I give cravens no stars. Apparently when someone has a medical emergency its no big deal to them. I asked the male on the phone where I could access the rules which they regulate on. It turns out he's just as clueless as he sounds. I assume his towing company is the cheapest which is why certain businesses hire him and then he just price gouges every chance he gets. The people I had interactions with were mean, rude, disrespectful, and overall unprofessional. Ive never heard of a towing company with such limited hours. It wasn't even the fact of the outrageous $196 fee. But that my car was unavailable for the entire weekend which led to me buying $200 dollars worth of users, calling out for work, having to borrow a temporary key to my apartment and buying a new apron for my waitressing job. My entire day was single handily ruined by an unclear sign with could have simply been resolved in a parking ticket or some other method. Instead I was treated disrespectfully and had to give my hard earned money to a bunch of sleaze balls how probably are miserable with their own life. #QuintonHasAMicroPenis

On August 11, 2016, I was sitting in my car in the Days Inn parking lot, historic district of Charleston. I had been there for two minutes. All of a sudden my car started beeping wildly. I looked up, and a tow truck from Craven's Towing, driven by Quinton, backed into my car and booted it. I was blowing my horn the entire time, to no avail. I insisted he come into the hotel with me and talk with the front manager. He was very rude, and said if I didn't get a permit on my dash quickly, he would tow the car. When I called the tow company and spoke with the manager, he would not give his name, and was also very belligerent. I told him that Quinton had scratched the undercarriage of my car in the booting process, and he hung up on me. After reading reviews here, it is obvious they are a very disreputable company. I am surprised Days Inn would hire such people.

Let me start by saying we have retained the Charleston SC law firm of Oberman and Oberman to bring a lawsuit against Cravens Tow the week of Oct. 24, 2016. So, we pulled into the Days Inn in downtown Charleston on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2PM to wait to meet friends who were planning on staying there for the night. We left our car for only 15 minutes there in the Days Inn parking lot to get our daughter an ice cream, returned, and our car was gone. We found out from the manager at the Days Inn that they have an "overly aggressive" towing policy and Cravens Towing took our car. Days Inn admitted that Cravens keeps an employee in the parking lot and when someone leaves their car, even for only a minute or two, without a Days Inn pass, the car is towed by Cravens Towing. As we were walking out of the parking lot, a Cravens tow truck pulled in. I went up to the driver of the Cravens Tow truck and told him that his company had towed our car, that we were from Tennessee and we had only left the car for 15 minutes. The driver of the Cravens tow truck said, "yep, and you won't get your f'ing car until Monday as we don't return cars over the weekend. I said to driver, I cannot believe how your company treats people to which the Cravens tow truck driver said to me, "do you want me to F you up? do you?" Now, I am 53 years old,Cravens tow truck driver was 25-28 years old, 2-3 inches taller than me and about 20 pounds heavier. I immediately called the Charleston police. The police interviewed me and interviewed the Cravens tow truck driver. The Charleston police said to me, "sir, the Cravens tow truck driver is stating that you threatened him, not the other way around." I said to the two Charleston police officers, "does it honestly look like a 53 year old man would threaten a man half his age who is twice my size who is a Tow Truck driver??" The Charleston police stated that they could not do a thing. This gets worse. I take a medication that is very rare for a extreme blood disorder that I remembered I left in our car that was towed. I called Cravens Towing Company, told them that I had left my heart medication in the car and needed access to get my medication. The man who answered at Cravens Towing said, "we don't give a F if you drop dead with a heart attack, you can't go near your car until Monday." (today is Saturday). We were able to contact a Charleston law firm, Obermanand Oberman, who is bringing a lawsuit the week of October 24 against Cravens Towing for assault, endangerment to a human being, harassment, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other charges. We called back the Charleston police to let them know that Cravens Tow would not allow me to get my heart medication out of our car. The Charleston police officer who came out to the scene earlier, came back out to meet with us a second time. The Charleston officer said, "we encourage you to follow through with your lawsuit, this towing company is a huge problem for us and what they did to you today is beyond any human decency and against the law." The Charleston police department went on to say, every single call we received today in downtown Charleston was due to a complaint brought against Cravens Trucking. When I called Cravens Trucking back and told them that this was their final chance to resolve this, that the Charleston police had come back out to meet with myself and my wife and daughter and to allow me to get my heart medication, pay the towing fee and be done with them, the employee of Cravens Trucking said to me over the phone, "go F yourself and hung up". I have never seen anything like I witnessed today by Cravens Trucking in Charleston SC. I was so worried that the Cravens Tow Truck driver was going to either pull a gun or other weapon on me that I told my wife and daughter to run over to the market area where their were alot of people and wait for me as the Cravens Tow Truck driver got out of his truck and proceeded to follow me down the blocks of Meeting Street in Charleston. Our lawyers, Oberman will be suing them this week, Oct. 24.

The absolute worst business and attitude in town. I parked my car in one of their customer's parking lots and while patronizing that business, I was towed. When I noticed and inquired about it, they told me in no uncertain terms that a) I would pay the fine to get my car back, and b) there was no possible way they were wrong. Even after providing facts about my visit, where I was in the building, etc...they still arrogantly stated that I would not get my car back unless I paid the fine of $166! I pursued with the business owner, who stepped in and offered to pay the fine. The kicker is that when they offered, Craven's told them they could not accept payment by phone so they needed to figure something else out. Needless to say, that business told me they would be "reassessing their relationship with Craven's" and they were very sorry for my inconvenience. Helpful hint...when your customer calls to reconcile a misunderstanding, your response should be to comp the transaction and apologize for any inconvenience. You should NOT insist that they pay and then put them thru the rigors of figuring out how to reconcile the situation. Beware of these duplicitous bullies.

This a dishonest, unethical, predatory towing company which intentionally entraps motorists in the business and tourist area where most are unfamiliar with parking rules and legality of tow truck operators. I am $100.00 poorer, buy much wiser, as a victim of Craven's Towing Service. They have learned how to scam visitors who will pay the bribe to prevent losing their car to the tow, and being left on foot in a strange city. I was yesterday's victim in the unload alley behind the Apple Store. Go to City Search to hear my details, and a long list of reports on these crooks at Craven's Towing!

Without a doubt the most RUDE employees and most DISHONEST business I have ever encountered. I realize most people aren't going to write a great review because they're mad about getting towed, but that's not my reason. They charged me an extra day's worth of my car being in their lot because they told me on the phone that i couldn't come to pick up my car when i called at 4:30 the previous day because they were closed(closing hour is at 5). They didn't tell me that it was a per diem charge, so essentially they told me not to pick up my car which caused me to pay an extra $100 dollars (which is devastating for a broke student like me). When I made the grave mistake of trying to calmly reason with with the man at the front office I could see him struggling to make sense of my logic and linear thought. I would like to think for a brief moment in time he debated whether what he was doing was stealing or not. But, unfortunately the devil on his shoulder won out and he demanded that I pay or not get my car back. DO NOT use this service if you can avoid it! A company this dishonest does not deserve your hard earned money. That is all

These people are unethical, rude, dishonest gold diggers! It takes no degree of intelligence to see that a car full of hanging clothes with a man who is making consecutive trips to load luggage depicts someone who has actually been using the hotel where the car is parked. The parking pass had dutifully been placed on the dash for the whole week, yet 30 minutes before check-out, our car magically disappears. Turns out, my husband moved the pass while prepping the car to leave, inadvertently forgetting to place it back upon the dash. I fail to see how this was merely coincidental. How does a business with such questionable integrity still have a license to operate in the City of Charleston?

If I could give no stars I would.I'm an emergency heating and air conditioning service provider.During 10 minutes spent diagnosing an elderly ladies ac problem my service van was towed by this company while riding through the property. The van was parked in front of the customers home in which I was working, with the owners permission, not in a non parking zone, blocking anyones driveway, car or home. There was no discretion in this tow rather than the driver apparently seeing an opportunity to make a quick $160.00 for him or this company. All while the elderly waits until we could have another van arrive and work on her ac while this mess was sorted out.

I dealt with probably the most cold hearted person this morning from this company. He sits in the lot off George Street. This company runs a predatory towing strategy which in most states is illegal. They wait for you to illegally park and even if you leave your car running with someone inside to move it on a non clearly marked spot, they will tow you. No explanation or excuse will get you out of it. To ruin someones morning just for leaving there vehicle running to grab a coffee in less than 30 seconds without giving a warning simply saying, "Hey sir that spot is private" is just messed up. To whoever needs a towing company avoid this one at all costs all they want is your money and to make commission. Im truly disappointed thank you Craven's for taking money from a young adult who serves your country for simply grabbing a coffee.

Predatory and unethical, sums up this business. It's an absolute disgrace to Charleston that a business with this complete lack of integrity is allowed to operate in the city. When I was there a driver actually walked into the office drinking a beer! Why are they not shut down? Their scam has been going on in Charleston for many many years, it's a well known "charleston fact" that they troll for cars on the overly crowded streets and in the parking garages. It's basically a feeding frenzy for these yahoos that run the place. Have you ever spoken to one of them in person or on the phone? It's like talking to a TV character portraying a backwoods redneck, illiterate, rude, hostile...oh, and drunk. I'm looking forward to the day when they are shut down.

These people are dishonest crooks. I got my car towed and called the office at 5:09 pm and was told that they were already closed and that I had to pick it up the next day. I pick it up the next day and the sign out front says they are open from 8am-6pm. I confront the front desk guy about it and he tells me "Oh, that sign needs to be changed" and then proceeds to charge me an overnight fee. I complain and argue and he doesn't respond or even look me in the eyes. I feel sorry for you if you ever have the displeasure to get your car towed from these thieves.

Their unethical business practices have landed them a meeting with the city's legal department this week. I was quoted one price and charged another. True scam artists. I'm unsure how someone can know they provide for their children with dirty money.

There is zero respect given at this place. The owner/ manager continuously hangs up on people. The owner/manager has not been present for 3 days after towing.

Dishonest, seedy.....trolling for cars in the middle of the night.....claimed to tow my car because of expired tags....tow driver was fully aware of the State Of SC law which allows a 30 day grace period due to back up at the DMV....so desperate for the $220 tow fee....greedy and desperate and mouthy.....I was advised by the police dept to follow through in a civil court......I will file papers Monday morning......
