A Chevy dealer in Northern Virginia almost took me to the cleaners for costly clutch repairs and alleged "battery issues" with my GMC Canyon.After a quick phone call to Midas, the manager, Scott, said to bring my truck in and he would have his team look at it.I winched my pickup onto a carhauler, drove over 6 hours to Hard Scrabble Road, and was greeted with an enthusiastic high-five from one of the techs. The staff carefully unloaded my truck from the carhauler, pushed it into a parking spot, and even respooled the winch. Scott guided me as I moved my Chevy Tahoe and carhauler out of the main parking area.The team at Midas were phenomenal. Scott would price out the work with OEM, new, and remanufactured parts and informed me of labor rates where applicable. He also provided regular updates on the diagnostics and repair progress. They determined that the master clutch cylinder needed to be replaced and my battery "problem" was actually an overcharging alternator and a failing BCM.With my Canyon's clutch repaired and alternator replaced, I drove up and swapped out vehicles to have the Tahoe caught up on maintenance.Many heartfelt thank-yous to the team and Scott at Midas Hard Scrabble Road for their hard work in getting my vehicles roadworthy and safe for me to drive.

The staff was really nice and accommodating. I was able to get an appointment for an oil change on short notice. The service was performed quickly and professionally and I was in and out within an hour. I will be back again.

Midas gave me one of the best experiences that I haven t had in a while. The gentleman s name is Justin. He very polite, and courteous. I was greeted and made comfortable with leaving my vehicle with them. And at my return the same great greeting. Justin was very detailed in summarizing my visit. And made me feel like he really appreciated me coming in. So Midas off of Hardscrabble road will get ALL of my business. It makes me feel good when you make me want to spend money with you!! That s what I call a Business! Great good Justin!!!!

The guys here were super helpful friendly, and did not pressure me into buying something I did not want or need. They made sure to walk me out show me exactly what I needed and what was wrong. Aaron, the technician was quick and efficient and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place again and come back for future service.

Was lied to about my vehicle being looked at twiced and was told by Manger Scott that it will be priority 4 days after vehicle was towed in. Then found that Midas was over charging me on parts and possible labor. Once I was able to prove this, the manager Scott declines repairing my vehicle due to him being frustrated because I asked for itemized receipt on what it is exactly i was paying for. Before we can agree to a price. Scott begin to get disrespectful and decline fixing my vehicle due to not being qualified. This would have been fine if my vehicle have not been sitting at this location for 9 days. Now all my time have been wasted and my car still haven't been repaired. Corporate has got a complaint by me. Never will come backJust a follow up.Vehicle was towed and worked on by Brown Motors on Broadriver.They replaced 5 coolant lines Midas wanted to first charge me $800 after my warranty payment for 2 lines. Then around $500 after I had to go back and forth with managerMy out of pocket cost after payment $214 at Brown. Midas labor time was 7. Then 4.3 after going back and forth. Brown did 5 lines in 4hrs flat. NEVER take your car here. They will cheat you.

My son and his fiance took their car here to reseal oil leaks. It was running fine when it went in to the shop. When they went to pick it up, they were told they need an engine. Not trustworthy, nor ethical in anyway.

My wife s Acadia was towed to Midas for overheating as we ve used them for 15 years. They worked on the radiator and sent my wife on her way- $1,200 for hoses. I happened to ask my wife a few weeks later how the car was since we don t drive it a ton. Her response- ever since Midas had it my engine fan runs - this never happened before. I called and the guy who answered said probably air bubbles, should be fine. Later, when I noticed it was running consistently 240 degrees I made an appointment to bring in but unfortunately had an emergency. Finally, was able to bring it in and told them the radiator was the issue last month - it never really improved . I expected them to take care of something maybe they missed nope. You need a new radiator thermostat and hoses. $2400. Coincidence? I didn t think so, but the manager Scott and corporate boss Justin sure did. A Manager will call you back they said. 24 hours later car is still there, wife Ubers to work -no call. So I called back- he s been trying to call you - I have no missed calls nor my wife. Scott, the manager got on the phone and started talking immediately when he realized I was trying to hold them responsible for not fixing the original problem- the radiator. He did to his credit try to give me a discount -still $1600. I decided I d had my last of Midas days as the prices have been astronomical- however they ve always been nice and convenient back to the days of Cindy.I Called when I got the car home to get full details on what I needed and what was wrong. Radiator leak (no details) need new thermostat and hoses- probably need a water pump, too Scott reports. Had a mobile mechanic with great reviews a friend introduced me to stop by. He walked me through why it was not all these things and pointed something interesting out- a reservoir leak $80 fix- was leaking near the entry to the radiator, hence why they replaced the hoses originally that really more than likely were ok. Unbelievable smh $80. or grand total of $3,700. How as a mechanic do you not look at the reservoir first?? I am mainly posting this so people will please look at prices and get second opinions for jobs like this when considering Midas. I ve done the math of 13.7% increase in their cost over the last 5 years for 3 of my vehicles in comparison to other local chains. Oil changes and tires sure- yes it s my fault I chose and trusted them with this and I ve paid for it- just be careful with what you allow them to when it comes to more major repairs.

I am very unhappy with the service that I received. I paid over $600 for my car to come back worst then what it was. When I took it back they told me that we said to tune it up and change the oil so that's all they did without looking at it or doing a diagnosis. That's like me going to a doctor and asking for a colonoscopy and they say ok, bend over. No one should do anything to your car without a diagnosis first. Then they took the car back and pretended to fix it and charged me more money! The car is a hot mess so much so, that I'm having to look for a new car. I will never go to Midas again or refer anyone to them. I'm out of a car and my money.Update: I got a call from a Midas representative that asked if I had proof that we didn't ask for a diagnostic, I said my father has been a mechanic for over 50 years, he would never go anywhere and not ask for a diagnostic. Like i told him, how can someone walk into an establishment and tell you the professional to change my coil pack and you say ok and do it without looking to see if it needs to be done. Thats like me going into the doctors office and telling him, the professional in his field, to give me a colonoscopy and him saying ok, bend over. He would do some things before hand to cover himself and make an educated determination as to whether i needed it or not before he performed the procedure so why is Midas any different? UNPROFESSIONAL. Then he said well a diagnostic cost a lil over a hundred dollars. Sir, i paid you guys over $700 are you kidding me? I would have be glad to pay the 100 dollars vs that! So again, I am very unhappy with their service, I wont recommend them to anyone U know and I know alot of people and I hope that in the future, the resolve is better. #gosomewhereelse
