Had a great experience with them. Owner was pleasant and personable. Got a used low mileage transmission for a fair price and it got done sooner than expected! Also got a warranty on the transmission. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend K&W Transmissions, Inc. for your vehicle. I say this unhesitatingly and in earnest if you are searching for and/or uncertain as to a shop to use for your vehicle. The level of customer care and service far exceeded what I ve experienced in years. They provided the absolute best service, customer care, sincerity, consideration, pricing, knowledge and explanation during my repairs. Dave called me the day after our departure to see that we made it safely home. Simply the best possible experience in an unfortunate event and for that I ll be eternally grateful.K&W was immediately recommended by another shop owner after my clutch went out while traveling on I80 in Pennsylvania. As soon as I recounted what had occurred with my vehicle, the initial owner I visited closest to my vehicle explained he sent all his transmission work to K&W. He then offered another option for me, while he contacted Dave and coordinated the towing.I am so incredibly thankful I opted for K&W being several hundred miles from home and not familiar with the shops whatsoever in Pennsylvania. Dave ordered the parts and began working on my vehicle as soon as he could. He ensured we had located somewhere to stay and worked diligently to get us back on the road safely and as quickly as he could. He had parts overnighted, kept me informed daily and updated me the instant he had more information regarding what he was discovering as he continued repairing my Wrangler as parts arrived. Initially when my vehicle was not drivable I began anticipating the cost with what knowledge I had. When I saw the final bill, it took a moment to compose myself as I was speechless, which one might notice by the length of this review it s obvious I m seldom at a loss for words.I cannot express enough how wonderful an experience it was to have met Dave and acquired an honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable shop I will continue to recommend and return to in the event any of my vehicles are in need of repair all the way from NYC. The distance is more than worth it confident I can rely on the integrity and skill of Dave and his staff. Many continued thanks my vehicle is running and driving even better than I imagined. Dave was recommended to me by the head mechanic at a motor carrier in the Williamsport area, so I brought him my 2009 Honda Civic that was on its death bed. I have a juddering engine, so by the time I needed a clutch, the input shaft bearing had also been destroyed and the transmission was no good. Dave sourced a salvage transmission and put the clutch kit in, and I was back on the road for way less than AAMCO or the dealership wanted. It's been two years and 40,000 miles since K&W did the work, and I'm still daily driving.

I called while waiting on a tow truck and the man I spoke with diagnosed my problem and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes. I was able to cancel the tow truck without charge. Excellent customer service. Thanks.

We had one of our work trucks transmissions rebuilt here. It was less than a week from drop off to pick up. The transmissions is working as it should. No problems. We will use their services again in the future.

I'm taking my Chrysler in Monday morning. He was nice enough to call me back when I left a message. Other places wouldn't have been able to see my vehicle for atleast a week and one place even said two weeks. The mechanic I normally use recommended me to this place . The reason I'm already giving 5 stars is because of the courtesy I was given. After reading all of the reviews, I trust my van will be in good hands.

I decided to explore my options for transmission repair expenses, and in an interesting turn of events, I accidentally inflated the previous garage's quote. Despite Ammco's genuine estimate falling within the range of $3,500 to $4,200, I boldly informed K&W Auto Repair that it was an exorbitant $5,000. Astonishingly, K&W swiftly matched this inflated figure, claiming they too would charge $5,000 for the job. It's vital to note that Ammco's actual quote was far from the $5,000 I stated. It was, in fact, $3,500 to $4,200. The fact that K&W not only adopted this misinformed amount but also didn't hesitate to replicate their unethical pricing tactics is both frustrating and disappointing. Their willingness to perpetuate deception is truly disheartening.

Dave built a th400 for me for a custom classic 4x4 International build I was doing. The transmission worked flawlessly! It shifted better than the transmission did new. Our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan GT, just 4,000 miles over warranty was shifting hard, had delayed shifting and would shudder at certain speeds.Took to a Dodge dealership in Lewisburg, their diagnostics showed transmission seal problem and told us the transmission needed replaced. 3,500 plus tax.This didn't sound right to me so I started talking with some mechanics I know and doing some research on this van, we kept coming up with torque converter and shift solenoids. Seems to be a common problem with this van.One of the mechanics I know suggested we take it to K & W Transmission Service.Dave got us in, gave a call later in the day and told us he was pretty sure it was the torque converter and recommended the shift solenoids be replaced too. Estimated at about $1000.After talking with Dave, I trusted his diagnostics over the dealership.We had the van back after 2 business days and it's been running great.Thanks Dave and the other mechanics working at K&W!Service: Transmission

We were driving across PA when our car started having problems right outside Williamsport. Turns out every mechanic within 40 miles was booked for days, and as it was a problem with the transmission we had even fewer options. Luckily we were near K&W Transmissions, and Dave was able to squeeze us in after learning we were from out of town. He was even able to get the car diagnosed, the part picked up, and the car fixed the same day to get us back on the road ASAP. Additionally, he was very proactive about limiting contact due to Covid. We appreciate his professionalism, hard work, and reasonable prices and wholeheartedly recommend this business. Thank you Dave.

Dave and the rest of the guys are phenomenal! They ve had my mazda 3 times now, and each time have had it in and out with a day or 2. They ve never steered us wrong, and have always gone above and beyond to get our car back up and running. 10/10 would recommend them to anyone.

When our transmission failed on our way thru PA, we ended up Williamsport. After reading the reviews for K&W, we went to the shop and found the good reviews to be true. Dave and the crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Our vehicle issues ended up being complicated and our warranty company difficult, but Dave willingly worked thru it and put up with my constant calls. After bringing the vehicle home, he even followed up with a phone call to make sure we arrived safely.

I can't say enough how much I appreciate Dave and his work. As we were returning to New York from a vacation in Virginia our transmission in our 1994 Chevrolet Suburban completely went out on us, a family of 8, right in South Williamsport before the bridge. Thankfully, it was 4pm so I called a local transmission shop with good reviews. Dave answered the phone, recommend a local towing company and said he would begin the 3 day task first thing in the morning. I picked up the Suburban today and we returned home safe and sound. Dave called this evening just to make sure we arrived home and were happy with how the Suburban drove. Pricing is standard for transmission rebuilds but the customer service was outstanding. If you need a transmission rebuild (and hopefully you don't) call Dave at K&W Transmissions.

Dave was exceptional. I thought I had a transmission problem that was going to cost me $$$$$. But he double checked the entire car and found a bad wheel bearing instead. He flushed out my transmission though too. He did not do a SINGLE thing without advising me of the price, which I appreciated. I'll definitely go back (if I have to!)

Found myself stranded this morning while traveling through Williamsport shaking my head because I thought I had just blown a transmission. I got towed to K&W Transmission because I read good reviews and boy they were spot on. Dave and his team quickly diagnosed my problem as a driver side cv shaft that had popped out, recently installed by me . They replaced it and had me back on the road in no time. If I m ever in the area and need work done this is the shop I will use!

I had a transmission replaced in Sept 2017, today (jan 2019) I had a problem with the same transmission. I took it to them and explain the issues and even though it was past its warranty by several months they fixed the problem at no charge and no labor costs. These guys stand by their work and treat you right. They went above and beyond my expectations, they were kind and courteous, and had it done in a day! I highly recommend them! Thank you guys!!!!

Our SUV broke down on the first day of vacation and we thought for sure that it was the transmission and maybe the end of the road for this vehicle with 180,000 plus miles. We googled a few repair places and looked at the franchises but this one K&W Transmissions, a smaller place, with great reviews and exceptional responsiveness,( in a emergency!) ended up being the answer to our prayers. Dave was smart, accurate and found that the transmission was not the problem, but instead, was the transfer case. We called him, he responded quickly, he figured out what the problem was, ordered the part, got the part in the next day, dedicated resources and fixed the car/ AND had it ready as soon as humanly possible. The bill was less than expected, the work exceptional and the car ran like a charm for the long trip ahead. I told him that we thanked God for finding K&W and for turning this emergency crisis into a time of greatfulness for the good people that you meet along the way! This placed saved my butt in a jam. I'm rebuilding a 4l60e trans myself (never done one before) and broke my trans pump so I ordered a new one and it didn't come with the sealing rings. The tool to put them on is 120.00. Gave these guys a call and they agreed to help me out and put two rings on for me!! Dealt with a guy by the name of Dave and he even gave me some helpful advice on how to properly install the pump in my trans. Would definitely reccomend these guys to anyone needing transmission work in the williamsport and surrounding areas. Would be well worth it to travel a little to know your vehicles transmission issues will be solved correctly the first time. Thanks K&W Transmission!!!!

I called Dave and asked him if he could check out my car, it had been shaking and stuttering with acceleration for quite some time, and I had been avoiding fixing it thinking it needed a new transmission. He test drove it and in 5 minutes of driving it told me it wasn't my transmission and he wanted to check my tires. He asked if we had been replacing the tires 2 at a time instead of all 4 and I said yes, he told me that all wheel drive cars have to have the tires changed all 4 at a time, and mine really needed changed. So I took his advice, got 4 new tires, and my car runs like it is brand new.

I own a 2011 Caravan with low mileage and I was having problems with the transmission shifting. On the way to K&W it stopped shifting and stayed in one gear. These guys were able to replace the trans and have me back on the road in just a few days with a 3 year unlimited mileage guarantee.

They rebuild the rear differential for my Ford pickup. They did a very professional job and are very friendly to work with. If you ever have problems with your vehicles differential, I recommend that you have Dave and his crew do the work.

Broke down in Williamsport Pa., with a transmission issue. Contacted K&W for help. Dave told me he could help me right away because I was from out-of-town. As it turned out I was was able to continue on to Baltimore without needing K&W. Dave called me the following day to check on me. Great follow up & professionalism. I would highly recommend K&W if you re in the Williamsport Pa. area & need transmission work.

I highly recommend K&W for excellent transmission diagnostics and service. (They also offer a 1 year warranty on rebuilt transmissions, which is exceptional!)
