What I thought would be a week-long recovery for my car, turned out to be three hours! I called ahead of time to let them know of my arrival and issue, and it was promptly taken care of like that! Big shout out to the guys at Goodyear, they were very helpful, informative, and transparent about the entire process. Thanks guys!

You couldn't ask for a better overall experience. If you work in the downtown Columbia area, they're very convenient for a walk to and from to get your car serviced or repaired. The gentlemen working there are professional and knowledgeable. They're also very kind. I recommend this business wholeheartedly.

The service technician broke something. I spoke with the management, and they denied responsibility for it. I make a decent salary in have no reason to lie on someone just to have the vehicle taken care of. I simply wanted them to take responsibility for their errors. Since they fail to do so, I won't return and I have shared this news so that others know how they operate. I don't advise that you take your vehicle there.

Easy online ordering and setting my appointment. I dropped my vehicle off at 10am and was told it would be ready at 2pm. I received a call at 12pm telling me I was ready. Excellent

Terrible service and I wouldn t recommend this location to anyone. I had a similar service done at a different location on harbison and they guy tried to charge me double for a price that should be the same across the board.

Update(7/14/2023) Had an appointment for 9:30am. Went to drop it off. Asked how soon they could have it ready and they said "today." With an appointment and only asking for oil change and tire rotation, "today" is simply unacceptable. They told me they had 5 cars left from yesterday(not confidence inducing for "today") and several people had walked in before I got there(isn't that why I scheduled an appointment?) Ultimately I told them that not having a commitment to a time was simply unacceptable. For me "today" can't be any later than 2pm which should be more than sufficient to even work me in. I asked if I was to stay what they would say and I was advised that I would get the same response. As I said in the previous review, I have always had good service and price here but the time is unbearable. They obviously do a great business as I could barely get in the parking lot. They do a lot of cars for State government offices and I feel like this is the issue. They can't seem to get to the public customer cars.They do good service but this is at least the 3rd time I've left my car and it's taken them ALL DAY to complete simple services. I can't keep using them and reccomneding them when you can't count on getting your car back in reasonable time.

Incredibly rude staff. You tell them what's wrong and they treat you like an idiot for telling them what's wrong and what you would like fixed. All for them to tell you exactly what you just said like you didn't know already and end up fixing it anyway. Insufferable.

About two years ago, I took my car to get an oil change at Goodyear located at 1400, Gervais Street Columbia SC. Before paying I asked if there were any maintenance suggestions that needed to be taken care of. The guy helping me, looked over my receipt and told me there were no suggestions.By 6:00 AM the next morning the oil light came on. I called Goodyear, the manager told me that if I put oil in my car, he will refund me once I got to Goodyear. I didn t make it to Goodyear, as the car got progressively worse. Later that day, They called and said something to this effect of, "You're going to be unhappy with us, the tech that did the oil change didn't put in an oil filter." He told me that the tech that did this has been in his office crying all morning about it. He said it was unlike this tech to do something like this. I said its Christmas time and people have a lot on their mind. He said that now it would have to go through their insurance company. I was denied. They admitted fault, refunded my $16.00 for the oil I put in that morning, and denied my claim, I was denied by their insurance. I was never made whole. My car died and they didn't even refund the oil change.Update 1/17I saw Goodyear reached out to me because of my review. I called and ,Surprise! They will not help me. Guess they just wanted to appear helpful. Please go somewhere else. Save yourself.

I have been coming to this Goodyear ever since I started school in Columbia 3 years ago. They provide great, quick service and are always so kind. I took my car here to get an oil change and after picking it up, I had to take off my temporary license plate and place my permanent one on. I was in the parking lot struggling to get off the old plate and one of the workers, Jeff, saw I needed some assistance and came over to help me. Jeff took time out of his day to help me change the plates (which ended up being probably close to 20 minutes since wrong screws were used to hold the temporary plate in place). It shows just how caring the workers are and how they are always willing to help you. Definitely come here for any car services!!!

Really honest guys.My daughter went to the other guys . They wanted to sell her 2 tires due to a screw too close to sidewall.We have always been a Goodyear family.I told her to go up the street.Not only was screw NOT too close to sidewall. Screw hadn t even punctured tire. Just stuck in thick tread.Dad s feel okay sending your kids here.

They have always taken great care of my car. My whole family uses Goodyear-Gervais to service their vehicles. They are always honest, affordable and let you know what you need ASAP, and what can wait. I now live in Lexington but still bring my car to them.

My daughter went to this location to for a simple oil change so she felt comfortable driving home for Thanksgiving break. When she arrived for her appointment she was told that her car requires, their word, a synthetic oil change. That is an untrue statement. Ford does not require synthetic for her car, it is recommended but not required. So they lie to her and try to take advantage of a young woman, a college student with a fixed income, who us a hundred or so miles away from home and try to upsell her to a product she does not need. I should not be getting a phone call from her with her being in tears because you want to make your sales quota for the month. Unacceptable and i will not recommend Goodyear to anyone i know every again. Completely unprofessional and uncalled for.

Got a screw in our tire soon as we left the hotel on our road trip. They were very professional got us in an out n on our way. We had both kids and both dogs with us. They offered to let us have the dogs in the waiting room. We ended up just walking around downtown n getting a bite to eat. Our truck was done when we got back. We paid n back on the road. Well done

First time going here ever and highly disappointed in the microaggression that I faced for the brief time I was there. A young man allowed me to get in front of him and the gentleman at the counter seemed bothered by it. I stated that the gentleman allowed me to go first and he waited until the young man validated that. Even then he gave me a look of disgust and just stared at me. Finally I spoke despite wanting to leave. He answered a couple of my questions and instead of dropping off the vehicle I just said I needed to check something and left. Next time, I'll have someone else take the car.

While dropping my daughter off at UofSC got a flat tire after driving 500 miles down on Sunday evening. Met Jeff at the garage first thing the next morning, and after discovering my other tires were almost shot, he was able to get new set of tires installed and alignment adjusted within a couple hours to help me start my 8 hour drive home. I can t speak highly enough about Jeff s professionalism, his friendly demeanor, and the quick turnaround of his stellar crew. If you re looking for tires or general service I would definitely check out this location. Thanks again, Jeff!

Hooked up by interstate pot hole. They had the tire I needed and replaced in about 90 mins...even though I didn't have an appointment. Great work and good prices. I'm more than pleased with the service.

I have used this location for a couple years now and bought 2 sets of tires from them. Apparently they are very short staffed now. I went 2 days in a row trying to get an oil change and was turned away both times. They said they were too busy, couldn't help me. I offered to drop the car off for several hours both days but was still refused service both times. I definitely wouldn't recommend this location, nor will I be going back.

Excellent service!!! Kind and knowledgeable staff!!! They are honest and take pride in their work. I have been to many auto service places over my years but I found this group about 10 years ago and have stayed with them. I have even used other Goodyear locations but have found this particular location to be the BEST in the Midlands.

This shop is to be commended. Was traveling on Christmas Eve and needed a TPMS installed and a tire repaired. They got me in, fixed and out the door in under an hour. Very polite and understanding. Thank you to the crew that was working on 12/24/2021.

Very kind employees. My car battery died a few blocks down and when jumping it didn't work we came here. They let me borrow a car jumper and when that didn't work, an employee offered and came by after getting off work (which was only 40 minutes from that time) to jump start me. He had a bigger car and was able to jump my car. Thankfully it worked this time after letting it sit for 10 minutes and I was able to drive to an auto parts store to get a new battery. Truly amazing people.

Service staff were excellent. Purchased 4 new tires and these guys had me in and out the door the quickest I've ever seen. Better service than Firestone and Costco tires so if you're shopping tires or service this location is the best in Columbia by far. Don't be intimidated by the downtown traffic because they're location makes it super easy to get in and out when you're on the clock.

My son s in College in SC and I live in GA. His brakes were really screeching. So he parked at Good Year Friday night. Saturday morning he went in and was advised of what was wrong with his car. The cost of what was needed to fix his car was a little more than we anticipated. However, the Service Manager Jeff was great, he took the time to tell me what and why rather than just say this needs to be done and this is how much it s going to cost. He also let us know what needs to be fixed later rather than say it needs to be taken care of now. I really appreciated his honesty, concern and compassion. Thank You So Much!!

I have had many issue with franchise shops through my driving career so far, basically the business wants to maximize their profit at the expense of customer satisfaction. Happy to report that is not the case here, fair price with quality work. Can t go wrong here

My company uses the location for many of their needs. I came in at 8:15 am to get an oil changeThere was already one person getting tires. He was told takes about an 1 1/2 hours to get a set He said ok. I was told they were waiting on their morning appointments that were not there yet. And they only had 2 people working and had 3 other cars ahead of me. No one was in any bay I was told it would take 3 to 4 hours for a oil change. if I waitJust seems ridiculous to me

Service and prices are average. I worked out a good brake deal via the phone with Jeff. I asked him if I should come and sign the paperwork and he said no it is fine we will get it taken care of. Once I got to the shop I found out they didn't flush my brake lines which was part of the deal. Bottom line they lie about small things. Their word isn't good. I wouldn't recommend them for any type of work. If they lie about small things then they probably cut corners when possible.

These guys are very friendly helpful and honest. I have used them for plenty of different jobs and they are prompt accommodating and they don't try to up-sell you.They have been very accommodating in last minute situations and helped me with filing a road hazard tire replacement claimEasy walk from here to the Vista, the Baptist Hospital, USCDon't hesitate to bring your car in--they will take care of you

This is a great location. I get nervous about visiting car shops because you never know who will rip you off. However these guys were honest when my brakes went out and instead of recommending new rotors and all new brakes, fixed up what they could replaced only what was needed and gave me advice in timeline and what to look out for in the future.

This is more of a review about the character of a Goodyear employee at this location. I am sorry I don't remember his name, but a few months ago, while driving home from work, I noticed smoke coming out from under the hood. Without thinking, I turned down the closest side street to get out of the way of traffic. I happened to turn and stop right in front of Goodyear.After a few minutes of checking things out myself, one of the employees from Goodyear came out to ask if I needed help. I told him what happened and he went to get water for the radiator. After putting the water in the radiator he noticed water running out one of the hoses. I asked his advice if he thought I could get it home and call a tow truck the next day. He thought I could. And I did.My point is, this man didn't have to come out and help me. I think it was 6 o'clock or later. I am not a customer. But with his help, I was able to get home and take care of my car the next day. So thank you sir for your help and kindness. It was greatly appreciated.
