground every day. So I'm on the way home and unfortunately have a breakdown right at the intersection where Verizon is in Clemson. Embarrassing to say the least. Death valley was the first one that popped up on my Google search. As I know plenty of people have experienced vehicle breakdowns in their life and how stressful it can be. First and foremost the lady that answered the phone was very friendly and willing to help. Considering it was 5 on a Friday I did not expect to get such a friendly voice on the other end of the line much less availability so quickly. Some very friendly local police officers pushed my vehicle over into the Verizon parking lot. Death Valley's response time was less than 30 minutes. That impressed me. Also they had no problem with me riding along while they towed my vehicle to the house. The prices were very reasonable as well. They will definitely be first on my list if there ever comes a time where I need to get a tow again.

Predators and parasites on the student population. They have some sticker system with the local slum lord Tiger Properties . They have towed my son, in error, twice from his apartment complex that he as an active lease with. It would be really easy to fix by matching permission to park with leasing periods and tag numbers, but they would rather prey on lawfully parked students instead. It is $160 a pop to get your car out of their lot, which, from my research is an exorbitant profit margin for towing services. I guess that helps with the boat payment. The owners and management of this place should reconsider their lowly place on this earth. They should also revisit their procedures regarding their dodgy sticker system with the slum lords around town. Death Valley Towing (and Tiger Properties) are not upstanding and honest members of the Clemson community. They should be shunned and shamed whenever they come in your neighborhood. Make it difficult for them to prey on students. Also, by the way, they sneak around your neighborhoods in the wee hours the morning (4am). That s when they go about doing their dishonest and predatory business . Shame!Service: Car towing

We own a Campground/Mobile Home park on Lake Hartwell. The Boat Ramp is for our Tenants only. the Boat Ramp area is marked with 18 signs stating PRIVATE Property. Violators will be towed. We have partnered with Death Valley Towing to ensure others do no violate the parking rules. When Death Valley responds to our request to remove an illegally parked vehicle, they are always very courteous and take care to ensure the vehicle being towed is not damaged in any way. There have been times when one of the Tenants had forgotten to display the parking permit. Death Valley arrived on site and the Tenant produced the permit and Death Valley worked with the owner and the vehicle was not towed.Death Valley towing is a pleasure to work with. They relieve headaches for the business owner.I would highly recommend this company for your vehicle towing needs.Service: Car towing

These guys are AWESOME! Very fast response time and teaching these kids a lesson! Parent weekend was recently and a ton of people were in town that weren t familiar with parking procedures downtown. All I can say is just cause you don t know the rules doesn t mean you can break them! I had a friend who got a call from a buddy for a ride, he had a few drinks and didn t want to drive. We ll my buddy goes to pick him up, parks in the garage downtown and walks across the street to get his friend. When they got back his car was gone! He walked right past the payment kiosk and honestly no one cares that he was gone for only 3 minutes. Should let that joker figure out how to get home himself next time. Plus the fee was like $160! Absolutely hilarious, he dropped off his friend and came into our living room that night CRYING!! DVT is teaching these dumb broke college kids life lessons. I see them patrolling my apartments sometimes at night and I just smile knowing that my parking lot will have a few less cars in the morning. Wish I could rate higher! /s

Towed my car when it was parked in a public lot without any signs. No good way of appealing it either. Absolutely criminal to take advantage of students by stealing their car and basically making them buy it back. At least offer student discount. Absolute parasites

I am a Disabled Veteran with veteran plates and Death Valley literally had me towed from an unmarked public parking spot. The woman on the phone for Death Valley was rude and very unhelpful. The woman that had us towed was a complete jerk that apparently hates veterans and people that make her privileged lifestyle possible. You are awful people and should be ashamed of yourselves for exploiting people and profiting for our misfortune. I m not some rich kid and paying to get my vehicle back literally means I won t have money for food. Even as I m writing this review I know you don t care but you all hurt me and my ability to pay for food. Shame on you.

Predators that sneak around in the middle of the night looking for college-aged students to prey on. My son was visiting some friends, didn t know about the parking decal requirement since he doesn t live in Clemson and has never lived in an apartment complex, and was towed. He had to pay $160+ to retrieve his vehicle from them. What a low life you must be to do run a company like that.

My car was towed due to a miscommunication with my apartment complex, and they agreed that it was a mistake on their end. They told me to tell Death Valley Towing to contact them when I was there to sort things out between the two parties. When I visited DVT to retrieve my car, I calmly explained the situation and did not blame them, but multiple employees ganged up on me, interrupted me, refused to listen to what I had to say, and were completely uncooperative with me or my apartment complex, which was entirely uncalled for. In the end I got screwed over by both parties involved with a towing fee that was oddly high as the cherry on top.Edit to reply to owner: Again, I am not blaming you for the miscommunication, and my apartment understands it was their fault for not giving me that information due to unique circumstances that aren't relevant to your business. My complaint is with my treatment by your employees, which was entirely undeserved.I imagine no notes were taken on my case because, again, I was interrupted and treated rudely by your employees, and it was clear that all they wanted was to take my money and for me to leave.

Predatory company that takes advantage of broke college students. The first couple of tows that friends and I have experienced, we let slide. They were debatable but probably our fault in the end. Today a guest got towed from my apartment complex for parking the exact same way they have parked multiple times and even overnight. After picking up the car, for $133 no less, we drove back to the apartment complex and counted 16 cars parked in either the same way my guest was or a way that the apartment complex deems "improper" (via their lease) just on one side of the complex. And God forbid you raise your voice to the employees and end up in their notes. I understand they aren't the ones that tow your car but they can also try to understand our frustration too. I hope the owners enjoy ripping off broke students who are just trying to make their way in life. I know all towing companies get a bad rapt, but there's a special place in hades reserved for death valley towing.

It's cliche to give towing companies negative reviews but we had a whole ordeal where they tried to tow cars parked legally on city property because the driver couldn't read his instructions. Another time they towed residents who had multiple years worth of stickers but not the one they were looking for. Some common sense is needed here.

Can you give a negative star rating?! Took a vehicle with the only car seat we have for my grandson. Would not stay open 2 minutes extra, to let us get the car seat.

2/2/23I understand that DVT is a business but my experience with them over the past 6 months has been horrible. For starters, they patrol the parking lots of apartment complexes looking to grab any easy tow, so they can get can cash out on the $140 charge that they hit you with when they tow your vehicle. I personally think they should only tow when they receive a call about an illegally parked vehicle. You would also think that if a car without a pass is blocked in by a car with a pass, they would assume the owner of the spot is ok with that vehicle being there. When I asked one of the drivers about this he said "No, I'll move that first car and "scoop" the second one." In one instance, a driver was going to tow a friend of mine out of my own spot since he did not have a pass, we noticed this and went out to talk to him before he hooked up the car to the tow truck. His response was "I already got the go ahead from my boss to tow this vehicle, I am towing it, or you can pay me now." I believe his name was Kelvin. If a resident can move the vehicle before you even have it hooked up, you should not make them pay for the tow. So, after numerous incidents, I called DVT to see if I can get them to just not tow any vehicles out of the parking spots that are owned by my particular apartment unit and was promptly told that was not how things worked. I am sure they will be patrolling my complex's parking lot again tomorrow and cash out on a $140 ticket. If you are on the board of an HOA or looking to use DVT for your complex, I highly recommend you avoid it, all they bring is disgruntled tenants. If DVT would like to contact me to further discuss my review, I will be happy to elaborate.EDIT 3/31/23For the second time this semester they have towed a car out of my spot and the pass was hung properly. Upon arrival their response was we are sorry everyone makes mistakes despite this being the second time this has happened. Not to mention the fact that when residents make a mistake it is $140, but when DVT makes a mistake it is a garbage apology and an hour of my time during a school day as well as my gas to go get the car that was wrongfully towed. Some decency would be to offer to bring back the car but I was told rudely come get the car . While I was on the phone with them they were trying to find any possible excuse to charge for the car that was towed. Once again if you are considering using them, I strongly advise against it. They are some of the most incapable people I have ever dealt with.9/10/23For the third time in a year, a car has been wrongfully towed out of my spot. No fix, no compensation for the time and gas I took out of my day to deal with this.. And not to mention it was a car that they had already wrongfully towed out of the same spot! Upon arrival they once again said "everyone makes mistakes" and that was it. I have asked time and time again, multiple phone calls and multiple visits to DVT that a car will not be towed out of my spots again, I would rather deal with someone in my parking spots then the headache of going there and dealing with these people. They have told us before that they usually have 1 or 2 wrongfully towed vehicles a year but have done it three times in my one spot alone this year. I cannot begin to fathom how horribly run this operation is and the amount of headache that comes from dealing with them on a day-to-day basis.Service: Car towing

I was trying to get my car towed to a mechanic on the weekend so they sent someone out but while the tow was on the way, the mechanic gave me a call back stating that they were closing early and would not be able to take my car in. The tow truck arrived and I apologized and informed him that I would not be needing his services today. Not only did he not charge me for coming out, he took a look under my hood and made a few suggestions of his own. Super friendly and helpful staff and their prices are super cheap!

This is my first experience with Death Valley Towing. An unfortunate situation caused Death Valley to be contacted to tow my car from Clemson to their business in Seneca. The tow driver arrived within 25 minutes or so. He was friendly and professional. He handled my car with care. The next day, I was told I could retrieve my car by 6pm. Despite my best efforts, I could not obtain a print out of the requested documents. Shortly before 6pm ( like 5:56pm) I met with Charlie and explained my situation. I did expect a hard time. I was extremely surprised ( and happy!) that Charlie not only listened to my tales of woe, but managed to input the necessary info for release of my car. Charlie and a gentleman stayed after the closing hour, just to assist me. Im very appreciative of the patience and professionalism I received. I recommend Death Valley Towing for all your towing needs.( Thank you, Charlie!)

Absolutely terrible, this establishment should be shut down. They are underhanded people who intentionally try and extort finances out of students who are already financially stretched, just because of how Clemson parking is set up. They are fully aware of this and intentionally try and abuse this just to make money. These people are snakes to say the least.

Highly predatory towing company, and it seems like everyone knows it at this point. My truck was towed from Hart s Cove by them. I was charged $140 to get my truck back which is outrageous considering most of the people who get towed in the area are broke college students like myself. I was parked in a non-visitor marked spot immediately next to the visitor spots as they were all taken. So technically, yes, I was in the wrong here and they did have a legal reason to tow my truck however some basic human decency would ve been appreciated especially considering more than half the parking lot was empty, so it s not like I was taking a space from someone else.Service: Car towing
