Wow! Came in for a pre purchase inspection on a vehicle and couldn't ask for a more helpful crew.Michael in the service department was incredibly informative, answering any questions on the vehicle and making sure the inspection was a thorough as possible.Dawn at the desk was an excellent help as well with unmatched customer service.I absolutely will be returning.

Why haven t I gone here before I passed by at regularly? Today I went there is a new customer to get a little bit of work done on my car. I found pricing to be very reasonable and customer service was excellent. I was greeted by Melanie who is quite busy due to an earlier outage and she was very patient with me and the other customers waiting to get their cars. I could tell that she s a pro and she does a great job and I m definitely coming back next week with another car thank you Pep Boys and most of all thank you Melanie.!

Had four new tires installed a week ago. Hours later after leaving, I get a flashing TPMS sensor light. Brought the vehicle back to the location only to be charges $20 just from them to attempt reset. I regret giving them my business.

I really love this shop. The service manager,Dawn, was so very helpful with all of my concerns. Even as a walk in customer my wait was not long at all. I got 4 new tires and alignment on my 2022 Hyundai KONA. I had a concern when I went to leave and upon going back inside the technician,Matthew, stopped what he was doing and came out to check on my concern. Everything was amazing at this shop. I will DEFINITELY return!!

I was incredibly disappointed by my maintenance experience here. I went in for a tire rotation, oil change, and to get a tire replaced since I had a nail in it. I knew that my tires were old, but no one mentioned that my other three tires needed to be replaced. I left for a work trip two days later and all three tires lost pressure. I had to replace my tires immediately (the tread was dangerously low and one of the tires dropped to 10 psi in the span of 5 minutes). I ended up having to go back home for safety reasons and due to the amount of time spent getting my tires replaced. This experience cost me a lot of extra time and money, put me in a very dangerous situation, and resulted in me never making it to my end destination for work. I would definitely think twice about bringing your car here.The only positive was that a staffer was kind enough to mention that the website has coupons for many of their services. I appreciated him mentioning that because I would have missed the coupons.EDIT: I got a call regarding my experience and I appreciated the conversation. It sounds like improvements are being worked on.

Had a nail puncture my tire and needed it repaired tried 2 different places that gave me 2 hours or longer wait times. Came to pep boys and they had me in and out in about 30 minutes. The women working the service desk were amazing and kind. Thank you pep boys for the help. If I am ever in the area again with need of help I will be back.

The service here was horrible. I dropped off my vehicle on 08Jan at 1:30pm with the work estimated at 2.5/3 hours. Came back at 6:30pm the same day, with the work not being completed. I told the store personnel that I would have to leave my truck here and pick it up in the morning. There was adverse weather the next day and they shop was understandably, closed. When I came in the day after the inclement weather to pick up my truck 10Jan at 10:30 am, the work had STILL not been completed. Other vehicles of customers who had gotten there the same morning had their vehicles in the stall ahead of mine. I have been in the store over an hour and a half and the work has STILL NOT BEEN COMPLETED. I am not one to complain for small stuff, but the service here was horrible to say the least. Don't bring your vehicle here. Or if you do; make sure you can drop it off and spare your car for at least a day, call and get hourly updates on our vehicle, and make sure the work can be done by personnel trained and efficient on the task required.

I went to get 4 new tires put on in August. They said that there was a buy 2 get 2 free deal. After they did it and I paid I checked the receipt and found that I was incorrectly charged for all 4 tires. I immediately called back and they said that they could not do anything to fix it and that I needed to call corporate.I called corporate once I got back from my trip about a week later and explained the issue. They gave me a case number and said they would call me back. I hadn t received a call in 2 weeks so I called back and they said it was still under investigation. 3 more weeks passed (total of 6 weeks since I was over charged) and they said that someone would contact me to have it refunded. A couple weeks later a corporate manager called me and said that the store would contact me and send me the refund.After not hearing from the store for over a month I called and spoke to the store manager who said he would have the refund send me my address in a couple weeks and that he would mail it at the end of the week.3 weeks passed and I never received anything. I called again and was told the old store manager was no longer with the company and that the NEW store manager would send me a refund. After 3 week I never got it so I called back and the person at the store said the new store manager got Covid and couldn t send it out. The new store manager called me apologized and said that she would have it send. That was about 3 weeks ago. This incident happened in August and I am still without the money I was overcharged. At this point I think the entire plan is to just give me the run around hoping that I ll let the money go. I m leaving this review in hopes that someone will be able to get me the refund. My case number is 113657.I m also curious at this point if there will be any additional considerations made because I have been without my $160 for 6 months now which in my opinion is completely unreasonable considering that I ve done as I was instructed the entire time.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IN THIS PLACE. I bought 4 tires from them and had them installed, several months later the tires started shaking badly from being out of balance, I understand that sometimes that can happen and isnt a big deal, so i called up amd made an appointment to have them balance my tires and even said i didn't mind paying for the service i just wanted my stuff to be done right. they told me it would be about an hour, I sat around and waited for 3 hours before they finally told me that they couldn't perform the service because they didn't have any wheel weights, total joke and the place is a dump

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!Brian McCray is the manager and absolutely unprofessional. I originally bought 4 brand new tires on 10.04.2023. My tire went flat because a nail was in it on 11.10.2023 and when I attempted to change it the stud cracked. Toyota has video of the inspection showing the other studs were stripped because they were over torqued.I walk into Pep Boys on 11.11.2023 and spoke with Brian McCray who told me I d have to call corporate because how can you prove it was our fault . Like look man it s been a month, this is on you guys not me. I just gave you $800 a month prior but who cares right?Brian then says it ll be $58 to change the tire as if I want him or his technicians touching my car. I go to the store on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston and show the manager Chris the paperwork Toyota gave me and he actually read it unlike Brian.The store in North Charleston is assisting me with a full refund and replaced my tire for free.I have bought tires from Pep Boys since I was 21 years old and I am 33. The way Brian acted Pep Boys seriously almost lost a customer. Do not go to this West Ashley store DODGE IT LIKE THE PLAGUE.

The front staff "Dawn" is outstanding! She made my experience better. There were computer issues which prevented me from paying, causing stress on staff members, which I think should be addressed by the company. This is a busy store and malfunctioning computers only add stress to their work environment, which is unfair. I couldn't leave a five-star review because the technician left glue all over my new tires which is unacceptable.

The front desk attendant was unwelcoming and rude from the second I got on the phone to the second I walked out. I wasn t even able to get serviced, which wasn t an issue, until I caught some condescending attitude about why not. I guess some people just want you to know how miserable they are. She was rude to a customer who walked in to see if they had any merchandise for no reason, and was condescending to the customer in front of me buying a tire as well. Just go to Gerald s.

Dawn at this location was so excellent! I was in a hurry to get 4 new tires on my son s jeep. She got the tires from another location and had them put on in a day. Dawn went out of her way to provide excellent customer service!

No stars! Highly disappointed in the outcome of my repairs. Came in for brake inspection (free service) I knew I needed work done whether it was the rotors or my brakes/pads they gave me a quote telling me it wasn t what I thought needed to be repaired and have a decent quote, I agreed to let them fix the problem they came up with, they came back 10 minutes later saying they made a mistake and that it was in fact what I expected it to be in the first place and now an additional $400+ got added to the original quote. They said because they made the mistake that they d give me a discount, the attempted to upsell 2 tires to me (I have a specific place I go for tires) I finally got a quote that was at least close to what they originally gave me out of it being their mess up . Hrs later it s time for pick up, I drive off with more issues than I brought the car with. I u-turned and returned to the shop in a matter of minutes, 2guys came to check out the new issue I noticed and told me that is an additional issue that came about from the first repair. My question is why if you knew that would be next wouldn t you recommend it instead of the 2 tires that weren t as important as this new issue?? I wasted 2 trips on Uber thinking my problems were resolved but now I have a whole new heap of problems, they didn t even try to help me get another appt made for the new issue, which also made me look at them differently thanks a lot Pep boys. YOU ARE THE WORST!

I needed new tires and spoke with Dawn at Pepboys on Savannah many times. She and her associates went above and beyond to help. I went from driving on a rim to brand new tires(and a complimentary alignment) within 24 hours. I would certainly recommend these folks to anyone who truly cares for their vehicle. I will certainly be back for routine maintenance.

While on our anniversary trip to Charleston, SC my truck tire found a screw on the road so i went to Pep Boys in Savannah Highway to have it repaired.When i learned the tire was too old to repair and faced an expensive tire replacement the man at the sales counter helped us with a far less expensive solution. Both he and the man who actually did the work were very kind and helpful.These days it seems rare that someone will take the extra step to help and we are thoroughly grateful for the effort of both the sales associate and the tire man.A Big Thank You!

If you value your time, do NOT go to Pep Boys on Savannah Hwy in Charleston. Three days ago (Thurs) I made an appointment for brake work to be done today (Sun.) at 9:00am. After arriving, the lady said she didn't have a mechanic to do the work. I drove an hour to get there. The store has my phone #, so they should have texted me before I drove in this morning and told me that the work could not be done. Real rating should be zero stars.

Staff is nice but supply chain is slow. Oil change appointment at 10:30 AM and I was going to wait with the car. Got a text saying it would be ready at 5. Asked the front desk and they said about 30 min. 2 1/2 hours later the oil filter arrived from a local parts store. I offered to walk to the nearest store and pick it up. What's the point of getting an appointment for simple maintenance if you still have to wait for hours. Maybe they should bring their in house parts store back.

Terrible customer service! Called for a quote on a battery to be installed and was given a price. Drove there and expecting the same price I was quoted 30 minutes prior. When we arrived the quotes was approximately $130 more. The individual behind the counter was very rude and couldn t have cared less, while she was chewing her gum. We ll never go back. I ve used this location before and had a good customer experience. Gone down hill.

Good prices on tires and alignments. My car drives straight and tires are smooth at 75 miles an hour. No figures prints from the mechancial work on steering wheel or doors. Friendly assoicates. I will back for oil changes.

This was a very poor experience. Considering I've used this pep boys for 3 + yrs now, I've never left a review until now. Management needs to step in on this one. I've spent the better of $8000 at this establishment and this is by far the worst. Bring back Sarah. Having to be on hold twice for over 10mins is never good and then to be lied to is unacceptable. I'm unfortunately going to have to seek another mechanic place!!

Updates Feb 2/2024As Dawn promised, she refunded the diagnostic fees and gave me a free oil change. The crew at the front dest was extremely nice and the store is brighter and the waiting room is nice and pleasant with coffee machine. I have update the star rating to 5. Great job, Dawn and thank you for everything!Updates Jan/11/2024:Dawn the new store manager called and wanted to have a fresh start. She told me that the previous manager has been let go, there is a new lady at the front desk, the store has a much brighter look, and most importantly, she is very commited to offer a better customer experience for anyone who comes to the store.In addition, she offered me a refund on the diagnostics cost and one free oil change on any vehicle of my choice.Two things that was important to me, (1)she wanted to hear me out, (2) she was eager to make amends on what went wrong.Her being very personable and down to earth was a cherry on top.After the conversation, I decided to upgrade the rating from 1 to 3. I will update my post again after the appointment to decide if I recommend Pep Boys.-Original Post-Not only Pep Boys employees lacking empathy, but also they demonstrated rude customer services by disrespectfully responding to our questions from the very first conversation, to finally hanging up the phone abruptly and unprofessionally in mid-conversation when I asked for his name.Poorly trained or uninformed representatives miscommunicated with us frequently during our brief encounter. Examples include store being closed before the advertized business hours, one person telling us to pick up the vehicle, but when I got there I was told too soon to pick up, etc. There were also miscommunications between the employees about my request on specifics of inspection and also about the exact inspection results.In addition, they couldn't find my key upon completion of service and had to look for it.Sadly lack of resolution on my end as to what's wrong with the vehicle after all the work and money I spent.I would not recommend them for your car issues.

HORRIBLE!!! I made an appointment online for 10am for a battery replacement. Arrived around 9:30, got checked in , was advised they would get me out quickly. I went into the waiting room and at 12pm I got up to inquire about an eta for completion. There was a very kind and helpful man named Caleb who I later learned is the general manager, that checked on it and informed me it would be completed soon. However I noticed my car was still in the exact same spot it was when I arrived. I went back to the waiting area, about thirty minutes later a technician took my car into the garage. I waited another 25/30 minutes and noticed my car was completed. So I then went to the front desk and informed the lady behind the counter( who informed me she was an assistant manager)Was checked out , I did mention to her when asked about the experience that it would ve been nice if there was ongoing communication if the process was going to take longer than expected. I will never return to this establishment!!

Worst place to get an oil change. Scheduled an appointment for 1 pm. Got there and was told it would be an hour and a half because there were two cars ahead of me. Ok, why let me schedule the appointment? Why not contact me? Anyways, left for 1.5 hours and came back. Waited 45 more minutes and my car was still in the lot. Asked for my keys and left. Went to Take 5 oil change - I RECCOMEND THEM. Not to be a Karen or whatever

Absolutely love this particular Pep Boys in Charleston SC on Savannah Hwy. Always polite, know who I am when I walk through the door, always just all around awesome!! They have done nothing except provide excellent service, just wanted to let everyone know how wonderful the staff is and honest!!Recently had my tire repaired for nail. Two very RUDE ENTITLED TEENAGERS WERE IN THERE SAYING DEROGATORY STATEMENTS TO STAFF. The staff was very professional in stating their lift on their truck was illegal and they won't work on the truck. I appreciate the customer service and kindness the people have here at Pep Boys! Wonderful staff!

I visited your shop yesterday and did not make myself clear to the technician about what service I needed. When I came to pick up my car I was unhappy with the service. The manager stepped up and, calmly and professionally, straightened it all out. I will remain a loyal customer.
