Suddenly had a "check transmission" light on my Acura RDX with hard shifting while on vacation. Called and was able to bring my vehicle in the very next morning where it was diagnosed and repaired. The service was outstanding and at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much Doug & Ruth. Would highly recommend this business.

I had two transmissions put in a 2004 Silverado crew cab. Both from them. The first one lasted 40,000 miles and the rear main seal went. Charged me $850 to replace the seal. About a year later the shifter bushing fell out and I put a zip tie on it. Lasted forever. The second time, I drove the truck there. it wouldn't shift into second gear but reverse worked. I thought it might be a shift solenoid. The guy told me I needed a new transmission and he wouldn't repair it unless he changed the radiator that was leaking, so I said go ahead. I drove 7 miles before the warning alarms went off. The engine overheated. They never replaced it or even told me that they didn't. I started to wonder if they did anything, so I got under the truck to see if the zip tie was there and it was. The bill said I have to bring it back for inspection within 30 days and pay$100.00 for the inspection, or the warranty would no longer be validNever again. Run a far and a fast as you can.!

Doug was a great listener and and helped me get my transmission shifting perfectly by resetting the computer on a 95 degree day in the parking lot. Doug was very helpful!

Doug was very professional and helpful with any questions I had. Took about 3 weeks for fix but I understand due to shipping being delayed (covid19). Would recommend and will take any of my cars back to him to be fixed.

Broke down in Myrtle needed a transmission repair on RV, this place kept it for a month, gave us the run around, over charged and under delivered and we had to end up getting transmission rebuilt by a Certified Allison mechanic and having it shipped there to install, they did a horrible job. Not accredited business. workers look cracked out and Doug is shady.

Took a little longer to fix my car than what was originally stated but I'm satisfied that Doug took care of me. He's worked on all my cars for years now. I think the heat was a factor this last time. I'll be back I just hope it's not for a long time.

I would recommend the place they are very honest and the other place i tried charged me 2,600 and central Transmission only charged me 265 for repair and I highly recommend this repair shop

While out of town working in Myrtle Beach, in October 2020 my 2011 F-350 lost reverse and eventually burned the rest of my transmission up.. Doug Orton over at Central Auto and Transmissions, rebuilt and installed my rebuilt 6R140 transmission which included a master rebuild kit and a new "billeted" torque converter along with a new valve body that had to be reprogrammed and synced into the main computer (PCM) with all the new solenoids and new solenoid wiring harness.The entire team at Central including Kristi in the front office to Dennis in the shop, are some of the best I've ever had the priviledge of working with. I was able to get my truck back to Atlanta in no time. Honest straight up people. Moderately priced compared to other local shops I had initially inquired with. One in particular billed me $140 for an estimate on purchasing a remanufactured 6R140 transmission. I had to pay to get my truck back without any work actually ever having been done and just to tell me what I already knew, "That I needed a new transmission." So thanks to Doug at Central, I was able to have my vehicle recoverd and brought over to Central Auto and Trans and have my truck repaired. My truck is a 6.7 turbo diesel and it has 508,000 miles. The transmission now after the work done at Cental, shifts smoothly and I have no complaints. Doug did everything Kristi said he would. I was able to make it back to Atlanta with no problem. So all I can really say is that they appear to be incredibly talented and actually great at what they do which in this case is rebuilding transmissions. But what I really appreciate is the fact that they actually seem to be "good people" as well. Thanks Central.... You guy's rock at whatcha love! And it evident....

Absolutely a wonderful and legit shop. Very Reasonable and beyond Friendly. They were my son's saving grace while his stay during senior week!! If I could I would give them 10

This is the best shop to have all your repairs done. Doug is a Honest Owner with a Heart. i have had over five deferent cars and trucks repaired. i will always recommend them.

I had an appointment for 8 o clock he didn t show up till 830 and he lives right behind the building in a camper. then he scanned it and said he doesn t do that type of work told me to get the FU out of here I will never refer anybody or ever come back to this place again

Would NEVER send anyone there nor would I EVER return. He repaired Alternator that I was told was the problem. Broke down within 7 miles. He wouldn't make it right so I ended up taking elsewhere who replaced his Alternator and has worked perfectly since. He refuses to give ANY of my money back!

They will give it their all to repair your car. If you have transmission problems, Central transmission is the place to go. They do good work!
