Safeway is a very hospitable place. The staff is very personable. They get you in very quickly. It takes no more than 24 hours to get an appointment. They do a great job. I have been going to them for many years with many different vehicles. And I am always satisfied.

Great customer service and knowledgeable team. Definitely trust that my car is taken care of. Price is always a concern when it comes to car maintenance but I m unfamiliar with this area. The price of the various repairs I needed seemed fair for the most part. There also wasn t a push for upselling unnecessary repairs which was nice anytime I m pushed to buy an additional car repair I feel guilt tripped and annoyed.

Safeway oil has had mine and my families back from day 1. They explain what is happening and what they are doing to your car as well as the cost. The whole crew at Safeway is just amazing and I recommend them every chance I get. Bradley and Sean are my go to guys and I always feel in good hands when I am there.

Second oil change completed. Called the same day and they were able to fit me in, even though they were pretty busy. I will be scheduling a 3rd Oil change when it's due. Customer service was great and professional.

This spot really takes care of their customers. I've been going for the last few months and they have gone out of their way to help out in any way. Making appointments, changing appointments, drop offs, etc. All good work done too. I recommend them.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them. The owner and mechanics have both been thorough and helpful and due to personal issues I have not been the easiest of customers but they have been nothing but helpful and done their best to meet my needs. My experience could not have been better and I will continue to use them for my future needs.

This is the second time I have come here, and that s only because I was impressed with my first visit, as I was yet again with my second visit. Unscrupulous mechanics (and men) are ubiquitous, so when you find one who is not, you stay loyal; even willing to offer a personal recommendation, gladly.

I was charged for the license plate lightbulb without being informed first. It would be nice to receive a call or text concerning any damages or changes that need to be made beforehand regardless of how cheap or expensive it may be. I m sure any other customer would appreciate that as well. Overall customer service was great, employees are very calm, nice and friendly. Will definitely be revisiting.Thank you.

Lots of recent repairs needed on my 2011 CR-V to keep the beast on the road, at this point Bradley knows my number on the caller ID always very kind, explain everything thoroughly, and always get a text a few days later checking on the repair. Great service! Just moved to RI and was looking for a reliable place. They were able to fit me in last minute which I was not expecting. Made an appointment to get my oil change on my Mercedes sprinter van. My experience was quick, professional, and painless. I was in an out and on my way. The staff went above and beyond to explain to me what he did and the questions that I had on the job that was done he told me where I could direct them right down to the number I could call for the state of Rhode Island. Above and beyond I highly recommend Shop to anybody looking to get any kind of service done to the vehicle.

Had an oil change they didn t put a new oil change reminder sticker on the window and didn t reset the reminder that shows up on my dash. Makes you wonder if the oil change was even done. The manager is very young doesn t look like he s older than 21, inexperienced I will not be going back

Go somewhere else to get state inspection. Read all the 1 star reviews before going here and wating your money. They harped on one minor issue that wasn't even a problem, but overlooked a major issue that was found at a reputable mechanic.Service: Vehicle InspectionService: Vehicle Inspection

Thank you Safeway Automotive! It's never fun to have a car serviced but you certainly make it a lot less stressful. My husband and I feel grateful that we were lucky enough to find safeway which is close to home, always accommodating with appointments, knowledgeable about what services are necessary and most importantly honest! Be-aware, and stay away as my experience was not positive and other reviewers also state the same.My usual preferred mechanic shop was not available to do a state inspection during the my week of vacation.So I did a quick Google search for other mechanic shops within the Cranston, and this is how I located Safeway automotive, which had 3.9 stars out of 5.Safeway Auto had an availability open for the same day, so I booked an appointment. Check in was easy, and they completed the state inspection within 45.One of the employees, reports to me that my car failed and how it was a serious issue. Their Reason: my back brake lines were rusted out and how it could break at any moment. They were afraid to even touch it (really?). This was the 1st RED FLAG.I asked the Safeway employee to show me the issue. After touching and inspecting this supposed fragile (using sarcasm) brake lines. It was only surface rust, as there was no leaking or bubbling. (Pictures were taken)I come from a family of mechanics and I have a very good understanding of cars. At times, I do some of these jobs myself. Also, I paid for a PPI (pre purchase inspection) before buying this out of state vehicle and it passed with flying colors.After I started to question why they failed my car, this Safeway employee seemed nervous. Long story short, I asked them to give me an estimate for the repair, and to hand me back the keys.Red Flag #2:They couldn t provide me with a printed estimate because they had a new system and they verbally quoted me $750 to repair 2 brake lines. What? It should only cost around $200 out the door. Huge signs of shady business practicesRed Flag #3:I get this speech how I need to get this fixed, b/c once you fail a State inspection, there is no way to reverse this decision. And how I needed to get this repaired no matter what (not true).Immediately after my negative experience at Safeway auto. I took my vehicle to a different reputable mechanic shop and asked them to inspect and replace my back brake lines. They were busy but I set an appointment to come back 2 days later in order to get the work done.The morning of dropping off my vehicle to get the work done, I showed them the picture I took of my brake lines. They were surprised how I failed the inspection and they wanted to take a further look. Also, this reputable mechanic shop quoted me about $200 (not $750 quoted by Safeway ) to get the work done, and I agreed to their price.I get a call several hours later from this mechanic shop, stating how my brake lines are fine but they do have surface rust. This mechanic even bang his wrench against the brake lines and they held up great. They said how there was no need to replace them at this time.Safeway Auto are scammers.(remember how they were so fragile that it was going to burst at any moment. What a Joke!)Long story short, I took my vehicle to get inspected by another STATE inspector. Who passed my car with flying colors.Unfortunately, Safeway wants to pry on naive customers and scare them to paying more than 3X for work they do NOT need.It s my advice to stay away and go elsewhere.

Came in for a State Inspection. They were very thorough and explained everything to me. They have a very nice and clean facility and are very professional. I will be back for any services I might need in the future.

As most of the other reviews say, be prepared to pay double the normal going rates of other mechanic shops. Got my rotors and pads replaced and paid over $600 and almost $100 for an oil change . I will say their turn around time is good. But, I highly advise any potential customers to shop around before making a decision While this shop quoted me $600 for the brakes and that was their premium brake package another shop just quoted me $350 for the exact same parts and labor.. So be fore warned, shop around, you will most likely guaranteed find better deals than this place!Service: General repairs & maintenance
