We took our 2019 Jetta for an oil change. Right after we got the oil change the light of the oil level came on so we took back the car. They checked the car and the guy that works at the counter named Glenn told my husband that the oil was good so it was probably an issue with the sensor. Weeks later the car started to make a grinding sound, an alert of the oil pressure came on and the EPC light came on. We took the car to Stokes. When the car was being diagnosed at Stokes THERE WAS NO OIL IN IT but it had spilled all around the tray underneath and the ground. They told us the oil had come out because American Tires had reused a single use oil plug, used a different oil that the one this car calls for and didn t screw properly the oil cap. A simple oil change put at risk our engine!We called American Tires and spoke with John whenever we towed the car to Stokes, but whenever we had the diagnosis John wouldn t answer our phone call nor call us back. My father in law had to go personally to talk to him, John said he was going to get back to him but it s been about 2 months and we haven t heard from him. We were only asking for $416, which was the diagnosis fee and oil change cost, we didn t even include the towing service or the two weeks that we had to leave our car at Stokes (for Thanksgiving we weren t able to leave town how we always do). Be careful! We thought we were going to save $10 or $15 getting our oil change here but it could have cost us our engine! Not worthy.

I came in with a flat and they plugged it before I could check out. My card was acting up and they worked with me to get through it. They are kind and understanding and I will 100% come back for any tire issues I have in the future.

I'm from out of town and had a blowout. Went online and found these guys so I stopped by and they gave me a great deal on all four tires. They even put 2 guys to work on my car and make sure I was in and out in no time. Only God could have turned this day into such a great experience. If you need tires or service this is the place to go.

I'm from out of town and was a walk in Needed a tire repaired and put spare on matching rim and plugged tire on spare rim. American tire fixed me right up. Place is very clean and well kept. Very Professional and courteous. Thank You!

They're always "too busy"...treat customers like it's a bother to deal with them n won't be specific about PRICE.I popped in bc my low beam bulb needed to be replaced.He said "no time...but it shouldn't be crazy high..."I came back the next day...ten minutes later he tells me it's $105.00!!!I even gave them a new bulb! So I threw a fit ...the guy loses it n says "screw it...it's free then!"I said "no! I want to pay a FAIR PRICE!"He says...just pay what you want...I wrote a check for $50.

Mechanic and receptionist I originally spoke to were great, Glen was not.I stood waiting for him to acknowledge me while he yelled at his computer.I was not happy when he continued to take calls then greeted a man behind me and then turned to me with Lady when I asked to pay for the service on my car.

They are the best shop in town... your family the minute you walk in. Gene and John both go out of their way to not only serve you but to give you the best deals and the lowest rates! They pick you up at home and bring you to your vehicle... what else could I say?! 10 stars with a 5 star rating . American Tire.. #1 stop shop.....

Went here for a new tire and they worked around a situation I was in. 2 people helped me, but I only got Spencer's name. He was super friendly and they seem to have a genuine interest in getting to know their customers and making sure they're taken care of. Will probably be going back for future services, they seem like genuine and honest people here.

Very nice, honest people. When 2 different tire choices couldn t tell me the issue & kept trying to get me to buy unnecessary things, American tire immediately knew what I needed & was the cheapest for repairs in town. I recommend

Highly recommend local tire center! Support Local!I do local route sales in the Charleston area and I got a nail in work vehicle. I pull in expecting to wait for awhile, but I was in and out within 20 minutes.Thank You

I needed a repaired tire on my vehicle. I had a time to arrive & not only had the tire put on that was repaired, but the mechanic found another issue w/another tire & brought it to my attention!I was in & out w/in an hour, greeted kindly & informed of the progress and was only charged a minimum amount. I recommend American Tires to everyone. Courteous help, informative mechanics and very reasonable rates. Give them a try the next time you have tire issues. I believe you will be very happy with their services and rates.

The employment shortage is real... We're all aware of it. I went in a day to get four brand new tires and even though it took several hours because they only had two mechanics and there was an incident it took even more time the people were still very pleasant and it was actually quite nice... My only suggestion would be get a TV for the lobby

This place was amazing! I had a flat tire and ended up at the gas station next door. 2 of the employees came and offered to put my spare tire on for me. I decided to check their price for a new one and they had the best price of anybody I talked to. Rachel at the front desk was so sweet to me and my dog and made sure we had everything we needed. I will be back when I need anything else tire related.

Called around town to get the best tire deals and Mr. Pete was so awesome!!! He ordered my tires at a great price. I made an appointment first thing in the morning the next day and I was out in 20 mins! I also had my check engine light on and whatever they did to my car turned the notification off without any extra charge. I'm so pleased and thankful for what they did! They definitely have excellent customer service. I will definitely go back and recommend them to all my friends and family!!!!!

Took my car in and they offered me the service I needed free of charge Which was wonderful. I get a call that my car is ready but one of my sensors are broken. A sensor that was working fine when I brought it in, the sensor is the reason I knew I had a problem to begin with so if it wasn t working how did I know I had a problem? So they basically broke it removing the valve stem due to lack of knowledge of properly removing those sensors without damaging them and then tried to say it was damaged when I brought it in... I didn t argue because it would of been pointless so instead here s a review of my experience, I wouldn t recommend them to anyone and I definitely won t be back. Definitely go with anyone but American Tire. No wonder the service was free thanks a lot, the sensor cost more than than my original problem.
