Avoid this place at all costs. It's better to sleep in your car in a lot as opposed to this place. The management here has to be one of, if not the worst I've ever seen. The old man, who I presume to be the owner, is an inconsiderate prick. Booked a reservation to only be met with screams and threats of getting police involved. Thought I was in an episode of the twilight zone. Had to dispute the charge with my bank, as the old man who's angry at the world refused serve us, even after seeing our receipt for booking a room here. These people don't deserve your hard earned money.

All interactions with the hotel are done through a glass window. As a solo traveler I was concerned about my safety if the person checking me I didn t feel comfortable checking in their customers face to face. No maid service throughout my entire four day stay, which was not explained at check-in. Nor was the additional credit card transaction fee. On the third day I requested towels, at the window, and received them, but they weren t clean. No sure if it was makeup or blood, but it looked as if it happened after they were washed. The bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Next time I stay in the area I ll choose a different hotel.

Gary and his wife were very kind and accommodating as we ended up staying a couple more days than planned due to the hurricane and the weather. They were able to work with us on getting us a nice clean and fresh room. The room was newly renovated housekeeping service was friendly and accommodating. Fresh towels and extra supplies upon request at any time. They even allowed for us to come in super late on the first night and we re willing to prepare our room after midnight. Thank you Mr. Gary for making our stay spectacular! We have stayed in a Oyo hotel once before in Branson Missouri. Glad to see that the brand and standard is across the board the same. A nice low cost place that is neat and tidy! We will be back next time we re here!

We were looking for a quick easy place to overnight as we were driving along I 95 late, we didn t want to spend much, but all the other places in the reasonable price range had some really bad reviews. I took my chances on this one and was extremely impressed! It was exactly what we re looking for. It s a motel style, so no big hallways. It was clean, quiet, and extremely comfortable. perfect for the overnight traveler!

I booked a two night reservation through Booking.com. Everything was fine until we were locked out the second day. The man in the office said our reservation was only one night. He continued to argue with me until I pulled up the reservation on my cell phone. He then unlocked our room. Later, I showed him where Booking.com charged me the whole reservation as a cancellation fee, stating the property advised them that I never showed up. I was charged at the property as well. He said he would take care of it on Monday, because it was the weekend. He said I didn't have to be "dramatic", because I just wanted to leave at this point. Both times I needed to speak with someone, nobody came to the office, and the housekeeper (who works in her pajamas), had to find him. He never took care of it. I was charged by the property, and Booking.com, who sent me an email saying they never charged me. They asked for a screenshot of the charge on my bank statement, which I sent them, and I have never heard from them again. While staying at the motel, we asked the pajama-clad housekeeper for some towels and toilet paper. She said she didn't have any supplies, (she was standing at her cart) and she would be down in 10 minutes. She never came. We had breakfast at the nearby Waffle house the next morning, and had to take a bunch of napkins, so we could go to the bathroom. When we checked in, there was only half a roll of toilet paper in the room. If the staff can't pull it together enough to get dressed before work, I can't really expect much else. Never Never again.

Very disappointed in this place. The rate was decent & it had great reviews, so I felt confident booking ahead of my trip. Boy, was that a mistake. Firstly the woman at the front desk didn't even greet me through the tiny plexiglass window between us (I had no choice but to stand outside, as they closed the lobby due to covid). They made a horrible attempt at covering the nastiness of the room with paint. Almost every surface was dirty (the baseboards were disgusting), there was no glass plate in the yellowed microwave, stained floors. Just gross.

The room was dirty. There was something dripped down the front of the dresser, there was a pool of brownish liquid in the bottom of the fridge, the front of the tub was dirty and there was a bug that had been squashed prior to our arrival in the shower and not cleaned, and there were dirty spots on the floor. In addition, the phone didn't work and some of the lights didn't work in the room either. There didn't appear to be bed bugs from my search, so I decided it wasn't worth changing hotels. It was fine for one night of sleep during our long travel, but I would never stay again. Disappointed they advertised on their website to "book your sanitized room", when they couldn't be bothered to do the bare minimum of cleaning.

When I say this is the nastiest room you could ever rent I m not capping, there were roaches, a ring around the toilet like it had never been cleaned, the comforter was disgusting if you do decide to stay here anyway please make sure you bring shower shoes because from the looks of the tub you will definitely get gangrene. Its going to be a no for me.

Was in a room that didn t lock. Came into town for family birthday and on our way out we tried to lock the door from inside. It wouldn t. So we went outside and was able to push door open without a key. Smdh. I could only imagine if we didn t check, all our stuff would be gone. Owner switched rooms with no problem and was very apologetic but I know they knew. How could you not. For the price it was good, need better housekeepers.

The owner of this hotel was the nicest man I have ever met. He was over sold actually and had been turning people away for the last hour when we arrived. We were trying to drive back home from vacation in one day, but traffic was really bad and my 4 year old was sick so we had to stop. The owner went and cleaned a room for us. The room was beautiful and the beds were so soft. I was so thankful that he took the extra time to help us.

The owner was very nice, but that doesn't make up for the room. It smelled gross, hot water didn't work in the sink, and the bathroom was disgusting. I don't think the room was cleaned before we arrived and it hadn't had a deep cleaning in months or more. Just understand that this is the type of hotel where people live. Shady, unclean, unsafe feeling place.

Absolutely terrible experience and we never even got to stay the night! I had booked a room about 2 weeks before our trip. Drove over 3 hours to get to the hotel and didn't get there until about 11:30pm.... when we got there I went to check in and the lady that came to the counter (after I waited for over 10 minutes) was the rudest individual I have ever met in my life. I gave the lady my confirmation number and name and she spent MAYBE 30 seconds looking in the system for my reservation before telling me there was no reservation. So I tried to show her my email confirmation and she didn't even bother to look, just told me again how there was no reservation. When I tried to ask about a refund or any room being available she walked away, didn't even try to help me or to resolve my issue (by then it was midnight). Do not give this place your business because it even took me a couple of weeks to finally get a refund. Wish I could give no stars.

Started off a little rough as we were asked to wait a couple hours because our room was not ready because the people in it asked for a late check out. So we did our laundry, had lunch and the room still wasn t ready, so they put us in a different room but I don t think it was as good as what we should have had. Other than that everything was good. Nice clean room, staff was friendly and helpful. It s a short walk to the historical section of town..

Ridgeland East is perfectly set in the heart of Ridgeland. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished. It overlooked a small busy plaza. Very nice for people watching while the extra glass enclosure on the small balcony kept the room totally quiet. There is a lovely rooftop lounge and place with great views over the city. The breakfast buffet is ample with a nice variety of fresh items.

The place was okay. I was not expecting the building to look how it is and I was a little disappointed. My two day trip was 150. Again, I WAS NOT expecting to be staying at a broken down lodge. My room matched the picture. That's all. No iron, very basic cable, no breakfast. A lot of false advertising. The bed was comfy though. I will not be back.

Very happy with our room and the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very well laid out with pastries cheese and ham. Lots of fruit. Complimentary afternoon tea is a nice touch. The location is stunning with views over the rooftops to the Central. Superb.

I travel for work delivering furniture and stay at countless hotels. I stayed at this location a couple months ago and had a great experience. I rarely stay at the same place twice but it happens I ended up at the Ridgeland OYO again last night. Extremely kind people, very warm and welcoming. There's a reason this hotel is rated higher than others in the area while being considerably cheaper.

This was my fourth time staying at SC Ridgeland East and now it has feels like a home away from home. It was my first time staying in one of the junior rooms though, and we were pleasantly surprised at how big it is. It was very clean as well. As usual the staff were friendly upon check in. The breakfast is always good, and the lady at the breakfast bar is always helpful.

We arrived for a two night stay in Ridgeland. It's a great location about 30 seconds from the central. The staff are very helpful - advised us on where bars / restaurants are.The room was lovely with a huge bathroom. There is free tea and cake at 4-6pm. And you can take the food up to the terrace which is nice.

Okay, so my mom lives in Ridgeland, SC so I am familiar with the area. When I saw the 5 star review and read some of the "reviews" as soon as I stopped lol at the obvious fiction, my family and I drove to see if per the reviews, this area of Ridgeland has turned into more than the small Southern town I know it to be. Oh it hasn't! My kids and I had a ball reading the reviews and then looking for the descriptions! One of the reviews talked about a "picturesque view" My son said, "is it behind the abandoned gas station?" I didn't stay. When we drove past the rooms, a number of the room doors were open (I assume maybe they were going to be cleaned because there was someone pushing a cleaning cart) so looking through the doors, it looked fine, but the truth is, locals are encouraged, weekly rates, $36 dollars a night, and there was a pile of bicycles parked to the side. That is the culture of the true OYO Hotel. I don't have the feeling of concierge service or quick walk to Walk of Fame (Ridgeland doesn't have that) or close Newark (which is in NJ) My issue is the pristine reviews all from 3 to 2 months ago that are either fake or for some other hotel. Don't be bad liars. Folks who will pay $36 for a hotel room know not to expect concierge service and will expect basic. So my rating has to do with the inauthentic reviews. The game reviews scared me from staying there

Fantastic location. Arrived early after a long flight. Was able to have our room straight away, which was the best thing we could hope forReception was friendly and very helpful with everythingOrganized a taxi through them at a reasonable priceStayed for 5 nights, we wanted a hotel close to the Dolby Theatre for a show we were attending and we got in. A minutes walk to shopping mall right at Dolby theatre, only think I didn't like was the alley to it, it was area where food deliveries are made to neighboring hotels & mall so stunk a wee bit but this is nothing to do with Ridgeland East .This hotel has an excellent location, being just a few steps away from SC and its Walk of Fame and the Dolby Theatre. It is very good value for money - just do not expect 5 star accommodation. Breakfast is included; comprising toast, croissants, coffee, boiled eggs, jam and butter The staff members are polite and helpful. We stayed 3 nights at the Ridgeland East and were very happy with the accommodation. Pros - most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever slept on, great laundry facilities (only $1.50 per load plus $0.75 for powder) , very spacious rooms and a great place.I read the reviews and the positive comments prompted me to make a booking, I'm glad I did. Although very close to the action, the Ridgeland East are a relaxed sanctuary. The staff here is lovely, very helpful and happy to make your stay enjoyable. We visited Universal Studios and were very pleasantly surprised how good and easy to use the Metro system was. If you want to feel safe and valued during your stay in SC, then I can recommend The Ridgeland EastThis hotel is of such good value that I am motivated to write my first review after using for a long time. With a truly reasonable price, it has everything my family needs such as good breakfasts, stoves, microwave, free wifi and printer. Friendly services and great location. Highly recommend! We stayed at SC Ridgeland East in March with our three children. We couldn't believe how good the location was, literally around the corner from everything. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Even with the extra rollaway bed in the lounge room there was plenty of space to move around. The staff were the highlight - so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We'll definitely stay here again.Brilliant place to stay very friendly staff sensational location and the staff at breakfast are worth the visit alone very good.Very quiet at night but close to everything you need to do in SCThis was my third stay with the Ridgeland East. I love it here, the staff are all lovely and helpful, the location is fantastic and great value for the area. The rooms are a great size, having a kitchen is great and if you have a balcony room it's a total bonus.I want to thank the staff for another great stay - hopefully it won't be so long between stays next time! This was my fourth time staying at SC Ridgeland East and now it has feels like a home away from home. It was my first time staying in one of the junior rooms though, and we were pleasantly surprised at how big it is. It was very clean as well. As usual the staff were friendly upon check in. Just spent 2 nights here and had the BEST stay! The customer service here went above and beyond all my expectations. My son had his heart set on a Japanese steakhouse and Error called several places (even calling me back!) and was able to find the most amazing place to eat and celebrate my daughter s birthday in STYLE! Also, Donald did a great job helping me the next day with an unexpected parking situation. Ridgeland East, you ve got 2 great employees in these two!!!

Let me just say overall we enjoyed the stay. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were a little hard but some may like that. When you look at the room it looks clean but its not as clean as you would hope. There is a lot of damage to the walls and you can see the filth on corners of the bathroom. It was quite annoting to hear the garbage guys so early in the morning. They woke our entire family as we all wanted to sleep past 7. You get basic cable and a fridge freezer and microwave. That was a pleasent surprise as we wanted to freeze a few things for our trip. Dont walk around to the back. It looks as though a camp of homeless people came through and left there trash and broken garbage they found. Hopefully they clean the land around the place soon. If your looking to just sleep its a good place to lay down. Sheets were soft and it got cool enough in the room to get some rest.

Me and my wife decided to take the weekend off for ourselves and decided to spend it in Oyo Hotel in Ridgeland. Although its location was not ideal, the hospitality was great and room was cozy. The manager was generous and went out of his way to make our stay relaxing and fun. My wife and truly enjoyed ourselves and if possible would like to stay again. It's a grat getaway in a little town.

Don't just walk away from this place...FLEE!!! The fact that this is a rusty dusty slumlord-feeling place, in DESPERATE need of repairs, is not as serious as the fact that these people are crooks!!! I was emailed a quote the day before of what my total fees would be...including taxes and some kind of hotel tariff/service fee. However, upon checkin i noticed there was an additional 8% fee added. He seemed agitated that i noticed it, and even more so that i questioned it. When i insisted upon a response, he told me it was because i was using a credit card. I accessed the emailed quote and advised him there was no mention of any kind of variance in payment terms based on the method used for payment. He gestured with his hands that he was dismissing the email and that i needed to focus on what he was saying. He was trying to convince me that the quote was for cash payment only. I attempted to share with him the entire email, as there was no such reference, but he stated the people that send the quotes aren't aware of the cash vs credit terms. Had i not been in desperate need of a bath and rest, i would have exited the premises immediately! Even the next red flag of pulling up to my assigned room with housecleaning standing in the doorway with her cart, blasting the television and socializing with another person, should have caused me to run for the hills! Once the cleaning lady told me she would be done in about 30 minutes, instead of that pushing me over the edge, I simply returned to "the crook" at the check-in desk and told him the room wasn't ready. He assigned a different room and once i entered, i was sorry that I'd ever stumbled across an OYO property. That's when I was pushed over the edge! (The pictures i've attached will tell the story better than i ever could!) In fact, i returned to check-in to cancel but naturally, was refused a refund. Not only did the room have a moldy odor to it, the fridge was FILTHY, with some dark drink spilled from the top to the bottom. Bedspread, filthy! Towels, filthy! Toilet, rusty and "ringy" (rust and/or urine rings). Floor, dirty. Walls, separating and dirty. I needed a drink....and I've never even tasted alcohol! I stepped outside the room to look for the vending area....more disgust! The soda machine has pics of name brand drinks. What's returned are generic versions. That's when i decided to make a formal complaint. The first two numbers i dialed would redirect me back to the hotel's front desk. I quickly realized it was because their telephone system was tracking my phone number. So i used a different phone. I was redirected to India who redirected me back to the hotel's front desk. I drove to the nearest rest area and slept there! I've done my best to warn you!
