Mr Ray Haile needed his car immediately. Just before Christmas. Parts were not available until the new year. We also found the wrong coolant in the radiator and this causes damage. We did replace the leaking water pump, yet there was more. Parts were ordered yet not being fast enough for the repair. [Some parts take weeks or longer to order] We were told to stop all work and he would tow the car elsewhere. He was charged for Only what work was done, nothing more. Mr Haile even tried to stop payment on the work done but the credit card company read what actually occurred and payment was approved.

TOTALLY incorrect assessment of what occurred to my car. The service that repaired his incompetence stated a bolt was missing that resulted in a large oil leak and when he tried to replace the oil filter housing he did NOT follow BMW procedures which resulted in further damage. The bill was only paid because his contract says "all sales and repairs are final" . The car was towed out of his shop after one month of NO service. Definitely DO NOT take your car to this place!

I don"t often write reviews and when I do they are usually positive because I appreciate people's hard work. This is not one of those reviews. I would definitely NEVER use Gold Hill Automotive again under any circumstances. What started out as a coolant leak, which required replacing the water pump ($800), didn't fix the leak, then the transmission cooler (over $1000), which didn't fix it, to replacing an oil filter housing (over $1100), I now have a car which still may have a coolant leak but definitely has an oil leak and cannot be driven. There was no oil leak when I gave him the car now almost one month ago. Despite the fact the owner's assistant was sick for part of the time, there is no excuse for this lack of professionalism. It is a problem of either incompetence or ignorance, neither of which is appropriate in this circumstance. Take the time to read the other less than stellar reviews of this place and you will see a trend. Hugely disappointing but an expensive lesson learned.

I have been taking both of my vehicles to Rich for about a year now. He has always been honest and fair with me. He has plugged numerous nail holes for us when I show up. He has also made repairs to both vehicles in a very timely fashion with prices that were much more reasonable than bigger companies. Every time a repair has been made, Rich has personally followed up with me in a few days to ensure that the work he completed had fixed the issue. I constantly recommend Gold Hill Automotive to anyone that asks in the area

Stay away from this place, the owner doesn't value customers! A/C condenser was replaced in this shop and for some reason too much of refrigerant was added back to the system. A/C unit stopped cooling the next day. The owner looked at the issue himself and offered me to buy a new condenser and redo everything from the beginning. I went to the other place to double check for the issue and I was told that the condenser is fine but the system contains too much of refrigerant. After the A/C was refilled everything worked fine. The owner of Gold Hill Automotive didn't want to recognize his mistake and refused to compensate even a part of expenses I had spent to fix the issue. And he is licensed for A/C repair! The compensation I was offered was $20,-. This is how much according to him he charged me for the refrigerant and the labor to refill the system. Stay away from this place!

Since 2004 Gold Hill Automotive has serviced all my vehicles that were not under warranty. Richard, the owner, gives each person his undivided attention everytime. One evening my clutch failed two minutes after leaving work and one call with Richard allowed me to drive the car home the same evening.

Very dishonest practices! Put in a new part I purchased and charged me $135 without it being a fix. He said, "I was just doing what you asked me to do." He hid behind that, when the problem was not fixed. He chose not to diagnose the fix, I would have been willing to pay more. Stay away from this business, he actually calls himself a Christian. It's people like him why so many people don't believe. A mechanic and a liar! Go figure. Karma will find this deceitful business, mark my words!!! STAY AWAY! SERIOUSLY!!!

I had previously had work done here and was happy with the work. However, this past experience was horrible, and I will never go back. The manager cussed me out and hung up on me twice, saying that I told my husband (I'm single) that the manager "made a pass at me", supposedly at a Tega Cay Festival a year ago that I did not attend, nor have ever attended with my so-called "husband." He told my boyfriend of 2 years, who called to try to sort out what happened, that I had short brown hair. I haven't had short hair since my senior year in high school (many years ago)! Clearly a case of mistaken identity, but there was no telling Captain Obvious that. Well, my Jaguar and it's business just went down the road, Captain Obvious. Good riddance, and thanks for keeping my car for a whole week without letting me know you weren't going to work on it because you're a juvenile!!! Single women - beware.
