His whole demeaner was very off putting and rude. He charged us $150 to tow to his lot, when I he was told the location to drop the vehicle back to us, per a Berkeley county officer. He called me after picking the vehicle up, saying if I wanted a different company he would still charge me the fee of putting the car on his truck due to me not liking his fees. Also he only uses Cash, avoiding having to pay full taxing is my best guess. I would not have had him tow our stolen vehicle if I knew before hand that he would be charging $6 a mile on top of any fees he added. He did inform me before finishing his drive the Price he would charge. I was not happy but still tried to work with him due to needing the car back. I did not argue price or give him a hard time by any means. He still had a very bad attitude and did not seem professional by any means. I will not be using his services any more and nor should you ever. For that price, I would expect at least some respect. He has none.

My wife had an accident in Moncks Corner and Carne's was called to tow her car. They were exceptionally helpful and coordinated everything on my schedule. I had nothing but professional and curious help while dealing with them. I was blown away at the point where I went to get some personal belongings from the car and I was asked how my wife was doing because they remembered us. I felt they were genuinely concerned because they even offered advice and tried to ease my mind by talking about cars, insurance and just general nonsense. I never felt rushed and my experience there was very genuine and "hometown feeling".

Was walking my cart back at tractor supply today and a guy from this company was there and offered to take my cart back for me. Such a small but sweet act of kindness. I did a double take and saw he was driving a Carnes Towing vehicle and made a mental note that they are who I d call if I was ever in need of a tow. Random acts of kindness say so much about a person s character.

My daughters car was towed by them for supposedly parking in a tow zone there were multiple other cars there as well. When we called to find out about the car the man was extremely rude told me I needed to listen to him before I talk and that he can raise the price on me if he wanted. When my daughter yelled at him for talking to me that way he hung up and refused to answer our calls I had to have someone else call them from another phone all we wanted at that point was the car back! I have never felt so ripped off in my life by someone they are extremely rude and unprofessional!!!!! I would not even give them one star if I had the choice but to write the review I had to!

Great company...good hardworking people! Has a huge heart willing to tow at times out of generosity. Personally I did not know all the legal regulations behind the scenes that can make this business seem uncooperative when it really is a liability issue or a law enforcement issue. Hearing the word No usually makes customers angry and unfortunately when writing reviews don t communicate how they lost their cool...have witnessed this myself on this particular lot. Respect goes a long way and understanding can make our experiences better, in any situation.

Worst company I ever dealt with. He s a scammer!!!! We agreed to meet him the next day to pick up my vehicle. He never showed. He just shows up 4 days later which is not our agreement and expected us to be at there. He hangs up the phone in our faces so we can only text him. BEWARE DONT TEXT HIM JUST CALL THE POLICE! Be careful if you do text bc the police they will take it as an agreement even if the text doesn t show it s an agreement. If Pat s automotive still uses him he s in on the scheme. Bobby from carne is nice at first than he becomes a calculated scammer. He took the car randomly 4 days later a day we didn t agree on and he makes it impossible to reach him and he only wants cash. My son tried to communicate through TEXT instructions on how they can meet up bc Carne wasn t answering his phone *WARNINGGGGGG HE S METHODICAL* he was very rude when I tried to resolve the problem and said he was going to teach my son a lesson my son is disabled. I guess he thought my son was a good candidate they can take advantage of. The police is in Goose City is in cahoots with him. They will call him corroborate a story with him answer for him so I think they are taking under the table money from him is family with him or in contract with carnes. They need to be investigate.Service: Car towing

If you're a female - don't bring a friend because they will be accused of trespassing and the cops will be called on them. Owner is anti-military, inflammatory, verbally abusive and aggressive towards females. VERY verbally abusive and hateful. Oh and don't ask for a breakdown of the charges on your invoice, you will be accused of refusing to pay your bill and told you can't have your car back. Cash-only business is extremely sketchy and red flag for tax evasion and shoddy business practices. But, makes it easy to see how the owner buys all his fancy trucks since charges over $350 for a 3 mile impound. Also the business's "tow away" signs on private property do not meet the state law requirement for "conspicuous posting." Signs are small and impossible to read from inside a car. Owner charges storage fees when state law explicitly prohibits charging storage before 5 days have expired. Basically the business is the quintessential definition of predatory towing. Stay far away. If you are forced to interact with the owner after he steals your vehicle, do so only through a lawyer.

My car was towed by Carnes Towing on Sun. May 15. On Monday 5/16 I called and spoke to a receptionist who states it would be $295 to get my car back. On Wed 05/18 a friend and the guy mother went their to retrieve her things out the car. They guy says he couldn't do it without me being there. Upon my arrival the guy told me it would be $540 to get my car out. He then told me he had to pay $175 for a title search so he could have notify the owner and the lienholder in regards of the car. I told him that's impossible since I contacted him and he knew I was coming for the car. He then stated that he had the right in Berkeley County that after 3 days he could have filed the paperwork. I told him that he didn't have to file anything and state law says its 10 days before he could do anything with my car. The guy then wanted me to signed his invoice. I told him no cuz I didn't owe him this amount of money. I ask for his rules and regulations of the company because I wanted to see how much he charged for towing fees, daily rate, and most importantly the fee he claims he is entitle too. He flat out told me "He didn't have to give me anything."He refused to let the girl get her things out the car unless I sign his invoice.This guy is a crook, thief, and everything else you can think of. He steals people cars and people money. He is very rude and unprofessional and I will see him in court!!

Horrible customer service by the owner is an understatement. If there were a way to rate lower than a 1 I would but word of mouth travels faster $600 for a tow less than 10 minutes from his shop to an 88 year old man, shame on you. Not to mention the way you speak to people. If you need a tow do not call this guy, call someone else- Princes towing is around the corner and they obviously know what they're doing!!

Worst company in the state by far. I would recommend burning your vehicle the morning you and your family are supposed to be leaving for a well needed vacation forbno reason than to use this joke of a company. Hopefully someone puts them out of business as soon as possible. Hope you never have to experience a company like this

This towing company has true heart! My niece broke down and he helped her get her car somewhere to be fixed. The battery terminal had broken. He also was very right with his price! My niece said he was such a nice man and that he had a daughter her age. I hope he sees this to know I thank him so much. God Bless

Carnes Towing along with Summervillage MHP in Summerville SC are a bunch of thieves. Unfortunately I left my van in front of my house parked overnight and this morning it was gone. It was pick up by Carnes Towing this morning and after many phone call attempts I finally got someone to answer my call and pick up my van. The man charged me $ 310 dollars for half a night and towing it. I am not sure if that is possible for that man to charge so much. Can we report him to the state. I wish I could give them a negative star rating. Horrible, horrible Business, I truly believe that SummervillAge MHP is also getting a cut from this company doing this. This MHP is located at 101 Winter Dr. Summerville, SC 29483.

Never had anything towed by them but tried to buy a truck from them and he lied about what worked on it and what didn't. Said there was an EGR tube that had broken and was making a knocking sound but I found the EGR tube was perfectly fine. And when we finally got it to start the rod was slapping the crankshaft. So all in all he was very misleading and dishonest.

Great service provided, He was quick to come and towed my car at a great price. He even helped me find auto repair shop closer and cheaper than I originally had in mind. Highly recommend. Thanks again

Not only do they double charge me to go less than 10 miles because it s a Saturday when in their business hours clearly states they are open. So it's not an after hour call... They called 4 times each time. Oh we will be there in 15 minutes. THEN when they do get there. Oh btw do you have cash we can only take cash really!!!!!! Could you have not said that on the phone or asked before OMG. Shady crook of a business. 0 stars. No. How about. - - stars

Worst experience EVER!!! This company lies, overcharges and steals. Something should be done about this company. Berkeley county citizens shouldn't have to deal with companies on the counties rotation that lie, steal and overcharge the citizens. A complaint will be done at the least towards this company from our family. #berkeleycountymunicipialdobetterplease

Took me numerous big companies hill tire firestone etc& estimates of anywhere from $200 to$2500 to find out why my car was loosing control at the wheel I got told it was alignment motor mounts etc finally I was introduced to carnes towing& after a year of dealing with this they found the true reason of the loss of control I had a ball joint that was going to give any second how it didn't already fall out is beyond me carnes towing is my life savers I went a year dealing with this how these big companies didn't realize a bad ball joint really irritates me they not only risked my life but my children in an accident thank you carnes towing for taking time to look get in & drive it & fix it at not even a fraction of what they would've charged me I can't say thank you enough & they got it fixed in an hour in a half it drove like new no loss of control since highly recommend them for mechanical needs !!

Crooks they charge 31.10 for a tow in the neighborhood!!! stop all business with them. I WILL BE REACHING OUT TO THE BBB AND THE STATE OF SC FOR THIS!!!CREOOKS!!!
