If you have ever lived in another state, you will understand that South Carolina DMV is simply amazing. They make it as painless as possible. You still have paperwork and deal with providing the right documents but at least the process and the people are remarkably capable.

It s the DMV and waiting in these lines always puts a damper on your day. But thankfully they built this new location and they actually have more than eight counters to get people in and out faster. Many of the smaller dmv offices in the area will have you waiting two or more hours even for the simplest of tasks.

I honestly can say whenever I need to visit the DMV, I have a thought of frustration. However, I have made two trips to this specific DMV branch in the last year or so... and have been pleasantly surprised. It was crowded, but amazingly a line of 25 persons or so resulted in a wait in line time of about 20 minutes. A system where a worker determines what you are there for, and a number ticket is presented to wait for call up. There are over 30 windows here and most if not all had a worker helping persons. I sat for about 2 minutes and didn't have the license renewal form half filled out when I was called to a numbered window. The worker already knew what I was there for and processed everything for a "Real ID" quickly and with a friendly disposition. From the time I walked into this branch, I was walking out in just over 40 minutes with a "REAL ID" documented, verified, renewal fee paid, new photo taken, and everything processed. I like the system that is in place here and in two experiences has been efficient and streamlined. This will now be the branch I visit going forward. Only one star for lack of parking and crowded initial line, but both of these are only due to the volume of people who are helped and the time of day when I visited.

I think we can all agree that we dread going to the DMV... but not this one! I recently moved to SC and had to get a new license, registration, and title. I split this into two separate visits and despite there being a daunting line each time, I never spent more than 30 minutes here. This DMV is organized, efficient, and speedy!

I had a frustrating experience at the SCDMV recently. The ticket lady was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Two other ladies we spoke to were also unpleasant, one even making smart remarks under her breath. After a series of unhelpful and unnecessary interactions, a different lady at counter 29 finally assisted us with no problems. To add to the frustration, they had my mother drive all the way up there, only to turn her away and inform us that I could sign the form (even though we sat there for an hour trying to do this and they kept saying that she had to come sign the form and told us that she had 15 minutes to get there). Overall, a disappointing and inconvenient visit.

I ve only ever heard infamous stories about the dmv. So relieved this was not the case, went today to get a new decal for my vehicle (I kid you not, had only been sitting in the waiting area for under a minute before my number was called) Quick and easy.

Of course DMV is busy and smelly and overcrowded- but specific shout out to Ana A for an amazing customer service experience. She was incredibly nice and kind and fast! Really great experience at this DMV and Ana was awesome!

They get you in and out as fast as they can, but you need your things together to keep the lines moving. So when people say they're slow they be the ones that not ready. Picture of old place and new place.

I have visited this location several times ! It s a little further than the one closest to me but well worth the drive ! I have always had friendly and fast customer service at this location! Nice clean and fast and friendly service every time I have visited this location

I realize this isn't a fun location to visit and involves waiting, but today was a new level of frustration. After waiting 2 hours, they said the computers were down completely and asked everyone to leave. Apparently they had the same problem the past three days at every dmv in the state. Will have to go back tomorrow in hopes someone fixes the problem.

The lady @booth 20 had a huge chip on her shoulder. Called 2 #s at the same time , my number first but when she saw who the next number/ person was after mine she told me she was taking him next and I had to wait. Then she didn't even update all of DL/reg and now I have to go back and wait another 2hrs.

This 5 star review is for Crystal at Edgeworth DMV. Everytime I need to come in to this location she handles all of my issues with a smile. Hats off to Crystal!

If there was ever an example of Government Incompetence and waste, it s the DMV.Giving 2 stars because the lady at the front counter was sorta nice.But government has you trapped and have to go here so, prepare yourself.

Closed on the 22nd of december but listing that you re open, not including HOLIDAY hours on your voicemail and on top of it, not having ANY signage or anything stating so. Not everyone has the luxury of working for the government and getting fourteen holidays off, some people have certain days off and only can go to the DMV certain days, ITS THE 22nd!!!! NOT CHRISTMAS. Ridiculous!

They move a pretty quick. I barely had time to fill out the information form before my number was called. The check in clerk and registration clerk were courteous and they smiled!! The local ducks have definitely marked the walkways as their territory so you might want to look down as you're walking to and from the dmv building.

I had a really good experience at this location. Came in to get a car registered and title change. The he whole process took about 20 minutes. All of the reps were kind and friendly!!

Came at a busy time (lunch hour) and still an excellent experience. Wait times online are not updated, but staff was extremely pleasant, helpful, kind and helpful. I wasn t in line when my son reached the front of the line so she allowed him to step aside until I got back. So appreciative that he had a great experience getting his driver s permit. I think it helped him go into the test relaxed and focused.

Trying to have my tag renewed for my truck and they say they can't and can't disclose why or how I can get the solution fixed due to a privacy code. Like seriously it's my own damn truck how can you not disclose it with me. That's ridiculous.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER AT A DMV!!!! I barely got out of the restroom and they were calling my name. Lorraine O. was great and did a phenomenal job. Quick and to the point. Thanks for doing a great job. I was in and out in less then 30 minutes.

This place is horrible. I was so uncomfortable being in this place around so many people, and germs I put a mask on. You can literally feel the person behind you breathing down the back of your neck. I can never understand why people stand so close up on another person in their personal space.The other issue I had is I was there for two things, and was giving two numbers back to back (D006/D007). So while I was at one window with my minor child my other number was called at a different window. The lady that was assisting me was talking to some other lady that works there for a very long time while I was trying to tell her they are calling my other number at a different window. By the time she finished her side conversation another man was approaching the other window that they had called my other number at.Also, the person at the Camera Counter is terrible. Simply put! I was not pleased with my child s photo at all, and unfortunately I was not with her when she went to the other counter because I was still fooling with paperwork at the window I was still at. My child said the lady didn t even allow her to see the picture or anything before printing it. She is awful, and need to be put in the back filing papers or something. Just take her off of the camera completely.Overall, I hated every second of being in this place. Awful! Awful! Awful!

The Spanish lady that works here is very disrespectful and if she doesn't like you she will not let you pass your test and she needs to be investagated !!!I report her to the main dmv. And I'm not the only one that has filed a complaint about her.

My first visit to this DMV branch. I chose 11:00 based on the wait time listed on the SC DMV site and rainy day factor. The wait time was listed as 0 mins and 4 people but the parking lot was full and so was inside. I waited 20 mins to get to the first desk and obtain the necessary form and another 20 to be called to the counter. I was out the door in just under an hour which isn't bad. The lines seemed to move quickly despite the long wait line. The staff was courteous and completed each step of my visit efficiently. Minus 1 star for the incorrect wait time listed on their website.

Thee worst experience with a customer service employee that I have ever had I can t believe she still has a job that is not how you talk to people Who come to you for service if you don t like your job you can quit and not work at a register dealing with live people why would you work in customer service yet you have such a bad attitude? 1:30pm 5/9/23 I don t think there is a more rude person in the entire state of South Carolina then the woman that is at the front desk currently!Update this woman was moved to the stall next-door to the receptionist I had to come back in about three weeks later when a man walked up to the counter with a simple question and she immediately started screaming at him after what looked like she had just clocked in for the day! Fire this woman she does not deserve this job!
