Today is the second time visiting Melvin s and felt like I had to leave them a review. Both of my visits for two different things have been superb! Today I was dealing with a leak in my tire, which had me feeling stressed. Needless to say, I walked out of there with a smile on my face. Customer service was excellent and my wait time was approx: 5-10 minutes at most.Just want to thank the team at Melvin s!!! Very few places like yours, you ll always have my business and those whom I ll recommend!

Super appreciative of the help and support from the staff! My tire blew out on my trailer and there was none in stock, they found some used tires to get me back on the road and even threw in a used spare!!!! I am super grateful and very thankful to have stumbled across this shop and their extremely welcoming staff! I owe you guys!! Highly recommended!!

My partner and I got our brakes fixed here last week and it was a wonderful experience! Great work and customer service, with a great price. Mattie especially stuck out to us as a great employee. We will be coming back!

I had THE BEST experience at Melvin's! I had my appointment set up and was in and out with new tires in less than an hour. The team was incredibly fast and friendly. HIGHLY recommend if you need any tire service GO TO MELVIN'N in Johnston!! You will NOT regret going there!!

The team at Melvin's are consistently friendly, professional, and reliable. I've been using their services for the last 4 years and have never been disappointed or felt overcharged for service. They let me know what repairs are necessary and what is optional, allowing me to make informed decisions. They are exactly what you want your local auto repair shop to be. They are dependable, courteous, and reasonably priced.

Chris and crew were great! Figured out my tire issue in minutes a fixed it, took them 10 minutes!! Really appreciate you guys, wished I spent more than I did for the repair, they are certainly worth it!! Go and see these guys, they will get you back on the road in no time!!

I have been bringing all of my vehicles to Melvins and they've always been amazing. I recently brought in a Jeep that I purchased and it had a cracked oil coolant housing. They repaied it for me and explained everything they did. Super reasonable pricing, cheaper than the dealer and it's fixed right the first time!! Willy was super nice and explained what was broken and what was replaced. I trust them to always be honest and that's why they're the only ones who service all four of my vehicles!

Chris and his staff are always so helpful and accommodating whenever my wife and I come in. He is very knowledgeable and makes a point to make every experience a pleasant one for us. He fits us in immediately whenever we call with something. The customer service he provides goes a long way and is very much appreciated.

my story starts on sunday when my car would not start. the day before a very busy week i was worried about my transportation and finances to fix my car. After getting it towed to Melvin s I felt a lot of relief knowing my car was in good hands. I communicated the problem to the phenomenal employees and they fixed my car so quickly! I was so impressed and eager to get my car back. The employees at Melvin s kept in touch to make sure I was 100% satisfied with the car. I couldn t think of one complaint. without the amazing customer service and hospitality Melvin s tire pros showed to me, my week would ve been ruined. An employee that really went above and beyond for me was chris, he was sure to let me know all the problems and how he was going to fix it and really made sure my car was at the best possible condition. Thank you Melvin s tire pro I appreciate and can t wait to visit soon!!

I was purchasing a used car and needed a pre-purchase inspection done. I had a tentative appointment with another Johnston area mechanic but that fell through at the last minute. Same mechanic suggested Melvin's. I called them up and they were able to take me in. They did a thorough inspection and I was in and out within an hour, which was great on such short notice. Very pleased with the service!

I ve had the pleasure of having this great team of Service Technicians do work on two of my vehicles. One was a 2009 Lexus Rx 350 with 235k miles on it which I recently sold to purchase a newer model. It was keep in such great condition mechanically that I got a great price for my trade. I could have never reached that high mileage if it weren t for the awesome technicians at Melvin s. This year I purchased a 2017 Lexus NX200t Sport with 99k miles on it and they too will be servicing it and even helped me decide on the purchase.Melvin s front team Chris(the manager) Haley, Maddie and Willy are beyond knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. This crew is a fun group and the atmosphere is always upbeat. They have always been truthful, upfront and reasonable with the cost of my repairs that s what I appreciate the most. I never hesitate to to recommend them!!!Pedro is new to the team and I look forward to working with him as well.

I had been to two other tire companies previously and thought I would never find an honest, fair, and energetic but it happened I have had three cars serviced and two new sets of tires in the past three months Melvin s is my auto super star. Never been more comfortable and happy with the top notch service.

Recently brought my car in for an oil change and to find the cause of a sound I kept hearing that another shop couldn t seem to figure out. They were they able to get my car in quickly, diagnose the problem and were so pleasant throughout the entire process. My new go-to mechanics!

This shop should be shut down for unsafe work. Melvin's:1. Put my truck on the road with a missing lug.2. Repaired the (now rusted) post when noticed months later while I was adding air to my tires but put on *the wrong size lug for the truck* so the tire then did not seat properly causing it to shift when driving, causing damage to the rim and uneven tire wear.3. Overfilled my power steering cylinder causing fluid to compromise the main belt & catastrophic engine failure while driving.I will never go back to this shop and unless you want to put yourself or your family in danger I strongly suggest that you don't either. Ever since Mavis took over this business it has been a completely different shop. I wouldn't trust them to tie my shoes never mind put a tire on my car at this point.The images show Melvin's lug replace & post repair, my mechanic's finding, and the belt they had to replace free of charge for damaging the engine by overfilling the PS fluid cylinder.Go anywhere but Melvin's.

I was visiting family over the weekends and on Saturday on the way to RI I got a flat tire. I called around a few places open on a Sunday and happened to call Melvin's. When I was spoken to on the phone unlike the other businesses I called in the area, I was assured I would be taken whenever I came in and they would be happy to help me. They set me up with a work order over the phone. I showed up a few hours later, they took me right in. They did not over charge me or try to push me to get a new tire, it was done in a reasonable time between other customers and I was on my way! I highly recommend!

The best tire shop I have came to in Rhode Island. Very professional and quick. I just came back from vacation and stopped by and I can definitely say that I would recommend. Chris was very helpful and was very explanatory on things I didn t know. HighlyRecommended

Last week I noticed my brake light going on. I brought the car in, they determined the brake fluid was low and topped it off. I was heading out on a long drive and asked whether I should be concerned about a leak. "No, the tech would have found it" I was told.I went on my long drive, and while I was 8 hours away, the brake light started coming on again. I got it to a mechanic, who found the brake calipers leaking significantly and soaking the pads. They had to replace the calipers and pads and they had to scramble to do it in time for me to get back here last night. When I called Tire Pros/Mavis to tell them my story, Chris said there was no way to know whether there had been a leak when the car was with them, or whether it had happened after the car left. In some universe this is possibly true, but it would be a remarkably improbable coincidence.I was put at risk and considerable trouble because they did not figure out the root cause of the leak, and I am absolutely leaving this business to find another mechanic.

Melvin s is the place to go if you need work done on your car. I ve been going here for the last ten years and have never had a problem. The staff is kind, the prices are great, and you truly can t beat the customer experience here!

Just great service overall . Staff really friendly and easy to go over step by step process .As well as compatible., got my tire off Amazon and from Amazon got the package to get it installed at Marvis,booked my appointment and when I arrived ,within an hour wait, it was all ready to go . . Overall a smooth and easy process

Went there to have an oil leak fixed on my 2008 Mercedes ml550. It was leaking at the oil pan and oil filter housing. They told me it wasn t leaking anywhere and the only thing leaking was coolant. I m guessing what happened was they realized what a nightmare it was to do an oil pan on a Mercedes and wanted it out of there shop. They told me they did an oil change and charged me 120 which is understandable because it takes 10 quarts and was due. The only problem is THEY NEVER CHANGED THE OIL OR FILTER. They never put a service sticker on and the paper they gave me said they used 5w30 when my benz calls for 0w20 which is a big difference. He claims he put in 0w20 which is not what my reciet said. Now I usually do all my maintenance myself but really didn t trust myself enough to do the pan so I gave it to them so I m no wizard but I know my car in and out. I brought them the filter back and showed them and they admitted to the filter not being changed but told me they changed the oil. I drove it from Hartford ave to Atwood ave aprox 5 miles and there was barley any oil on the dipstick. They never changed the oil because 5 miles isn t enough to dirty up the filter or the oil that bad. They gave me a refund which I can appreciate but come on really? If your not knowledgeable about cars they will likely take advantage of you and not change you oil but they will be happy to take your money. Please be on your toes when dealing with them. If I kept driving I would have definitely siezed my engine. Also brought a 95 Silverado there for inspection. Truck had a piston in the bed to make it a dump bed. They told me my frame was rotted to bad. The truck was clean clean for a 95. What happened was they never even looked at it and made an assumption because the bed wasn t lined up to the cab. Then called me and told me it was rotted then blamed it on the girl didn t know what she was talking about behind the counter . So be careful they might be charging for an oil change and not doing it and you might have to sit there and babysit to make sure there actually doing what there charging for. Photos look not that bad but the leak is worse when running because it s a top mounted oil filter

First time at tire pro for an oil change Super warm and welcoming staff, excellent service, super knowledgeable Mike advised me on which oil he thought was best for my vehicle because of the amount of driving I do did not wait long at all suitable waiting area will definitely return for next oil change very happy customer
