Beacon Automotive will treat your car like it's their very own! If you're looking for a mechanic that's knowledgeable, professional, and transparent, look no further. I highly recommend Steve Mullens and his team at Beacon Auto, these guys are top-notch.

Great shop. Been a customer since 2012, I brought my car by after being told by another shop I d need a new exhaust system that would cost me a few thousand. I told the owner Steve and he solved my issue with a new clamp that cost me $50Ive brought 5 different cars to him over the years. The office is very friendly and accommodating. They get me in and out every time. Many thanks to Beacon-Nishan

Was over an hour away from my home when I ended up getting a flat tire. Luckily they were very close to me and I was able to drive my car to them. They were all awesome and helped me quickly, thank you for your kindness and help! God bless

Steve is one of the best mechanics around. Extremely knowledgeable And friendly, gives honest quotes and is never out to take advantage of anyone, Melissa in the office is very professional and will answer any questions that you may have .

My car wouldn t go into gear & transmission fluid & radiator fluid were leaking out I called & Melissa said to have it towed there & Steve & his employees had it up & running within a week at a reasonable priceI would definitely recommend Steve to anyone looking for a decent professional trustworthy mechanic I also need back brakes so I ll be bringing it back in Next week & I made an appt for my dads truck to get it inspected !!Thank you Beacon Automotive! You have my vote !

Happy to write another 5-star review for Beacon. I have an old vehicle (2006) so a couple repairs throughout the year isn't unusual for me. I've been going to Beacon since I moved to Newport 3 years ago and they always do a great job. They never try to sell me something I don't need and they always fix the problem. Friendly and fair in their pricing. I won't go anywhere else!

Incredibly friendly and honest. They will tell you what needs to be fixed and what you can hold off on. I completely trust them. Update. They did my brakes and they are beautiful now. The guys there are great! Friendly and honest as always. I was really happy with the service, attitude and price these guys provided. They did a solid job for less money than another local shop had quoted, fitting me in to accommodate my schedule. Everyone I dealt with there was friendly and the place feels happy, not like some of the other shops around.Give Beacon a try, you won't be sorry.Services: Brakes, Auto brake replacement

Beacon Automotive saved the day! My daughter is a student at Salve Regina University which is about 2.5 hours from our home. She had a very unusual electrical issue with her car, which was making a strange sound when parked and off, and was also draining the battery. Based on Google reviews, I called Beacon Automotive - and I am SO GLAD I did!!! They were able to service her car the same day, and fixed the issue within hours. The communication with their staff was outstanding - so friendly, professional, and honest. Steve took the time to research the issue, contact dealerships - and then figured out and fixed a short in the car's wiring. The price they charged was well below what I expected to pay for diagnostics and repair. I highly recommend Beacon Automotive for Salve students who have cars on campus, and for anyone else in the area who needs a fantastic and honest mechanic. I am so thankful for their service!

The best place and also the most honest garage to go to on Aquidneck Island. Their rates are competitive to other garages (absolutely cheaper than dealerships) and they always get to the point of what needs to be fixed and they will show you what needs to be fixed so you will not be sandbagged on some hidden cost or hidden repair. If any complaints, is that they are extremely busy now as their reputation precedes them, however if it is an emergency they will try to see your vehicle that day if possible. Just go here to get your vehicle serviced, you will not be steered wrong.Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

Great experience! Needed a new transmission on my BMW. Seamless transaction. I trust their work definitely. They even pointed out other concerning issues to address with the vehicle. Great shop of mechanics. I would highly recommend to go here!

I went in with a problem regarding running lights that no one else would tackle. (I literally went to 3 different Ford dealers and they all just shrugged their shoulders and said they didn t know, even after I paid for them to look at it.) Beacon figured it out so quickly that they charged me only 1/3 of what they had estimated it would be... and the estimate was low to begin with. Honesty and caring. I tipped, but I think I m going to send an extra Christmas gift this winter in addition.

UPDATE JUL 2022: BEACON IS DISHONEST! CUSTOMER BEWARE!Took my vehicle to another shop in the area bc my check engine light was still on after BEACON supposedly fixed it.I told them what BEACON supposedly fixed and what parts they replaced. I showed them the receipt from BEACON.This other shop told me the part they charged me $150 to replace was not replaced. They told me they were disappointed to see this and that they would not refer customers to BEACON anymore.Original Post:Owner communicates poorly, is not clear, and then becomes rude, impatient, reactionary, accusatory, and unprofessional with the customer when trying to understand what is going on with the service. This was repeated from my first phone interaction with him prior to my first service and then through several services on my vehicle.I have never experienced the difficulties or rudeness from any mechanic shop that I have had with the owner of Beacon.

Beacon was recommended to my family by other military families. I would recommend them as well! We've been incredibly happy with the service we have recieved. Fair and honest pricing, and when I called and inquired about some work they were honest with their opinions about what needed to be done. And as a female infeel totally comfortable talking with the mechanics and dont feel as though I'm getting the wool pulled over my eyes.

I am so happy I found this place. You will not find a better mechanic in Newport. The prices are fair and the work is always done right. My husband also takes his car here. After having a bad experience at a mechanic that is located right next to his work, he took his car to Beacon and the initial problem that was not addressed was fixed and his car was running smoothly again.

I have a unique love/hate relationship with my VW, a fairly low mileage (for a diesel) '03 MK4 Golf ALH manual. Steve and the guys at Beacon Automotive treated my minor project professionally and with respect, willingness to collaborate when I was able to source some unique specifically needed parts. Steve was also quick and honest to communicate when the work had a setback that would take more time, and his team were successful in resolving the issue. Transparency, professional results, and reasonable cost. I trust Beacon Automotive!

Best service evah! Recommended by a local. I called up in the morning for an emergency (of my own making). They were not sure if they could fit me in, but made it happen by 3 pm. Most understanding and accommodating. Price was way more than fair. I would only suggest that you call in advance to get seen. I was probably lucky. They are super busy and every bay was full the whole time I was there. Can't recommend enough.

Steve was very friendly and professional. I couldn't find a better deal in town for the Timing belt labor. The work was done on time and the car is running perfect. I definitely recommend this shop.

Trust Beacon Auto to do what s right for you and your vehicle. I completely trust them.I ve taken my 2001 truck to Beacon for routine maintenance and for little things that come with owning a truck that s been on the road for seventeen years. Steve spends most of his time diagnosing the problem. Unlike other places that jump to conclusions, he makes sure he finds the simple solution before charging you for work you don t need. He treats everyone with respect and has a passion for what he does. Highly recommended!

They did a great job. We were in from out of town with a broken AC. They were honest from the get go, stuck to their word and guy us fixed up at a very reasonable price. Our drive back to Florida was a much cooler affair!

Recently went in for a locked up rear caliper and oil change. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Repairs were quick and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. I will be back!

Excellent and trustworthy place as the yelp reviews suggested. They managed to fit me in although they were booked up for 2 weeks. They checked my brakes because they were squeaking and solved the problem. Best place in Newport
