I ve gone to Safe Way in the past for an inspection and had a great experience. But what I love is that they re partnered with AAA for roadside assistance. I had a nail in my tire this morning and Chad showed up and had the spare on within less than 30 minutes of sending in the claim! I work in home care and rely heavily on my car. I only had to reschedule one of my patients thanks to the speedy service!!Services: Tires, Vehicle safety inspection

Its always a joy working with safe way, from our cars to trucks and even our motorcycles safe way has been able to assist our family in our times of need. Recently my uncle was in need of a state inspection, we were right at or past our initial fail. safe way answered the call with no hesitation and got us in without having us schedule another day, and time. They were able to get us in between appointments, and get us the sticker! We ve worked with many of their employees across town needs, inspections or maintenance. they have always been professional, fair priced, and honest. I would recommend safe way to anyone asking! It s a great family owned car lot, rental lot, and service center, and a true Bristolian family!! Keep your cash in the community, and support local business like Safe way!

We were visiting from out of state and picked up a screw in a tire. Safe Way was recommended by the owners of our B&B. I went over Friday morning, hoping they could fit me in. They were so kind and took the car in right away. The tire couldn t be patched, but they got me a slightly used tire and I was on my way by 9:30! The charge was more than reasonable and we had fun talking with the owner while we waited! What a surprisingly pleasant way to end vacation - thank you!

I felt the need to further explain my original review and add more detail about what actually happened. I called this Safeway place to ask what happens if I noticed that there's any damage done to my vehicle from them towing it. Who would be liable for it? The lady on the phone said that if there was any damage it should have been brought up before I left the premises. Mind you, it was utter chaos at that place and I just wanted to leave. I also wasn't told by anyone that I needed to do a full inspection of my car before I left and it wasn't written on anything, not even on the receipt. So I told her I don't understand, it wasn't stated to me and it wasn't written anywhere. She told me if I didn't like her response than to take it up with the Bristol police department. Which I did (the only good advice that was stated the whole conversation). After calling the police department I was told that they would be liable for any damage even if I noticed them after the fact I've already left. So they out right lied to me in hopes of covering their own butts. I just wanted to let everyone know just in case, because there is always a possibility when forcefully moving someone's car especially in the middle of the night that something can go wrong. So if anyone notices any kind of damage done by them it's their responsibility to fix such damage.

Do not bring your car here. If you bring it for a diagnostic, they will tell you that you need to fix "x" problem, then you pay thousands of dollars to fix it, and then you will still have the same problem. When you bring it back, they will act confused, and then conveniently and confidently say that it must be "y" now, and for a couple more thousands of dollars, we will fix it.

I had a 9AM appt w/Safeway for tire rotation & alignment today & was told that it would take 3 hrs. I never received a call, so I call them at 12:40 PM and the explanation was that when the guys got back from lunch they d finish the alignment. I don t believe it takes all morning and then some to do a tire rotation and alignment so I walked from my home to Safeway to pick up my car. Upon arrival I was casually told that I was sent a text.but now it s 1:45PM so I paid the bill, and I said I would not come back again. Whoever this guy was at the desk asked me who I normally go to for service and I said Herb Chambers. He asked why I didn t go to Herb Chambers, which is really none of his business. I said that the price was less but it was really a matter of convenience for me. He tried to make a point by arguing with me and telling me that this is 2023 and it s Friday. He s had more customers today than just me. This man is bold and insulting, I asked him if he had reset the car so that the air pressure light wouldn t come on. He told me that if the light comes on. I can go back to Herb Chambers and have them reset it. I told him Safeway would reset it and he said that I could call and make an appointment for that !! This guy was rude and sarcastic. I told him at least Herb Chambers treats me as an important customer. I will never go back to Safeway in Bristol again ! Very unprofessional and unbusinesslike !!! I will be sure to tell the person that referred me to Safeway of my experience today !!!It is my intention to make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This kind of behavior should never be tolerated by the consumer.Services: Tire rotations, Wheel alignment

Due to a car accident I recently found myself without a vehicle. While I car shopped I still needed transportation for work. They made the rental process so simple. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were flexible as I needed to extend the rental a few times. If I am ever in need of a rental to get to and from work again I would not look anywhere else. All the stress of the accident, lawyers, insurance company, physical therapy etc...it was nice to have a carefree simple solution to my transportation needs without disrupting my employment. It was a nice comfy ride with great safety features.

They are the only place we use for repairs and car services. They are local, honest and reasonably priced. Recently, I was told by a dealership that my brakes needed to be replaced so I called them up and they got me immediately in for that and inspection. They called me when they looked at my brakes and said I had more time before replacing them and that I shouldn t touch them yet. I appreciated the honesty as this is an expensive service to have performed when not needed right away. They have always been honest with us and is one of the major reasons we go to them. Other places try to sell you more than you need. You won t be disappointed. Waited two weeks for my inspection, drove up with no engine light on and after 5 minutes of the mechanic with my. car, I suddenly have an engine light I was told so the inspection can't be done. I have a 2018 Volvo XC90 that tells you when something is wrong with the car. Safe Way didn't want to be bothered with my car that day. The light by the way was a camera light which was blocked by the mechanic. The mechanic who I assume runs the place told me that he 'doesn't ever want to work with Volvos". Then maybe you should post this on your site or inform people when they book for service that this is the case. BTW, my car passed inspection in less than an hour elsewhere. Nothing was wrong with the car. The problem is with Safe Way Auto.

I went to go get my brakes done but they let me know that it wasn't the brakes causing me problems but my tires. Then they showed me the problems with my tires and my tires were really bad. I really appreciate their honesty and not trying to get extra money out of me by saying I needed brakes too. The prices are fair but most of all their honesty to a single lady that knows nothing about cars means so much to me. Thank you Safe Way for keeping me safe. I'm a customer for life Service: Tires

My daughter s car broke down and we called Safe Way and they were very responsive and came quickly. They took the car back to their shop and found that the alternator needed to be replaced. They replaced the alternator and checked the battery to make sure it still has life and didn t need to be replaced. They did an excellent job at a very fair price. I would definitely use Safe Way again!Services: Electrical, Battery

I use Safe Way Auto for all my car needs. I have always been very satisfied with the level of service they provide and they managed to get my A/C colder than I've ever felt it on a recent vist. I appreciate their level of enthusiasm and attention to detail. My family and I have been using safeway for years and I cannot praise them enough. They are the only mechanic I trust with my subaru. They've done routine maintenance on my car, repaired my door when I was in a hit and run and perfectly color matched the new panel, and always guided me in the right direction.They're a family owned business that will not swindle you, will always get the job done right, and is very accommodating and friendly. There is no truth to the claim that this business discriminates against women or is unfriendly. The business is partially woman owned. Safeway is a Bristol mainstay because the owners are honest and reliable. They are the only auto shop my husband and I trust and we have been coming here for some years. If you can t get through or get hung up on remember that phone systems aren t perfect. Try again, it is worth it!The owners give back to their community and their ethics are beyond reproach. Any long-standing customer will tell you this. If you ask questions, they are answered and you can learn more about your car, car maintenance and get very helpful advice. Having had bad experiences with unscrupulous businesses - Safeway is a guiding light in a sea of gray mediocrity. They are the best!

Safeway has consistently been fair and wonderful in helping my family with cars of all makes. 4 sets of tires, helping me when I got a flat from a huge nail, fixing my exhaust leak, changing my transmission, and the list goes on. Safe Way is great! I bought some tires from an on line tire company who wasn't the easiest to deal with. Safe Way dealt with the company to get the tires delivered, set up my appointment and had the tires installed the next day.

My car wouldn't start yesterday after work and I had my car towed to a mechanic by Safe Way Auto Center. I was taken care of by very professional and friendly employees. I was called before the truck arrived to make sure I had a ride and to reassure me the truck was coming and the tow truck driver was very friendly and helpful. Overall, Safe Way helped make a bad situation better! Thank you!

Don't come here if you are a young and/or a women. I'm a 18 year old women who went here for a broken fuse. Quick job that was done efficiently.The receptionist hung up on both me and my boyfriend and were making rude little comments to us, I don't know if it was a bad day but thats no excuse.Now for my bill, it was 160 dollars to change two fuses. 149 for the labor then 7 dollars for parts (plus tax and everything).This happened back in May of the year I'm writing this. After talking to people who are knowledgeable about cars, they are saying this price was ridiculous. But I was definitely taken advantage of since I am young and a women.Service: Electrical repair

A few weeks ago my mother car ended up with a dent in one of the doors. I had went to a few other places first, they quoted me very high prices. One guy wanted me to go a find a door that matched from the junk yard and bring it to him to put it on for me.(REALLY)?? So I came to Safe Way and spoke to Joe. Very nice guy. He looked at the damage and he went and found the door for us, had it brought to his shop,and made sure the color matched. He even got my approval before he did the work. I looked at it and said it looks like the same door. They cleaned it up and replaced the door interior and everything. Very good work. Very nice folks. Overall, my mother and I were very happy.

By far the best experience I've ever had with a mechanic! They are honest, very reasonably priced and polite. I brought 3 vehicles to Safe Way and they gave me estimates far below what I was expecting on all the work. Also, they had all the work done on the same day. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of repairs.
