As long as these guys are in business they ll be my mechanic. I drive cheap old cars that are always falling apart and they ve managed to keep them on the road for me. Brian is great and takes the extra time to actually explain the problems. Being a single girl I feel like so many mechanics try to take advantage of me but I truly believe Brian is super honest and doesn t try to get you to spend any unnecessary money. They can be busy but he still always manages to get things done in a timely fashion

I needed a place within walking distance to my office to fix my tire. They squeezed me in same day, had it done within a couple of hours and didn't seem to mind that I brought my dog in with me. Couldn't be happier!

Lament taught me almost everything I know as a mechanic. Thanks to him I have had a very successful career. I was very close to giving up fixing cars when I started working there. I have met some really terrible mechanics in my 19 years as a tech, and as a service manager. Lament is top notch! If I lived in Wayne I would bring my car here. Brian was an excellent mechanic years ago and I imagine he has only become the best. Definitely trust these guys with your car! They are honest and just good human beings!!

Lament s Auto is the best of the Main Line in auto repair. Jim, Brian, and their whole team go above and beyond. They explain necessary repair work at your level of understanding, they re reasonably priced, very communicative, and readily available. I found my new mechanic. Laments doesn't just tell me what needs repairing - they tell me how much it will cost, what alternatives there are, and whether or not it can wait, and they let me make my own decisions regarding repair. I haven't experienced this at any other repair shops, but it's my new standard.Very polite, relatable staff, and a general easy-going atmosphere about the place. They take a lot of stress out of the stressful situation of needing car repairs. Also, they saw me with less than 24 hours notice. Great service, great advice, great people.

Both times I've gone to Laments they've been fair, courteous, and upfront about the work and its costs. They always take the time to actually explain the parts to me, which I really appreciate - being the daughter of a car guy, I like to know exactly how the car is broken and make sure I understand the fix. I don't even have to ask here, Laments wants everyone to know more about their vehicles and the problem at hand.Today, when I went thinking the brake pads were bad on my new car, they looked at it, determined the actual problem could be covered under my car's warranty, and advised me on how to contact and get set up with my local dealer. When it came time to pay, they didn't charge me a thing - and walked me through exactly what WAS wrong so I could get the dealer to do the right work. Even though I had moved away from the area and the trip to Laments was out of the way, I am so glad I stuck with this service - they have real integrity that inspires great customer loyalty!

This should be your mechanic if you don t want to get ripped off. Estimate was $800 cheaper than another place down the street and they held true to it. Brian will tell you like it is so you have a good understanding of options. I highly recommend! Hard to find an HONEST mechanic but I did.

When my car needed some repairs, I looked all around the area, and even visited a few mechanics. After feeling uncomfortable at the others, I knew from the moment I drove up to Laments that this was the one. The staff at Laments are courteous and extremely knowledgeable! I worked with Rob, who, through the use of ingenuity, was able to forgo replacing a part and saved me a lot of money. He checked out the rest of the car, and spotted some other problems. He called every time to explain the problem and check whether I wanted the repair.The bottom line: The staff at Laments is friendly, prompt, and not trying to rip you off. I would highly recommend them.

LaMent's is a great auto shop. I took my beat up old Acura there for regular oil changes and checkups and they helped me keep it running long past its prime. They always explained things fully and never minded my tons of not very car knowledgeable questions. They would let me know if something needed to be fixed right away for safety or if I could wait a bit. I wish I still lived nearby because a car mechanic you can trust is hard to come by.

Our family has relied on Laments for years. They are very responsive, knowledgeable and always fair. More recently Jim and his team have done all the work on my wife's BMW. Couldn't be more satisfied. Thanks!

Jim & crew do good, honest work at a fair price - bottom line. No rip-offs, using bad parts, inflating prices, talking down to females, etc. On occasion if you have a time issue, Jim will try to accommodate you in every possible way, his work schedule permitting. Try him for your next inspection or oil change & see what you think...

A few months ago, my boyfriend and I were in the area for a quick visit. The day before we were supposed to head home to Michigan, we couldn't start our car. I called several mechanics and dealerships in the area and none of them were willing to even listen to the problem I was having with my car - they just told me they couldn't help me with such short notice. Finally, I called Laments and not only were they courteous and helpful, they made time to see me that very day. Knowing the predicament that I was in (being a female with minimal mechanical knowledge and needing the car fixed ASAP because I was hundreds of miles from home) they could have definitely taken full advantage of it, but instead they were completely honest and only charged me the $10 it took to fix it. I wish I lived closer because I'd definitely make them my regular mechanics!

Responsive, not too rushed, but they're pretty on-time. I've used them for older VWs, an Audi, and a Volvo too--so they're good with the euro brands. Straight shooters, and they give you options (eg: fix this now, or come back later, not urgent)

We have been using Jim for over 30 years and have had nothing but good, honest and upfront service. We have tried other shops (as we no longer live in Wayne) but have found them to be less than reliable nor honest. It is worth the extra drive/time for the good service.

Fast and reliable service, super friendly, honest, and knowledgeable staff. I've been taking my 2005 toyota for the past 3 years and am always impressed with the service and quick turnaround. They are very thorough with their work and prices are reasonable - highly recommended!

LaMent's, and specifically, Jim and his number one master mechanic, Brian Shields, has been the epitome of honesty and excellence, helping me with issues ranging from yearly state inspection and emission work, to finding, detailing and selling pre-owned (3 over fifteen years), autos to me, or selling a car for me - buying and/or selling at an extremely fair price.The most important, and seemingly, otherwise impossible to find, aspect of this owner, his top mechanic, the overall business, is the ultimate trust that has prevailed since first being a dedicated customer, in 1975. The people at Laments are honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy. They explain the work at each step and the customer does not end up surprised by the cost or how the repair turned out. I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

Extremely knowledgeable mechanics. They give a clear explanation of work done. The work is done on time, and fairly priced. And honesty is most important. I highly reccommend Laments.

The service is fast and uncomplicated. They don t talk you into repairs and services that you do not want or that you do not need. This seems to be an honest auto repair shop.
