Took one of my Mercedes to Mike and they did a great job. He explained everything in detail and pricing was fair. I even double-checked his parts pricing to see if it was marked up excessively and it wasn't. Car is running flawless now. Nice to have someone besides the dealership.

Highly recommend for great service and fair pricing. Mike is very knowledgeable about cars of all generations and very honest throughout the whole process. He will explain everything in detail so you know exactly what you re paying for. He found a steering column for my 2003 BMW Z4, which many shops refused to service, and got it done for less than 2/3 the price charged by the dealership. Especially recommend for older European cars.

I lucked out when I found Star Automotive! I took my BMW there for service and it was great. Mike and the guys do excellent work--really good mechanics who do it right the first time and at a fair price. This is where I will always go when I need work in the future. It's nice to find somebody who you can trust to work on your car.... five stars for sure!

This place is fantastic! Mike is a very knowledgable mechanic who specializes in European cars. It was such a relief to finally deal with someone who knows what they are doing and could correctly diagnose the issue the first time. My repair was done correctly and in in a timely manner. Price was much better than the dealer. I will only give my business to him for all future repairs.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Star automotive is excellent. I took my Toyota Tundra in for shock/strut repair, brake replacement, and sensor replacement because of the check engine light. My truck is running very well now. Mike is an honest stand up guy who goes above and beyond to treat people fairly and the prices are reasonable. Horrible! Absolutely do not recommend, kept jacking up the price & calling back with a new issue every time I called checking in on my vehicle. Half way fixed my vehicle, didn t fix it entirely which led me to having to pay someone else for what they were supposed to do.

Alternator replacement. Was in town for a wedding and on 6/2/23 ( Saturday) alternator went out and was in a real bind. Called Star as I knew no one in Greenville, SC. Explained situation to Mike and he told me to tow my van over. He closed at 3 pm but had his tech. stay over to get my alternator done. Fantastic service and understanding. Can't thank Mike enough.

Star Automotive has repaired two of my vehicles to date. One of them is a classic Mercedes that requires a knowledgeable mechanic. After reading other's glowing reviews, I decided to try them out. Mike knew everything about the vehicle and had our AC system up and running in a short amount of time along with other needed repairs. Mike is knowledgeable and very fair. He does what he says he'll do and goes the extra mile to make sure that we are pleased with his service. I had an emergency with another vehicle and Mike was able to get to work on the car right away. We were back on the road the next day. I also had Mike diagnose what I thought was a mechanical problem with another foreign car that we own. Mike ultimately recommended that I not fix the car due to the cost of the repair vs. the car's value and let me know that is was safe to drive as is. I'm glad I was told to come here to this shop they're are very professional and I feel very confident with the work I got done to my car. I had went to a different shop with similar name but after I had issues again after spending almost 1000 dollars for fuel system replacement and a new battery. My car still had issues so I look up the shop again and saw I made a mistake and went to a shop with similar name as this one STAR AUTOMOTIVE. MIKE is a man of his word and guaranteed me 6 months warranty on my 2007 infiniti replacement engine. When I had got my car back and noticed a slight issue he told me to bring it back and even offered me a ride home... I also had told my Co Worker about the shop so when he got some work done on his daughter Trail Blazer he was quoted a way lesser price than other shops and was overly impressed with what was done with his car he thought they put a new engine in it because of how well it was done. The epitome of "don't judge a book by it's cover", Star Automotive on Pleasantburg Dr. heading toward Cherrydale is truly a hidden gem. Not to be confused with the other Mercedes repair shops in Greenville with STAR in their names, this guy is the real deal. And the great thing is they service and repair more than just Mercedes. Yes, there are cars EVERYWHERE and you won't be comfortable if you want to wait while your car is being repaired, but your final bill also won't reflect "free coffee, daily newspapersand free wifi."Mike and his crew are honest, genuine and truly care about their clients.Personal experience: 2008 E-320 Bluetec purchased locally from a Mercedes repair sales shop from a trusted mechanic until he wasn't. I broke down on I-26 around Orangeburg. He wouldn't take my calls and I ended up having it towed back to Greenville to another Mercedes shop that I found out too late only uses brand new Mercedes parts, which in today's economy, cost a fortune. I finally gave up on them when I had almost as much in the car as the purchased price. Unfortunately according to them, there was still another major repair of over $2k needed. I went back to the guy I purchased it from, was told the same thing and no, he wouldn't help me with the cost.At my wits end I went to Mike. After a thorough inspection and confirmation from not one but three of this mechanics, I was told not only was that repair not needed but the oil leak was coming from a previous repair that had been done by the last repair shop. Mike even sent me a series of photos showing the problem, which I believe worked in my favor when I went back and asked them to honor the repair warranty.No only did Mike save me a great deal of money but he didn't even want to charge me for his time. Then he even followed up with me to make sure the other repair shop was going to do the right thing.This guys is the real deal. Honest. Trustworthy. Cares about his clients and isn't in it for a quick buck but truly wants to build a long-term relationship.So look past the cars. I have a 2012 MB GLK 350 with a broken master console display. Mercedes doesn t sell the part any more so I had to find a reseller to acquire a used one. Found a new used screen in California. The MB dealer wouldn t touch the used part to install it, so I decided to try some shops around town. The first shop I tried was intimidated and would not attempt the install. I then called Star Automotive and spoke to the owner Mike. He was eagerly game and told us to be on the safe side to give him the car for two days.� We brought in the GLK and Mike proceeded to outline his sophisticated game plan for getting a console up and running and how he would be billing us for his time. He said he would call us to give us an update at the end of day one. It was the first time I ve had a shop explain in detail what they would be doing, rather than we ll call you when we get it done. True to his word Mike called us at the end of day one to say the job was done! Elated, we went down to get the car. The new used screen was up and running and the cost of the work was exceptionally fair. Can t say enough about what an enjoyable experience it was to do business with Mike and Star Automotive. He gets my business from here on out.

After a diagnosis on my old 99 Land Rover they fixed me up with great quality service and I'm completely pleased. I honestly wish I had brought it to Mike about 7 or 8 years earlier. The Rover is running better and with more power than it has in 10 years maybe. Some of the work was very complicated- front engine cover, valve timing, oil pan and valve cover gaskets among others, cam shaft sensor, spark plugs/wires, vap sensor, air intake...when she was done the Rover no longer leaks or burns oil (was a quart every two weeks for years) no more skipping, shaking, or power problems, it was well worth it. I would highly recommend Star Automotive. I was out of town and I had an issues with a bolt in breaks. I stopped at Star Automotive without an appointment, and after having other automotive shops tell me they couldn't fix my breaks. Star Automotive helped me out instantly and with open arms. They replaced my missing bolt in 10 minutes and checked all my other breaks to make sure I was able to get back to North Carolina safely. The guys there were supper kind, generous and fair with pricing. If I lived in the area I would go here for all my car needs!Service: Auto brake repair

Heard about Mike, Star Automotive, from a friend My Audi Q5 went down due to a timing chain issue Had previously called a few places before I heard about Mike and his mechanics Nobody wanted to even tackle the job; said the vehicle was toast Mike gave it a look, conferred with his mechanic and said they d have me back on the road in 3 weeks Turned out the valves and pistons had touched requiring replacement and he still had me back up and running in 17 days Professional, honest, superior work at a fair price is all one can ask for and this is what you ll get with Mike and Star Automotive Do not look any further; call them now!!! Star Automotive was recommended to me by another shop as one of the best Mercedes service facilities in Greenville. Mike was very friendly, the work was thorough and timely and the price was very fair. I also learned that they can repair any vehicle, not just Mercedes. I had taken my car into 2 other local car shops several times, but continued to have the same problem after it had been "fixed." A friend recommended Star Automotive. Mike correctly diagnosed the problem and repaired it. I have taken my car to Mike several times for other problems and have been extremely pleased with the efficient service. I highly recommend Mike and Star Automotive.

Mike was extremely helpful when my car broke down multiple times. He lent me his car while he fixed mine and was willing to drop everything to help me when I was stuck. He made sure to complete the job until it was finished, no matter the cost to him. He was wonderful to work with, and we will be using him often in the future.
