I was referred to Rodney through a friend. When I met Rodney he showed me he was very knowledgeable which gave me the confidence I needed to leave my truck with him. I needed a lot of work done, from suspension and frame restoration to egr delete kit install and cab body work and paint. Through out the entire process he constantly touched base and kept me in the loop explaining every step and giving me his opinion about how to go about the job but letting me make the final decision. I strongly recommend lowcountry auto diesel if your looking for a shop you can trust and who is going to get the job done right.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Painting, Body & Trim, Engine repair, Wheel alignment

Rodney did a great job servicing my 2008 Ford F 250. I dropped it off on a Sunday evening and met with him Monday morning. He took the time to go through my truck front to back. He personally called me during the service as to what needed to be repaired and WHY! It s nice to find an honest good mechanic that knows diesel trucks. I would recommend Low Country Auto Diesel without any reservation.Update 3/23Rodney personally me a text asking how my truck was doing. How many repair ships that you know do that? The mechanics at this shop was absolutely AMAZiNG! My guest and I needed immediate mechanical attention and Rodney and his crew immediately took care of us when we were able to arrive to the shop. As they worked on the truck, they made sure we were comfortable as much as we could in waiting for diagnostics and repairs of the truck. The wait time was not long for the repair, Rodney made sure the repair was secure in allowing us to get back on the road safely.I appreciate their service, the staff (including the security cat ) were very friendly and professional during our wait time. A big plus was the CLEANED bathroom, mechanic shop and outside waiting area.Under different circumstances, I would definitely request services at Lowcountry Auto Diesel in the near future. I dealt with Rodney with my diesel issues and he is very knowledgeable at what he does. Made me feel very confident on leaving my truck there to repair it. Did an awesome job with the repair and kept me updated when he ran into other problems. Fantastic communication and professionalism. Great thing about this place is when they take parts off, every part goes through a parts washer to get all the dirty build up from years old. Definitely will go back if i run into any other issues.Service: Engine repair

EXEMPLARY SERVICE! Thanks Rodney!Had a diesel fuel contamination problem in my Ford F-250 with a 40 gal auxiliary tank while camping in Hilton Head. The entire fuel tank needed draining and cleaning. Called around and not even the Ford dealership could promise to fix the problem for at least several days. Another auto shop in town recommended Rodney. He was the only diesel mechanic available that day, bec his coworkers called in sick. He was kind enough to work me in, though he already had his hands full. He said he would try to get it finished by the next day. Dominique in office was kind and helpful while Rodney was straight to the point and professional. He exuded a quiet confidence. He worked 3 hours overtime to meet his other commitments and got the job done on my truck. He was again working overtime when I came to get my truck the next evening. Job perfectly done! The engine actually sounded better than ever. The bill was fair and I felt that I received more value for the money I paid!

Incredible experience. Rodney is the best mechanic in the region. The attention to detail and care for the customer are something that is so rare yet it is clearly his priority. He took amazing care fixing my Excursion Diesel. Rodney is the most amazing diesel mechanic there is and his shop is the ultimate customer service experience.

Limped into South Carolina on 4th of July weekend with significant Issues on my 2015 F250 Super Duty. Low Country was the ONLY company willing to take my truck in on the spot. Rodney fixed what appeared to be the issue quickly and with great communication and updates.Additionally he uncovered some significant underlying issues to include a head gasket and cylinder failure. Rodney documented everything and sent me pics and videos throughout the entire diagnosing and repair process.He was honest, fair, and great to work with. We urgently need the work completed and Rodney worked multiple weekends, often until 1-2am to get us taken care of. Rodney has extensive knowledge on Diesel engines. We have a Mercedes Sprinter Van. He spent so much time and effort to make sure it was completely road ready. Rodney was extremely honest and searched for a fuel leak which he found in the fuel tank that wasn t reinstalled properly by another mechanic.He was understanding of a senior s limited income, and I appreciated that.His wife, Dominique, welcomed me as a new customer and she is very knowledgeable about their Diesel engine repair business.I am glad that I found Low Country Auto Diesel, and wholeheartedly recommend them!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

On our way to Florida in our 21 yr old RV. Overheating. Dominique was very kind and welcoming. Rodney got us right in, diagnosed broken fan belt, got the piece and installed right away!! Very reasonable and honest folks. We are running nice and smooth and are so very grateful to them!! BTW Cleanest and most organized shop ever!!

The oil cooler in my 6.4 ruptured and it was a mess! I looked around at the few diesel shops in the area and found this shop most prepared to tackle the task of replacing the oil cooler. Rodney did a phenomenal job of getting me back on the road. He is a mechanic that cares about his reputation and I will definitely go back to this shop for the most difficult jobs.

My truck broke down on the highway in the middle of the night while I was trying to move from Northwest Florida to North Carolina. I had it towed to the shop and dropped on their doorstep in hopes of dealing with it in the morning. We tripped the cameras and the police showed up before the truck was off the wrecker, which speaks volumes to their security. The owner showed up and took all my info and the keys which made it so I wouldn't have to show up first thing in the morning. Rodney zeroed in on the problem, fixed it, and ran it through several additional tests to make sure I was good to go; all while I bugged him from the shop door (sorry Rodney). After my experience at another shop in Florida, this renewed my faith that there are still good mechanics out there who take pride in their work. Made it to NC without a hiccup.

Thank you Lowcountry! We had a team of guys traveling out of state for emergency services, and broke down in SC. I found Lowcountry Diesel online, and once our box truck was towed to them, they understood our situation and was able to respond quickly and efficiently. They even went out of their way to help accommodate our displaced crew members while repairs where being made. They where professional, and was able to get our crew back on the road the next morning.
