They had to put new wires in our car that a squirrel chewed. They charged us over $7.500 to repair it. We got it back the windshield wipers didn t work and the heat didn t work either. Then we took it back to them and they so called fixed it again. I took it home it kept miss firing. I took it back to them they told me it needed an EGR valve. I ask them how much to put one in for me. They said over $600.00 i said I ll take it to have another garage check it. The garage looked at it and it was a wire that wasn t put back in the spark plug right. The other garage said no charge. The car now runs like a champ. I will never go back to this over charging place again. They can t even get things right then to over charge you too.after I wrote this review they called me and complained about my review. If they keep calling I m going to have them arrested for harassment. Yes this means you Bryan. You should learn to try your work out before giving it back to the owner before they find out you didn t have the windshield wipers hooked up or heat. My wife had to drive to work as a nurse in a freezer car. I hope you re proud of your self Bryan!

Witmer is one of the most honest auto shops I ve been to. When the dealership almost failed my inspection, I took my jeep here to get a second opinion on the $700 motor mount that needed to be replaced. Brian and his team did a diagnostic and couldn t figure out why the dealership even recommended that since it was fine! I saved $700 and also got my brakes replaced for a fraction of the dealership s price. I m forever grateful and the customer service was A+ as well. I was provided a shuttle to and from my home while they worked on the car and Brian took his time to explain everything to me and even provided tire quotes so I could prepare to replace those in the near future.

They were able to fit me in for a last minute inspection, and I was so grateful (and the cost was more than reasonable)! The guys there were all very friendly, kind, polite, and respectful. My car has found a new home for any of my future service needs! Love this place!

They charged me $62 for a safety inspection and $160 for an exemption emissions. Very predatory if you don t know anything about cars. Front desk guy is very slow in my opinion. I can t comment much about service, as I wouldn t never take my car there for service, seeing how predatory they are with your cars issues

They were able to fit me in the same day for an inspection and emissions test. Bryan was very nice and explained everything to me in a way I understood and didn't pressure me to do more to my vehicle than it needed. Will be back for any service or repairs I need.

I would not recommend going here I came here for an inspection. I was told it was going to take no more than an hour. I was there for 3 hours. To add to this, I wasn t the only one waiting for this long. A male in the lobby with me was waiting for even longer after being told an hour. Another guy waited over a day and his diagnostic was still not done. I paid $180 because they charged over $70 for blinkers that I do not believe I even needed. To add to this, they charged me $44 for windshield wipers. The man infront of me was charged almost $300 after being quoted around $130. This place is a rip off and they do not value your time whatsoever. I do not recommend anyone goes here.

I recently moved to York from Baltimore. I was looking for place to keep my Truck well maintained. I happened to drive by Witmer Auto and ck it out. Brian was extremly friendly and helpful. So far i have been for my State Inp 2 x, 5 oil changes a cold air intake , an upgrade exhaust and a set of JBA headers. Great service each time. Super knowledgeable staff .

Great place to go very efficient and straight on there prices and why something cost a certain amount!!! I had a oil change, brake flush, tire rotation, alignment, transmission seal replace, shocks installed, and fluids filled on a Ram Promaster 2017 for a very reasonable price! Using them again and would recommend!

Very courteous, excellent service. Needed my car inspected and they came and picked it up at my home, no charge, inspected it and dropped it off for a very reasonable price. I am disabled and the free pickup and drop off was very surprising, thank you very much!!!

This is the only shop I ve taken classic/retro cars to that hasn t disappointed me one bit. I had an 86 corvette that was totaled in August of 2023 and I had 3 shops deine looking at it and one tell me the frame was trashed and couldn t be save but Whitmer and their crew discovered the frame was perfectly within spec and they fixed the car with an alignment and a few tie rod ends. As far as I m concerned they are the only show working on my corvette from now. I ve started taking my Fiero s there as well and they do great service with those odd little cars too. They are great people to deal with and they are always super helpful and quick to get me an appointment. Strongly recommend to anyone with classics, exotics, odd balls, etc

If you want a trustworthy guy who is very knowledgeable , Brian is that guy ! I've been looking for a good, honest, upfront mechanic for a while, and since I've found Witmer Automotive, I nowtake all of my vehicles to him.

Had to be at work at 12 so I dropped my car off at 10. The website said state inspections take 1 hour. 1.5 hours later I call multiple times to get a ETA but no one answered. I get there to be told it s still not ready but they need to just print out stickers so it ll be done soon. I let him know I have to be at work in 20 minutes 10 minutes later still not ready. After complaining again he wanted me to pay immediately without my car being in my possession. I literally had to leave in 30 seconds at this point. So it s kinda wild that you still expected payment when I just said I had to leave right now and knowing I can t pick my car up until the next day since they close during business hours at 5. If my boyfriend didn t give me his car I don t know what I would have done. I STILL ended up being 5 minutes late because of this incompetent business. Will NEVER go here again, so if you have things to do the day you book .dont come here because it took double the time it was suppose to

I was scheduled for a diagnosis on a high idle on a 1996 Ford F150. I also asked for an estimate to replace a window motor, headlight, and tailpipe. I already had these components. On 10-25-23, Witmer had my truck from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. and could not conclusively diagnosis the reason for the high idle. I was told they would send the estimate on the other repairs. They charged me $320.29 and did NOTHING. A week passed and I still did not have an estimate. When I called, Bryan told me that he would do the estimate and send it to me. Today is 1-5-24 and I have never received the estimate, no diagnosis, and no repairs. I took my truck to another shop in Baltimore. They diagnosed the issue, made the repair, gave me an estimate on the other repairs, and charged me $244.86. A scam? You tell me. I went there because of the reviews. Really?Bryan, I saw your response and you are full of it. I called you after a week. You NEVER called me! NEVER! You never left a message! You were supposed to email me. You never did. I was told that by the mechanic and by you. That is why you requested my email. You just now called me because you saw my review. That was the reason for your call. I did not answer because I was having supper. I have no desire to waste anymore time or money on Witmer!

Was in a car accident and due to supply chain issues, I wasn t able to get my car into the body shop quickly. The team at Witmer got me in replaced my tires and had me back on the road in no time. Ive come back and had my state inspection and emissions done as well. Very trust worthy mechanic and I feel good supporting a small local business.

I took my 2003 Honda Pilot to be inspected here. They were very thorough. I was given a list of problems and Bryan, the man who works the front desk, explained what each of the issues were in a way that I could understand. I m not very educated on automotive stuff. Bryan was respectful, knowledgeable, and had great customer service. I was given genuine advice and did not feel judged for my beater car. It is incredibly difficult to find a car repair shop like Witmer that operates with integrity and honesty, especially when you are a young female. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I will be bringing my new car here for inspections and general maintenance.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I had a great experience at Witmer Automotive! The appointment was easy to set up, Bryan and Clinton were very nice, I had come in for an oil change but they also were able to do an inspection for me (which I had missed was overdue!) and helped me renew my registration, all for a very reasonable cost. Bryan provided quotes and timelines for when I would need to get work done in the future, which was incredibly thoughtful. I will definitely be coming back, the whole experience was above and beyond!

Great guys. Took my Vette in to get an alignment and some tires put on. Clinton did a thorough job making sure everything was in spec. Very friendly and professional. I'd recommend Witmer auto to anyone looking for an honest, local shop.

I looked up auto repair places in the area because I was new and needed an inspection. Then I searched for ones with great reviews. I came across witmer automotive and immediately was attracted to it because of its name. I grew up off of Witmer road in Horsham Pa. Never did I think there'd be another street with the same interesting name. So I checked them out and got talking to Brian, the owner, and found he grew up on the same road but in York county. I was thinking this is so cool. Not only are the guys friendly and sociable, they do a fast and excellent job. He goes above and beyond what an owner would do (this after going to many other auto places and hearing stories), treating his employees like family. I was so pleased with my inspection appointment that I brought my car back for an oil change. I was taken the same day, in fact right after I walked in to see if there were any appointments for that day. I would highly recommend this place for any service and I will be back.And this cute Fiat 500L sits in the parking lot.

This is a great shop I really enjoyed getting my car fixed here the owner and employees are very knowledgeable and knew how to fix my Mercedes that has been to 3 different shops and told me I would need a new engine. I finally was told to have it towed to Witmer and in 3 days I was driving it home. I will be coming back for any further upkeep on any of my vehicles, Thank you Witmer Automotive!!

Hands down the most knowledgeable mechanics I ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Service time was exactly what was promised, staff were polite professional, and truly cared about their craft. There was no upselling or work done without consent. Hard to find a place that you can trust but this place is definitely one of them. Honest and straightforward with you, lets you know anything and everything possible that can be done,and what absolutely needs done.Definitely returning for future issues that I can't do myself. If you are ignorant to all things mechanical then go here. I been quite a few places in the past and they always tried to play on ignorance, but this place does not. A rare gem to be able to trust your mechanic so look no further, this place is it!

I like these mechanics if I get another car I'll take it to them. They like Toyotas. I saw some other trucks in there but they worked on the Toyota that I had. They weren't cheap but nobody is these days.

Great place! Always takes care of my automotive needs in a timely manner. Everyone I have encountered there is professional and very good at what they do. I have dealt with Brian most of the time. Good guy and fully explains what HAS to be done and also what NEEDS to be done. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Went to Witmer because I saw their 4.8 average Google reviews. Had an alignment done, camber adjusted, and they also did some minor suspension work in the rear of my car. I was very happy as they were able to get me in the very next day, got my car done in a few hours, and the price with parts and labor and sales tax was under $200.We also talked about tires and suspension, and within reason, they're pretty much willing to do most any aftermarket work the customer wants, as long as it makes good mechanical sense and doesn't negatively alter the car's performance. Will definitely go back to Witmer the next time I need work done.They are consummate professionals.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

Brian was super helpful. I had an appointment on Sat oct1st unfortunately wasn't able to make it but hopefully I can get in this week for a alignment and coilover adjustment on my 92 Subaru svx.
