As a visitor to North Myrtle Beach I didn t know of any car service stations. I need a minor, but critical, repair for my car, and picked this location as it had good reviews and was close to where I was staying. I was at the service location on Poinsett street at opening time, and was served immediately. Even though the service took ~30 minutes - and it was done very well - I was not assessed any charges!! Great service and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

We were visiting from New Jersey when the check engine light came on we were supposed to be heading home the next morning. Mr Smith and his mechanic were kind and very professional had us up running only 1 day later we are so grateful!

Took my car in at the beginning of July to get the AC fixed. Half the car runs hot, half the car pumps outside air. Takes 2 days and the Old Guy tells me the ac compressor needed fixed, it'll cost $1500. Said they tried putting a can in it for diagnostic and charged me.So i save the 1500, called saturday, and was told bring it Tuesday. Go to take the car in, old guy doesn't even remember diagnosing the car. Tells me I "must be confused. Oh hell (hes) seen 100 cars since then. Is it leaking freon? Whats wrong with it? Do you mean the catalytic converter? Must have talked to the other guy, hes not here......." ummmmm no old timer I've only ever dealt face to face with you.Seriously? You don't have records? So I basically paid you for what exactly? Did you even work on my car when I left it last? When I told him what he charged for the can he said there's no way it would have been that low, making me doubt it was ever done.Bottom line, unreliable.End of the day, I'll find someone else who wants my money and isn't "confused."Update: took my car elsewhere. SMITHS lied and did not put any coolant in the car.They also disconnected the compressor to try and sell me one. F these guys. They're crooks.***conclusion: what was wrong with the car? The blend Actuator. 22$ part and took someone literally 10 minutes to put in.

We got to Myrtle Beach on Saturday. Drove 16 hours and upon arrival our right front tire started smoking. Took it to Smiths and owner said it could be the caliper. Got us an appointment Tuesday and had our van done- including a new brake line- within 3 hours.Most honest man we have ever met and the most reasonable price ever.I don't often give 5 star reviews- I would give him and his business a 5! Not everyday you find people like him. Thank you.

The night before we were supposed to head back to Tennessee from our MB vacation, my son s front brakes on his Corolla started screeching and vibrating badly. I certainly didn t want my son to drive the car 350 miles home like that. So I called Smith s when they opened at 8 am on a Saturday and they were not only able to fit us in; but new front brake pads and rotors were installed and the car was ready for pickup in about two hours. And at a very reasonable price to boot. Highly recommend this independent shop!Service: Brakes

Have been bringing cars here for years. I would rate his business 1000**stars if possible. He is the most knowledgeable, honest, kind, caring person and fair priced mechanic I've ever dealt with. I trust his judgement and ability with my car 200%, and recommend to all.

Wow, I am so impressed. I am from out of town and we are staying here the week. Our "check charging system" light came on so we wanted to get everything squared away prior to heading home.I dropped in, the two men got me right in and checked the battery and alternator. They told me my battery was fine and alternator was working properly at the moment.This integrity speaks volumes! They could have taken me for $700 very easily, but they care about people more than that ! I am a life long customer now!

These guys are amazingWe had our check engine light with a few more lights come on as we are about to drive home to MA.We called and as we showed up Eric came out with the diagnostic machine and gave us a rundown. Luckily it was only a loose gas cap. He reset us and we were on our way.Angel dudes.. excellent all aroundVery knowledgeable

We were getting ready to head home from our vacation when our van started acting funny and the engine light came on. I called as soon as they opened and they had us come right in and diagnosed and fixed the problem right away! An hour later we were able to start our 12 hour ride home and arrived safely. After arriving on vacation and discovering that the A/C on our car no longer worked, I called Smith's to take my car in. He was able to look at my car the same day and took care of the repair to restore comfort to our journey. This is a mom and pop place and the price was right. However, he did not accept credit cards so possibly be prepared for that. Overall, great service and remedy to our problem!Service: Auto A/C recharge

Best repair place around for all kinds of automobiles. It can take a little bit of time, as good service is usually worth waiting for. Make sure you check the price before you leave your automobile oh, it could be a shocker. But the service is always first-rate and you do not have to go back or worry about getting shafted by unknowns. Good, honest service.

We were on vacation and had to have our front and back brakes done. They were prompt in getting us in and professional in service. Billy made sure that our vacation was not interrupted and loaned us his vehicle until ours was ready. He was very kind and courteous throughout our whole experience. Mr. Smith and Brett were so helpful, polite and gracious. They ran diagnostics & identified the problem; brought in Tuesday at 3:30, ready at 10:30 Wednesday! Brett drove me back to the resort & told me a little about the garage: open since 1961 and has never advertised, just word of mouth! I can believe it, too!

My husband could not remove our headlight bulb to replace it. Called Eric and he said to stop by. Eric had the same issue but would not give up. He kept trying for at least 30 minutes and finally got the bulb removed. Eric did not give up and then said no charge! What great service from someone we had never even met before! Moved here from NY, needed a mechanic to do some work on my wife's vehicle initially. Found him online, called him up and he got me right in. Was very honest and fair on price. I then needed work done on my Jeep, he fixed the problem didn't try to tell me there was a handful of other problems and charged me very reasonably. I would definitely recommend this man to anyone that needs work done, even if you live a ways. He is worth the drive!

We towed our camper down from Ohio and one of the brakes seized up on the truck. Called Smith s first thing the Monday morning and they were able to fit me in right away. They assessed and replaced the caliper and I was out of there in an hour. They were very efficient and understanding of our situation. I would highly recommend them for your auto service needs especially if you are in a pinch. Owner and his grandson were very nice to speak with. They ve been in business for a long time and it shows why.

This man is an angel wrapped in flesh!!!! We found the most honest mechanic here that helped us in a pinch. We are from Texas and had our truck serviced before we took the 17 hour trip to Myrtle Beach. We were 2 days into our trip and our truck overheated. We were in between a horseback riding reservation on our way to our dolphin cruise and had about 45 minutes to grab some lunch on the way when the truck.suddenly overheated. I checked google and Steve had the best rating, so I called him and he said he would check it out while we went to our dolphin cruise. We dropped it off and they got right to work on it. After our cruise we ubered back and he said our radiator water was a little low, but there was no leak. He thinks they missed this at the service check and this is why we had a problem and REFUSED TO TAKE ANY PAYMENT FROM US BECAUSE HE DIDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG!!!! He asked us to bring it by in a couple days so he could check it again before we left town. WOW! Never have I, in all my life, found such an honest, kind-hearted man! Please, please go give this man your money!

So beyond thankful for this auto repair shop! The water pump on our truck went out while we were in North Myrtle for vacation. Thankfully our condo was only a mile from the shop and we re were able to drive it there without fear of overheating the engine. They were able to the replace the water pump the same day they we brought it to them! The mechanics at Smiths service center were absolute blessings! Just keep in mind they only accept cash or checks!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I needed to get an experts advise on a car issue. Being from out of town I needed to get it checked out. The guys at smiths were courteous and said drop it off and they would take a look. Put it up on rack and did a check. I can go home without worry. Thanks Smiths. Great service

I bought a used car and an idiot light was on. A friend Gina recommended them as honest, fair priced and actually had integrity...and boy were they right!! Top to bottom and bottom to top, they exceeded my expectations in every way. Thanks guys!!!

The serpentine� belt on my van broke the night before� we were to head home from vacation so we were in a scramble� to find a place that was opened on a Saturday� morning. I had called another� place who insisted� belts dont just break and tried to tell me something� was seized� up and went on about things that would need fixing. I knew better and that he was just trying to make a killing� off an out of towner. I called Smith's and he told me to bring it on in and he would have it fixed by 1:00 he quoted� me a very reasonable� price� also. We dropped� my van off with him and in no time he had us back on the road with a fixed van at the price he quoted. Mr. Smith is a very nice man and never tried� to take advantage of our situation.� I would highly� recommend� Smith's service center if you find yourself� in need.

I have lived in Myrtle Beach for the last 8 years. I'm REALLY particular about my truck and the servicing of it. I've been taking my F150 to Mr. Smitty for all of that time, and have never been disappointed. As long as I live here, I won't be going anywhere else! Mr. Smitty is a great guy and he ALWAYS does an outstanding job, at a more than fair price. If you don't think good, honest mechanics exist, then you haven't been to Smiths Auto Service. Awesome people who provide great service!!

Owner was very nice! Drove down from NC, had a brake issue. He replaced brake pads on my Nissan Armada. Highly-rated in my opinion!
