Absolutely wonderful experience, from start to finish. Shawn was super responsive, kind, prompt and understanding. He and his team took a great care of our vehicle, dealt with the insurance company and fixed my car fast, despite the holidays and shipping delays.

Great experience! The staff were efficient and friendly. After I dropped off my car, they assessed the damages, took pictures, and sent them to me to explain the problem. When repairs were made, after pictures were taken and everything looks great and car is running like new. The repairs were done in a matter of hours and at a great price! Thank you Alpha!

Alpha transmission did such an awesome job fixing a problem I thought was unfixable! I came to them for a second opinion, and not only did they find the actual problem unlike the first place, they charged a fair price (3x less than what the first place tried to charge) and Sean was so communicative and understanding. Thank you for the honesty and integrity!!

Terrible service and customer service, I paid a thousand dollars for labor and nothing they did to my car was good, I had the clutch changed and when I put it together they left all the weight of the transmission on the engine, the car sounded like a tractor ( another mechanic solved it because according to them it was "normal"), I had the exhausts changed and the exhaust at low revs vibrated and stuck to the chassis. The solution they gave me was to take it to another exhaust shop and finally they are not careful with your car they scratched some wheels that I had just bought, explaining to me that they were already like this when they arrived

I went to Alpha transmission to have a bearing replaced. After examination they said the bearing was fine and didn't need replacing. They could have replaced the bearing but were honest enough to send me on my way. I will highly recommend Alpha for any transmission work.

Only reason I m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they technically fixed what I asked them to. However, I don t know why this place has such great reviews from start to finish my experience was terrible. I brought in my car because it was jerking while changing gears, an auto shop told me it was the transmission and to take it to a transition place. I came here because of the glowing reviews. I told them what had been happening and that the auto shop had sent me to let them check it out. They called back telling me there were some leaks that needed to be repairs and charged $1,500. They called me at 3 pm on the day they said it d be ready, knowing I didn t have a car and was going to have to find a ride, and sort of demanded I pick the car up that day because the lot was full when I suggested that I might not be able to make it over there before they closed. I was able to get over the next morning and the whole staff was out to lunch so after insisting I come and pick it up no one was there when I did and we had to wait around until the staff came back. I m not upset that they were out to lunch necessarily, but it was something in a series of events I d like to add.When we picked up the car the guy said he drove the vehicle and everything was all good. Driving home I realized that the car was still doing the exact same thing I brought it in because of. I called back and they were very defensive claiming to have had no idea about the car driving poorly and saying defensively well we fixed what you asked us to, we don t know anything about how the car drives. after saying they drove it I ended up finding out through an express oil change that they fixed the leaks but neglected to refill the transmission fluid that had been leaking out so had I not figured this out I would have ruined my transmission anyway due to driving around with no fluid. Call me crazy but I think it s common sense to refill something that s been leaking but they did do what I asked, I suppose .

Scott s awesome. Honest and fair priced. Went to multiple places for quotes and went with them as they were the only ones who didn t try to tag a bunch of stuff i didn t need onto the charge. they got my truck fixed in a day and it s running great. Appreciate it!

Very misleading an a complete rip offHe promised over the phone that he could relearn my 6l80 for my truck since the transmission was a donor and in detail I took him step by step what happened on hand. Very busy spot has lots of business.. Scott is very honest and professional he goes above and beyond. I traveled from jersey and theClutch and fly wheel went on my car... due to the specific car i had parts were unfortunately expensive. Scott was very fair with the labor prices and me being able to source my own parts. He was very flexible allowing my car to be at the shop while i order the parts and he had the work done in 2 days which was great after not having the car for a week. So impressed with the prompt service. I was really in a bind, and traveled an hour and a half to get my clutch replaced. Scott took awesome care of us, and I would definitely recommend to anyone in need of repairs. Trustworthy, and reasonably priced.

I was down in Charlesto/folly Beach gigging when my transmissions throwout bearing decided to die. I contacted Scott and Alpha Transmission after reading these reviews and asking some local guys about shops in town. I heard nothing but great things about this business and the owner.I contacted him via email and he replied quickly. I mentioned that I needed to get back home to western NC Monday if possible. This was late on a Friday afternoon. I had my insurance company tow the car to his shop saturday and I got a rental.He installed a new clutch kit That's following Monday and had me ready to head out of town by 4 pm that day. I really appreciate him knowing I was in a bind and from out of town. His price was competitive for the quick repair and quality job. I highly, highly recommend Scott and his Shop to anyone in that part of SC!As a side note, the clutch shifts better than it did when it was new, 150,000 miles ago.

I just picked up my Hummer H3 from Alpha. They rebuilt my transmission in a timely manner. I highly recommend this shop! These guys are not out to rip your head off on repair cost. They gave me a fair deal (about $200 less than competitors, and about $1800 less than a dealer!) Thanks again Alpha.PSI choose Alpha based on the reviews, and I am happy to add this positive experience.

Since I moved to Charleston, less than 2 months ago, I wanted to buy a used car. Mr. Moody helped me in the process, by making an inspection of one car I was interested in, and by fixing small things in the car I ended up buying. Mr Moody is skillful, receptive and trustworthy. I have recommended him several times already, and his service is always appreciated, not to say usually 50% cheaper that the other mechanics. In other words, I highly recommend this place !!

If you're looking for an experienced honest shop. This is the place to go. I've known Scott at Alpha Transmission for about 10 years. He has always taken care of my vehicles for various repairs. I can count on his honesty and knowledge to know my car will be fixed right the first time at a reasonable price. I've never had to take my cars back for rework. He's an amazing technician. So again if you are looking for a mechanic that knows what he's doing and someone you can count on please go to Alpha Transmission.

After driving down to Charleston to visit my sister I had some unexpected issues with my truck. Since I'm not from around here finding a good trustworthy mechanic was something I was concerned about. I called around to about 5 different shops and checked in on reviews and pricing. Mr. Moody the owner of the shop gave me the best price right up front compared to all the other places and also made it work to fit me in immediately so that I wasn't stranded in Charleston any longer then a few hours. Very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable which are all qualities that i was looking for. He did the repairs in a timely matter with brand new OEM parts, and best of all he stands behind his work. I would highly recommend them for any transmissions issues you may be having. Good guys they will take care of you.

On Wednesday, my car's shifter was stuck in park but the car was acting like it was in neutral. My dad called up Alpha Transmission a few minutes after they closed and Scott answered the phone. He told us that it sounded like the shifter cable was broken. He said that it could be towed in the next morning at 8am (Thursday). My car was towed and the shifter cable replaced. It ready on Friday afternoon, which was a really great turnaround time especially considering I do need my car to get to and from work. When I picked it up, he told me that the shifter cable can be damaged from drinks spilling down from the center console, which made sense to me and was a great thing to know for the future. I really appreciate the fast turnaround and great service. Thanks

We will be taking all of our vehicles here from now on and for all things. Very Humble and honest service. Quick, but thorough work, and probably the best warranty out of anyone. I am so very glad I went here. Highly reccommended. Ask for Justin. He is the guy to talk to and pretty funny. It honestly feels like you're talking to good friends when I have called with questions. My daughter and I started having problems with her car on the road. We called every ford dealer in Charleston for service and all of them were two weeks behind. I got Alpha Trans number from Firestone. We drove back and Scott came out of the shop, right then drove my daughters car and knew exactly what it was. I thought the trans was out but it was a tire sensor was out! He ordered it right then and the car was ready within the hour! I was very impressed and I will be referring him for sure!!

We had a wonderful experience with the guys at Alpha Transmission. After a truly terrible string of events ending in towing our 2001 Jeep Cherokee from Daytona to Charleston in the snow, Scott helped us unload our car from the hitch and started to work almost immediately.The pricing was fair and honest. They were not looking for things to fix that were not broken - and even gave us a suggestion on where to get a cheap part so we could fix something ourselves.We had to get our transmission rebuilt (not surprising as the previous owners had not taken great care) and it was done quickly and came with an excellent warranty.Being new to the area we are so relieved to find a mechanic we can trust. We would definitely recommend Alpha Transmission to anyone needing repair in the Charleston area.

These guys are awesome. My '81 CJ7 had multiple leaks from the rear main seal, valve cover, and gaskets, oil filter, transfer case, etc. They went over the entire drivetrain and sealed it back up. The price of the service was very reasonable and they even offered to replace my valve covers at no cost if I brought in the new ones. It was awesome service and they didn't keep me in the dark on updates and what needed to be done. I will always be going to these guys.

These guys are great. Ask for Scott! He took my Jeep Liberty for a test drive with myself in the car and was very informative and detailed in exactly what he thought was going on with my transmission. They will be #1 on my call list from now on!

Courteous and TrustworthyWhen it comes to any kind of auto repair it's hard to find someone trustworthy and affordable. Alpha Transmission is both. After calling and shopping around, they gave me a quote that was $1000 cheaper than a competitor and they stand by their work. I took my 2007 Tahoe to Alpha to get the transmission rebuilt with a 2 year warranty. The owner Sean is awesome and humble. They even covered the towing cost to get our vehicle there.HIGHLY RECOMMEND
