I was 60 miles from home with my wife and son when my truck broke down. A no start stuck on a two lane highway no break down lane. I looked for garages near me and that is wear i found The Auto Shop of Chaplin. They got me right in, figured out what was wrong it was going to take some time to fix it. They gave me a rental for the few hours they needed to fix it. That was amazing. They fixed it in a few hours got my family back on the road with a great warranty. By the way the staff their were very nice and helpful.

Honest and fair!I wanted to update this review with more context. We needed some additional work done so we brought our vehicle to be looked at. Even though they had quoted me one price for a repair, when they were able to get started, they realized that the extensive and expensive repair was likely not necessary after all. I appreciate them, reaching out, explaining the situation, and doing what was in my best interest as a customer. I am grateful for a company who is willing to do the right thing. I highly recommend them if you have any automotive repair needs.

Highly recommend!Their entire staff is courteous, honest, and puts the customer s vehicle safety at the top of their priority list. Had to take not one, but two cars in for a good bit of service. First, they didn t bat an eye and were so kind and professional. Secondly, they made it so easy with their text messaging system and being able to see a breakdown of services that needed to performed or recommended for approval. They did the work quickly and efficiently. They have a great team!

Best auto place I ve ever been to. Travelling from Florida to North Carolina and our clutch was having a problem. Took us in because of the emergency. Diagnosed the problem quickly and were very communicative. Told us it would take a couple hours, and we were totally okay waiting as we didn t have any other options, and we were out in 45 minutes. Very nice people. Could not recommend more. Wish there was something we could ve done for them as a token of our appreciation.

My sister went in for an oil change and had a great experience, so I took my car in and they gave me recommendations that needed to be done at some point but I had to decline. They didn't make me feel guilty like the dealership. Really appreciated. I brought my wife's car in for an oil change and they were done before I could run errands.I will make an appointment for some of the recommendations they made for me before and not feel like a number.The mechanics all seem really nice and they answered all my questions.Great price and customer service.Keep up the great work.Had a bunch of overdue maintenance done they were quick and got me up to date much more reasonably than the dealership.Service: Oil change

They were extremely friendly and courteous. They gave me honest and upfront feedback. They were very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend bringing my car to their shop. Knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

Very disappointed in this shop lately. I used to deal with a gentleman by the name of Chris he always was able to accommodate us and our needs. He was also very informative in the suggestions of repairs he let me know what I needed done versus what was could wait to be done as to not break my pockets. Apparently, he has left the location no one could tell me where he went but I would follow him because I felt I could trust his opinion and when working with car mechanics you have to have that trust. The last two times I have called the individual also by the name of Chris that has answered the phone has not been helpful and nor convenient or accomodating. I used to love going here and did both our cars through this shop as well as referred family and friends it looks like they have gotten larger than they can handle and are no longer family or community friendly. Sad but we will be looking for another location to move our service to.

Great service. Incredible Customer Service. They text and/or call following your appt to make sure you were satisfied. Every time we go for our oil changes, they are quick, affordable, and attentive.Give them a chance. You won't regret it.

The Auto Shop recently serviced one of our cars, fitting it into their schedule on short notice. The problem, which had been hard to determine, was quickly diagnosed and their Euro specialist, Michael, stayed late that day to get it fixed. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. We felt the cost of repair was fair. We ll be a repeat customer

Had an oil change.Was in and out less then a hour.Older car needs a few items. Gave me prices and no pressure to get items fix now.Told me they help keep an eye on the itemsWalk to DG picked up a few items.Will go back.

Outstanding auto repair shop and very well run local family owned business. Honest, professional, experienced, friendly, and totally dedicated to customer service. Had a ticking sound in my 2012 Ram PU truck. Took it to my regular mechanic who diagnosed "major engine" issues, possibly liftors, camshaft, or worse, however, his shop does not do intrusive engine work. Called extended warranty service for coverage. They gave me a list of engine repair shops in the Irmo/Columbia area. The Auto Shop of Chapin was at the top of the list. Checked out their reviews, which were excellent, and called. They said "bring it right in" and gave me a shuttle ride home. They confirmed diagnosis, definitely major engine problem, recommending total engine replacement. Very expensive, as the truck is only worth about $7000. They called and negotiated on my behalf, a very fair deal with Endurance extended warranty service for the complete repair. Arranged for shipping of new engine and scheduled an appointment for me to bring the truck back as soon as it was delivered. They provided me with a loaner vehicle, had the engine replaced, and the truck back to me within the week. Owner and management of this shop are outstanding. They, along with their very capable and efficient technicians are friendly, courteous, and totally dedicated to excellence and customer service. You cannot go wrong taking your vehicle to this shop for ANY type of maintenance or repair. Satisfaction guaranteed. Truck is running great!

I had an issue with the automatic running boards not retracting as they should so I took the Ford truck to the dealership. Their solution was to replace the entire system; motor, controller, even the running boards at a cost of well over $2000.00.The Auto Shop of Chapin has mechanics that use their Brains along with the diagnostic equipment and found that due to the exposure to salt on the roads where I worked in NE Ohio for a couple of years the connections on the motor driving the running boards had corroded becoming inoperable. The motor was replaced, all pivot points on the system were cleaned and lubricated for a cost of less than $1000.They provided me with a loaner vehicle for the 2 days that it took to obtain the part and complete the repair.I am very happy with the Auto Shop of Chapin s work, pricing, and their friendly attitude

Front brake job needed new pads, which were installed. However, these pads produced unusual sounds when applying the brakes.After several trips to their shop to locate the source of the noise, they recommended upgraded pads be installed.This was done; braking noise is gone.They were patient and courteous to me throughout this experience.
