Unfortunately, I was recommended to this place by a few people. This is the 2nd shop i had my truck at.. Called on April 2nd, & they said I could drop off on April 3rd by 8am and they would look at it. Deal...Well... I called every other day and they not once had an update other than (we know something is wrong with it) even went up there and the mechanics that were there had no clue about it. I needed to ask a certain one ( finally got to him) and he said he was going to work on it some more (that was friday).Well, Monday comes around.. I didn't even call that day.. Tuesday, I called and they had no update.Called Thursday and I informed them I can come get it and take it somewhere else. She was going to have the owner Andy call me.. phone never rang that day.Friday rolls around and I finally called at 2:30.... nothing. Stated owner was wrecker call. Told her I would be there to pick up my truck.. arrive there at 4ish.Owner tells me they know something is wrong (well duh) and he was going to hook up the computer that day but didn't have time. The truck had been in the shop for 10 days!!!They didn't charge anything which is good because they had done nothing.Communication was poor and wanted 10 days getting my trick repaird with this company who did nothing who was highly recommended....

Great communication, you get what you pay for and these guys do great work. They even helped me out by towing my vehicle from my house. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: Thanksgiving day 11/24/23 We are broken down on the side of the interstate between Camden and Columbia in the car that was supposedly fixed.My first experience went really well. Camden automotive was recommended to me by a local friend. I have a 2010 Toyota Camry with about 250k miles on it. Drop off and pick up was seamless and very convenient. Good communication, friendly, and when an oversight issue came up after the fact they fixed it quickly and at no charge.Our 2nd and 3rd experience was the opposite. Took in a 2004 Honda Accord because it was leaking oil. The receipts dated 11/2/23 reflect what Camden Auto diagnosed as wrong and what we paid for repairs. Less than 70 miles later, the oil reservoir was bone dry, and the car had to be towed. The receipt dated 11/7/23 is what we were told the second time was the reason for the oil leak and when we picked it up II asked if THIS time it was fixed and he told us he didn't know and couldn't guarantee it. This was new information AFTER spending $1600 with them! Even though they failed to fix the oil leak problem the first time that left us stranded in Columbia, we were charged for the towing to bring the car back so they could 'fix' it again. We picked the car up today 11/8/23. We'll see what happens.If you are allergic to cigarettes or any of their compounds, DO NOT enter the storefront building !

I will always take my vehicles here if I need anything checked or worked on. They are Fair and most importantly Honest. They go above and beyond in making sure that their Customers are well informed before making decisions on their vehicles. And when I needed to be towed off the side of road. They were quick to get there and efficient.

They were efficient and cost effective. I've been to several other mechanics in town who either didn't notice or didn't care about my car's issues, but Camden Automotive and Diesel got my car running smoothely again. 10/10 will return if I have car troubles in the future.

Good service here. These folks are patient and do their best to help you out. Not overly priced either. Check them out people you won't regret bringing your vehicle here.

Broke down late one afternoon while passing through South Carolina. Thankful we chose to have our truck taken to them! They diagnosed the issue same day (even though it was brought in later in the day) - and had our truck fixed the following afternoon! Very hospitable and kind people!

I was in town for business and they new I was working on a tight time frame and they got me going again as promised and I was able to make my appointment afterwards. They are great. Andy is amazing

Don't waste your time, was given the run around called on a Friday about 2:30 to inquire when I could bring my van in for a problem. Owner said they are closed till Monday, so I said I will come by Monday and make an appointment. So 9:30 am that Monday I went by there, I told him my van was jerking and sputtering when I slowed down so I wondered if the transmission needed to be serviced, do they do that yes, BUT take it to a transmission place to have it checked, so I did. Johnson's Transmission, they test drove it very good, said the torque converter is working fine, not tranny is engine trouble so I go back to CA&D and tell them so they make an appointment for that coming Friday 8 am ,for Engine Tune up and check speed sensors... I say I can leave it for the day BUT I have to have it back by end of day.At 8 am I arrived, they took my info I told the Secretary I'm walking to the library and will wait there for it to be done. By 2:00 pm I've heard nothing so I call..They have not even looked at it!! I said are you going to get it done today,Well if we can't I wont tear it apart where you can't drive it...4:pm they call me come get it..THEY DID NOTHING he said they replaced one sensor but it didn't solve the problem OKAY it takes all of 20 mins to replace a sensor and shouldn't take more than an hr to put in some spark plugs he gives me this whine and dance about how busy he is, running 3 businesses, WHY make an appointment if you are NOT going to honor it? Isn't that the point of making one?Wasted my entire day and I got nothing done to my van,....Im trying to get it ready for a trip...he suggests I should RENT a car so I can leave it a few days..Really? I think he should NOT take APPOINTMENTS for work he has NO PLANS OF DOING if he had told me he is too busy I could have gone to another garage and actually got the work DONE!I won't be back!

Been going here for ages, so did my dad. Always takes great care of me, they are always nice, quick and reasonable prices. They can fix stuff nobody else can. I highly recommend them...I

Had a dead battery in downtown and called them they came and got me cranked and went there right away and they checked out my car and installed new battery very quickly..good auto shop!!
