I had been looking for a trustworthy mechanic ever since my dad s childhood friend s shop closed in 2012. These are some of the best people you will meet let alone work on your car. Excellent customer service, Barb is so nice. They really tell you whats urgent and what isn t. They held onto a part for my fianc�s car for a year because he couldn t afford to get it replaced right away. You can trust them!!

Great service and great communication, I've been able to rely on these guys anytime I've had any issues. The work is reliable and they have great prices on their services. The after hours drop off has saved me so much time! I really appreciate how detailed and transparent they are with their pre service inspections, the work they complete, and support when figuring out all kinds of different problems. II II wish I could give them more than five stars. My problem was explained to me as if I am an intelligent person and not as a female who knows nothing about cars. Everyone was friendly and right at the beginning I was told that repairs would not be reccommended if they were not needed. Unfortunately the repair to the engine would be expensive for a car of its age. That they also told me. Ladies, if you need a terrific place for car repairs, Coastal is where to go. Eventually when I have to get another car, I am sticking with Coastal. Thank you to everyone.

Coastal Car Center is by far Horry County s preeminent automotive shop. The staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are more than fair. If you need your car worked on and need it to be fixed correctly, look no further and don t trust anybody else. Coastal Car Center has worked on all of my cars, including my '89 Jag XJS and my '97 Jag XK8 for more than three years now. I've gotten to know Billy the owner, John general manager and Thurmond who does all the work. They always handle themselves in a professional manner and provide excellent, honest work at a fair price.They are also a Uhaul dealer and have used cars for sale.I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest service center at a fair price.Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Oil change

COASTAL CAR CENTER IS THE BEST AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP IN THE AREA. They are honest, friendly, knowledgeable and do great work at a fair price when others try to take advantage. They also have a great selection of used cars if you decide not to fix your car too. I would highly recommend them, without a doubt.

Coastal car center is definitely my go to shop for anything pertaining to my vehicles. They always get me in the shop and back out as quickly as possible which is a must have for me with my work schedule. Very professional and knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles and the know how to fix them. I was interested in a vehicle but I was 2 hours away so I called and asked questions about the car. John specifically told me there were no issues with the vehicle but when I got there the seats were badly torn, the gear shifter looked like it was chewed on, the car smelled badly and the check wngine light was on. He erased the codes in my face and insisted that I drive it. I declined his offer and left. It was a waste of time and they are not to be trusted. Nice cars on the lot but after being lied to once I refused to spend money with them

John and Bill run a really good Car&Truck service, you can trust them, that goes a long way in today's society. I have been using them for years servicing my Truck. Prices are fair

We had almost arrived in Surfside Beach, SC for our family vacation, when our vehicle gave trouble. We were stranded on the side of the road and didn't know a mechanic in the area. We called Advance Auto and Hughes Automotive was recommended to us. After a phone call to Hughes, within 20 minutes their roll-back arrived to tow our vehicle in for repairs. We were given a quote and once agreed, the mechanics went right to work on our vehicle. Within 1 hour and 30 minutes of our breakdown, our vehicle was repaired and ready to go. As happy as we were about the quick and professional service, we were even more thrilled when the total charges were LESS than what we were quoted. Wow!! We were so grateful for these savings and extremely thankful to Hughes Automotive for their excellent service. If you are looking for exceptional customer service and a job done right, we would highly recommend Hughes Automotive!

Just wanted to commend coastal car center for their personal attention I ve gotten over the many years I ve been going to get help from John and bill with all my vehicles. They ve gone above and beyond to help us with numerous issues on some older vehicles and got me right back on the road when my work vehicles needed attention. Can t say enough for the service I ve received and have no plans on going anywhere else.Services: Electrical, Battery, Oil change

I was in Myrtle Beach making a delivery of Furniture to Pirateland when my 7.3L diesel decided to cut off on me in the middle of traffic. I needed to be back on my way to NC by the next morning. I dropped the truck off at around 11:30 am, he said he'd start on it immediately. Called back at 4:30, he was just pulling it into the garage. Come 5:00 he told me I needed a high pressure oil pump and fuel filter housing, and that it'd take 4 days and 2200 bucks to fix.Now, I'm no fool. I know a thing or two about engines, I was just out of town and had no tools available to work with. I had it towed back to where I live, and had one of my trusted mechanics look at it (I'm in a job field where I don't really have the time to work on my vehicles.) The whole issue was a .50 cent o-ring that literally takes about ten minutes to swap out.TL;DR. Don't waste your time. If you're in a position where they can take advantage of you, they will.

They got me right in and took care of my broken front window really quick! Great service, good prices, and quick. What else can you ask for?! Did a timing belt for my wifes car too! Good job!

It was a stormy Saturday morning as we headed home from our vacation to NC. Our RV loaded with 4 adults, 4 children and a dog when our started to skip and sputter. We pulled off in Murrell's Inlet where we lost all power and we were stuck in a thunderstorm. We called "Quest" our RV roadside assistance. They offered to dispatch a tow truck if we could find a place to tow the RV. Well, Sat in this area of SC most of the Ford dealerships were closed or closing and no one was open on Sunday. We were referred by a local Ford dealer and Joe ( our limo driver who transported us to the Hotel) to call HUGHS Automotive and RV repairs. They were able to get the part overnighted and installed by Monday ! The service was outstanding John drove my husband back to our hotel that SAT afternoon and delivered our RV to us "ready to go" on Monday afternoon. The business is friendly,honest and incredible reasonable with their billing. The Hugh's automotive & RV service, IAN and JOHN turned our bad luck into a great experience. Thank you !!

I originally started going to Billy when they were at their previous location because of the dishonesty at a previous establishment. I always get the best service they have prices that are fair and the workmanship is honest and they are very truthful of what's wrong with your car and they fix it at a very fair price I'm very pleased with them
