They are okay for tire changes and oil changes but don't ask them to do something as complex as an engine swap out. I had an engine replaced and they replaced it with a used untested engine that as far as they knew, as they told me, we were told it works. Safe to say they lost a customer after I lost my transportation, almost lost my job because I couldn't get there as easily, and over $4,000 that I was charged for the work. They are nice guys but I don't think they know cars as well as they think they know.

They are very honest and hard working mechanics. They know what they are doing and there prices are good. They have always treated me fairly. I even dropped my wife's car off because of brake problem and I did not have appt. The next day they had car done and at a reasonable price. I would recommend Hope Auto service to everyone.They fixed my truck, my car, my in-laws car & truck. Well worth it. Bring your car in for estimate- you won't be sorry.

Service was great and they got me right in and took care of the two front wheel bearings on my wife s car. With that being said, I got my receipt and was charged 699.76 for the (2) wheel bearings. No part # s listed on the invoice so I m not entirely sure which wheel bearings were installed. So me being a car guy I do my research on the parts real quick. Come to find out most places sell the same wheel bearings between 100-150$ each. I know the shop is a certified NAPA parts installer so I call Napa to talk with a good buddy of mine. As a regular customer off the street I can walk in and buy the stock replacement wheel bearings at 167$ each or the premium wheel bearings for 206$ each. So now I call Hope Service back and ask why the parts cost so much?! Rich s response to me was call your buddy at NAPA back and ask list price. Little fact: list price is not the price that was paid for the wheel bearings. To me this is unethical as they upcharged damn near double of what their actual cost was. He also told me there is an upcharge on parts so they can make money as they don t make money off of their labor. Labor rates are 105$ per hour which to me is fair since the going rate is between 75-130$ per hour. But knowing he is not paying his mechanics 105$ per hour tells me the shop is making money there also. Being involved and knowing the auto part industry, shops get commercial discounts, I m still dumbfounded on why I just paid 700 for wheel bearings that any consumer off the street can walk in and buy for 412$ at their cost for both. Any commercial shops cost for the same parts are a little bit less than that so they can upcharge some to make a few bucks there. But paying damn near double is highway robbery. I asked the percentage they upcharge and was told there s a formula. Not sure what that formula is or how that goes, but I can assure you that will be my last time going there as I just paid for 4 wheel bearings and only purchased 2.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement

Hope service is my new mechanic! They went through2 of my vehicles that needed to be totally redone.They were on time and very affordable. I am a fanatic about my vehicles and Richard took the time to make sure all my concerns were met. Robin in the office is also very nice and helpful. My brother has used them for years. Every mechanic at the Hope Service Station is fantastic. They are super honest, they don't ever push to get something done if it isn't 100% necessary. They'll truly be honest with you about your car. I always feel taken care of and my car always leaves their care better than when I left it! I won't take my car anywhere else.

Absolutely the best auto shop in Rhode Island! I ve been a repeat customer for 15 years and have been nothing but happy every time I take one of my vehicles for a repair. These guys really know what they re doing, and they can fix anything.Cannot recommend them higher!

Very respectable buisness practices. I have found oil changes cheaper else wear BUT actual serious work to cars is a different story. I always bring my quotes to them from competitors and its half the price here! Love this place.

I have had all my auto servicing done at Hope Service station for 25 years. No complaints at all from me. Always available and fast repairs are very convenient, The owner and service techs are very polite and knowledgeable. I brought my car here for brakes; was told $400. Then I was told it would be another $100 because they had to special order a part. Ok, I accepted that. When I picked up the car, the bill was over $800. I asked around and the owner has done this exact same thing to a few friends of mine as well. Charges over $90/hour for labor. I will never go here again.

Great service here. I brought my truck here monday, no appt and I never been here before.They said leave it but they wouldnt get to it today. I was thinking if you can do it this week. They called me thurs and said your truck is all set. That was fast. Very friendly and smart mechanics. Price was very reasonable. They even gave me a ride home. Very clean place and plenty of parking.

Over charges for unreliable work. If my car broke down in his parking lot I'd have it towed somewhere else.
