I just moved down here from NY with a typical rusted NY car. They were recommended to me by a community member. I have had 2 oil changes with them. On the last oil change I had him check my wheel bearings, which needed to be replaced. Todd and his employees were honest with me, when they told me they may have a difficult time replacing it due to rust, but would try. They got me in on short notice, and kept me informed through the day, and allowed me to stop by and get something out of my vehicle for work, that was left in there without any gripe. I am happy utilizing Beaufort auto repair and towing as my go-to garage for future repairs.

Great experience! I just moved to Beaufort (and SC in general). My car needed a repair and I called here. Todd answered the phone immediately, towed my car within 15 minutes, and the repair was done in a few short days - even with it being Labor Day weekend. The price was more than fair. Excellent staff, very friendly. This will 100% be my go-to place for car needs. It brings a lot of comfort finding a place you can trust and is fast. I had a transmission problem with shifting. I explained this to them. When I returned to pick up my car they said they replaced the cv joints and the battery even tho I asked them not to that I had a different problem. They charged me 1000$ for work I didn't need done. I called next day and explained this, he said I could come in for a free diagnostic. I had work the following week so I wasn't able to call back until today. I called explained I found out the problem myself and needed a specific part and to have it replaced he said he refuses to work on my car because he doesn't think I should be driving it because of the condition it's in. Small Frame damage and some dents, sorry I don't have the money to buy a new car...that's why I'm calling you to get mine fixed.. not get your rude biased opinion. I get it if you don't want to work on my car that's your choice.. but don't be rude and force your opinions on others, especially after stealing my money the first time. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to go here, worst company ever. Trust me take your money elsewhere

I am giving Beaufort Auto Repair and Towing the highest recommendation possible. My car broke down on a Sunday afternoon and when I called them, Melissa answered the phone promptly. After I explained that my car has a low clearance, she immediately and honestly explained that her flat bed truck was not the proper vehicle to tow my car. After I called 4 other numbers for tow companies - none answered their phones. I called her back and she told me she had already coordinated with another tow company and they were expecting my call. They came out right away and we brought my vehicle to the shop Melissa worked at - my decision. She came out on her day off (a Sunday) and opened the gate so that my car was secure until Todd (owner) was able to look at it in the morning. He did the next day and was able to fix it before the end of the day (fuel pump was bad). They fit me in to their already busy schedule and took care of me. Price was very reasonable. I am new in town and am very happy to have found my go-to shop when I have issues with my vehicles. Thanks for being honest, knowledgeable and just great people. Spent over $1,200 to have a rear main seal repaired. Got it back and noticed an inspection cap on the bell housing was missing. I asked what happened to it. The owners story went from it must have fallen off to it was not there when I brought in to blaming another shop that looked at the car to only determine where the leak was. So I kept asking if it was missing, why didn t you say anything or it s.l a new one for $10? No answer. I asked several times. There is what is called integrity and doing the right thing to keep a customer service. Do you want a mechanic working on your car mentioning an important part was missing? If you look at the picture it impossible for it to fall off. Go to whomever you want but they will never get anymore of money. Something so simple and easy to resolve. Customers are not first. The owners pocket is.

If I could give zero stars I would. The person answering the phone was polite and helpful. I have no problem with him. The tow truck driver on the other hand is a totally different story. This guy pulls up and asks me, " where is this going?" I tell him to his auto repair shop. The guy outright says "No I won't work on it so where is it going?" I thought he was joking but found that he was dead serious. The issue wasn't so much of him refusing to work on it. It is a BMW and a lot of mechanics don't like to work on them. The main issue is this guy said well if you don't know where it's going I have to go because I have 3 other people on the side of the road. As if I was in the wrong for calling a repair shop for repairs. He left and told me that I should have gotten a car like my buddy's who came to pick me up. I do not recommend this business. I hate leaving bad reviews but this must be told so that the next individual doesn't have to deal with it.

Zero stars; awful is an understatement. Agreed to a $79 diagnostic, ended up costing $430.33, and nothing was even attempted to be fixed. We'll be going to small claims court. Do not frequent this untrustworthy business.

Excellent service! I was stranded six hours away from home in a hotel parking lot with a car that wouldn t start after the long drive. Beaufort Auto repair and towing said they were short staffed and probably couldn t make the repair same day, but could get me towed right away. They came out, saw what a jam I was in and made the time in their schedule to do my repair. They saved me from another nights stay, a day of missed work and untold stress. They fixed my car quickly and got me back on the road safely. I never felt fleeced or vulnerable, these people were just amazing to deal with. I got home safely with no problems, thank you!

I had to give 1 star because 0 was not an option. I had my daughter take her car there to have her transmission looked at. After a few days I got a call that the transmission needed rebuilt for the ridiculous price of $2,800.00. Was rebuilt in Missouri where I live for $1,250.00 about 6 years ago and I just checked and I can get it done for $1,500.00. I ask about the forward band lube line and was told the fluid looked like chocolate milk so the clutches were all burned up. After being told this we decided to have our daughter buy a new car. I drove from Missouri to pick it up and towed it home. I pulled the transmission pan the the fluid looked clean and bright red just as it should have looked. I also noticed that the pipe I ask about was broken which is the reason the car would not move forward in any gear. I bought the OEM part for $105.00 and replaced it. New pan gasket and some new fluid and the car shifts perfect. I called and let them know how what I found, how I felt about their dis-honesty, and that I would like the diagnostic fee refunded since they charged a fee for something they had not done. The owner got all irate, refused to refund the fee, so I let him know I would put bad reviews on every site I could find. He started yelling saying that everyone knows only stupid people put bad reviews on these sites. I also told him I would make sure to have my daughter tell everyone at the 3 bases she works at not to go there. He hung up on me. He didn t take the time to properly diagnose the car and could of given me the opportunity to pay more to pull the pan and he did not. I would have paid to replace the line if he would have found it to be broken and even if it did not work I would not have left a bad review. Very unprofessional when someone is not happy with his services.

Todd and his crew are Awesome people!!! They are very professional and get the job done in an ample amount of time. I am from Beaufort S.C and would go here before I go anywhere else, especially Auto Care, they're HORRIBLE... While traveling, the vehicle we were towing behind our motor home broke down and was not able to be driven or towed behind the motor home. We were about 800 miles away from home and stuck. Todd and his staff went above and beyond to get the car towed to the shop, got it towable and got us on our way home. The price was more than fair. It is hard enough to find a good mechanic let alone a good person. Todd is both! Thank you Todd and everyone at Beaufort Auto Repair & Towing!

I took my 2007 Ford Mustang there to have the clutch repaired. They said we needed a fly wheel and a new battery bringing my total to over $1400. We kept having problems with the car, a week after the car just stopped working. I had to have the car towed. We took it back and they checked the clutch and said it was okay. Less than a week it did it again and again. Within the month of having to have the car towed 4 times. I finally got my mechanic to look at it after he got back off vacation. My mechanic said the battery wasn t charging and he put in a new battery in the car. So I went there to ask for my money back on the battery that they put in for me. Melissa the worker behind the desk started getting irritate with me raising her voice telling it s not the battery and she believes it was my alternator. I told Melissa I worked in sales and service for over 20 years and her yelling and body language was not professional at all!! She gave me word for word and yelled at me causing me to raise my voice. There where 2 other customers in there while she was acting this way and if they see this review they will know I m telling the truth!! Melissa walked away to the back while I was talking to her rudely and took the battery to have it charged. I than ask to speak to the manager because she was very unprofessional. She stated that the Manager wasn t there and he would be back and 30 minutes. I went back later before I could address the Manger somehow he knew who I was before I introduced myself and my problem and said the battery was good just need a good charge, I then ask him to please show me proof and he did, he explained the battery was 12. Something volts and he gave it a good charge and he don t know what I want him to do because getting my money back was NOT HAPPENING!! I then ask him to address his worker Melissa about the way she talked to me he said he wasn t there and THAT WAS NOT WHAT HE HEARD!! I then said well, I m telling you what happened he then accused me of raising my voice, I explained I was not raising my voice I was indeed upset and my heart rate was 133 because I have panic attacks easily! He said again what I wanted him to do. I said as the manager address your employee on how she spoke to me cause all this could of been avoided by just being professional and polite. I have all the recording to prove it. If you go back there with a problem they have a problem and don t know how to address it kindly and professional . Melissa needs to be retained or she needs to be fired!! Y all got $1400 out me but you can trust in the lord you will not get another dime out of me, my family and I will continue to let people know how you treated me!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Highly recommended! Excellent service! Received a quote over the phone and they got me in the next day and had it done in 5 hours! (I had a fan clutch, radiator hoses, and my thermostat replaced) the quote was spot on at an excellent price!

As a visitor from out of state it is a challenge to figure out where to take a car with problems for repairs. Beaufort Auto Repair and Towing came through with the needed work quickly and at a fair price. I highly recommend them.

My car broke down just outside of Beaufort SC and I had it towed to Beaufort Auto Repair & Towing. The following day Michelle called me to get the details of what happened. She gave me a quote, they fixed the car in record time at a fair rate and even picked me up at a friend's house when my car was done. Everyone I spoke to treated me with excellence. I highly recommend this business.

BAR&T always take great care of me and my vehicle. Any time I have a problem, they are very quick to resolve the issue. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of repairs or service. The staff is great and they have top notch mechanics!

If if you take your vehicle here you might as well go to the dealership because at least they really explain what they do when they charge you twice as much as any other place except for Beaufort Auto Center. They charge me over double the price I could have got it done somewhere else but since my roommate had spent thousands of dollars there he is assured me that would give me a great deal. I trusted them and they did fix the main issue which was my radiator but there are a couple of issues with my front end which they fixed and aligned. The alignment was want much better in the car Road marginally better but they didn't check any of the lights that were on my Dash which I asked them to check them all and they didn't address any of those much less give me a price or an estimate of what it would cost to fix because they didn't check it. I asked them to check everything because I just bought the car. After talking to a real mechanic he said that my shocks were bad which is something I asked him about and they said no but he said that was probably causing all of my driving issues. Then I called it ask them about the shocks and they were double the price of a nearby competitor whom I've never spoken with before never spend any money with or know anyone who ever spend any money with. I asked the lady at Beaufort Auto Sales why the shocks were $84 a piece when I'd spent most of last evening looking at shocks and never saw one that was that expensive so I asked her if I could just bring my own shots in and she said if I did it would be double the labor. Just so you understand these people are friendly and nice and professional but they are charging you nearly the double going rate for the same work anywhere else other than a dealership

I have to say that I had a horrible experience with my insurance company in every aspect imaginable. From the tow driver to the girl in the office( I wish I would have gotten her name) they were super nice and went out of their way to get me back on the road. She even called her brother to see if I could borrow his trailer to tow my van to atlanta. Now talk about going above and beyond. I would recommend these guys to anyone. Very helpful and honest. My kinda people. So again thank you Beaufort Auto Repair for all that you did to get this carpet guy back up and running.

Customer service was awful! I will not be doing business here again! Front desk receptionist was rude and not willing to satisfy customer. Instead she wanted confrontation. Bad customer service!The owner is sticking up for the receptionist! I have been there because I paid 25.00 to have my truck inspected. The mechanic even drove it to see

I brought my car to them and all I knew was that it was making crazy sounds. They figured out everything that was wrong and they figured it out quickly. They are honest and reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone in the area.
