My journey with A+ Auto Service began after encountering frustrations with two previous mechanics. However, upon entering A+ Auto Service, I was met with a refreshing experience. I have been searching for a really well qualified and reputable auto shop since moving to the Charleston, SC area a few years ago and I am thrilled to say A+ Auto Service is just what I have been looking for! Having now brought my high mileage car to them several times for diagnostics and various work - I am 100% satisfied and happy with the whole crew's knowledge, professionalism and ethics! I appreciate the time they give to me and my auto without making the experience seem rushed or unimportant. I also appreciate their feedback and recommendations and I guarantee I trust them to do the right thing for me and my car. As far as I'm concerned A+ Auto is the best. They keep me abreast of everything that needs to be done to my FIT before it becomes a problem. I would recommend them highly to all of my female friends who maybe looking for a place to take their car. That being said, they're a great bunch of folks.

I have no words to express my disgust at how horrible this "business" is. I had the bad idea of taking my car to these people 3 times, and all the 3 times: 1) they kept it for very long time 2) they ripped me off of thousands and thousands of dollars 3) my car broke down again after just few days of being released by them. These are professional scammers, do not ever think of bringing your car to them, or you will regret for the rest of your life. Thanks God there are also honest mechanics in Charleston, go for them.BTW before you try to say "there is a mistake, you are not our customer" NO, this review is exactly for you, but these things happened many months ago so you may not remember, but after long time I still cannot get over it, for the horrible treatment I received. I really regret not having brought the matter to court, that's the place where this "business" belongs.

I called the day before drop off to see if they provided the services I needed. Jamie was super nice, pleasant, and willing to listen to the problem. He gave CLEAR instructions on drop off procedures and insured me that he would try getting right on it and update me with a call. They opened @8am I was updated about everything about 2 1/2 hrs later. Super friendly staff! No complaints. Thanks so much again for fixing JellyBean

I called mid morning, explained what was going on with my vehicle, and they knew what needed to be done and said they could probably have it done by end of day. I also needed it towed too, which they helped me with. It was finished as promised by end of day!All in all, I'd say that this was the best service I have ever received from an Auto center! They were fast, fair and knowledgeable. Being a woman I'm offended taken advantage of, I did not feel like that this time. Thanks for taking care of my vehicle!

So I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. But my car has had a number of issues since I started going there. They are VERY nice and friendly people and really seemed to care. BUT, they were the first people I went to for anything major on my car outside of the dealership. And I've had a bunch of random issues on my car since going to them. Like a screw was stripped so they charged me to get that fixed. Then I had the wrong spark plug, so that messed up the catalytic converter. I have no way of proving it was them, but it's just real suspicious. I went to them for brakes recently, and RIGHT after brand new brakes were installed my brakes were squealing. I went back to them and was charged for an additional diagnosis that said it was the brake caliber. They were going to charge me more than what my car was worth to get the caliber and change a spark plug. So I went to someone else for a second opinion. And they pretty much told me that the brakes were installed wrong. That either they weren't clean when installed or cheap brakes were installed. So I called A+ plus to try and work with them. The first time I called I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I called a few other times after that and was left on hold for 20 minutes (LITERALLY). I finally got them to talk to me a few months later and they pretty much ignored everything and still wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for problems they likely caused. So NOW I have "brand new" breaks and they are screaming like it's no tomorrow. (The people who gave my second opinion tried to clean the breaks off but told me it would eventually squeal again. And sure enough after they cleaned the breaks it didn't squeal that much. There was nothing wrong with the caliber of my breaks. They work fine.) I ALWAYS pay cash for my car maintenance. I've ALWAYS paid for the best of the best for my car, no matter the cost. But the number of issues I've had since I started coming to this place have been ridiculous!!! Now I have all types of issues with my car that I have to pay double for because they haven't given me any solutions, just more problems and wanting to charge in the thousands for repairs.Updated: In response to your reply.I am speaking truthfully. I actually called TODAY to see if there was anything that could be done about my brakes which was my biggest recent concern. I didn't get any help today. This was after calling multiple times. I have definitely tried to work with you. I don't mind paying for my car as I mentioned. I've paid up front for every service. But I can't deny having multiple problems that only occurred after coming here. I've never gone to anyone but the dealership prior to this. And, no it doesn't mean the dealership didn't mess up, as I said it was just suspicious. I honestly stated that it was suspicious, not that it was or wasn't this shop's fault. I think that is fair enough. I didn't mention the fact that I was told things were done to my car but somehow, they didn't show up on my invoices. I mentioned this verbally to the guy at the front desk the last time I was there. I even stated to the guy that it was my fault that I did not check the invoice. So, this is one of the reasons I said it was suspicious and I stand by that fair and honest comment. My post was primarily about the brakes because I had already acknowledged my mistake of not checking my invoice in previous visits when I was physically there in the shop. The fact that I called multiple times about my brakes is my biggest frustration now. I don't write a lot of reviews, but this was a fair and honest review. As I said, I don't know who to blame because I can't prove anything. However, this doesn't take away my frustrations or suspicisons. I only left a review after calling multiple times about my brakes and not being helped.

I went in for a wheel alignment and ended up paying over $4,000 to have work done on my car (there were other underlying issues). After getting my car back my car drove fine, but I noticed that my lane assist feature on my car was no longer working (it was working perfectly fine before bringing my car in to be serviced). I contacted them about it and they were really nice and asked me to bring it in so they can take a look at it. I was told they found the problem but that I would have to pay to get it fixed ( I declined). After telling me that I would have to pay to get my lane assist working they asked if I could bring it back in another day to see if they could try again to fix it. After bringing my car back the 2nd time they told me that there was nothing that they could do to fix it and that I would have to go to the Ford dealership to have them fix it (which contradicted the original statement presented to me after the first time I brought my car back). Needless to say. They fixed one issue on my car and created another that they couldn't fix. Everyone was nice but obviouly did not know what they were doing nor did they take reponsibility for messing up the lane assist feature on my car. I will not bring my car back to that location nor will I recommend them to anyone I know.

I am so thankful to A+ Auto and Malachi, who worked with my insurance to help my get my car fixed. I took my car from the dealer and brought it to A+ auto. It was the best decision I could ve made. They helped me get a new transmission for my car and worked with the insurance to get as much coverage as they could. I will be bringing my car back!

I stopped by on that Saturday because something was dragging underneath my car. When the mechanic went under there, he discovered that I had a serious issue, and it needed to be fixed. I am so happy that he noticed that so that the matter was not going to get any worse. I was very happy with the service I waited for the car to be repaired, Jamie kept on checking on me to make sure that I was all right, the mechanic did the same. Just before Christmas my Ford Transit 250 broke down. AAA had it towed there for repairs. They did a wonderful job on it. AAA trusts them so I do too as well. I'll know where to take my van in the future.

In north charleston Im always getting ripped off Every time i go to mechanic to fix my car back in 2020 ihave subaru impreza I tried all shop and i always end up paying ridiculous prices and estimation for cost are obvious ripped any where i go. Until i found A+ auto service north charleston to employee in front will help you out very professional they took care of my car and you can feel they have shown genuine interest took care of my car like it was their car, special thanks to sir jamie the manager. Very honest people and they will do everything to fix your car asap without ripping you off. If theres 10star here i would definitely give it to them.

If I could 0 stars , I would they are extremely unprofessional and they try to charge double after getting a set amount of money from the warranty company they have a contract with . Terrible service would not recommend. At no point was I screaming any profanity at them . They got upset because they got caught trying to price gouge . Again Horrible company would not recommend and Jaime is a liar . Do not take your vehicles there if you expect honest service .

I used to love this place but was very disheartened with my last experience. My wife brought the car in and was given the run around that about 8 different things are wrong with a vehicle we keep up with regularly.The pricing we were quoted was $550 for new tires, $150 alignment, $1200 suspension, $80 oil change, plus a ton of taxes of course.We were left very confused on what was genuinely needed NOW vs what could wait. They couldn t care less about what we could afford, just looked at my wife like she was an idiot.They went as far to add another repair needed on our final paperwork (wheel bearings), did not relay this prior to payment, and it had a nice note On test drive can hear a slight droning noise, suspect that a wheel bearing is possibly starting to go bad. Do not advise driving this vehicle a long distance. This was after we let them know we were about to have a road trip to Virginia seems like covering their butts to me!Will not be going back here and I m super bummed because they used to be great.

I am very pleased with A + Auto - North Charleston. Anything and everything could be done at the shop from tires , brakes, alignment, transmission you name it. They educate me about my car and the prices were reasonable.

Picture this: showing your parents visiting from NY Charleston and all it has to offer and your car overheats on the bridge from John's Island to Downtown. Quite the image, and I will tell you that the anxiety and stress of a broken down car with your parents inside is not the picnic you think. Thank goodness for A+ Auto whom accepted my towed car on the weekend with a convenient drop box. I called first thing Monday morning and a KIND person answered the phone practically on the first ring. Fun Fact: a PERSON answered the phone EVERY time I called! Not only did I experience lovely and intellectual individuals on the phone who explained all of my options clearly and DID NOT give a runaround about cost (the diagnositc is free if you have your car fixed there!) but my car timeline was accurate with a pick up nearly 48 hours later (as stated by the person on the phone). The "walk the talk" of this place is all that and a bag of potato chips. I definitely recommend and look forward to utilizing for all my car needs in the future. Thank you!

Brought my car in for a suspected transmission or spark plug issue. Explained exactly what was happening twice. Two days later they try telling me they think it's my cv axle. I told them it needs to be driven. They find yeah. Kts the transmission. So they quote me. I ask to bring my own to save money I explain I'm a travel nurse and my dad will help me. They said yeah its 2500 for the labor. I said okay. They then tell me they want 500 down to keep my car there because they have no room. So I had to drive it unsafely because they didn't want it there even tho I was going to be paying them thousands of dollars. So I say I don't have 500 ill pay it Friday. They say move the car by Wed. So I show up and ask what around the corner. I don't know I'm not from here. They say I don't know I can't vouch for another parking lot.... very helpful. BTW there's a whole shopping complex behind them where workers park thier vans. So it was okay. Also they are aware a broken down vehicle can't be towed especially after 2 days. But okay. I bring it to cannons right down the road. He was helpful nice and gave me a better price and didn't mind my car sitting there. Was going to have this place fix my bumper as well and my tie rod. But cannons will get the money. IT WASNT WEEKS IT WAS ONE WEEK. MONDAY TO FRIDAY. 5 DAYS ACTUALLY. THANKS THO

Very disappointing. I definitely DO NOT recommend. I took my car there on Sept 13th for a diagnosis and repair, and just got it back today with no repairs done. My car was with them for a 10 DAYS and they did not reach out to me once. Communication was TERRIBLE. The staff seemed extremely nonchalant about fixing my car. After 7 days of my car being in there possession, I called and they had NO updates for me. They charge $125 for diagnosis, and yet they did not diagnose the problem or fix it. BUT they definitely kept my money and wasted my time. 0 stars would be a more accurate review.

Great Auto Body shop to take your vehicle to. I ve been going here for the past 3 years and have had 0 issues. Jaime and the crew are very efficient and friendly. Was able to get in quick for a slashed tire and oil change. Will be going here if I run into any further troubles because of how well they have fixed any car issues in the past. Truly one of the best auto shops I've been to. I found the price to be in the mid-tier of cost according to online estimates (those sites are always taken with a grain of salt), however the warranty they offer on their work is one of the highest I've seen. They handled the majority of my warranty information for me and Jamie gave me wonderful advice for future repairs. They have a great shuttle service and are quick and timely with repairs. Also, they were really kind and professional with the 10+ calls I gave them in the span of 2 days, didn't even get annoyed and were patient with me.Services: Auto exhaust system repair, Auto exhaust system replacement

Well I was recommended to this business by a friend of mine who is a mechanic, saying that the guys at A+ auto service will take care of the issue with my vehicle. My vehicle was disabled in traffic and I had it towed to this business. They gave me a time frame on the work being done and to my surprise with a busy schedule of the business, they had the work completed before the date given....I will most definitely use them in the future.. Best experience I ve had at an auto shop. They were clear, upfront about pricing, and then provided a full report with pictures outlining possible repairs for me to approve. As a woman on my own, I felt totally comfortable, and every employee I spoke with was patient and gave concise explanations in answer to all my questions.

A+ Auto is the one stop shop for your automotive needs. They jave the best customer service and I take all of my fleet vehicles there for service and repair. They go above and beyond for all of their customers and stand behind their work and warrantees! I've even bought several trucks from them too!

Great customer service from the first phone call. I needed to get my husband's car worked on and get our Delaware Inspection forms done since he's military. The staff was great, they fixed everything and took care of the paperwork. They did mention that the paperwork may get returned because states can be difficult however we just received our renewed registration and sticker. We're very pleased with A+.

Very courteous and quick service. Get to the job fast and didn't hold on to my vehicle trying to get me for other work. Diagnosed my problem that I came for and fixed it right away where others telling me 2 or 3 weeks. Definitely will use again if needed.
