We had some car troubles in the area and were able to get our car over to their shop. They have one of the most personable, honest, and knowledgeable mechanics I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. They were able to give a very fair quote and gave the option of getting things used for cheaper. I wish these guys were closer to my home, I'd be going to them for everything. Thank you for what you're doing!!

Joe and his wife seem to always be plugged in to what the customer needs knowing that he is covered up most of the time they still try to deal with you the day you call opposed to putting you off like most people do these days.. I've taken a Land Rover as well as a Mercedes 550 SL for different repairs, some are ongoing but I know he gives it his best shot and eventually gets things squared away for you at a fair price compared to going to a dealer

I'm writing this review on August 20 for an indecent happened on December 20, 2022, exactly 8 months ago. That time I was traveling down to Florida half way with my 1981 Lincoln Continental. If you guys reading this, remember that car?I told you guys the upper radiator hose keeps popping out, and it seems like an overheating to me. You charged $50 for a quick "inspection," the result was simply a "blown head gasket" after "some compression test" which according to you guys will be a $4,000 fix. You even called the scrap yard on the spot, saying I'm unlikely to be able to get back with the Lincoln, they will come and buy the car for $150 if I want to.Well, ironically, the issue is just a loosen hose clamp, a $4 fix after all, time has proved it - I put more than 10k extra miles on the same motor in the last 8 months, done a two-way road trip from Michigan to Texas in the past summer, I really don't see where is that "blown head gasket" that you guys are claiming.See, I don't care whether if you didn't properly do the inspection or just parroting my suspicion, but the facts never lie. I have the inspection report/invoice from you guys, I believe you also could find a copy on your side, I'm just quoting it word by word.Is that because I'm an out-of-state? Expat? It's either something goes wrong with the mechanic skills, or the moralities.

They are an amazing group of people. Extremely friendly and helpful. Joe put a starter on my old Mazda and she runs like a champ now. Could not ask for better service and people to help me when I need it.

What great people! 1st it's labor day and Joe and his wife were kind enough to answer their phones, and despite having plans Joe went out of his way to ensure that I would be taken care of and 1000% delivered. I've been having battery issues with my vehicle for some time and finally was given correct information that fixed the issue. Not only was it resolved but on labor day when all others shops were closed. Please if your near and have car issues don't hesitate to come here they over true value at unbelievable prices. Amazing service! We were traveling and picked this lovely up at a gas station. We called and they said come on over and fixed the tire with in 5 mins and it was very reasonably priced!!!

*UPDATED EDIT*8/2/2023 - I took my current vehicle to Elledge auto for vibrating brakes. I has warped rotors. Again, Elledge Auto handled my repair with 10/10 customer service and friendliness and promptness and expertise. This small business is a true gem! If I lived in Chapin they'd have ALL my auto repair/maintenance business.8/1/2022- This little gem of a mechamic shop is wonderful. Straight forward, knowledgable, FRIENDLY, polite and trustworthy are the adjectives to use when describing this business. Use their services with TOTAL confidence.Service: Transmission

Chris and Joe were so helpful - I hit a curb while working in Chapin and punctured a tire. They were able to order what I needed in a hurry and got me in and out quickly! I ended up buying a full set of tires and they are awesome - my drive home to the Upstate was heavenly - thanks for your wonderful work and friendly attitude when I was having a crazy day!!!Service: Tires

We had a wheel bearing starting to fail on a long road trip. I called up Joe and he and his crew were able to bring us in immediately. They got us fixed and back on the road within two hours of making that phone call! The price for the repair was very reasonable, and included a nationwide warranty. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

We ve been taking our cars to Joe for several years now and recommend him to all our friends. He takes time to thoroughly explain things and makes sure we are comfortable with moving forward on all repairs. We ve never had any surprise charges and feel repair prices are extremely reasonable. The Elledges have always gone above and beyond for our family and we wouldn t take our vehicles to anyone else!

I love Elledge Automotive. They are always there to help me. They go above and beyond and I would never take my vehicle to anyone else. It s hard to find a honest, caring mechanic. Mr. Elledge is not just a wonderful mechanic. He is a great person and Mrs. Elledge is amazing too! Thanks for all y all do!

Just wow! This is a great company too work with!! Really needed a quick fix on a vehicle and they never hesitated. Fixed it the same day. Explained everything in depth and just a very good experience. Will use again!

Great service and fair pricing for quality service. The owners are honest, trustworthy and always helpful. I've been a faithful customer since 2011 and never had to take any of my vehicles back for the same problem. Once Mr. Joe fixes the problem it's done!

I just left Elledge Automotive Services a half hour ago. I was considering buying a truck from a local used car dealer and asked the dealer to bring it by the shop so Mr. Elledge could check it out for me before i bought it. I am so glad I did. Mr. Elledge pointed out to both me and the dealer signs that the normal preventive maintenance had not been done regularly on the truck. The deciding factor in my decision not to purchase the truck came when Mr. Elledge asked the dealer, So how bad was the wreck? and showed me a spot where the paint had been removed from a mount holding a bolt where the metal around a wheel well had actually bent in a front end collision. He showed me how it had sat like that long enough for the bare metal to rust - a telltale sign that the accident (which the dealer, in his defense, had mentioned as a minor fender bender) had been serious enough to move the motor and transmission. He then showed me where the radiator was obviously loose and the bar that holds the hood up had no locking clip to hold it in place due to the accident as well.For this service he did not ask me for any money at all.I will go out of my way to bring my vehicles to him in the future if at all possible. I feel he has saved me from making a costly mistake.

Owner was extremely helpful in the car buying process. Seemingly very trustworthy. Truly helped me make an informed decision while trying to make a purchase from a local used car dealership. Elledge really helped me understand what was messed up about the truck, and why. If I didn't live out of town i'd take any potential vehicle to him to inspect.

I would give negative stars if I could. The owner and his wife are just down right dishonest and unethical. I live out of state and had my daughter's car towed there. The owner told me right off that it was running on two cylinders and he could hardly back it behind the building and that it would need to have a new motor. I could get the motor replaced cheaper in GA and told him I would just pick it up. I called later to find out how much I owed and was told $95 for the compression test, which I had no problem with paying. I have been in contact various times intending to pickup the car and have called about 6 times since I had it dropped off. This week I called to say I'm finally able to come get it and was told to call back to speak to the wife about storage charges. I wondered where that came from because they had never mentioned the possibility of storage fees it before. I didn't say anything and decided to call back the next day and talk to the wife. When I called, she sounded like she was ready to defend what she was about to drop on me. She said the storage fees were $3100.00! That's crazy, right? That's what I thought, especially considering that they had never mentioned storage fees until I called yesterday. They are basically trying to blackmail me into paying a huge amount of money to get my daughter's car. It's very disappointing that there are people that choose to do business like this. My advice is to stay away from them. If they will do me like this, then you could get burnt as well...especially if you live out of state.

I had a pretty nasty issue with the rear brake on my vehicle. I took it to Elledge and they took a look at it for me. I had left it, thinking I was just going to need new brakes installed. Boy was I wrong. It turned out the brake shoes were completely worn down due to being locked up and the rotor was literally broken into two separate pieces. The rotor looked like the rings of Saturn. It was not a cheap job, but they were understanding and broke the fee into two payments for me and got me back on the road. Good place and a really good team.

Normally I hate dealing with mechanics. Most mechanics are just trying to make a buck. Jojo here breaks the mold completely. He treats you like family and you really do feel he is looking out for you. My story involves me completely breaking my whole tire off my Hyundai on the highway. I was able to limp my car into Chapin, SC . Here it is 11:30pm I'm in a town I know nothing about and it's late I can't get any help. Then I found the number for Elledge automotive. I was calling them really just to get their hours of operation but instead I actually talked to Joe. I apologized for calling so late I thought I was just going to get a answering machine. He said it was fine and how he could help and then I told him my situation . He told me that the next morning he would come to me where I was able to get my car to . Around 730 he showed up and did a quick assessment and deemed my car undriveqble ." I can't let you drive that your car is definitely broken" Got the car towed to his shop. Because of the hellish night I had he put my car right into the lift . He took me underneath the car and together found the problem I had snapped my control arm, CV axle , and tire arm. Joe then proceeded to tell me he could fix it for around $2,000. My car was a giant rust bucket as I was thinking how to come up with the money to fix it Joe was like if you have a sentimental attachment to the car then I'll fix it but i need to tell you I would not sink the money into the car. I agreed with Joe his wife called enterprise for me , Joe helped me clean out the car, and he called the junk yard for me to scrap the car. Joe told me about his family while I waited for the rental car. We had a great talk and seriously leaving his shop was one of the first times I felt good leaving an auto shop. He didn't even charge me for any of his time almost an hour and half in total. I highly recommend everyone to Joe . Honest good people still exist and Joe is living proof.

Something punctured my front tire while traveling from Charleston to Atlanta. Fortunately I found Elledge Automotive. You re in honest, trustworthy hands at Elledge Auto. I m from out of town and was traveling home from Memorial Day Weekend when my car broke down. My car was towed to Elledge. I called to leave a voicemail (not expecting an answer since it was Memorial Day) to let them know my car would be at their shop. However, thanks to their 24 hour phone line, Joe answered the phone and reassured me he would get it looked at right away the next morning. Throughout the whole diagnosing process, Elledge kept me up to date with what was going on with my vehicle. They made sure to have my permission before they went on with fixing the problem. Their prices are extremely reasonable and their biggest concern is getting you back on the road safely and in a timely fashion. Even though it was an unfortunate event that my car broke down, especially somewhere I was so unfamiliar with, I am grateful for the kind, honest people at Elledge that made me feel like more of a friend than just another customer.

I was working in Chapin and my van broke down. Luckily I found Joe Elledge s shop! Joe is a very knowledgeable and experienced mechanic. He got me back on the road FAST and was reasonably priced. I highly recommend Elledge Automotive Services.

The best! A traveler passing through has a car break down on the interstate. With help from Pro Tow towing service I got to meet Joe and Chris. The most incredible people ever, and giving it all up to help a stranded traveler get on the road the same day of break down, which happened to be on a Saturday. Tic Toc, the clock keeps ticking this Saturday morning.. Joe had to determine what happened to the vehicle, order parts before the parts "hub" closes, have the parts sent to a local automotive store and then send someone to go get the part before they closed, install it and wha- la... success.!!! .. on the road again all within 5 hours. Unbelievable and yet very thankful! What could have been days of waiting, extra hotel cost, using unplanned vacation days from work, and missing a very important medical appointment all were averted by the incredible customer service provided by Joe and Chris at Elledge Automotive Services. Thank you both!

Best mechanic and shop in Chapin! Very knowledgeable, fair, and performs his work well. If you're from out of town or working at VC Summer, Joe and Chris are the local folks to trust with your vehicle.

As I was new to chapin, I needed to find a good reliable mechanic, to assist and get my timing belt done on my 94 toyota 4x4 truck, after calling other local mechanics, Joe was the only one that followed up with me. He was fair and went above and beyond in customer service he really went the extra mile!! He earned my buisness. (BTW- we have 3 vehicles Tahoe, my little 4x4, and a 2011 dodge avenger.) All will be serviced by Joe.

Okay quick summary I am from Massachusetts quick summary I called up their mechanical shop because my truck broke down they found me a tow company very cheap and reasonable they fixed my vehicle so fast I was not believing that it was done that quick what great people Joe and his wife you know they actually picked me up from where I was staying and brought me to their shop to help me it was it was an unbelievable the best experience like you could ask for as far as dealing with mechanical issues with your vehicle I mean I don't know what else to say but I'm very very happy of them too they are beautiful people great mechanic job well done my work of any sort will go to them into their business only while I'm in South Carolina thank you Joe thank you Joe's wife okay I will be seeing you again
