Great spot to take your vehicle for work. Fast, transparent and fair. Everything can be done online and they send you updates throughout the whole process. Had a pretty major issue with a BMW and they took care of it right away w/ a fair price and same day. Highly recommend!

Excellent repair shop, would definitely recommend highly! The mechanics are all doing a great job, and I like that they all seem to be in a good mood - when you're happy at work you do your best job ;-) Pricing is honest, fair and affordable! I like that they send you a detailed list of what they recommend to be done on your phone and you can go through it and see what you need done immediately and what can wait. I came for the brakes and an oil change, and I thought my belt might need a change, they told me I can wait with the belt or get it all done at once - saved some labor cost that way. The guy at the front desk even gave me a phone charger when I told him my phone had just died! Very caring and accommodating people. They just gained a customer for life ;-) Best repair shop I've been to!

I recently had an oil change and inspection done at J&S. Not only were both services completed in under an hour, but they were also able to accommodate me on the same day I called in. The customer service was exceptional and attentive throughout the entire process. I appreciated a printout at the end detailing other work and providing an estimate for future repairs. Very satisfied with my experience and would not hesitate to recommend J&S for any future service needs.

J&S Auto is a terrific place to have your vehicle serviced and repaired. They are honest in assessments and estimates, providing detailed videos and repair costs to the customer before any work is started. The mechanic's are licensed, knowledgeable, and conduct trustworthy repair in a fast, thorough manner. And the manager, Peter, is a great person to work with. He leaves no question unanswered and every concern is addressed. No pressure. No gimmicks. No shady practices. Don t look any further. Go to J&S!

I visited yesterday with my daughter and have never felt more comfortable as a women going to an auto shop alone. Peter was super great and did such a great job at explaining what needed to be done to my car, as well as was honest about not being able to do something I had asked about. John was super timely in doing my oil change, overall super comfortable experience and will absolutely be making J&S Auto my go-to!

Very positive first experience. Scheduling an appointment online was a cinch, and Peter was able to get my vehicle in very quickly. As others have said, they send you a video pointing out the issues with your vehicle, then they send you a breakdown of all the parts needed and the cost, so if you have any sort of doubts or second-thoughts, you can show another mechanic and get a second opinion. I think it's a refreshingly honest approach to doing things. Peter kept up text communication with me throughout the repair. Once the work was done, I was able to click a link they sent me and pay online. The serious issues I had with my vehicle have been fixed, minus some potentially very expensive transmission work, which they recommended a nearby transmission shop to me.Again, very positive first experience and I will be coming here again in future.

The team at J & S auto in Cranston are great! They were helpful explaining what problems my car was having and which are most important to fix. They were able to get me my car back in reasonable timing. The auto shop sends coupons in the mail for a variety of services!

Stay away from these guys. All my years dealing with mechanics these guys are one of the worst. My vehicle had an issue with the brakes where they would be tight and then once in awhile feel a little soft. Everything was fine pretty much it was very minor. I was told by someone else that they thought it was the master cylinder that was bad and needed to be replaced. So I bring it to these guys and tell them that and I brought it there thinking it would be a free estimate because no said otherwise. Well the vehicle sat for 3 days while they tried several times to send me a video of I guess the leak and failed to do so and when I call them back to find out what's wrong with it they told me that I needed a brake line to the back that was leaking and they wanted to do both rear brake lines charging me $700 then they said I also needed brake lines in the front which was another $700 and they said that my calipers and my rotors are not working at the same time as my other brakes so those had to be replaced as well and they want it over $1000 for that. Then I get my vehicle back, with an invoice it looks like for $125.00 for testing an inspection which I don't believe I was charged but could have been. Then I take the van and there are no brakes in the van the pedal always goes down to the floor I check my brake fluid before it went in and I had a little less than half of the reservoir filled with brake fluid and I had brakes that were operational now the reservoir is empty completely. I put more brake fluid in and the brakes are still to the floor and my brake light is now on..on the dashboard and none of this was this way before I dropped it off. I was probably better off not even dropping it off to get a quote from them... I call them back and of course they denied doing anything to the van except just looking at it. Apparently though I never lost brake fluid before going there and now I have a leak in the rear. I'm bringing my vehicle to another place to have them take a look and see what they did to my vehicle and see if they created that leak and see if it's all that is that needs to be repaired.

Thorough, skilled, kind, fast, and fairprice.I visited 4 places before and no one could fix the slow air leak in one of the tires. Others recommended trying different things that didnt help and charged me hundreds of dollars for each failed attempt. This place was able to pin point the cause and fix at reasonable price. Also did a number of exchanges all within a day and at about 20~30% cheaper than the dealershop quote. He replaced my break light for free even before I made the commitment to proceed with the repair at his shop and was very friendly.

Brought my vehicle in for an oil change, and they told me I needed my front break pads done and that I wouldn t pass inspection. Wanted to charge $800+. When I get my tires done somewhere else they said they were fine, and when I brought it another place to check the breaks they said that they still had 1/2 life left.Also brought in my fianc�s car to get spark plugs, coils, and thermostat replaced. They quoted us over $2,000. Instead, got quotes from two other shops and ended up paying $700, and the other shop quoted us $1,000.Never have I been to a place that tries to take advantage of customers like this, steer clear.

Took my new (used) Subaru in for inspection, and got 30,000 mile services done the next week. Completed in less time than promised. Very understanding when I had to reschedule. Since then I have made three round trips to NYC and NJ and she s running great!

Took a used car here for a pre-purchase inspection. I missed my appointment and didn't call until 20 minutes late so they (understandably) thought I cancelled, but worked with me to squeeze me in. Inspection was quick but plenty thorough, and they let me see the undercarriage on the lift as they reviewed what they looked for and saw. Staff are friendly and know their stuff, and they can handle a manual car. Credit card accepted. Great shop!

This is the place to come if you want excellent service for a decent price every penny worth there expertise. I had my 650i bmw fixed , they were quick and efficient dropped off my car next morning they had the part and was going to pick up my car 4 o'clock that day . J&S AUTO REPAIR I RECOMMEND HIGHLY !!!!!!!! You will come in and feel welcomed best staff hands down . Keep up the the excellent work I will be back found my new mechanic shop . Manager was great. He was respectful and willing to assist me with my car problem. He did a free diagnosis of a car I intended to purchase and I thought very few places would go extra miles for customer service of that nature. J&S is special

I took my car to J&S Auto Repair for the first time for an oil change. They were great. Peter was attentive, prompt and courteous. We were in and out in less than an hour. Definitely will return there for my vehicle needs. Thank you Peter!

Highly recommend. Took my vehicle for state inspection, they worked with me and did everything they could to get it pass for the emissions side. Honest and reliable. Definitely will go back for other maintenance work.

Love this place, making appointments online and they respond is huge for me. I ve been to places you make an appointment online and it s like they don t know you ve contacted them. Super convenient making online appointments. Also they ll show you a video of things your car needs coming up. Actually get under the car make a video of your car and what you may need soon. No pressure to do them that day just a heads up. You re going to need this soon. Really go the extra mile!

Truly amazing crew!!! Everyone at the front desk to everyone in the garage! They are friendly and incredibly nice and very Accommodating!!!! I would recommend them to anyone (and I have) I will definitely be seeing them soon! I will only trust my car in their hands. I am a customer and friend for life!

First time bringing my car to them for oil change, much cheaper than dealership & done in less than an hour. They checked a tire that had a slow lea & told me what the problem was, no charge. I'm taking that up with dealership that sold me a car with a bad tire. Referring friends & family. They seem honest & reliable.

I had to get an inspection done, tint was too dark, brake light was on, so it didn t pass. Peter allowed me to fix the issues and bring it back without charging me. Then the day I came to pay, my debit card was acting funky, again Peter allowed me to take my vehicle and come back to pay for it. This was my first time here, and the amount of trust and leeway with the customers is unmatched. They definitely won me over.

These guys are fantastic! I took my Elantra in for some service on an extended warranty. They went above and beyond going through the whole vehicle to find everything that needed fixing. These guys are super professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Highly recommend.

Stay clear if you don t want to be screwed out of money. Brought my car for an inspection, they said it failed bc my car needed breaks and calipers. Mind you my car is a 2016 Honda and had been in their shop one month prior for breaks and no one mentioned anything about calipers. They quoted me over $1000 so I asked them to hold off so I could get a second opinion. The manager asked me if I d like him to run the failed report or not run it. I asked him to not run it so I could get a second opinion and not have to pay twice if I chose to go with a different mechanic and when I arrived to pick up my car, he had ran it anyways and charged me $55. Needless to say I brought my car to a different mechanic who told me I definitely did not need new calipers and charged me less than half the price for my breaks and rotors. I had to pay the $55 again to have my car passed elsewhere which is unfortunate but I d rather give my business to someone else than return here. This mechanic just lost a whole family of customers.

This review is based on the experience(s) I have had with J&S Auto. Since my warranty on my Hyundai Gensis 2.0T ran out I've had a few problems with my car, and each time I brought it to J&S Auto. Peter and Stephanie who greet the customers are professional and friendly. Arion the mechanic who repaired my front and back brakes, gas line, strutts as well as all my oil changes is an awesome mechanic. I know when I pick up my car it will be repaired correctly and safe to drive. Also the coupons J&S Auto sent out is extremely cost effective since auto repairs are expensive. I will never take my car to a dealership again. J&S Auto is the place to take your car repairs, you won't be disappointed. I give them 10 thumbs up.M. MorganCranston, RI
