I moved to Myrtle Beach a year ago and had not found a reliable mechanic until now. My car broke down and I had to find a repair shop. I have had bad experiences since I moved here with other mechanics including the dealership. I knew what needed to be fixed was super expensive and of course when something like that breaks down it is always the worst time financially. I prayed about it and looked at reviews and decided to call Garys Auto. From the very start I had excellent customer service! They made me feel like they knew me personally. Not only did they do an excellent job fixing my car, they did it very fast and for not even a fraction of what the price could have been. They are definitely my new mechanic!! Thank you for your excellent service!

I was visiting the United States and my engine was making a hell of a noise.It was a real pleasure dealing with Blaine and his team.Thanks to his very professional approach, he was able toreassure me that he was the man for the job by taking the time to answer all my questions.My truck was repaired in a very reasonable time and restored to its original sound.I can now safely return to Canada without breaking my ears.Thank you "Gary's Auto" for your excellent service!Jean-Pierre and Johanne

I had gotten a muffler job done. The service was great and the people that worked there was excellent, polite and friendly. The prices are reasonable and fare. I would recommend them to everyone who need car service.

We took our beloved 65 Mustang to the shop for an upgraded exhaust system. Before the work began, Rock discussed all our options and cost. Made an appointment and the work started only a few days after our initial discussion. We could not be more pleased with the quality of work done by Rock; meticulous with attention to detail. He treated our car as if it was his own. Can t say enough about the exemplary service we received. Thanks Rock. Blaine, you have a terrific team at the shop. Last week while traveling to Myrtle Beach from Cleveland, we experienced some car problems with my daughters Dodge Caravan. Nothing too serious, I was able to drive to a Walmart close by and tie it up temporarily until we arrived and were able to have it repaired while we vacationed. I looked around Google and found Gary s and read some of their reviews and decided to go with them because not only did they have great reviews, the price they quoted over the phone was the most reasonable I had received. Honestly I can say the work they did was fantastic. I usually handle all my car repairs so I tend to be a little more of a pain in the butt customer when I must let someone else do the repairs. They did everything I would ve done and better. Gary was a very personable man and I enjoyed talking to him about politics and fishing. His tips helped me land my first shark ever which I ll never forget and my son in law also caught one too!! We plan on traveling back every year from now on and in the event we ever have any car issues I will definitely 100% take my car there from now on. Their price was beyond fair and the quality of work was above par by far. Thank you Gary and Casey for helping us have a fantastic time and all your hard work as well.

Came in for partial exhaust. Quote was quick and easy. Everyone up front and in the back were great people through and through. Didn't charge an arm and a leg for the work and I would 100% trust them to do any repair to my vehicle 100% of the time. Probably one of the best shops I've ever been to between the east coast and Midwest.Pic below is what they had to deal with replacing, I will be back to get it finished out.

Maybe when Gary owned it it was a good shop, but run from the new owners. Back in May I had header gaskets installed on my 2016 Ram. Brought it back yesterday for an exhaust noise it has a broken stud in the flange, and one of the header exhaust bolts fell out. The new owner said they won't warrantee it. Mechanic told me all they've been doing is warranty work from when Gary owned it. And they won't help me. Run from this place stay awayService: Exhaust

Gary's is a well established auto/exhaust shop here in Socastee.They do really great work, but as a consequence of being skilled at what they do, they're always backed up with cars for folks. Don't expect quick turnaround do to that fact. They do ALOT of custom exhaust and automotive work for folks who have nice older vehicles like my old 4x4 Suburban. You can expect great work for your money, just be prepared to have to leave to your vehicle with them for a while...

Was quoted a price over the phone for around $295 came to the shop the next day and the price doubled. Only wanted simple work done I would not recommend any company that does not provide a realistic quote or even honor a discounted price for a bad quote. Just bad business

These guys work on all my cars. They are honest, do great work, and prices are reasonable. And they are just nice guys. The tire came off my brother's wheelchair ine day and I took it up to them to see if they could fix it. Let me tell you it was no easy task. It took three guys, a couple of tire irons and at least 20 mins. They would not take payment or even a tip. Love this place and the people who work there. I highly recommend.

Beyond amazing folks. Called up for an emergency exhaust issue. Young lady told me to bring it in. Showed up mechanic came and got the truck let it cool down for a few put the repair on it and me and the family were on the way. Maybe 20 minutes total. 10/10 recommend and will be back if i ever. Need anything

Our first trip to Myrtle Beach(from Atlanta area) started off with our car taking a dirt nap on us. Gary's Auto was literally right there when the car was acting up, only six miles from our destination, so we pulled in and asked for assistance. Long story short, our 2013 Hyundai Tuscon with only 70k miles had the engine croak. I can't speak to the actual repair as we are going to have to work with Hyundai dealership with that, but the care, consideration and overall friendliness of Blaine and his staff was beyond any expectations. Seriously, very genuine folks that I would recommend to anyone to care for their vehicle.

I never write reviews, but I felt obligated to write this one about Gary s auto. My Lexus had a lot of mechanical problems, and Gary s auto took care of everything so quickly that I was truly amazed. Blaine offered to give me a ride when I was without my car and gave me a price beyond fair. If anyone needs a trustworthy mechanic and doesn t want to get screwed over this is the spot.

My son and I brought in his 2013 RS Camaro to get an exhaust quote. We were going to buy an after market system and have Rock install it. He instructed us just to buy the axle back kit instead of the whole cat back kit because he could save us some cash and make the cat back pipes with the H section himself. We agreed to the quote and ordered the parts. Fast forward a week later and we dropped the car of with the axle back kit and waited for the call to come and get it. My phone rang about an hour later and it was Rock.He told me that the car already had a dual exhaust system installed with the H pipe and all he had to do was install the axle back kit. I never would have known this and with Rock and Gary's Auto & Exhaust being 100% HONEST and upfront with me, saved me a few hundred dollars. As long as we live in Myrtle Beach, they will have my business. Go there with 100% confidence, you will not regret it.

The staff at Gary s auto are awesome! They are honest, fair and diligent. I can t thank them enough for their hard work. It s hard to trust car repair places but I never felt that way with them. Blaine answered all my questions and helped me so much! Thank you

Very expressive. I got a lower price from the dealership but decided to do the 15 min project myself I was quoted 1.5 hrs. for a simple door check and they said you can only get oem from Ford for almost $200 bucks when I found it online under $40.For some reason I can't reply so here is the reply:My response to the oil change for $50 was high since I usually get it done for about $30. The OEM part is $118. You priced it over $180. Dealer labor from software says about 50 minutes but that's for slow folks. You estimated an hour and a half to pop a door panel and three bolts.

He told me to bring my car in early as possible and even tho i didn't get there until 11:00 they didn't complain or utter one bad word only thing they ask me was can you leave the car? I left the car and no more than 2 hours later they told me i can pick it up and he even gave me a better price than originally that was set, i got in my car fired it up and woooooboooobooooo i was extremely satisfied and it sounded alot better than i expected excellent job guys! im bringing another one of my rides here as this will be the 3rd vehicle they worked on for me so if you looking for good quality craftsmanship at a great price and docome see these guys.

Amazing customer service. I've come two weeks 1 row to have a wheel bearing pressed and I've gotten immediate service. Today I came at 4:20 they close at 5. Once again they helped me out. Awesome mechanics that do an outstanding job. Thanks again I greatly appreciate your help!!

I told Blaine that I had only a certain amount of money for job to be done and knowing that price they still only charged me a fraction of the cost...I am so happy I went here. I highly recommend! Thanks Blaine... there are still some honest people out there.

Is so difficult to find a Auto Technician that is talented and more importantly honest. The old adagio "don't judge a book for its cover", applies here.Lee and his Team are good in both terms, they do a good job, and you do not have to worry about them selling you what you do not need. At least that has been my experience thus far. I will continue doing business with Gary's Auto. They have proven to me, that they are worth of it.

HORRIBLE! Referred to go here, I was completely disappointed. 1. It cost me $160 to replace four light bulbs in a 03 VW Beetle- that was a shocker. 2. When I opened my car door, I couldn't...one of the mechanics broke the inner door panel, speaker cover was off and laying on the floor. Then he said it was like that- uh ok, no actually it opened and shut without any issues. Nothing had ever fallen off or apart in the month or so prior of me owning it. Old, yes. But not in pieces. It was a Friday about 5 minutes before closing so they slapped a screw on it and told me to come back (too afraid they will tear something else up.) Now, as a result the perfectly working door panel just keeps coming apart day by day, I really struggle to get in and out of the car...each day more and more of the door breaks- the whole thing is now a complete disaster!!! Really upset. I don't have family or mechanic friends here- nothing. Totally screwed. I feel taken advantage of.

Very honest and great to deal with!!They did my 70 f100's exhaust and it came out great. Same day turn around.
