I had a terrible experience with AAA FOREST ACRES.On Valentine s Day I took my truck to AAA forest acres for a brake issueI explained what the problem was and asked them to fix it. The next day I got a text giving me a list of everything they said was wrong with my truck most of it had nothing to do with my brakes. And the wanted $1400 to repair my truck. I asked if they would just fix what I needed them to fix and they said for safety reason they would have to fix everything on the list.I had truck towed to my house where I did the work myself. When I driove my truck after the brake repair in found my truck was skipping and running terrible. When I dropped truck off at AAA-it was running fine.I checked my truck further and the air breather was left unhooked. I also noticed that some of the things they said needed repair were in good condition and working properly.I felt very compelled at that time to do a review and let the community know the type of establishment this is.I felt that they were dishonestI will never use AAA again. And I suggest no one else use this location either.

This place was very nice in terms of service. They fixed my car quick and communicated often to keep me in the know. Unfortunately, that great service was tainted by how they left my car. I would never expect them to wash it to make it look amazing, but they left my car an absolute mess, especially inside the door. It was very unfortunate to be given a car that way when I spent the money I did and was originally very thankful how quickly they got it fixed.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Went in for an oil change at start of September, and also asked to please check transmission fluid as there was an undiagnosed problem I was trying to identify. Was told afterwards by the front that they couldn't check fluid- it was in a spot where there would have to disassemble things, but since I was due for a transmission service they were happy to do that. I had my trans rebuilt last summer, so mfr dates mean nothing.. I said no thank you, and after checking out walked around to speak with the mechanic because I knew that was a load of hogwash. They apologized for the ignorance of the front desk and assured me they checked transmission fluid and it was fine. But I shouldn't have to have done so, and any lesser knowing person would've payed the extra $$$ for the transmission service..2 months later, and small thing, but I went to use my windshield wiper fluid this morning (something I do not normally do) and it's bone dry. Wiper fluid is listed in the description of the oil change service on the AAA website. I paid $80+ for the most basic of service, and it wasn't even completed fully.Do not recommend.

Save your time, money, and sanity. Go anywhere else. All they do is read codes, they don't actually diagnose. Parts markup is more than 10x. I'm down $500 to fix a code that wasn't the problem, and would have been down another almost $900 without the car being fixed, except when they called back and said "didn't work, we want to do this next," I got smart. Towed my car to a real shop. Real shop fixed the second code, and replaced the fuel pump (the real problem), and did my 100k mile service all for $800

Arrived on Saturday morning for an intentional drivers license. Rebecca was bubbly, friendly and gosh, so lovely. Absolutely delightful visit, I'd have you know! Be careful in the parking lot so that your car doesn't get knocked.

The AAA operator was pushing the tires because our granddaughter had a flat tire and it wasn't salvageable. When we got there we were told they didnt keep much of a tire inventory. They didn't seem to be prepared for a tire emergency.

Just went to get info on how to proceed with a repair. Excellent information on what to look into and will begin service week after the Super Bowl.

This place is great. The car care system is kind and hard working. Travel if you have any needs stop in they can answer any questions. Then they have insurance it's a one stop shop.

I just went to the AAA travel center for an IDP and Christina and her trainee provided exemplary service. I was in and out with everything needed in just a few minutes. Best service I have received to date at any AAA store. Thank you so much!

Came in with friend to get international license and staff treated us like we were long-time friends. Jessica and Abigail were really helpful and extremely knowledgeable about international travel, including currency (unfortunately, I recently exchanged at a bank which cost me a lot more than AAA charges). Thanks staff for the phenomenal service.

I walked into this location on 01.28.23 for an oil change and was told that I needed to have my right rear CV axle shaft replaced. The part would have to be ordered and would be on 01.30.23. I scheduled an appointment for 02.04.23 at 8am to have it replaced. I showed up for the appointment but was told the part had not come in yet. Would have been nice if someone would have called me and told me. I then rescheduled the appointment for 02.11.23 and was assured the part would be in by then. I called today 02.09.23 to make sure the part was in. I was told the part was not there yet and Danny would call Napa to find out where it was and would call me back within an hour. That was 6 hours ago and I still have not received a return phone call. In the mean time I called another mechanic and took my car to him and as it turns out my car does not have a right rear CV axle shaft.Be careful taking your vehicle to them.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Easily one of the worst and most frustrating auto maintenance experiences I have ever had. Dropped off for a simple oil change. During the oil change the maintenance crew changed a battery setting on my car that left my headlights on. After picking it up I drove to do some shopping and when I returned my battery was dead. When I called to inform the tech crew, the technician that I spoke to actually accused me of lying and refused to pass along the name of his supervisor. When I finally got through the regional manger he admitted fault, however, did not reimbursement me for the full total of a battery replacement. It was the best I could do, apparently. Do not use AAA for any repair or maintenance, period. Not only is it prohibitively expensive, but their crews are also completely unconcerned by any feedback you may give them concerning your service.Services: Battery, Oil change

Recently had my auto break down and was recommended by a family member to give AAA a try. It turned out to just need a screw and AAA did this for me at no charge. I immediately signed up for membership as they have earned my business. Thank you to the staff that helped me out!

Terrible service. Michael needs to be spoken to about his rudeness or needs to be in a position without customer contact. He was very rude when I went in to get my car serviced so I decided against it. I left and found a different center to take it to but I needed the receipts for the repairs that had been done at this and another location. Michael made fun of my speech after asking me several yes and no questions to which all of my answers were yes. Upon receiving the emailed copy I asked for, I see that nothing was documented the day I brought my car to this location previously. According to the paper they just did an inspection. I knew I should've asked for a print out at that time but since it was my 3rd time in to allow AAA to fix the problems caused by another AAA car center repair, I assumed it not to be odd to just be told i was all set after an hour or so. I thought it was fast, but there werent many people or cars there that day. The result was me missing a day of work when I started to experience a drivability issue on the highway after nit driving the car much since my visit here. This could've resulted in serious injury or death to me or someone else.

Service writer misled me on additional charges for battery. To be precise he omitted charge for battery installation and led me to believe that the battery had already been installed so I could not decline the installation and go elsewhere. I have been a AAA member since 1995 and this will most likely be my last year. Very shady practices.Service: Battery

Just moved to the Forest Acres area of Columbia and was looking forward to trying this shop as a AAA member. I made an appointment for my specific vehicle over the phone without any problems. I get there, and the first comment from the heavyset service manager (I did not catch his name) was that I was late for the appointment - never mind that I was dropping the vehicle off, they weren't busy at all, and I never received an actual time when I set up the appointment over the phone. He then comes out and tells me that my vehicle (a 3/4-ton SUV) is too large for their lift and they will not be able to complete the service. The miscommunication over the size of the vehicle is an honest mistake, although they should have recognized this when the appointment was made. The real issue was the service manager's horrendous attitude - he was argumentative, defensive, and not apologetic at all for wasting my time. They may do fine work but in the 10 minutes I was there, I could tell they were horrible folks to work with. Seems like other recent reviews concur.

I've been going here for years, but recently have been less impressed with the overall experience. Feels like I pay "above and beyond" prices, but get bare minimum service. Last time, the link to check my vehicle inspection report wasn't even working so I had to get a verbal review of all the things that had been checked and what they all meant. I will be looking around for an independent mechanic who is hungrier for my business and deserves my hard-earned money. Not a bad experience, but they just don't seem to be trying hard anymore.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

April 10, 2023.Service is non-existent. As a member of AAA, I went to this AAA location to "purchase" foreign currency. This was my second visit.I visited the first time last week and was told by a man who identified himself as the regional manager, that Terry, the ONLY person who could handle the transaction, was out and that I needed to come back another time. During that visit, I suggested that Terry be required to cross train someone else so that the customer can be served even in Terry's absence.Today, April 10, it happened again. I visited and was told by the regional manager (RM) that Terry had just left for lunch and no one else could/would help. Additionally, the RM decided to educate me on the difference in "exchanging" vs "purchasing" currency in what I perceived to be a condescending manner. No matter which transaction I wanted, it couldn't get handled because Terry was not there!Mr. RM, don't "train" me; train yourself and your staff so that the customer can receive the service for which they come.Rather than return to the Forest Drive location, which is about 12 minutes from my house, I decided to go to the AAA location in Irmo, which is about 30 minutes from my house. I have in hand the receipt where the Irmo AAA has ordered the currency. Deborah at the Irmo location was professional and personable. For all of my AAA service needs, I'll be patronizing the Irmo location. The Forest Drive location and the Irmo location have different RMs; I asked.Take notes AAA Forest Drive!

Oil change appointment was for 7:30AM dropped car off the night before using the early bird drop off box, I received a call at 9:20 the next morning asking if I drop my car off for oil change. I ask if they check the drop off box at 7:30 when they come in and I was told they don t check the early bird box if they have a lot of cars for service. What s the point to have an early bird box if you re going to let people cars sit for 2 hours before checking the box? Very disappointing. When I pick my car up it was more than I anticipated so I ask the gentleman why then he explain extra oil I would have thought I would be told we had to use an extra quart of oil but instead I had to askService: Oil change

This location needs help in the travel department. I wasn't called when my currency came in. I tried calling every day for a week, and no one answered in travel. I would either get the auto department or another branch, usually one out of state. I had to go in person to check for my currency, and the person told me someone would call me when it came in. I explained the situation and they finally checked for me, even though they gave me a hard time about it. Luckily, it was there, and I didn't get more run around after that.

Been a AAA member since 1996. My first auto service on my present car was 10-11-07. Have always been treated well as a customer. However, this last time on 04/18/22, I had a minor problem with MR. Manager, Jeff. For some reason, he exudes an uptight demeanor with a forced smile. When he explains something to a customer, he needs to be much more patient, tactful and respectful.Services: Tires, Oil change

I will NEVER use a AAA repair facility again! Talking about ripping people off. Paying for a diagnosis of a suspension issue. Then getting the work done at a different location because AAA wanted to charge an arm and a leg. Finding out that didn't repair the issue, I was highly upset. Good luck to those that use this facility.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnosticServices: Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic

I went in the have a follow up on a break repair I had done in Charlotte. This will be the 4th time total including the initial break change for the same issue, the second time bringing it to this location. The large white male reluctantly called me over to get information. When I explained to him the problem and that I had brought it here recently, he took a deep breath and shaking his head said something in reference to how long it would take as if I possibly might not get it back today. I told him you guys should be able to get it done since I've been here 4 times. He then said something about me having an attitude and if I was going to have an attitude basically refusing service. I explained dto him I did not have an attitude I was making a statement as he cut me off denying saying the phrase. Then he tried to change and say that he noticed that I became anxious or something to that effect. I told him you do not know me to say what my reactions are and that if he felt that he wouldn't be able to provide me with service because of what he perceived to let me know because I need to be safe on the road and if it would be best that I find another location then please let me know. After continuing to make rude statements to me he belted out another location although I had explained I am not from this area. I was never offered a tow, a service ride or any other assistance. I called the customer care line and was transferred 3 times to report the incident and I have now been holding for 27 minutes to also get the details of another location. I will be canceling my AAA coverage in addition to never using the car care centers again. Side note, the guy in line behind me is also returning a vehicle for an additional repair after having his care worked on here.

Triple A has a free notary service for Triple A membership. I am a premier member of Triple A for years. The customer service experience was horrible, the Notary was not in the day I went in to have my documents notarized, I made an appointment to have my documents notarized by the notary and she was rude to me, and would not notarize my documents. I went to the local Bank of America and had no problem with getting my documents notarized, with no appointment and no problems. Very unhappy with This Office. Coming from Texas and having no issues, I find the employees in South Carolina to be lazy and not helpful at all!

This location was very busy, so it is a strong indication they provide very good auto servicing. My first (and last!) visit was subpar based on the underwhelming customer service exhibited by front desk service writer, Danny Bagwell today. I arrived a few minutes before my 2:00 pm 59.99 Oil Change and Tire Rotationspecial I received in the mail, as I am not an AAA member. Both Danny and the other stocky built front desk service individual were both on the phone. As there was another customer waiting in line to speak with the stocky representative(didn't catch his name), I am standing in front of Danny, who gives an abrupt thumb jerk to motion me to go to his co-worker, first red flag. When Danny finished his phone conversation, he then asked how could he help me. I was very direct with him as they were very busy and I wanted honest feedback on how long my wait would be. To his credit, my car was ready within the time window Danny gave me. Danny even sold me on the benefits of becoming a AAA member relative to car care discounts and better service warranties.Where he, and his counterpart, lost me as a repeat customer was when I returned around 3:40 pm to check on my vehicle. Danny proceeded to admonish me by asking "Where have you been? He (stocky man) tried to call you but you didn't answer and he had to leave a message." Although Danny had my correct cell number in the system, there was no missed call or voicemail left by anyone from this Car Care location. Danny persisted, so much so, that Iasked him if was he calling me liar? He insisted I told him I was going to the nearby McAlister's to wait, I said nothing of the sort.It was at this point that I said I was not purchasing an AAA membership and this would be my last visit to this Car Care location. Danny replied ok and did review the results of my virtual inspection with me. Two items that hacked me off was first, he said I had a "bad tire" that measured 3/32 tread depth and needed to be replaced. Granted, the tire will soon need to be replaced, but until the tread depth measures 2/32, I don't consider it a bad tire. Second, he said that my engine air filter would need to be replaced at my next oil change service. I replaced the engine air filter myself three weeks ago. The air filter had black smudges on it, because replacing an engine air filter on a 2010 Toyota Avalon is not a smooth install compared to other vehicles. In closing, Danny Bagwell talked down to me and attempted to make me feel like a fool. He is a unprofessional clown that does not need to be in a customer facing role.Kevin NowellServices: Tire rotations, Oil change
