Like most people who drive older model vehicles, I need a reliable person to perform the work arises. Tanner and company have been doing that work on both my vehicles for several years. I would not consider taking my cars anywhere else. Tanner and company are always friendly, do the work in a timely manner, and charge a fair price. I recommend them without reservation.

I have employed Buchanans for everything needed on all of my vehicles. I have never even considered another shop. They have always been honest and thorough in their repairs. I have not had one single issue that has not been quickly addressed. I wouldn't take our families vehicles anywhere else! They are prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and affordable. If you have ever been taken advantage of by a mechanic then you understand that when you find a good one you don't let them go! FUTURE CUSTOMER PLEASE READ!!I normally do not write reviews but if this can save someone from the same experience I just had here, I'm willing to take the time.I took my vehicle in for a repair on the heater core. My car was having most issues that come with having a bad heater core. I drop my car off, trusting that it's getting taken care of. Letting the gentleman know I need to have the core replaced.I get a call that the car has been repaired, but it wasn't my heater core, it was my thermostat. Which is fine. I trusted the mechanic. I picked my car up, and not even within 20 minutes of leaving the shop, I notice my floorboard is filled with an oily substance. So much that I used 2 beach towels to soak up the fluid and wasn't even able to get it all out. Then that's when I notice my passenger door handle is broken. Neither one of these issues were mentioned to me when paying for my vehicle's repairs. So I continue to drive the car deciding that I will take it back to the shop the following day. Within less than 15 minutes of driving, my car overheats, fills will steam and leaves me stranded. I then call a family member to come towe the car back to Buchanan's. The person who did this for me, immediately upon entering the store was met with an attitude from Tanner. My family member requests my money back because my car was in worse shape than when I left the shop the previous day. And the part that I asked to have fixed originally was the actual problem. Yet, it wasn't repaired. An unprofessional argument ensues between the owner, his son, and my family member and I never got even a percentage of my money back. They would not even step outside the shop to take a look at my car that my family member towed there. Not even to see if they could help in the slightest way. If this doesn't speak about what kind of people work here then I don't know what does. This is a long post but this situation needs context of what went on here. THIS PLACE IS BAD BUSINESS. A decent mechanic would have been upfront about issues and would have been willing to make right what was damaged. PLEASE CUSTOMER BEWARE. The problem here isn't the mistake that was made. It was the attitude of the people running this business. How can you trust someone who can do something like this? This is something to consider when looking for a mechanic. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Buchanans has benn servicing my cars for 14 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have always been pleased with them. I called around to multiple shops in the area and these guys were the only ones who were willing and capable of replacing my leaf springs on my truck. I couldn t be happier with my choice! Very communicative and timely with the service. Extremely fair with the price and upfront about the estimate. Trustworthy work done. I don t know what else you could want or expect. I would recommend this service shop to anyone and everyone.

I ve been coming to Buchanan and Sons for a few years and have brought several vehicles for maintenance and repairs. Always been a good experience. Tanner and the crew are super honest and respectful. They try their best to provide quality work at responsible prices. They just helped be with a massive oil and coolant leak on a 10+ old GM.

WOW - Buchanan & Sons is amazing! I can't thank Tanner enough! My mom, daughter, and I were in Greenville from out of town (about 4 hours from home), and my car started giving me trouble.We went to O'Reilly Auto Parts to see if they could help us figure out the problem. One of the guys at O'Reilly said it was having a cooling problem & we needed to take it to a mechanic. I asked who he recommended, and he said to contact Buchanan & Sons and to ask for Tanner - he assured us that Tanner would take good care of us. He was exactly right!We called Buchanan & Sons as soon as they opened in the morning & Tanner said to bring it by and he would help us out. We dropped it off & he called us a little bit later to tell us what the problem was. I needed a new radiator.My car is an older car, so it took them a bit to hunt one down, but Tanner said he would find us one & get it installed that same day! We were in a bind because we are from out of town & had to pick up our son from camp at Clemson. Tanner worked well over business hours to get my car fixed.We were stuck at the hotel without a car - Tanner went above and beyond and brought my car back to the hotel for us! Talk about 5-star service!!! We felt like we had been customers of his for years, yet we just met him.I cannot thank Tanner enough for taking such good care of us! I would not hesitate to recommend him to everyone I know! If you want to take your car to an honest, trustworthy, caring, knowledgeable, upstanding place, Tanner at Buchanan & Sons is THE place to take your car!

I get all my tires and tire services from Buchanans- the prices are good and the tires are great! Buchanans is always first rate, they get the jobs done well, quickly and efficiently. The owners are very nice and when you call, someone actually answers the phone!!! Big plus! They do all repairs for cars, always let me know a price range, are quick and can work on all cars. I wish I could give 10 stars to this place! My family and I were headed out of town for Thanksgiving when our car started smoking. Tanner made a service call within 10 minutes and we were back up and running within two hours. These guys saved our Thanksgiving and have fantastic customer service. I recommend them. They did an alignment on my truck and pointed out where the brake rotors needed to be turned. Brought it in for the rotors to be turned and the back ones were past spec to be turned and they let me know via a phone call. We went ahead with the front ones and I will be replacing the rear rotors in my home garage. They saved me money by being honest and letting me know those rear rotors were past spec and put them back on per my request so I could replace them myself. I would never recommend Buchanan and sons automotive to work on even so much as a tricycle! I Was quoted a price to have a remanufactured engine put in my Chevy Colorado roughly $1,350 for labor $0 tax deduction receipt date 05/12/20 engine plus install kit $5,134.64 within weeks I was having major issues including stalling and shutting down on the interstate due to wiring harness to alternator pigtail being damaged during installation of the new engine. Oil dipstick was also droken so the level could not be seen. My Truck overheated on a trip to Knoxville Tennessee. Once my truck cooled down I got back on the road and everything seemed fine until I got back to South Carolina and the truck overheated again this time resulting in a Blown head gasket causing antifreeze to run out the back of my engine block. Further investigation at clinkscale Chevrolet found that my thermostat had NOT been replaced with the parts supplied with the new engine. Clinkscale Chevrolet gave me an invoice that shows the thermostat that Buchanan and sons had installed an old failing mahle thermostat dated for 9/27/16. I also have receipts for a thermostat (motorad) and water pump (car quest) that was purchased at advance auto parts on 1/24/20 and replaced a 4 months before the engine work was done at Buchanan and sons. So they didn't even replace the thermostat with the one they took out of my truck. Powertrain Nation had to honor their warranty after I had the engine re-replaced at sunrise automotive. Powertrain Nation also had to supply me with a parts list to prove that all the new parts were not installed. Buchanan and sons also crushed my brand new catalytic converter pipe by 50% that I purchased and supplied them with no damages still in the bubble wrap. 1 month after the engine replacement it started getting warmer and that's when I realized the air conditioner did not work and Jerry charged me $301.52 to fix something they broke. When I tried to complain about being told to bring it back and they would fix it, I thought they were going to fix what they had broke for free, they would not listen and basically told me I had to pay or I wouldn't get my truck back and made threats calling me a whiny baby!!! I have text messages from Jerry and Tanner Buchanan to prove how he treated me. I also have all the information from the Chevy dealership in Belton South Carolina to prove he did not install all of my parts that were supplied with my remanufactured engine. I have all the proof I need Jerry Buchanan!!! Jerry threatened to sue me if I posted a review! Well Jerry Buchanan here's your chance.. so sue me!!! And I'll counter sue... Facts are hard to dismiss. Tell your high school buddy Jimmy I said thanks for the referral! So you're aware, that last part was sarcastic!! I just added a few numbers in here so people would get the point of how much I lost thanks to your business..After engine replacement & breaking down Tow truck home $65Wiring harness pigtail $32.49Dipstick replacement & part number 12580811 $57.78New catalytic converter crushed during installation $199.85A/C repair $301.52The engine Jerry Buchanan and sons installed $3,736.007 year promise warranty $200.00Pure care$299.00Engine kit: new belts, upper and lower radiator hoses, gates water pump, gates thermostat etc... $319.00SC business $150.00SC tax $270.64Z01 DCTY CHEV 3.5 04-05 $3,736.00Considering I had to use my warranty I can never have my engine replaced without paying full price... Luckily sunrise automotive knew what they were doing.. no problems with my truck now!!! You can do the above calculations and see what I would counter for!!! Nothing you can do will ever make me remove this review. I also have pictures along with all documentsTanner is a spoiled BRAT!

They even set my clock!! I took my odyssey into see if she could be fixed or was a lost cause . She needed a lot of love ! Power steering pump, O2 sensor replaced, new back breaks when I got back in the car and drove it, I knew we had made the right decision. I no longer had to preform a Austin power 25-point turn in the parking lot. I didn t have to ignore the red light on the dash every time I drove. But the extra touch that I m talking about is when they fixed the clock! The clock that had gradually worked its way to 12 minutes ahead. I was very impressed with the service I received. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they took the time to explain the repairs that needed to be done in a way that I could understand. They also gave me a fair price for the repairs. I would definitely recommend this auto repair shop to others.

Tanner is a God send I called his today to see if he could help me with a nail close to my tire wall & he got me in immediately! I told him how no one would touch it and kept trying to get me to buy two new tires bc Michelin no longer made my tire size. He fixed my tire in 10 mins and confirmed that Michelin still makes the size I have! Point is if you want someone you can trust and won t waste your time, Tanner is your guy! We took my Father In Laws car to Buchanan's . We met Tanner who I thought was very professional. We told him what we thought was wrong-a bad water pump. He gave us a price up front and we agreed to the work. We also thought we had a issue with the power steering pump however after checking he stated it was just low on fluid . They completed the work in a timely manner and the price was what he quoted. I gave this place a list of stuff to fix on my car. The whole list wasn't even fixed. I called them every other day asking for an update. Everytime I was told they were waiting on parts. The very last thing they checked was the check engine light. They told me my engine was no good. After putting $2200 of work into it. When i paid the bill that i most likely would not have agreed to if I knew. It was drivable when I dropped it of with a solid check engine light. When I picked it up, I had no power and when I gave it gas the check engine light started flashing. Everytime. Come to find out these sad bunch of mechanics didn't plug in 2 of my coils (cylinder 4 & 5). Great job guys! Never again will i bring my car there and all you will get out of me as far as word of mouth will be absolutely awful. I will be looking into a lawyer.

Make sure they give you a price for parts. Ive rebuilt cars and Ive put in engines. I know what parts cost.The part they put in is a $60-$100 part at most. They charged me $300 for an alternator. I asked them who they buy their parts from. Answer,"from our vendor". I asked who is it. Answer,"I cant tell you that". I understand they are in business to make money. Charging 3-4 times what a part cost isn't a way to earn trust for a new customer. I will not be coming back to this garage.
