Short story. My father left me his 2000 F250 SD 7.3L when he passed a few years ago. My mom was attached to the truck so i was not able to take ownership of it and for good reason. 5 years later, i took the truck into ownership and realized it needed more work than i was prepared to do myself. I asked around at work and a few people mentioned SMA diesel . Word of mouth states was this place is the best in the upstate. I wanted my father s truck to be in the best hands. I called, got my appointment, and showed up. Instantly, Paige made me feel like i was family When Sam called, he broke down the issues line by line, quoted me a price, and the end price was right there close to what he quoted. I also had a chance to speak with Sam face to face, and he, too, made me feel like we ve known each other for years. Now, as far as my fathers truck, I m very satisfied with the job performed, and from this day forward, i will also tell people that for all your power stroke needs, SMA Diesel is where you want to be. Great family owned shop ..You show up already family. 5 stars!!!!! Thanks SMA!

Sam and the crew have went above and beyond for me since day one, even when he didn t know me. He has done major repairs on my 2019 ford dually and worked on my sons 7.3 truck. He has put in the same effort on my sons $4000 truck as he has done on my $90,000 dually. The shop takes pride in everything, no matter if it s doing an oil change or doing an engine swap. There s no way that I would ever own another diesel if this shop wasn t around. If you have a Ford powerstroke, this is the only shop that you need to know. I try to do most my work myself but I had a problem that I couldn t figure out and one I overlooked. Sam diagnosed my truck same day and found the issues right away. FYI be aware of fake parts online even if they claim OEM and sealed for a deal . Lesson learned for me. I admit I was a little surprised at the estimate when he called - I was worried never dealing with them before, and I had no idea the level of service I was about to receive. When I go pick up my truck it s clean. They pressure cleaned the engine too - it looks brand new. Sam did work that went above my problem and fixed some maintenance issues he saw while diving in. The bill came in below his estimate. If you are looking for the lowest bidder or wanting to come out cheap take your truck to Bubba down the road for repair with China parts. You are going to get what you pay for. I put Sam s price and service against any dealership. He uses only real OEM parts and if he sees something else wrong he is going to fix it. It sure is nice to call them and actually get to talk to a real person and not a prompt or hold. Paige was super nice and informative. I got the feeling they wanted my business and cared about customer satisfaction. When I picked up my truck Sam himself stopped working and spoke with me about my issues. We had a good conversation and he even gave me recommendations for a scan tool. Good folks, highly recommend!

SMA is where I always go and always will go for my 6.0. They've done my head gaskets and studs, front end rebuild, and a bunch more work to my truck, and now it's better than it's ever been.

Sam took care of all my concerns and was honest and straight up from the beginning. I enjoyed working with him, you can tell they take great pride in their work. I will continue taking my truck and highly recommend their services.

I found SMA Diesel (Sam) to be very thorough, professional, and willing to talk things through with me as I'm very new to diesels. I took my truck in for an oil leak after I put synthetic oil in my high mileage truck (182,000). They went through it and also gave me some advice on some failure prone parts that have a tendency to go out. The work was complete in a little over a week but was no rush because I didn't have any need for it at the time and even met me on a Saturday to pick it up. These guys are legit! Drove an hour to get to them....worth it for QUALITY work.

Got my first Powerstroke recently. Sam did a great job educating me about my new Powerstroke and how to take care of it. Paige is very friendly and does a great job answering my questions. Sam is a very knowledgeable mechanic and I wouldn t trust anyone else my Powerstroke. They have done all the routine maintenance on my truck and they have also installed a 60 gallon fuel tank, replaced some suspension components, intercooler piping, and a cold air intake on my 13 F250. Great people to work with.

Highly recommend SMA! They know there stuff! We took our 2004 Ford 250 SD to get repaired, retuned, and serviced. They did an excellent job and keep us updated with everything going on. And let me tell you this truck had some problems lol. They were able to fix everything and also addressed and fixed others things that was found. It was well worth the 1 hour and 45 min drive to get the truck repaired. SMA will be the only one working on this truck if ever needed.

SMA is the only place I will take my truck for repairs or maintenance. I drive 45 minutes each way and it is absolutely worth it. Reasonable price, great service, customer service is always above and beyond. I recommend these folks for all your power stroke needs. Can t say enough about SMA as a whole. Sam is super knowledgeable and very friendly. On top of A++ customer service and timely repairs made, Sam gave me some great insight as well on future preventative maintenance for my 2017 6.7L. If you re looking for a true professional in the industry that takes pride in their work, and peace of mind that no corners are cut with your vehicle than look no further. 10 out of 10 would recommend for all your Powerstroke needs!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I can confidently recommend SMA Diesel to any Powerstroke owner. To say I m meticulous and picky about the two 6.0-powered trucks we own would be an understatement. Sam and Paige are committed to excellence. Their shop came highly recommended to me by other Powerstroke owners. They take the time to make sure people and their trucks are taken care of in the best way possible. No skimping, no cutting corners, no BS. They even took time to steam clean the engine and engine bay after the repair. Absolutely premier shop that I intend to continue supporting.

I went there and asked them for a price on swapping out a turbo because I decided to upgrade my 1995 7.3 from a stock turbo to KC stage one turbo for towing purposes they couldn t give me a price they explained they needed to do diagnostics on it to see what s wrong with my current turbo they didn t listen to me nothing was wrong with my current turbo other than it s 27 years old and I wanted more power for pulling they couldn t tell me anything about price other than they will charge me to look everything over and let me know if I need a new turbo. I already bought the new turbo and it want in the box in the truck. If I wanted service like this I would have just taken it to the ford dealership. I m sorry I m not gonna just turn someone lose with a unknown budget to do needles things. See the OBS 7.3s unlike all the newer powerstrokes are easy to work on and troubleshoot. So if you have a newer style truck that needs the cab removed to get to things than you might be stuck using them. But if you have a 1994.5-2003 7.3 take it to Wesley Painter on old race track road Gaffney SC he s a powerstroke technician with 25 years experience on these motors .

Simply the best Powerstroke mechanic! Very pleased with Sam's customer service and work performed. You are not going to find a better diesel shop around! They even called a few days after picking my truck up to make sure everything was going well! Sam took the time to explain any of my concerns and answer any questions when I picked my truck up. He did not try to push any service or products and was very honest.

SAM IS AWESOME!!Another shop cost me 5 weeks of me losing money by not having my truck, and hit me for 900$ for just throwing parts at it and guessing what was wrong with it.Paige had me scheduled about four weeks out, Sam called me in about 36 hours of my truck arriving and had it diagnosed and figured out.Service: General repairs & maintenance

These guys are AWESOME! My truck broke down the day I was leaving town. I started calling diesel mechanics and everyone was backed up at least a month. I needed the truck fixed ASAP. I called Sam and he was concerned and said he would fix it as quick as he could. He called the next day and already had the truck diagnosed, he had the truck fixed two days later after parts came. I m truly grateful for him taking care of it for me! Hopefully I don t have to see a mechanic again, but if I do I won t bring it anywhere else but here.

SMA diesel did not disappoint!! I am so thankful to have such a great shop just 30 minutes up the road. I bought my first diesel (a 2006 F350) and didn't know what I had gotten myself into. I had always wanted a 05-07 powerstroke and found one with low miles. It had a few bugs in it and Sam diagnosed it and fixed it as good as new. Definitely will use SMA for all my maintenance and repairs on this truck and any future powerstrokes. Absolutely excellent service ! I drove from Charleston SC to get my bulletproof on 2006 f-350 6.0 plus transmission service & differential . Prices are fair for quality and expertise from Sam and codi, they spent over half hour explaining each process and the steps they take to complete the work and was well worth the drive. Other shops charge just as much if not more for less work most don't do the extensive cleaning of parts that SMA does as well as checking other where items.

I've waited for over a month to write a review, after picking my truck up. SMA pretty much did the works on it, from studs, to a complete motor reseal, to transmission service etc. I have to say, it has been ABSOLUTELY PERFECT since!! I've never written a review of a shop, or even recommended one before, till now. If you need any kind of service on your Powerstroke, SMA is the ONLY choice

This is the only place I will take my 7.3L now. Sam communicated well, repaired my truck (that other shops had hacked), and gave me some good advice on what to do to keep my 20 year old diesel going strong. He called me when he said he would and did the work for the prices he told me. Great service. I'll be back for some upgrades!

The detail work is complete. Their attention to each repair has given more milage to our gas per gallon and added the truck's years of driving. The crew at SMA Diesel is amazing! Sam is truly a Powerstroke genius. He was able to quickly diagnose my Super Duty and had it running like new in just a few short days. He didn't try to force a sale on me of something I didn't need but rather told me exactly what the truck needed to live a long, healthy life. After hearing nothing but incredible testimonials about the quality of his work, I realized I'd be foolish to trust it with anyone other than him! Take it from a new, first-time Powerstroke owner- there is nobody other than Sam Arrowood that you should trust your truck with. NOBODY. From the incredible customer service (and VERY fast to responsd to questions/concerns) to the quality work going on in the shop, SMA Diesel is the only place this guy will be having his Powerstroke serviced at- period.

"Powerstroke Professional's" is an understatement...Sam and his crew are top notch to a T. I had what you would call a "headache truck" for most mechanics where some joe blow put a motor in a truck and didn't know what they were doing so naturally I had problems. Lost all power to cluster, fuel pump, truck just wouldn't run. SMA not only figured out my problem but they fixed it...correctly. My 02 f350 runs like a top with no issues what so ever and I couldn't be more thankful to these guys. Whatever your problem maybe I highly recommend these guys for your powerstroke needs. They are very professional and actually take time to figure out what is wrong with your truck. They don't just get it in and out quick. They actually care about getting it fixed right! I can definitely say I have found a forever home for both of my 7.3's
