We arrived at about 3:50 pm. Check- in time is at 4pm. We already had a long day flying in from Colorado and driving to this place. They told us our unit wasn't ready. They couldn't even give us an eta when our room would be ready. We were tired and hungry. We went to a restaurant nearby and had some drinks, thinking it wouldn't be a long wait. They finally texted us at 5:30. An hour and a half later. No apology for the wait. Room was clean and had a good view. We enjoyed the stay after our bad check- in experience. But then, come check out day and they were waiting at our door 45 minutes before check out time. Late to check us in and first to check us out. Not good service at all. That part was so disappointing.

The rooms were clean but noisy as we could hear people moving around in all the rooms around us. Floors were creaky and uneven. We were there for 2 weeks and never had a single room make up. If you just want to sit in 1 place would be great but out of the way if you want to explore the low country. Golf course on site is wonderful, challenging and in great shape. Not associated with the resort so no rebate. Still worth the cost.Rooms: Good size but Bathrooms are cramped. Bathroom fan was noisy and did not move much air. Floors were uneven and creaky. Noisy as we could hear people walking in all the rooms around us.

This is our second consecutive year at this location. Enjoyed the staff this year much better than last year; especially at the Cafe. The check-in staff upstairs were sweet and so welcoming. However, the downstairs staff almost ruined our trip before it started with their pushiness. As always we always enjoy the atmosphere of the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If we needed extra items they were there quick. We had a maintenance issue and they showed up quick and was very polite.Nearby activities: If I had to bring up one negative it would be the pools. This past week was hotter than hot; but its summer. The one complaint that many guests seemed to have including ourselves was the hot pool! Is it heated??? I have no idea. But it feels like a warm bath tub. Second year in a row and the pools are not inviting for summer. In 90+ degree weather . The last thing you want to do is step into a hot pool. Yuck!

(COCKROACHES) Spent our time changing rooms, because of Cockroaches. Spent the rest of our weeks worth of vacation, washing everything. Second room also had Cockroaches. We ended up leaving a day early. Because, we wanted to spend that day washing all of our clothes. I would give room -- -- 5 if it was available.JoeRooms: Check for COCKROACHES

Had a wonderful time here! The staff was extremely helpful. Especially when our car broke down and we had to park a truck and trailer in their resort overnight to load up the car in the morning. Shout out to Kay in the office, Captain Ferguson(day gate guard), and the night gate guard on 7/22!! They took a very stressful situation and made it tremendously easier The condo was also extremely nice and clean!!

We stayed here three years ago and had a great time. Unfortunately the management does not care anymore, so if you have a bad experience you're supposed to just deal with it. Our room was FILTHY when we arrived. The first picture is just the dirt that we easily swept up from the entryway. The dishwasher had standing water, and the dishes in the cabinet were dirty. We found baby roaches in the bathroom on the second day. The living room started leaking on the third day. Management was supposed to call us to resolve the issue, but we got no phone calls other than high pressure sales pitches. We are done with Wyndham and will not do business with the new parent company Travel & Leisure. A ton of small problems that could have been easily corrected if management only cared a little.

My biggest complaints are the poor reservation process and the attitude of the personnel in trying to address the reservation process. We reserved a two bedroom deluxe months in advance for me, my wife and two adult daughters to enjoy Mother's Day weekend together. When reserving a 2 br there is no way to indicate where you want to stay (Bay Point, Marsh Point, Sea Palms, etc). So the unit can range from a large unit with ocean/bay view with easy access for golf carts to a small unit tucked into the woods (that might as well be in mid-state TN) with no way to use a golf cart. In addition, I discovered after making the reservation that the bed options within the unit are different and aren't clearly indicated when you reserve. So instead of a great weekend with my wife and adult daughters sitting on a balcony near the ocean we are stuck looking at trees and my adult daughters are having to share a bed. So for less than the maintenance fees for this month we could have stayed at a local state park with bigger accommodations, the correct number of beds and not driven 7 hours. NO OTHER LODGING RESERVATION PROCESS (Expedia, AirBnB, VRBO, hotel chains) expects you to reserve accommodations without knowing the exact bed count and room layout. And when I called to inquire about this ahead of the trip the front desk person made no effort to help find another option was very short with me when I expressed my frustrations. Edisto is an amazing place but Wyndham doesn't do anything to guarantee accommodations that allow you to enjoy it. Another example in a lengthy litany of why Wyndham is a scam.

Was nice, close to beach, wish we would have been put closer though. Rooms were clean but found a roach on 2nd day there. Was expecting 1 room with king and 2 beds in other room for both boys but was only 1 bed they had to share so not sure what happened there. We only had 2 days bc was told to evacuate due to Ian coming our way. Hoping to get points back

This was our first stay at the Club Wyndham here on Edisto. We have stayed at many other Wyndham resorts but this was without a doubt the worst Wyndham resort we have ever stayed at. Check in was supposed to be at 4pm, but we were not allowed into our room until after 6pm. The bedding for the pull out couch was not in the room. We called the first night to ask for it and they said they could get it to us that night but would write a note for it to be delivered in the morning. We left for Charleston the next morning and got back late. No bedding. We called and they said they couldn t bring it them but would leave another note . Finally got the bedding on the 3rd day! The window in the master bedroom leaked terribly in the rain. The dishwasher also leaked all over the floor. The floors were warped with sinking spots all over. Water damage has clearly been an issue here. We do not plan on returning. None of the staff seemed to care about the issues we were having. Everyone we talked to was extremely rude and uninterested in assisting us.

We were not in our normal area at the point and I was disappointed until it brought us a lot of new experiences. We had never used the beach cabana at the actual ocean Wyndham access site. We discovered how enjoyable it was to have a chair and an umbrella waiting for us, we spend the next day at the point shoreline and we had to drag everything out and no covering. So we now know the ocean area is very nice and you can enjoy such a great affordable service. Everywhere the resort is very well maintained and updated, exceptionally cleaned and having a phone number to our very own concierge 24 hrs a day is amazing! The new wrist bands are so convenient and comfortable, easy and takes the stress out of keeping your key card. We'd never used any of the pools before on our 4 visits, we are usually off season beach travelers and with heat up to 98 we found the pool very refreshing & was very well maintained. I really can't say anything negative about Wyndham Ocean Ridge. Thank you for everything, everyone who checks you in, text number personal concierge, beautiful unit and quiet low key setting. We can really relax when we're here, it's a different experience that everyone needs to experience. Thank you Wyndham start to finish.

We ended up choosing the location in the center of the island (entirely my fault), but it was still gorgeous. The apartment was great, though the floor plan was somewhat misleading, in that it appeared to have a large corner tub but our section had been remodeled with a deep standing version. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. I'd recommend it.

This place was pretty dirty (especially given it is a TimeShare). By far the dirtiest and terrible layout ever experienced. Kitchen dishes and flatware have to be stored in a coat closet for example.Rooms: The main bed was comfortable but the sofa pullout was not. Curtains were not attached at top and covered the AC ventsWalkability: Easy to get to the pool and walking around for exercise was good.Noteworthy details: I was pretty shocked that Wyndham would have this as one of their properties given very little dishes provided (only 1 pot) and the fact there was no drawers for utensils or cabinets for small appliances, etc. Some dishes were stored in the closet with the brooms and utensils.

Our family had a very nice visit at the resort. Staff is friendly and our request for a plumbing fix was promptly responded to. We stayed in the Beach Walk condos which are a convenient 3 blocks from the beach. The walk to the Activities Center was a bit farther. Resort is showing some wear on the carpets, furniture and floors. The resort website says that renovations are underway resort-wide in 2016. We would go back.We did come back and renovations at Beachwalk are complete. We like the new floors and furniture!

We stayed a week and throughly enjoyed the peace n quiet, it was off season for the Island but just my speed and temperatures. The condo was very nice and it was conveniently located by the gate. Check in was a small delay ( to many checking in ) and after traveling for hours it was frustrating ,but nicely made up when arrived to condo,, pleasant and clean !

The unit looks nothing like the pictures. Everything was dated and the bathroom fixtures were worn/dirty looking. The shower was large enough for a toddler, but the tub could have fit a family of 5. That makes no sense to me. Roaches were frequent visitors. The ones I didn t get died quickly, but there must have been 10-12 that were disposed of during my 4 night stay. Broken glass was found with my bare feet on the rear deck. Two of the pillow cases on the bed appeared to have makeup on them that wiped right off, so those hadn t been changed or cleaned. I m not a frequent hotel patron, but it s ones like this that make me never want to stay in another one.

Location is the only reason that this resort nudged out a fourth star. I recently stayed at Bay Point, it's proximity to the bay and the fact that it's one of the best viewpoints for dolphins and sunsets on the island is its greatest attribute. During our we were told that any extra dishwashing powder and toilet paper were not available. It was nice to have ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room, but none of them would spin beyond low speed. There were no spigots around to wash off anything, that was also a bummer. The furniture was in good shape though and the beds were comfortable, in my opinion. Beware of the mosquitoes though, I was eaten alive without bug spray. We stayed in a building on the second row back. If we were oceanfront that would've been great, but it's still a nice location with great views, convenient beach access, and ample parking.

Area was nice and relaxed. Evidently we were given one of the units that had not been updated. Sorry to say our room was sub par, not clean (the floor was filthy), had a stale smell, and was just overall not what we ve come to expect at a Wyndham. Curb side Check in was great and so was our host. The bed was nice and comfortable - but that s about it. Wont stay there again.

Beautiful location on my favorite island. Pretty peaceful place to visit. The wildlife is preserved here. The ocean is nearby. Due to the customer service, though, I have to lower the rating to 3 stars. I've stayed here 5 times now. Each time either the front desk people give false information and are rude, and/or the units are not properly stocked and cleaned. When fresh towels, linens, etc are requested you might get them 2 days later..I'm staying here now. Been here since Wednesday still have not received all the towels that are supposed to be in the room or are needed for the group I'm with and we have called and been to the office about it daily since check in. The tubs were also not cleaned until I did it myself and the dishes weren't completely cleaned. Staff doesn't care though.

I have stayed here every other year for the past 8 yrs w/my 2 young dghtrs. It provides every amenity they advertise. There are fewer staff members b/c the complex is mostly self-paced activity (including dropping dish detergent into the dishwasher). Every staff member I have encountered is actively working their job, but has a second to stop, smile, and share a warm greeting w/us. The beach is peaceful & clean. The rooms are well-furnished and comfortable. The local restaurants are unique and delicious. As a mother, I find this complex to be family-friendly and a wonderful spot to feel safe w/young children as we play & watch nature at its finest! It's irritating for me to read reviews of people who complain that the rooms aren't unnecessarily updated (grey tones are boring when you're on AN ISLAND anyway!) when visitors are clearly not aware that residents of the island are barely trying to put their houses back together and don't need Wyndham to throw that back in their faces!!This resort is a great vacation for singles, couples, and families at all stages!

I booked a 2 bedroom suite for Wyndham Ocean Ridge, Edisto Beach for June back in February. I received a confirmation email from Wyndham, they drafted a night's stay deposit from my account and they sent follow up emails preparing us for our stay. Fast forward, they cancelled our trip via email on the day of arrival, 4 hours before check in. We had a child and a 74 year old on board and a boat in tow. They had even called the day before to verify the names of who would be staying, the vehicles we were driving and to get our ETA. They refuse to take blame, appologize or compensate us for our loss. There were no other vacancies on the island so we drove back home and lost our summer fishing vacation. The whole company is rude and shady. Don't do business with them. They will sell your booked room to the highest bidder and send you walking without a second thought and then send you a survey asking how you are enjoying your stay the next day while you are at your house. They will also charge you for a late cancellation but will provide no compensation for you when they overbook. Does this sound fun? Get a beach house instead. One star was given because ZERO is not an option.

Check in was supposed to be at 4pm. We were not allowed into the condo until close to 5pm. Not acceptable after a 5 hour drive to even get there. The bathtub jets fried when my husband turned them on. It was an electrical burning smell. He was in the tub at the time! There were also critters scratching on the door of the condo next to us...ALL.NIGHT.The condo itself was ok. Clean and comfortable. There were also great places to go for a walk. It was nice and quiet...minus the scratching critters.

This was such a wonderful experience! The night we got there a transformer blew and all the power went out but the staff at Wyndham was amazing. Still got us checked in and had wonderful attitudes. The amenities were terrific and our unit was beautiful with gorgeous views of the low country. Becky, Amber, and Samantha were just amazing. Take a trip and you'll be transported. Just wonderful.

Nice rooms. They are smaller than their larger resorts but they have a wonderful set away feeling. Our room directly looks over the bay. The master bedroom has a washer and dryer and a huge jetted tub perfect for relaxing. The couch folds out to a wonderful queen sized bed. The only thing I would change are the twin beds in the second room. They are easy to work with and the space doesn't really allow for more. Still wonderful. Love it!

My family loved the serene, almost tropical property. Our room was the perfect layout for us with three separate floors - a main living area, a master bedroom and a kids room. We took issue with two things: 1. It was clear upon arrival that our room was not fully prepared and/our cleaned and 2. The premium for coffee or bike rentals seemed a little too much to justify, even for a resort.
