I love how these companies post responses to reviews.In this case they have to smear my name to save their own. LIES> I forget they have to pay for this new building. Smoke and mirrors with this company. Straight talk is valued when you are searching for answers and you won't get it with this company. They want you hard earned $$$ and that's it. Disappointed on several levels. Don't be fooled by the very new and clean building. Poor communication. Told me some story how the engine light wasn't on when they were working on it. Then when I started up it came on. LIES>>>> I felt like they could have serviced my car's issues with a greater concern for my needs and budget. On two different occasions I waited to hear back from Kris, and never did. Never been a fan of people who can't talk straight. I will not be returning my business here. There are better Euro mechanics in the greater Charleston area. I wouldn't start here.

Ottohaus is the best in the business. These guys genuinely care about their customers, they re always kind, and they make sure your car is completely taken care of. I ve been going to them for 8 years now, and I keep coming back because I have never had a single issue with them. They re quick, it s easy to get an appointment, and it s very fairly priced compared to a lot of other places! They know me and my car, and they do a great job of keeping that relationship up. I can t recommend them enough!!!

First, let me say how patient they are. They took the time to explain the problems with our cars in terms that a dumba** like me can understand, along with all my options. I appreciate that. Very reasonable on cost...not cheap but do you really want "cheap" when it comes to safety? Highly recommend!!

Here s the thing. These guys are awesome. And super kind. I m pretty sure everyone around me had the same experience. Took me a week to write a review based on my car, they could tell I was busy.

This place sets an industry standard for service and expertise. We have taken our vehicle here to be repaired and serviced multiple times and the results are fantastic every time. You get your issue repaired quickly and receive a detailed explanation of what was done and why it needed to be done so you don't have to feel oversold on anything. We needed a part ordered today and Jason was super helpful in making sure we received it quickly. We've been customers for years and plan to be years later.

They have been taking care of my Tiguan for about 7 years now. I would not take my car anywhere else. Professional, reasonable, and just an all-around nice crew. Kudos to the Ottohouse team!

Ottohaus is professional, honest, and attentive. I called in to ask for a pre-purchase inspection and not only were they able to do it within a day of notice, they even took some time out of their day to personally talk to me about it over the phone. Kris was genuine, courteous, and transparent. I wish I could be a paying customer of Ottohaus, but they would not let me. It's been a little over a year since the last time I was able to take my car to Ottohaus (I moved) and I still can't stop missing it constantly. I took my VW Beetle here after the dealership I bought it from messed up an oil change and Kris instantly became the best mechanic I've ever interacted with. He's personable, trustworthy, and direct; I don't know much about cars (and am a small person who is never taken seriously in this setting) but he explained everything I needed to know after every visit in a way I always understood and he was never condescending. He even remembered me and my various family members that came in. For years I never had to feel broke and swindled after spending way too much money at a dealership and with 80,000 miles my finicky car runs like a dream. I'm still not sure how I'll ever find another mechanic I can trust as much as Kris / Ottohaus. If you have a German car, don't waste your time with other places, go straight here.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Vehicle Inspection, Transmission replacement, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Honestly, a guy at AutoZone recommended coming here and like everyone else I went to the review section. Literally everything positive you're reading is what you're going to recieve. What I like most is the honesty up front, they don't beat around the bush and will tell you exactly how it is and what you'll need.Best pricing, efficient, master of their craft, very careful w/the vehicles, cameras everywhere if you have to leave the vehicle over night.10/10 (add a vending machine 11/10)HEADS UP: If you're allergic to cats and plan on waiting in the lobby beware of the West Ashley location. The shop cat is undefeated! (I'm not allergic but someone else might be)

Well by far one of the best European,German mechanics around in Charleston South Carolina,Had my 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman All4s worked on at Ottohaus and by far was absolutely amazed on how they fixed it,Chris by far was amazing telling me everything that was going on with my Mini, and the prices were absolutely beautiful and wasn t crying when I saw my check out bill, I am seriously going to miss this place when I move away from Charleston,but before I leave, I will be taking it in again to check out other things that recent appeared in pulley noise,so if you want a great clean 100% and great work done to your European car ,Ottohaus is best in businessService: Auto engine tuning

This place is wonderful! They have great professionalism, communication, customer service, and knowledge! I have a VW Tiguan and had my car looked at here for an issue I was having and it was a seamless process. I will be bringing my car back here for routine maintenance as well, they have my business! 10/10 would recommend!

Was visiting Charleston with my family and had a malfunction with the sunroof (would not close) and needed to depart for home the next day. Spoke to Kris in a bit of a panic and he saw me the same day and fixed the issue in under ten mins. Could not have been a nicer guy, was extremely professional and the facility is spotless. Would recommend his shop to anyone!

I highly recommend OttoHaus and Chris! We are out of state and our daughter needed her BMW X1 worked on. Not only were they accommodating, they were courteous and efficient. So glad we have them to rely upon!

Had a Pre-Purchase inspection done here with Ottohaus, only to find two findings just a day after I purchased my vehicle from Southern Motor Company on Rivers Ave. After I reached out about it, I was told to bring the vehicle by them once more in order for them to take another look at it to find the problem. After I took the vehicle to them, they couldn t find the problem and needed to Phone a VW Tech , which still didn t help. I got my car back with no help. After this, I was told that they would get back in contact with me about a quote for some possible replacement parts. Nobody at Ottohaus reached out to me for anything; every one of my conversations and followups with them I had to reach out to them. After I didn t hear back again, I called and they told me they wanted to take one more look at it to make sure that was the problem and that I would need to bring the car back again. They seem genuine and very professional, so I believe my situation may be highly unusual, but that s just what happened in my experience.

FAST, RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, CARINGAfter searching the internet for a shop to take my Mercedes I found Ottohaus. Customer service has been 100% starting with both Chris and Jason in the front office. My car was serviced and repaired quickly and at a fair price. The lobby and shop area are both spotless and modern. Chris and his team are legit the best! Hands down, no questions about it! I won't let anyone else work on my VW EOS. They are flexible with times and always keep me informed about what's going on with my car if I have to leave it with them. I'm able to drop the car off before they open and pick it up even after they close. They are the most professional and efficient team of specialists, and I'd be lost without them!! They keep me up and running! Thanks guys for taking care of me and my favorite car ever!

Excellent service all around.Kris and everyone at Ottohaus are excellent at what they do.The shop is clean, organized and very well run. Their experts helped fix an unusual issue with the instrument cluster in my 2014 650i and I couldn't be happier with the results.Will not go anywhere else from now on for both our beemers.

Excellent service. I would give 6 stars if I could. I took my vehicle in for a regular service. It took about an hour and was super easy to schedule. The waiting area is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm so happy to have found a service center that I can trust and is affordable for my vehicle. I highly recommend Ottohaus.

Kris & the guys never cease to amaze me by their professionalism, knowledge and experience! I have no problem driving 2 hours from savannah to use these guys for my Touareg hybrid and c5 Rs6. Top notch in all areas!

Hands down the best German auto shop in Charleston. If you have a German car this is the place you need to take it to for your next service or any major issue you may have. Chris and his crew did an awesome job replacing the motor in my 2011 328i. Chris waited till he found a great used motor with a 12 month transferable warranty for the replacement motor. They had my car for a couple months but we'll worth the wait. With the replacement motor installed it was Iike nothing had ever happened in the first place! Great people, killer service. Chris is always willing to answer any question you may have during a process like this. I highly recommend these guys to anyone.

You see a place with all 5 star ratings and it makes you pause and wonder if it's true so I'm sharing my experience.I took my Passat for an oil change and inspection at a different local business, and was informed the noises my car was making were belt and pulley issues. I was warned that most auto shops wouldn't do it, and that will cost a lot to fix at the dealership. When I asked their opinion on reaching out to Ottohaus first, they were unanimously in support.Needless to say, my car was fixed at Ottohaus and they were kind, quick to find an appointment, and got me on my way as soon as they got the parts. The place is cleaner than you can imagine and as far as I can tell, the pricing is fair and less than the dealership. Thanks Ottohaus! I wish I could rate them higher than 5 stars as they deserve it. Interacting with Ottohaus is the best experience with a mechanic I have ever had. They are honest, knowledgeable, well priced, friendly, and super responsive.
