I bought this 97 Dodge Ram with a known transmission problem...transmission was rebuilt 30k miles ago so I hoped the internals were ok...unfortunately, I figured out the issue but it was to late and it needed new clutch packs installed...it was severely overheated...the check valve in the cooler lines blocked up. I have the ability to do the job but the truck sat for a month. I stopped by and talked to these guys about rebuilding it for me and they gave me a price that just made sense to let them do it. A few days later it was done and ready to go. I had asked them to replace the rear main oil seal but he didn't do it because he didn't think it was leaking...turns out it's the valve covers...he could've done the part and charged me but he didn't. Great group in here that work very hard and know what they're doing. Take note that they put a 2 year 24k mile warranty on their work too.

They rebuilt the trans in my 2008 Ford Explorer for $3000 (lowest estimate I could find) with in 5 days. Had to bring it back day after getting it due to slipping and they replaced the shifter cable at no extra charge. Now it works like new and I m a satisfied customer and recommend them.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Just wanted to recognize this business I locked my keys in my car and walked over to them to see if they could assist... Jackson was willing to help and spent time until my door was unlocked. Really appreciate the willingness to help especially since it was during their lunch hour and not something they traditionally do. Thank YOU again!

I have use this business since 2018. Norm, Jack and Vanessa have always taken care of my needs. Sometimes at no cost. I have had two different buicks worked on by York Transmission. I am very pleased with the workmanship and the quality they have done with my cars. In the future if I have other transmission problems, there is no question that I would come back. Fair and honest pricing. I had my truck transmission serviced there for a leak from the front of the transmission. They were very fair and honest with me as to what the possible repairs may consist of and the costs. From the time of dropping of my truck till the completion was about 6 weeks. The length of time I am sure was due to the fact that I had told them at drop off that the truck is a 2nd vehicle and I am not in that much of a hurry. I am totally fine with the amount of time it took. I have had the truck back now for somewhere around a week now and have had no issues. Also I must add; during all my interactions with the owners (in person and over the phone) they were very polite. I would definitely recommend this establishment to my friends and family.

Was recommended from a co worker about the reasonable prices, browsed through the google reviews. Called for a quote for my 03 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel transmission rebuild an was very reasonable. Took about 4-5 weeks, got it back with a great warranty an everything seems back to normal! Would highly recommend their services!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Having to repair a transmission is a big deal. Several family members and friends have had work done here and recommended them. Didnt disappoint and I'd also recommend them. Price was fair, rebuilt my transmission in a week and after a few hundred miles car shifts great. Really couldn't have been better.

Good, Honest, Reliable CompanyI brought my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer to York Transmissions for a slipping and over revving transmission. I just the bought the vehicle 7 days before and was having issues with the dealer taking responsibility. A friend recommended York Transmissions and decided to give them a try.Mr. Norman greeted me and stopped what he was doing to attempt to diagnosis my issue. I advised him of my dilemma and he inquired about any warranties I may have with the vehicle. Luckily I bought a Warranty at the time of purchase with the vehicle. Mr. Norman was familiar with the warranty company and took it from there.Mr. Norman and his family kept me updated throughout the repair. Mr. Norman worked with me and the warranty company to find the best solution for my situation. My warranty company opted to replace the transmission and Norman and his team got it done fast. In little over a week's time my vehicle was completed.From start to finish my experience was wonderful. My vehicle is shifting and operating great. I would definitely recommend York Transmissions and Auto Center for your automotive needs.Honest, Reliable, and Efficient: what else could you ask for!

Wonderful Staff. I Enjoyed My Experience with Them. I Had a Transmission Leak around the Bell Housing of My F250 and They Worked on My Truck. It was Very Quick Turn Around. I'll Have to To Drive it a little more and See but so far it's doing Fine. They Even Sent Their Son to Pick Me Up When My Truck Was Finished. I Still haven't Put Over 300 Miles on it Yet but I Feel Confident with Their Work.

I got my car done last week.Initially suppouse to stay for 2 days, and I have to call, otherwise I never get updates.It took longer than 2 days untill my part arrive.But the job got done, and so far is working great.I totally suggest this place, BUT be aware of waiting time; transmissions aren't easy and not all the parts are available in York.But you can trust on this place and the job.The price is really fair.

York Transmissions rebuilt the transmission in my Mercury Mountaineer and I couldn't be happier with their work and prices. I was so happy with their service, I brought in my Ford for new tires and inspection. Great work and fair prices. Definitely a customer for life!

Did not get work done, asked about automatic trans work. They don't do CVT and they don't do Mitsubishi's. Says they are a master trans rebuild service but must be for trucks? Just posting to let others know you prolly need a domestic car for these guys.

Took my VW GTI 1.8t in for a transmission inspection. I got it free of charge. Was told no issues with my transmission. Because I was determined something was wrong, Norm went back for me to double check (still free of charge). Went out of his way to determine it was my clutch that needed replaced instead. Quoted me more than I wanted to hear but told me he'd recommend someone else to do the work anyways. Very honest people. I left without a dime out of my pocket. I will be a customer for life and will recommend the world of car buddies I know to you guys. Thanks again for great, friendly, and informative service.

Have had my last 2 vehicles in there and can honestly say I won't go anywhere else. Had my trans rebuilt in my accord for way less than any other place quoted and haven't had any issues in 18 months. I'll definitely go back next time I have an issue with my vehicles cause you can't buy experience or order it in the mail.

Called York Transmission about an issue with my trucks transmission. They gave me a quote over the phone, so I dropped it off the next day they called and told me what the problem was so I said go ahead and rebuild the transmission. They called me in two days and said your truck is done. Price was what they quoted, also a good warranty to go with it. I would highly recommend them. Thank you York Transmission for fixing my truck in a short time. Runs way better than it did.

I have two cars a 2007 Suburban and a 07 Cadillac CTS. The guys at York Transmissions were very professional. I had both of my vehicles serviced for the 100k mile check up and then a state inspection and emissions.Great communication with the work to be done and pick up was smooth!I have recommended this shop to several other friends and family.Great price, friendly staff and excellent workmanship on my vehicles!

Update Jan. 2020 - Once again we had a transmission issue with a vehicle in our fleet & York Transmission was able to get us back in service within 2 days very economically.Original Post -This was the 3rd company vehicle that I have taken to York Transmissions & the 3rd time they have exceeded my expectations. They have proven to take a thorough look at the problem and replace just the parts needed. Additionally, this last visit was with our plow & salt truck which they were sensitive to our quick turnaround needs and able to repair before the next winter event. Took my vehicle there and it sat for a week without being looked at. How do I know? Unbeknownst I drove my other vehicle by to check on it. Give me a date and time to drop it off then let it sit. No calls on progress. So after the week I call. Not only do they not remember me or the car(sitting right in front of the office window, and will not go into reverse) they don't know if it was even looked at. After being on hold I get "oh yea it needs a clutch" after being pretty sure it wasn't looked at? No grinding gears, slipping gears, nothing to suggest clutch but that it doesn't go into reverse..... So I ask how much to replace it, get quoted $750 plus. No thank you, website says "we don't guess".....could've fooled me. Take the car to another shop, they jump right in and right off the bat "clutch is fine that's not the problem". They tried to take a shot in the dark on a unecessary job, I would suggest a second opinion to anyone going there. Maybe they have satisfied customers or maybe these 5 star reviews are fabricated. Your "GUESS" is as good as mine. And before they respond with the "we haven't had a customer by your name in here" non sense, your the old Getty gas station with all the cars sitting around. Maybe all the cars sitting should've been a clue.......

My car is getting stuck in gears, the clutch vibrates and the resistance pressing the pedal fluctuates. In 1st gear from a stop it doesn't completely catch and bucks forward after going. I have to repeatedly press the clutcl petal when it gets stuck in a gear which happens at different times with different gears.So my brother dropped my car here while I was at work. After several days I called and they tell me they couldn't find anything wrong.. I explained what's been going on and he tells me he'd check for leaks. Several more days go by and I call in again and they still can't find anything wrong.I pickup my car and I'm told when it gets worse bring it back. I get in my car and I can't put it in reverse! I had to fight with it and it grind it into reverse while they were standing several feet away.I don't know if they didn't have time for me or if it's a pain to work on a car like mine but it was fairly obvious they didn't want to help me. I just don't know why they wouldn't come out and say so.

A FREE transmission diagnostic test? That's simply unheard of these days. Great service, great staff and fast turnaround time. Honestly, I hope that I'll never need them again but if I do, I won't go anywhere else.

I guess after paying a lump sum of money and have to buy your own parts and have copper tubing put on for your transmission cooling lines this would be the place to go!

Ok my sister got her car and it runs good but first off I just want to say that nobody was saying about you ripping her off of anything and your attitude was not very nice you should not have that type of attitude when someone was not even saying anything about ripping people off and for you to tell her to take her car some where else the next she needs work is not very professional and yes I would not tell anyone to go there with your type of attitude you should not be in that type of business so I am sorry if this post makes you mad but that was not a nice way to treat your payng customer

I constantly hear a dog on their porch on the second floor. Sounds like he s neglected. Someone should look into this.
