Torres Auto Repair, is the best place you can take your car. Not only is the service always top notch, but you are always treated with care, kindness, and respect. Repairs are always explained in detail, you get honest and fair pricing, and everything is always transparent. When a repair, or repairs are needed, Tracie always tells you what repair is more urgent, and what can wait for a later time. Jose, Sean, and all the rest of the mechanics, are always working hard, and doing things the right way. The peace of mind that comes with bringing your car here, is invaluable! Thank you for all that you do here!

I've lived all up and down the east coast and have had a LOT of work done on my old car over the years. This is the best mechanic I've found anywhere, hands down. They have always been able to fit me into their schedule quickly, even if I call last minute. They do great, honest work at very reasonable prices.Lastly, I've got to give a shout out to Tracy at the front desk. I'm a woman with limited mechanical knowledge who has been taken advantage of at other shops, so having her to explain things to me while making sense and not being condescending or making me feel like I'm being swindled has been extremely helpful. I 100% feel like I can trust Torres Auto with my vehicle and appreciate the kind and welcoming atmosphere they've created there.

I went there with my car and was told that it needed to be repaired for a figure around 600.I then said I was ok with that as long as it was going to be final because I had to make a second visit and paid to fix a problem that lingered after the first visit before.Once I said that I was told to take the car elsewhere and I had to.They do not allow you to say something if you have issues.On my initial visit I went there because the car had power issues.The car was fixed and cleared for a certain figure .The next day it still had the same problem ,I went back and was told I needed to fork out a substantial amount of money to fix the problem.I then did that.To me it appeared they had fixed the wrong problem on the previous visit.It is like going to a doctor when you have a headache and he treats you for a stomachache and that is what I feel happened.I was not impressed by the treatment I got from them.With regard to your response.I have made an honest comment.As for bad customer service ,it is hard to keep hiding it forever. Good luck with that. I did not beg you to fix my car after you declined,which you may have expected and I could have disappointed you by my lukewarm response.The bad review is for the last and recent treatment I got from you which was refusal to fix the car after I made reference to my previous visits.Surely,it is not how you run the race but how you finish it and the finish was not a good one.Regardless of how much I pay ..there should be always be a good service to go along with it.If I could come back after an $80 visit what are the chances that I could come again after you charged me $600(plenty times I would assume).You should not do guesswork at your job.As for you telling me that the coil could go bad.We never had that conversation.It is only coming up because it is the one that had a problem and should have been fixed on the first visit.FINALLY, I CHOOSE TO DISENGAGE.I avoided this conversation at your shop because we all know how it would play out with someone playing the victim and possibly calling the cops.

Best shop in the Charleston, James Island, Johns Island area! Fast, Reliable and most of all HONEST. Took my SUV in for a rear seal replacement and job was done in a day and charged 1/2 price compared to the local shop on JI. This is my go to place!

I loved using this place while I was in charleston, the receptionist is so sweet, and they take time to explain stuff and let you know what is the top priority things to get fixed on your vehicle at a good price.

Torres Auto Repair was so responsive to my need to have headlamps installed today after a mobile mechanic scheduled to do the install failed to show. not only was the work done within the 2 hour time frame quoted, but the price was less than quoted by 2 other local mechanics. The young woman answering the phone and managing the front office was so kind. Will definitely call them for any further mechanic issues

11/14/2023The Mechanics and staff are absolutely honest and truthful, something not often experienced these days.You leave *KNOWING* your vehicle was serviced well!!!!Our Ridgeline had not been accurately overhauled since we bought it at the end of 2009.

They do a great job & I feel like they are honest & are considerate of peoples budgets. I like that they will break down what is wrong & tell me how they will fix it. If there is an issue while they are working on car, they let me know. Very friendly & personable.

I never post reviews, but I was blown away by their fast/reliable service, reasonable pricing, and constant communication. They replaced a worn out wheel bearing without any issues. As Torres Auto Repair LLC was recommended to me, I'll definitely recommend them going forward. Don't be deterred by the long drive over to them. Completely worth it!

Short story, avoid! Torres installed my clutch incorrectly, wouldn't return phone calls, and refused to reimburse me for the replacement parts.In May 2018 I had Torres install a new clutch in my Nissan 370Z. I don't drive the car very much and put 800 miles on it since May 2019, when the clutch started to make whirring and creaking noises. I don't drive the car hard at all and babied it for the first 500 mile break in period. So I took the car back to them and they referred me to a local transmission shop to take the clutch back out and see what the problem was. The attached pictures are of the pressure plate, clutch disk, and flywheel which were all scored on one side because the clutch was rubbing even when the pedal was pushed in.I contacted the owner of the company I bought the clutch from and sent him back the parts because they were still under warranty. He told me the clutch disk was installed backwards by Torres which caused it to rub the pressure plate and flywheel unevenly and heat up to the point that it damaged both. He replaced the clutch disk for free, was able to machine the flywheel for $50, and had me purchase a new pressure plate for $250.After that I contacted Torres to tell them what the owner said, and they told me the clutch disk only goes in one way (not true) and that it was caused by a machining error at the factory. Then they completely dodged my calls and didn't respond to any emails with the attached pictures I have here.The owner of the clutch company only works on 370Z's and only makes parts for this car. He has over 30 years of experience working with them. So do I believe the owner, who answered every email and call within a half hour and was completely helpful through the entire process? Or do I believe Torres who acted completely shady, wouldn't return calls or emails, and refused to pay for just the $300 I asked for to compensate me for the parts and not even the labor?Now I'm stuck with just eating the costs of the initial installation, clutch, new clutch, and new installation. I will absolutely never take my car here again, and make sure no one I know in South Carolina, let alone Charleston, to ever use Torres.Response to Torres:Every time I called it was multiple times and you never once answered an email I sent. So there was no official correspondence between us.I am aware of the start year of my model car. Before that came the 350Z. The owner of the clutch company has been working on the Z line of cars back since they were Datsun. If he didn't stand by his parts he would have made me purchase an entire new kit. Instead he gave me the clutch disk for free and had the flywheel fixed from your damage in one business day. Further, you have no idea how much I spent on that clutch. It was more expensive than an OEM clutch from Nissan. I did my research, nearly every Z owner looking to increase performance for their car uses this company. They also make more than clutch parts which you should have seen if you actually tried to contact the owner like you said. Strange how he answered me immediately for everything but never replied to you. He included pictures he took when he received the parts showing more detailed damage and explaining exactly how it happened as well. Where with you, you're just trying to write it off like a bought a cheap kit from someone's garage.And really? The unbiased opinion from the shop YOU referred me to? After they were aware of everything that happened with the clutch? Of course they're going to back you. If I just wanted money to extort from you I would have demanded that you pay for the initial clutch, your install, the replacement parts, and the reinstall. I never wanted that though. I just wanted the $300 and would move on with it. Clearly you don't stand by your work by your immature post saying I destroyed my clutch, found the cheapest replacement, etc.This is the last you will be hearing from me until a complaint is filed with the BBB.

The people at Torres are the best. Very fair, straightforward, and honest. Tracey handles all the front end with customers and is an excellent communicator and so patient with questions and explaining everything. I was recommended this place by a friend and am so grateful. I had 2 vehicles serviced by them this month and I know for a fact it would've cost more somewhere else, and taken longer. They made everything so much less stressful from start to finish. I called Torres in my way home from work about 30 minutes before they closed due to having an air leak on my back right tire. Not only did they diagnose that it wasn t a hole that was the issue, but a seal problem, but they stayed late and had it done/resealed within 25 minutes of drop off. Not to mention how unreal cheap it was. I m guessing it would of cost 3-4x at a tire repair shop and would of taken all day to get the car back. Service is great

My favorite place!! They always take good care of me and fix my vehicles in a timely and inexpensive manner. I never worry about going to them! I KNOW I m in good hands and I ll be driving away in a well working vehicle as quick as can be. Everyone that works here is so knowledgeable. You walk in and ask Tracy and she will know what is wrong with your vehicle, and what needs to be done with it. She is also knowledgeable about warranties and what might be covered when something goes wrong. Her kindness is unmatched, I have sat many a day where I have seen a customer try and pull one over on her or blame them for something, accuse them of things, be angry, rude, unkind, and even nasty, and Tracy just kindly and respectfully tells them how it is and never stoops to their level. Jose is so kind and honest, and he will not tolerate anyone trying to say his wife said something he knows she would not say, or promise something she would not promise. They are a team and they work seamlessly together. Their employees are also honest and trustworthy, no matter who you deal with you are treated with respect, something that doesn t happen very often in a mechanic shop. If you want to be treated well and have your vehicle well cared for this is the place to go, hands down.

I was told by another mechanic that I needed some expensive repairs. Torres checked everything out for me and told me that I had plenty of life left in my brake pads and rotors. My oil change was inexpensive and they even notified me of a bulletin on my vehicle that I was unaware of. Thanks for your help!

Great service! Tracey at the front is super helpful and friendly. I was expecting to have to leave my car for a couple days, but they stayed a little past their normal closing time to get my car finished. Very much appreciated. Everything is fixed and working perfectly. They also took pictures of my tire tread to show me how bad of shape they were in (even though they don t do tires) I had no idea and got them replaced immediately. Recommend by a friend. Was a small garage and got some corvettes working out there, which is pretty cool. The lobby is worn out a little bit but quite comfortable. The lady at the front desk was nice polite and professional. Got my oil changed and found the problem with my rear axle however they wouldn t fix it since my car is a awd. They put the remaining oil in my trunk but didn t fasten the cap, and left about an ounce in my trunk.

Wonderful service! Very friendly, honest, and helpful. We were on vacation in Charleston and our car was giving us problems. They were the only shop around that made sure to get us in right away secondary to us leaving in 2 days. The staff was amazingly friendly and honest. Would highly recommend!

Honest and reliable service!! Got my timing belt replaced and it was a great experience dealing with Tracy. No BS. No up sell. Fair price. You know that they are honest when I am ready to pay $$ for a coolant and PS fluid change and they tell me there is no need. I will be coming back for sure!!

I called last Wednesday 7/27/2022 to make an appointment for my 2017 F150. I spoke to Tracey and explained that I have a hole in my muffler and wished to have it repaired. She made an appointment for 8/2/2022 @ 8am. She stated that it should only take a day if they have the parts and if they do not then it may take 2 days. When I arrived this morning to drop off my vehicle I was very surprised when the man taking my information told me very abruptly "we do not do exhaust work". I was confused since I had told Tracey last week what my problem was. He said that he could look at it if I wanted but could not repair it. I asked why would I pay for someone to tell me what I already knew. I also had shown him a picture of the hole from when I crawled under the truck last week. He seemed very agitated and threw my keys back across the counter. I would be VERY hesitant using this shop since they make appointments for work they do not even do and then treat someone with that disrespect.Update: Please note in my review I never asked for welding. I even stated that obtaining parts could make it a two day repair. If I was expecting welding why would I show up? Again even more reason to be VERY skeptical of this shop.Service: Exhaust
