I scheduled an online appointment with Griffin Automotive and Transmission because of the good reviews and supposedly trustworthy service. I have to say that Shannon was very help and seemed concerned to get the correct information about my car issues so they could be resolved. Needless to say I spent more money there then I feel I should have considering the real issue with my car was not resolved, and I ended up with a blown head gasket. I did find out this could have been repaired if it had been caught by a thorough inspected of my car, specifically the engine after an engine compression had been completed.I am not a car expert and have no desire to be, and I trusted the mechanic to treat me fairly, and he did not even slow down while dropping off the invoice after his supposed repairs, to Shannon as he moved quickly through the waiting area. I have always had the mechanic come to share with me the problems and solutions. This did not happen and the amount I paid was unfair. I had to pay two towing fees after paying Griffin s over $405 worth of car diagnostic. I very rarely give a review, and have only given one other negative review, but I feel that I am a kind person who was completely forthcoming of the needed information for the mechanic to found my find my car issues. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that is a good mechanic, but not sure why he shunned me, he totally acted uninterested in repairing my car or speaking directly to me.

Robert and his team did an amazing job fixing the issue with my transmission. They not only did so in a timely manner but pricing was really reasonable for the work done. I've heard this is the only shop in town for transmission rebuilds and now I understand why. I highly recommend Griffin transmission for anyone that wants the job done correctly and by professionals

Shannon was very helpful, answered all of my questions. I actually called another transmission shop closer to my home.... and that shop refer me to Griffin ! I wasn't disappointed either because the service turnaround time was about on par with other shops.... but the price was considerably less than quoted by the dealer and on par with other private shops. the tow company I talked to when I was trying to get my vehicle there actually raved about the quality of Griffin too so I felt very comfortable taking my SUV there. the price was fair and the car drove like a dream on the way home after service! yes I'm a real customer.... yes my 2015 Explorer feels like it's as good as new.... yes there was a 2 year unlimited milage warranty on the work..... no I'm not related to anyone that works there.... and no they didn't ask me to write this review i did it voluntarily.... yeah, that part of town felt a bit shady, but they kept my car safe in a well enclosed area..... yes I will take every transmission issue I ever have In the future to them !!!

I needed a new or rebuilt transmission for my GMC Yukon XL at a reasonable price not the dealer price. While working on my vehicle the good folks at Griffin also discovered that I needed some additional work to keep my vehicle rolling safely. They performed the work efficiently and at a reasonable price and on time. I will recommend them to anyone that needs major repair work and wants a company that will stand behind their work with a great warranty. Thanks Griffin!

Great customer service. When I was questioning the outcome, Robert explained everything to me in detail. He even took me for a drive in my car to show how everything was working. Best place to get any repair!!!

They rebuilt my the 6l50e in my truck. Shifted better than it ever did from new. Had one problem non trans related after, but they immediately addressed it without question.

Shannon was so helpful, patience and truly listened to the customer-me. Robert was understanding and very informative. They were quick with the diagnosis of my 2005 Honda pilot transmission. Best part, they were truthful of the work that needed to be done and did an exceptional job completing it. I'm so relieved to have finally found a great mechanic.

Very polite front desk staff. Never got to speak with a mechanic. .Awaiting invoice for services, receipt for services so I know exactly what was done for my records.Car seems to be running smoothly.Received the full report the following day with pictures. I m well impressed. It so nice to get a visual on what is being spoken of. The mechanics will tell you if it s urgent or something to be mindful of fixing in a few months.I will definitely be using these guys/gals again and will be referring others to Griffin Automotive.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic, Air conditioning

After COVID it's a known fact that customer service and trustworthy, competent work has become scarce. Definitely not at Griffin, they rocked it! Truck's great 2500 miles down the road. Couldn't have asked for better. Worth every penny. Thanks guys!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Speedy service. Good communication. Only giving 3 stars because I was charged almost $500 for a front driveshaft for my GM vehicle. Using the part number that Griffin gave me, I found the exact driveshaft (OEM GM Replacement - same part number and all) for around $250. I feel like I was taken advantage of.

I was a mile away from work, and my engine started misfiring, on top of that my clutch had been slipping for some time. Had a thousand things going through head so I dropped this beauty off at Griffin (less than 1/4 mile from my workplace) and they put new plugs, wires, clutch kit and clutch master cylinder. Runs like a CHAMP now, as all Tacomas should.Very professional, quick and straight to the point. They are about quality, you will not be disappointed.

Being a shop owner myself, this was a new experience being on the opposite side of a repair. My daughters car had issues while driving from our home in NJ to SC. The transmission and suspension in my car was both gone. They towed my car from my job. Performed a complete diagnostic on it and then informed me of what I needed. Gave me s time frame and completed the work on my car in that fashion. They let me know in detail what was wrong and what was needed. I was never in the dark on what was going on with my car, they did not performed any repair without first letting me know what was going on. Got my car back and it is running better than ever. I brought my car to Griffin for a 2nd opinion and I m glad I did. They rebuilt my transmission & replaced my spark plugs. They kept me informed during the process & always answered my questions. So far my car is driving great since I picked it up. A buddy s van broke down while in Springfield and left at Griffin for repair. Then 2 of his buddies drove him from St. Louis area to pick it up. While there we asked the staff for a good local place to eat and they invited the 3 of us to join them, since that day they were grilling and had Many sides . For free. REALLY like those folks and recommend this place!

Repair was to my drive train. Replaced three u-joints and the center bearing. Drive shaft was also balanced. I had them change my Transmission fluid. Repair was finished 24 hrs. ahead of schedule.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Very friendly. Receptonist outstanding. I brought my automobile to see why it was having problems backing up. Robert check the whole car even scratch s on vehicle. He told me everything wrong with it. That was outstanding, but I didn t ask for it. To rebuild the transmission he said 3500 dollar. I thank Robert and paid my $152 and thank him. The average cost to rebuild a transmission is 2000to2500 according to consumer guide. Aside from that reviews I read are mostly 5 star about this placeService: Transmission

The entire team at Griffin Automotive was top notch. They are professional and patient in explaining what your car needs. They gave a complete report of all deficiencies on my car and allowed me to decide what wanted to have repaired. The car ran perfectly after the repairs. I highly recommend. Got my transmission rebuilt for over 3,000$ a year later I started having transmission problems again came back to them 3 times and they gave me the run around every time even sent me to two other company s for diagnoses paying two separate fee s just to tell me the same thing then when I came back with paperwork explaining the issue they still did nothing sent me out and the transmission error code came back on today (5 days later) they told me I need to spend another 3,000$ to fix the issue I heard they did good work is why I went to them I am not satisfied with there work and I would not recommend no one with a foreign car get work done with this company they are the only company ever touch my transmission and now it looks like I have even more money to spend after spending over 3 thousand dollars with these peopleI should not be having any transmission problems after a recent rebuild anything that was going on with in my transmission they should of saw during the rebuild this was horrible service I am highly disappointed in them

They are the best in times when auto repairs are the most stressful they can be.They got me in as soon as they could.Rebuilt my transmission.Mia told me 1 week to 2 weeks.They got me out in 10 days.Kept me informed every step. ZERO B.S.AND got me right back in and out in an hour for a minor adjustment afterwards!I want to rent a billboard that says " Don't go anywhere else."They are proud of their reviews, and I doubt will ever compromise that reputation.It is expensive wherever you go, but you can trust Griffin.Service: Transmission
