I called to see if Kevin could help me out with my daughters car that had some issues. And since she is a college student and I was over an hour away, he said to have it towed here and I'll take a look.. So we did, he went through the vehicle, found some problems and gave good options and good advice. Also a fair and honest price , which is rare these days. I highly recommend him for any auto service. Thanks again.

So yesterday I hit an ice dam and took out the front and back flanges of the exhaust system. Ordinarily this would involve replacing the whole system including the expensive catalytic converter , as these components have factory welded flanges that connect them together. Most shops would have gone this route. However, Kevin, knowing I didn't want to put a lot of money into an old car, and seeing that the system itself was solid, recommended simply welding new flanges on the two units. THAT was a no-brainer for me. $145.35 and one day later the car runs quiet, like it never even happened! I've been a salesman for over 40 years and am pretty keen at sizing up individuals and right from the get go I could tell the guy was solid. He did not disappoint. GO TO KEVIN. Your car and your wallet will thank you!

I stopped by as my tire light came on and I had the gentleman who was there check my tire pressure and he had to put air in one of the back tires as it was low. I was very appreciative as I am having a problem with my back and have trouble bending over to do it.

My husband called this business for help with my jeep (he was on. Speaker phone). Husband called as I was recommended by the number of positive reviews. When I called both the secretary and mechanic were very rude to my husband He told them what I thought the issue was (Evap light) and they gave him nothing but a hard time as a local Bristol resident and business owner I would be hesitant to do any further business with this establishment. All We wanted them to do was take a look at my vehicle and they even refused that, seems like they re only trying to make a quick easy buck. Great news there are other automotive businesses within Bristol and Warren.

My son Dylan is a student in the area, home is in northern Vermont. He had a noise in his car after returning from Christmas break. I looked up McCarthy's number based on the fact that we had called them once before for an issue and they were very helpful. I gave my son the number and he called and went over. He took Kevin for a ride. Come to find out his lug nuts had loosened on his trip back to school. A quick fix that was easily taken care of but could of ended in bad results. I am very thankful that he has someone he can go to since home is 6 hours away. God bless an honest mechanic with a good heart!

I've been going to McCarthy's for over 30 years. Kevin is a top notch mechanic and he's one of the most honest guys you'll find in the area. He will tell you what's wrong, fix the problem and charge you a fair price. Over the years He's helped me out many times with problems when I had no appointment and was able to squeeze me in and get me back on the road. Highly recommended!

My daughter is a full time student and works and her car made a loud noise like a jet plane. She called her landlord he recommended this auto shop. She drove it there and they checked her car from top to bottom. It was thought to be a transmission issue that would have cost thousands, but hey diagnosed it as a bad wheel bearing. That had it fixed in time for her to go to work later that day and the cost to repair was very reasonable. They even gave her a ride back and forth to the shop. It is a family run business and they are very pleasant. I am so happy she has a good trusted mechanic close by.

Charges at premium price but not premium customer service. I came back to ask a question about a sound my car was making after he had done work to it,He seemed offended like i was blaming for something which all I wanted to know is what the noise was and if I should be worried.Services: Brakes, Auto maintenanceServices: Brakes, Auto maintenance

Went in with a piece of metal on the bottom of my car loose and dragging on the road. It was removed and he explained next steps for me. He was quick and knowledgeable, and the best part, he did it free of charge. I absolutely recommend going here.

Super nice people! They took me in right away and he showed me what was wrong with my tire and explained it to me, which means alot! Also they fixed a piece of plastic under my car that was hanging off!
