Shawn performed excellent work on my wife's 2002 S2000. We spoke at length about the car before I ever brought it in. I could tell from one phone call that Shawn was an expert when it came to Hondas and autos in general. The car had sat untouched for 9 years and would not crank or shift into gear. We believed it needed a new clutch at minimum to run again. When we had it towed in, I had little hope of a successful repair and expected a call telling us that the costs would exceed the car's value. Surprisingly, Shawn got the car running almost immediately. As expected, more issues were encountered as the car ran. Shawn was honest about each of them with us, and talked us through options and costs before doing additional work. The only thing that slowed him down on this job was waiting for parts to be delivered. Unlike dealerships, he didn't have ridiculous marked up prices for parts. When you take your vehicle here, you are certain to get quality work from an honest individual for a fair price. I will recommend him to anyone and will continue to bring our Honda here. Shawn repaired my Acura perfectly and saved me a ton of money. Another mechanic told me I needed a new transmission but I called Shawn for a second opinion . He diagnosed it and said I was low on fluid and after he flushed it 3 times my RDX drives like new! I will definitely be going back to him for service.

Shawn diagnosed our Honda within a minute after opening the hood.. We had a check fuel cap light that our other mechanic could not find the issue. Shawn was able to fix that issue and also the radiater was bad. He replaced that and changed transmission fluid. Car runs much better than it did. He kept us updated the whole time. Very professional and discusses everything so you understand what needs to be done. I would recommend to anyone. So if you have issues with your Honda or Acura Shawn is the one to talk to.Mary W

Shawn is the best!! He came recommended from a friend and he didn't disappoint! My car runs better than it did the day I bought it. He explained everything in great detail and let me know the advantages and disadvantages of car services when he says hes certified he means it. I absolutely LOVE driving my Honda Pilot even more now. 2005 Acura MDX Touring (200k+ miles)The short story is this - Shawn is one of the best, most knowledgeable, technically proficient service providers I've found in the history of my vehicle ownership!Full version -I was driving in town from out of state on one of the hottest days in June when my AC decided it had finally had enough. While still on the freeway headed into Columbia, I googled Acura specialists and found Second Opinion Automotive. I called Shawn and explained what I was experiencing. He asked a few questions then proceeded to pretty much nail a diagnosis and gave me a repair estimate range. I couldn't get to him that day {which he offered), but made an appointment for first thing the next morning.When I arrived Shawn didn't waste time. He popped the hood and went to work. While my AC was recharging we had an incredible conversation about my car, cars in general, our experiences, and the state of the industry. He damn near gave a TED talk! LolThe best part of it was that he spoke at a level that I (or anyone, I believe) could understand, and he was insightful with honest opinions.The final cost was within his quote, and below what I was expecting to pay. BONUS!I've dealt with dealers/technicians in California (where I bought the car) and Georgia (where I currently reside), and in my 15 years of owning this vehicle Shawn has been the best.GIVE HIM YOUR BUSINESS! I've consulted multiple mechanics after my car completely broke down on a university campus one day. I've had people saying multiple things that included:- I needed to get the car towed because the issue is major and can't be done without taking to a shop- I might as well sell the car, because it would cost me a fortune to get fixed.- My battery is the sole reason, I just needed a new battery (irrelevant)Then I met Shaune. In a 24-hour span, thanks to his promptness and knowledge, my car is running better than before and I paid a fraction of what every other mechanic said I'd end up paying. Shawn has worked on both my Honda vehicles. Adjusted valves on an older Accord and it made a huge difference with gas mileage and a smoother ride. He has done tune ups, brake jobs and other service and has saved me money. This man knows his craft and what I like best is he shows you damaged parts he replaces and explains everything. If you want your repairs done right, bring them here! Shawn is highly experienced with many years in the industry, especially with Honda and other imports. He will give it to you straight and treat you fairly. I put a lot of miles on my vehicles and always bring them to him, and refer all of my friends, because I know exactly what I'm getting.

Shawn is a top notch individual and very knowledgeable about Hondas. In our case the outcome was not good as the repair was going to cost more than the vehicle was worth. Shawn informed us of all the things he tried and the cost. We knew the possibility the car was on its last leg. There are not many people, much less mechanics I trust 100%. Shawn is one of those few. Very professional and knowledgeable. I called him a few weeks ago about concerns with a used Honda Pilot that I just bought. He took 45 minutes of his time to talk with me about all my concerns and provided me with great insights about my car. No other mechanic would ever spend that much time on a phone talking to someone. It shows that he has a genuine love for cars and helping others!

Excellent service, fair prices for the work, professional and extremely knowledgeable.03 Honda Civic had some issues, dealership literally quoted me a whole new engine and refused to do anything else.Second Opinion ran diagnostic tests to find the issue. They went through every test performed and what the results lead him towards fixing. Haven't had a check engine light since going there.Literally would have been around $3,000 more to do what the dealer suggested instead with the new motor (just because they didn't want to and decided to screw me over, seemingly in an attempt to force me into a new car)Definitely trust you won't get the run around about your vehicle here. Great place to take your vehicle. Sean always fixes the problem and does it the right way. I never have to worry about weather or not it really got fixed. Mr. Sellinger s care for my 05 TL was second to none. I am a complete novice under the hood of a vehicle. He recommended and even showed me what was done to my vehicle and how to care for it. I entrust my life and the lives of my family to him and his expertise. My 05 TL had more than 375,000 miles on it before an accident that took her away. I still call and ask for advice as I live in Virginia now and cannot regularly bring my vehicle in. If you want someone that is honest, fair, and will take proactive care of your vehicle, Mr. Sellinger s shop is the one for you.
