I called ahead for an issue with my 1-year-old Chevrolet truck regarding two taillights that were having issues. Since the light was turning on sometimes but not all the time, I considered it could be a relay or something complex that I wouldn t be able to change out on my own. I also didn t think a bulb could just blow out after just a year and a half of buying it brand new.On the phone, I gave Love Chevrolet information on my truck so they could validate the warranty, AND gave a brief description of the issues I was having. They informed me it had a bumper-to-bumper warranty for 3 years/36,000 miles, and I made an appointment on the basis that my issue would be covered. Finally, after service, I was informed it was TWO faulty bulbs... on a truck that is only 1.5 years old, with 19,000 miles! Not only this, but my warranty REJECTED it, and I was charged ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) to change TWO LIGHT BULBS! These light bulbs were $7.50 each on the invoice.First of all, even after describing the issue on the phone, I was NOT informed that the light and bulb warranty (something I was not even aware was separate from the bumper-to-bumper warranty) was expired and that I could potentially be thwarted the absolutely outrageous price of repair. Secondly, they charge $100 to change two LIGHT BULBS?? I could have been informed it was the bulbs in 5 minutes of the repairman just looking at it without touching it, and went to an auto parts store myself for the bulbs and unscrew the taillight assembly myself in 10 minutes to replace them. Third and finally, this truck is so new that I shouldn t be having issues like these at such an early model and low mileage. While that s not necessarily Love Chevrolet s fault, that s something you should consider before purchasing a GM vehicle. This is legal theft, and after that service, along with the Love Chevy Jiffy Lube conducting a $30 tire rotation I didn t ask for and charging me $88 for what was basically an oil change, I will NOT be returning to this service center. Not to mention they attempted to sell me this same truck for $4000 more than how much I paid for it at a dealership in NC, who I will also be contacting. I m outraged at the experiences I ve had at this dealership and service center. GO ELSEWHERE IF YOU CAN FOR BOTH SERVICE AND PURCHASING A VEHICLE!!!I understand I may sound over dramatic about some light bulbs going out, but if this incident is indicative of Chevrolet vehicles and service at their dealerships and service centers, I m motivated more than ever to get rid of this truck and purchase another Toyota. Also keep in mind Toyota vehicles usually cover 2 years of free oil changes; my Chevrolet truck had ONE free oil change.
