I can tell you right here, right now, for as long as I m living in Rhode Island I ll be taking my car to the folks at BTS on Pawtucket Ave.Why? Let me count the reasons:1) Friendly service that is unmatched2) They re quick to get you your car back without compromising on quality of service3) They look out for your best interests and won t nickel and dime you4) They care about their employees, closing for both days on the weekend. Love to see that kind of leadership.If you re new to the area and need a place to send your car, don t waste your time looking around. You ve found the place right here.

NOT like a good neighbor.Got my new RI license plate, but one rear screw head started to strip as I tried to change myself.BTS is almost next door so I stop by thinking they might just do it on the spot. Nope make an appointment, which I did first thing in the morning.I arrive early for my appointment. Empty waiting room, not busy.An hour passes and I see a tech grab my car and pull it into the service area then almost immediately back outside.I go to the desk they say - "Yup, came right out. that will be $67 .I ask to repeat because it sounded like they want to charge me $67 to pull a screw taking less than 5 minutes.They do I complain. Manager says, OK I ll charge you half a minimum time slot - $33 .NOT like a good neighbor.

If you look like an older person, consider going here. If you have experience with mechanics and know how to shop around for a price, consider going here. If you don't need a lot of work done, consider going here. If you are like me, a young person who needs a lot of work and doesn't have much experience, BTS Tire & Service will take advantage of your weakness and charge you for as much as you don't notice.I am a college student from out-of-state. My dad just got laid off, my mom has leukemia, and while her health is looking better these days, things have looked scary in recent years. If things go south, I need my car to be with my family, and the drive is 6 hours. But it's an old car and it was acting up, so I started looking for a mechanic. I tried asking around for recommendations, but that went nowhere. I went to BTS because of the many good reviews and the fact that their responses, even to the bad ones, seemed nice and considerate.I get there at 11:30, leave the car there. When they call me with the car's diagnosis at around 2pm, they say the car's front brakes and all tires need replacing, filters need changing, and rear shocks are leaking. All that stuff was a hefty bill. I talked to my mom about it, unsure if it was good to pay that much, but she was more worried about me driving home in a dangerous car than she was about being fleeced by these people, so I gave the okay for them to start working.At around 3pm, they call me to say that while they were disassembling the brakes, they noticed that something else was broken and upped the price by nearly 800 dollars. This worried me a lot. Again my mom was more worried about my safe travels than getting fleeced. But I couldn't let it go. This felt wrong.After talking to car-knowledgeable friends, I got an itemized bill and started to pare down some of the stupid costs. They were charging 30 dollars for an air filter and almost 90 dollars for the cabin filter, which both have nothing to do with the driveability of the car. Air filters are both easy to replace and cheap. Then I talked to Greico Toyota Services to see how much replacing the important parts should cost for my car. They said that replacing the front brakes in their entirety should be 500-600 dollars. It was hard to discern BTS' price since the individual charges were spread out, but the guy said that the rear shocks should cost about the same. I was being charged more than double.When I went back to confront them on the rear shocks, the person on the phone tried to gaslight me into believing the price Toyota gave me was for one rear shock. When I told them the Toyota guy had confirmed the price he gave was for both, they put me on hold for 5 minutes and a nice-sounding lady apologized for making a clerical error, saying it had been such a long day and she just so happened to miss it.Keep in mind that the rear shocks should have been included in the initial price. I had been calling them back and forth for a lot of the day, but that initial call was at 2pm. Middle of the day.I don't address that. I move on, and once they read out a price that's about $60 more expensive than the initial price they gave me, I got swept up in this one victory I had in the whole situation and didn't push further. I should have. Remember the front brakes? The ones that the Toyota guy told me should be $500-600 in their entirety?They charged me $1663.23. Even if you double the estimate, that's still at least $400 too high. I haven't even tried to see if they're screwing me on tires. I don't have the energy to.I came to them in need of help and BTS Tire & Service left me feeling defeated, useless and stupid. I want to say that any of their nice words are genuine, but remembering how quick they were to gaslight me, I can't believe that. I'm willing to bet the whole place is just rotten enough that they can get away with it.The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the car works now. This has been edited after a look at my call history to provide clarity and accurate times.

Good service, accurate quotes. Brought my vehicle in for state inspection they found a problem with the front axle. Gave me a quote and it was on the money. Finished the a timely manner and I was on my way.Thanks BTS

Saw a few recommendations on Reddit for BTS, and needed some significant work done. They were pleasant, straightforward, and accurate with both the timing of the repair & the cost. I will absolutely use them again for any future auto needs.

I was able to get an appointment the day I called to drop off my flat tire. The service manager was friendly and knowledgeable He picked up the wheel and showed me the location of the sidewalk failure and called me the next morning when the new tire arrived. He also noted that 2 other tires had been mounted backwards. The shop completed all the work and reset the TPM in about 30 minutes at a fair price

I have a long history with BTS and have always found them honest, reasonably priced, accommodating, and thorough. I've never had to go back for something that was missed or not repaired properly

Very friendly and communicative, quick turnaround. Went there for a tire replacement and when there was a problem after the tires had been changed, they took care of it quickly and at no extra charge. Very good service, will definitely be returning to BTS for general car service in the future.

BTS Tire is the only place I ll ever go for tires. I have been going there almost 40 years. They are knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, caring, and helpful; I can t say enough good things about them. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!

My experience was pleasant. The staff at BTS were very helpful and clear when sharing repair information, cost and the time it would take to complete the job. I dropped my car off mid morning and BTS had the car back to me by the end of the day. I would highly recommend their service. The only reason why I did not rate as five star is because my car was dirty when I went to get into it. There was dirt or oil on my seat, armrest and door panel. When I pointed this out the staff addressed the issue right away by cleaning up these areas.

Great experience! They took the car on the same day I called and fixed a problem I had with brake lights. They charged a reasonable price too! Highly recommend.

Brought my car in due to shaking and AC not working. Shaking was when slowing down/braking from high speeds. Noted that v it was getting worse and now at low speeds too. Also wanted to know what was wrong with my AC and how much it would cost, before summer gets here.None of this was addressed. I was told I needed 2 new front tires and that there were 2 sensors that needed replacement. Over $1000 estimate.When I questioned the mechanic, because I had just replaced the front tires and had an alignment a few months ago. He became defensive and told me I could take my car someplace else.When I asked about the issues I brought my car in for, he replied, I can't see past the tires they need to be replaced 1st. There was more back and forth and in the end I replaced the tires and the car still shakes when slowing down from high speeds. The lower speed shaking is gone.When I asked if there was a guarantee that the tire replacement would be covered if the shaking is still there he replied I can't guarantee anything, all I know is I can't see past those tires.Also, the AC was never looked at and it was recommended that I wait until spring.

You re just not going to get service like this anywhere else. Fast, friendly, and my tires were perfect. They even corrected a problem another repair shop forgot to do, which they noticed when doing my tires. Great job BTS!!!

I came here with a hole in my tire. I told them I had a hole in my tire. I had AAA come to my house and put enough air in the tire for me to make it to a tire shop. The AAA technician wet the tire and showed me where the hole was. I drop the car off at BTS and come back and was told I only needed a patch. I m like are you sure?! I saw the hole myself. Was assured it was just a patch that was needed and paid $35. I knew that was wrong in my gut but went along with it because hey, maybe a patch would work and a cheaper price is better for me given how expensive just breathing is these days. A few days later as I was on the way to pick up the child that I mentor, you guessed it low psi warning. Not sure how they missed that hole in the tire, but that s not acceptable for a tire shop. So I basically gave them $35 for nothing and things could have gone pretty bad if I had that child in the car with me.

I had never done business with this company before.After a breakdown during a major storm I was towed to them and accepted like a long time customer.When the storm knocked out power to several blocks they dug out floor jacks and flash lights to get me back on the road.I only wish I lived closer to them, if you are lucky enough to live in the Pawtucket area, make them your service station.

I brought in a friend of my daughter s car to BTS to get checked out because another shop had quoted her $11k to fix everything that was wrong with her old Honda. BTS looked at it and replaced the brakes for a reasonable price. Thanks for being so honest!

Fair price and frankly really close to my house. Tires aren't complicated so not sure about other services they provide but they fit me in quickly and did a good job on the tires.

I ve been bringing my personal and company cars to BTS Tire & Service for over 30 years. They are very accommodating and always able to fix my car s issues and I ve had some challenging ones! I really like that the owners are onsite & involved and their mechanics are incredibly knowledgeable. They don t just run a diagnostic and tell you everything checks out when you know you have a problem. Thank you BTS for continuing to provide excellent service.

The best mechanic business in town. Whatever you need BTS staff and team will accommodate you ans certainly take care of your vehicle the right way wirh a fair price. There is a reason why so many customers return back to BTS to get service for there vehicles is because they know the job will be done correctly. And if any problem they will certainly make it right.Ive been going to BTS for service on all my vehicles since arriving to Rhode Island and even though I moved to Johnston. I still continue to get my service from BTS.Best car service center in Rhode Island10 stars

I just wanted to say BTS Tire and Service is the play to go for your tires repair, friendly and professional, I took my car to another place before to have my tire fix and them not only try to charge me more for a flat tire and valve replacement also they were so rude and not professional at all, I found this place BTS with a friend recommendation, and I don t regret they did the same job for less money and as bonus their r courtesy, they check all the tires, explained to me all the matters. They did not try to sale anything extra to me I highly recommend this place!Definitely I m going back again,Thanks BTS Tires & service for your professionalism and help
