I've never in my life seen the owner of a company be so disrespectful of customers. I took my car for repairs and was quoted $174 per tire. I was never asked what tires I wanted. When I was told they quoted factory level tires at this price, I went up to the shop to see why the price was so high and why I was never asked about what tires I would want. I wanted to give them a chance to keep my business and explain. I never got the chance. My friend gave me a ride and expressed that she thought they were trying to rip me off. The owner started yelling from his office about the tire price and came out behind the front desk. He told us to leave. I tried to explain that I came up to speak with Dwight about the high quote. The owner wouldn't stop talking. I expressed that my friend shouldn't have said what she said but that he shouldn't be treating us this way. He asked her to leave and would not quit spouting off at her even though she had quit responding. I asked him to stop numerous times while I waited for my keys, informing him he'd now lost a customer. He would'nt stop running his mouth at my friend at which point I had to defend my friend. At this point he had made me quite mad. Of course he still couldn't keep from talking. They claimed my tires are cracked and dry rotted. Recently had them checked by a tire place and can see no evidence of this myself. This blatant disrespect of customers was like nothing I've ever seen. Use them at your own discretion. I surely won't be going back.

Rock Hill Automotive was excellent! On 3-20-2024, Dwight and the fine folks there got me back on the road in only 2 hours flat and that was from the time I called, broken down on I-77, subsequently being towed in, and the work (fuel line and fuel filter broke) completed. They indeed went the extra mile. I've told multiple people, not even from the Rock Hill area, that if you ever need automotive work done in the Rock Hill, SC, area, then Rock Hill Automotive is your go to automotive company. The entire staff at rock hill automotive was phenomenal! Dwight was incredibly helpful on the phone and in the shop. After the diagnostic was done on my car, there were very detailed notes and pictures. Incredibly satisfied! Very fair price and super friendly!

This is my second visit and I will continue coming back! They are friendly, professional, and honest. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer a shuttle service. However, I live locally, so I have been able to manage with Uber to drop off and pick up my car.

I was traveling through the area when my car shut down into limp mode due to electrical system problems. I was basically stranded; hours away from home and still an hour away from my destination. I was able to drive to Rock Hill Automotive - in 1st gear only - from the interstate. Even though they were extremely busy that day and said it wasn t likely that they could get to my car until the next day, they interrupted what they were doing to at least diagnose my car problems. Once they knew what caused the issue, they ordered parts and made the needed repairs.They were kind, understanding, and professional and they definitely went the extra mile to get me back on the road that same day. What a blessing!

There was smoke coming out from under my car hood and my heat gauge was nearly maxed out. I limped to this location as it was just off interstate and convenient. All the guys I spoke to were very friendly, seemed knowledgeable and offered immediate help. My car was roadworthy within 3 hours. I would highly recommend this business!

Awesome set of good ole boys who know their stuff. My poor dad has an old 1972 rare sebring that was in dire need of a tuneup due to a previous shops bad work. The car was running terrible and needed a tune up and new points on this old V8. A previous shop attempted to do the job and made it far worse. We then brought the car to Rock Hill automotive and the car mechanic named Carmelo did the car right and got it purring like a cat again. We were shocked at the difference these guys did on the tune up compared to the other shop we had taken it to. Super great guys wanting to do a job right. Hats off to these boys for making my dad happy with his car he loves so much. They made an old man happy to have his special ride back on the road sounding good.

I took a 2006 Cadillac dts into their shop for a oil leak.they told me it was my oil pan gasket and oil filter housing that was pouring oil.I gave them permission to fix the oil because this was my only car I had to drive.I pick my car up from the shop and turn right back around because my car started rattling. Shop manager and head mechanic came out and listen to it and said it was my catalyst converter.they said something may have come lose when they took it down.I ask them if they will they fix it because my car was not sounding like that when I bought in there. The shop manager goes to the computer and see how much it cost 2200 dollars and said no they won t pay for it.then I ask them will they go half on it with they tell me to go to a muffler shop and they will cut the converter out and put a straight pipe under there.I left there went to work the next day car still pouring oil.I called back to the shop and talk to me Dwight and told him my car was still leaking oil. He told me to bring it back in the will fix the problem.people I took it back in there they change the oil in the car and put dye in the engine and told me to come pick up the car and drive it and bring it back again.this was there job to drive and figure out where the oil leak was coming from.long story short.I got aggravated with them I didn t make a fuss or anything because they would have called the police and I get a arrested.so I took them to court and the judge ruled in their favor .they made up some lies saying my check engine was and it said my catalytic converter was messed now they didn t tell me that .I put my computer on there it was my oxygen sensor these people know how to manipulate the system and get away with it.this was unfair but nothing else I can do but put the truth out here and hope u all don t have to go threw what I been threw with them.I felt like because I was black and they was white is why they got away with this

For anyone who has seen my reviews (or rants) before, this is a must read!I'm am very judgmental and picky about local businesses; I DO NOT mind leaving bad reviews, when it's called for. I feel like local businesses should be doing much better work than the chained competition to show people they are better than the big dogs. I carefully pay attention to their customer service, and if it's for technical things I pay even more attention.The guys/team at Rock Hill Automotive are ... legitimately awesome and will NOT let you down! Let's define the word "awesome":"Something which inspires awe."Today, 4/5/18, their technical knowledge and customer service inspired awe! Not only did they do an amazing job, but they were extremely knowledgeable, incredibly courteous, and great guys! I thoroughly checked their work (on replacing my 2003 Mustang GT's intake manifold) and it looked perfect; I trust this place. The pictures do not show, but they even cleaned 'the valley' (a dip/recess between the heads where the intake manifold sits)! Thank you so much Ryan for your hard work! Do NOT think twice about coming here! If you need something done right, get it done right here.

I was an out of town visitor from Syracuse, NY. I needed the work done immediately. Desk manager was very kind to the point of even letting me borrow his personal car to grab some lunch down the road. One thing that should have been discussed with me, and I only thought about it after the fact was the type of brake pads being used. I usually buy the middle-of-the-road priced parts. I had to research what kind of pads were installed. Other than that I was an excellent visit.Service: Auto brake repair

My husband and I recently took my SUV to Rock Hill Automotive for A/C repair. It was our 1st time using their services but it will now be our permanent home for all our vehicles maintenance. Dwight was very kind and helpful getting us in for service. The mechanics were very thorough and knowledgeable. We are very satisfied with the overall quality of service and our customer service experience. The prices for their services seem very reasonable compared to other shops in the area. I had my clutch go out driving down the road and I googled transmission specialist near my home and found this place. They were quick, courteous, and knowledgeable. They kept me updated on every step of the repair. They were reasonably priced. Very quick turnaround. A few weeks later there was a malfunction in one of the parts not directly related to the repair but in the same area and even though that was not their responsibility or anything that they did wrong, they took care of the tow and the repair for free same day. With a a lot of people trying to just gouge your money, it's nice to find a place where they're just trying to do the best job they can for you.

We recently moved to SC and a friend recommended Rock Hill Automotive. We have taken two vehicles there and both times Dwight and his service team were amazing!! Do not recommend! My Honda Pilot broke down in RockHill while driving to NC. So i had it sent over to rockhill automotive. They diagnosed it and told me that the timing belt jumped time. $1400 fix. I asked if they were sure that the engine wasn t messed up because I watched it lock down. They said no. It wasn t. It just skipped time. So i replace the timing belt and the water pump. Then the day I pick it up they call me to pay. I pay over the phone and the manager tells me that the upper engine is making a ticking noise (it was making a slight noise before it broke down so I figured that s what it was). He tells me to have the valves looked at (never stated how serious it was). I tell him i need my car bc i had been stuck out of town at my job for over a week. I pick the car up and it s making a loud knocking noise (not a ticking noise). I drive the car maybe 20 miles and it breaks down. I had no choice but to drive it because i spent $75 on an Uber to get there. When I look at the receipt. It says that the timing belt broke. A timing belt jumping and a timing belt breaking are 2 different things. I have a family member call the shop and they offered to have the car towed but at this point i don t even want them touching the car anymore. They lied to me. I called back and the manager said that it only skipped time. It never broke. Well i don t know what to believe now because they said one thing but the paperwork says something else. I get into it with the manager because I m upset over losing $1400. If they had told me the timing belt broke i would have never fixed the car. Because 9 times out of 10 it bends the valves when the timing belt breaks when driving. The manager constantly calls me a liar because i told him the car was in Columbia and now it s in augusta. The car had to be towed to Columbia to my family house. And then towed back to augusta where I live. So now I m out 1400$ and i have a car that doesn t run. Will NEVERRRRR trust these people again. It s very clear that they lied and I wouldn t want them touching my car again because after the way the manager called me a liar a million times. I wouldn t trust them with a stolen vehicle.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My sons clutch went out on Friday night and was able to coast into Rock Hill Automotive by sheer luck and Gods blessing. Dwight the service manager was courteous and helpful and was able to have the repair done by Monday afternoon! Clean establishment and professional staff, God picked the right place to have my son coast into. I had never heard of this place before.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was having issues with my alternator on my 2004 Silverado and the Folks at Rock Hill Auto took care of it right away for me. They diagnosed the issues, consulted me on the problem, and I gave them the green light to fix the problem. They had it taken care of within hours and back on the road. The cost was fair and the service was great. They are not pushy and just fix what needs to be fixed. Would recommend them to anyone for service or repairs.EDIT: I have been a customer here now for over 6 years and have always been well taken care of. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in their shop, because they provide great service which is always above and beyond normal expectations. The managers are great to work with and always provide me with a great explanation of any potential issues I may need to be concerned about with my vehicles. Dwight and Ryan specifically always take the time to answer my questions related to repairs and potential issues and give me really great technical explanations for why things may be failing or need attention. It feels good to know I am not being taken advantage of every time I bring my cars in like some mechanics tend to do. Also, the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty from an independent shop is unheard of around here. That alone tells you they actually do care about their customers and backing up their work.

I read the previous reviews and was very impressed with what was said about this business. Unfortunately when I called to see how much it would cost to replace the engine oil pressure sensor and why I couldn t use the sensor I had already bought at NAPA I was told that they don t use parts bought by the customer. Then he completely hung up in my face. I can understand not using parts bought by the customer but for him to completely hang up the phone in my face because I questioned him was really rude and uncalled for. I guess Southern Hospitality doesn t exist anymore.

I was impressed how they treated every customer that came through the door. I waited for my rear brakes to be replaced and they went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable . They are e savvy and make a conscience effort to get you set up going right away. Their efforts are sincere and focus is maintained on the customer experience. Their team took exceptional care of my car and I will continue to use this location for all of my automotive repair needs.Services: Tire rotations, Brakes, Oil change
