Terrible communication. This garage back in oct had my car for a new transmission under warranty. Ever since it s been back up there every other week, I ve been paying for a rental now for three weeks. Joe gave me money for a rental for two days, meanwhile it s their fault I can t even drive my car. Joe avoided me for almost two weeks. When I called the garage out on their shadiness, they locked the doors and boarded up their windows with boxes. Bill said that Joe just does what he wants and doesn t show up to work when Joe knew that my car was broke down AGAIN after being in their shop. I had to have my car towed out of there. I am still paying for a rental they should be covering. Bill also refused my car back to me because he said he could not reach over his head to put the transmission back in, Sparky then came into work and suddenly my car wouldn t go into park. I think this garage should be held accountable for the poor service they provided and also be covering my rental due to their mistakes, no communication and shady acts. Photo below shows the windows they boarded up and the other ones shows they were not that morning.

When the clutch on my truck started to fail on the PA Turnpike in the middle of a road-trip, I was nervous that I wouldn t be able to find a mechanic at all, let alone a good one. Joe immediately took the truck in, figured out what was wrong with it, and got to work. He even recommended a hotel and gave me a lift there. He communicated clearly throughout the repair and was honest about costs and what needed to be done (and didn t). Highly recommended if you find yourself in Washington, PA!

I was charged $1800 dollars to have my transmission rebuilt and come to find out from another employee there that all they replaced was what it needed it failed 2 weeks later, had it towed back and that's where it has set for the last year. When I call Bill tells me that I need to talk to the owner but says he's never there he's out riding his $10,000 KTM dirt bike so now I'm going to the local magistrate and get this settled. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone which is a shame because their mechanic is top notch (sparky) the only good person there. I have lost my job due to this and haven't been able to get a job with no transportation. I will update my review after this is settled. Tomorrow I am contacting the local media to get this out so no one else gets ripped off by this fly by night ahop

I do not recommend that anyone goes here. They lied to me and are very dishonest. My transmission is worse now than it was when I took it in. Do not trust the aamco name because they are also of no help, all they could tell me is that there is nothing they can do cause each shop is "independently owned". What a joke.

Is your transmission slipping? Does your engine have a knock? These guys tackle the big jobs that other places won't take. The owner Joe, Bill and sparky are all great people!

I was visiting family in Washington, PA from out of town and developed what I thought was a transmission fluid leak that extended my stay. I had my car towed to this location and I was sick to my stomach because I just wanted to get home to Buffalo, NY. The guys at the shop were understanding of my situation and were able to assess my car quickly. Fortunately, my fluid was just overfilled so they removed a bunch of fluid and on my way home I went. I appreciated their kindness and would 100% recommend them for their integrity and treating an out of towner well.Service: Transmission

The guys themselves were very nice, but they absolutely should have told me my car was going to fail all state inspections before I replaced the entire transmission for $4000. Why the heck did they not stop me from renovating that piece of junk when they had to have seen its condition first hand before install?!?? I would have never paid $4k if I knew it was going to need so many more repairs after that.Huge waste of money they could have prevented.

I took my truck to Joe because he's been honest with me as long as I've known him. Hopefully he can figure out my differential issue.

These guys, especially Bill, have been absolutely amazing and are some of the best people I've met! When my car broke down, I asked around for who would be best to take it to in the Washington area and these guys were recommended hands down. So, I had my car towed here, and parked on the outside of the lot to make it easier to get in. While I was in the shop chatting with them, giving my information, handing my key over, and waiting for my ride to show up, someone slammed into the side of my car. This was unbeknownst to me and anyone else in the shop. My ride then showed up, we saw the other person's car in bad shape, but she waved us on when we stopped.I got home and received a call from them stating that my car was hit and the person left their insurance info. They were cool with letting my car there for a week until the insurance company assessed it, I was able to arrange a meeting with my agent, and get the things out of my car. Not only were they pleasant, prompt, honest, and easy for me to work with, my insurance company told me repeatedly that they were "gems to work with" in helping with the situation and vehicle storage. In addition to all of that, when I realized I forgot to take my plate off after meeting with my agent, I called them and asked them to take it off for me before it got towed away forever. Bill was happy to do that and has been holding it for me for a week while I figure out how and when I can get back there since I've been without a car due to screw ups with my bank not submitting a car loan properly. If you notice some of the bad reviews, take them with a grain of salt. I spoke to the guys at the shop about how they had some bad luck with hiring people in the recent past that they thought were good, but turned out to have poor quality control and got rid of them. Their reputation means a lot to these guys and there's a reason that Aamco is still a respected name.P.S. I thought I posted this nearly a week ago, but it didn't save our something, so I rewrote it and updated the timings.

This is by far the best auto shop i have ever done business with, they take actual care of you and treat you like family. I have used them for every vehicle repair of mine and i always have my vehicle back in the same day or the very next morning, they get it in and get it out and they dont stretch their labor to charge more like other garages. I will continue to come here time and time again. 5 stars for great customer service, fast and efficient work, and all around ethic.

Travel nightmare - 1500 miles from home and check engine light comes on and car goes into limp mode. I pull into the shop mid-afternoon and Bill immediately pulls a guy aside to diagnose - solenoid code if nothing else looks bad when they drop the pan. Bill gets the part ordered immediately to be installed first thing in the morning. He was good to his word. It was ready by noon and he found no other issues. The AAA discount was applied with no issues. It is now evening 500 miles down the highway and the truck is running smoothly all afternoon - quality work by the mechanic Joe. Bill was professional in presenting all the possibilities and did his utmost to get an out-of-towner back on his way. They provided the best possible outcome to a bad situation.Service: Transmission

Nice people. Cared about quality of fixing my issue. I had oil leaking that was first quoted as a gasket change. When they found out there were other issues they still honored their original quote and offered to pay for a rental while they fixed it. Honest and caring. I will use them again.Services: Transmission, Oil changeServices: Transmission, Oil change

I dropped my truck off today to get a lift kit installed. I called them at 10am and they said to bring it by. They did an excellent job for it being a last minute thing. I couldn t be happier with the install. My alignment was perfect and everything looks great. These dudes are awesome mechanics.

Can't believe we dropped almost $6000 to have a transmission leak fixed. Although we understand we have a large truck with a diesel engine, one would believe at that price it would be running like new. Unfortunately, the first attempt to pickup the vehicle ended with us needing to leave the vehicle because the work wasn't completed properly. Fifty miles later we had to return the truck because it wouldn't go over 40 miles per hour. Reason? Possible fuel issue. Feeling raked over the coals. Let's see what the final diagnosis is. Pretty sure it's going to end with them needing more money to fix an issue it didn't have initially. Funny how we were asked to pickup the truck as soon as possible because they needed the money. Be honest and admit you did something wrong. If they decide to do the right thing, I will be sure to provide an update.

I bought a used dodge nitro about 3 months ago when the transmission stopped working. Went to the dealership that sold me the vehicle and they said they could not do anything because they weren t a dodge place. The dodge place I went to was going to charge me an arm and a leg. I called here asking if I could order a used transmission to their shop and the cost for installation. Bill, on the other end of the line, said yes and gave me the price but then asked what was going on. He took the time to look at my car for free than even took the step of taking out my transmission and taking it apart for free to give me an estimated rebuild cost. He was willing to work with me for different prices options. He also gave them very detailed descriptions of everything and clearly explained my options, which was great because the other places hadn t what so ever. Once I decided the repair I wanted, he had my transmission fixed within the week. Throughly impressed! They have my business for as long as I m in the area

Long story short... they had my truck for ten days (said would be done next day), and tried charging me $860 for a $230 (book time) simple external part replacement. I asked SEVERAL times for them to give me an estimate and NOT perform work until I know how much it will cost; they did the work WITHOUT my authorization and tried charging me $860.00.Details:This is my third visit to this shop, first two seemed a bit high, but I didn't say anything. I brought a 2006 Saab 97x in with a drive-train issue. These are supposed to be transmission and drive-train experts. As I dropped it off I asked "are you busy, can you get to this quickly", they replied "yes, we can have it done tomorrow". Over the next TEN DAYS (for a 45 minute fix) they cannot tell me what is wrong or how much it will cost. Finally they say they think its the transfer case motor. BUT STILL FAIL TO TELL ME HOW MUCH IT WILL COST BEFORE THEY DO THE WORK EVEN THOUGH I CALLED AND ASKED SEVERAL TIMES AND DIRECTED THEM NOT TO PERFORM ANY WORK UNTIL I GET AN ESTIMATE.The transfer case motor is the most common thing to fail, its on the OUTSIDE of the transfer case. Is a $130 part and requires about 45 minutes to change and the "book time" is 1.2 hours (@ $95 per hour). THIS SHOULD BE ABOUT $238.00. If a shop charges for diagnostic time that is up to another 1.0 hours per the book. This shop tried to charge me $860.00 for $238.00 repair. When I asked why they are charging so much for a simple external repair they said they "didn't know it was the transfer case motor at first and tore the transfer case apart" and I got charged for the labor, seal kit, fluid and parts for the tear down and rebuild. Are you kidding me? Your EXPERT mechanic failed to try the FIRST thing that the Chilton's says to check THEN YOU TEAR APART A PERFECTLY GOOD TRANSFER CASE AND CHARGE ME FOR IT? The shops reply was simply "that's the way we do it here".They tried to charge me $860 for a $230 repair then not so graciously offer to take $50 off. I tell them to keep it and I will contact the attorney general or consumer protection. They then REFUSE to charge what the book and part repair would be and not so graciously take it down to $500 for the repair... OH YEA I GET TO PAY THE TAX. $530 for a $230 repair.I told them on several occasions I wanted to know about how much it was going to cost BEFORE the work was done. What do they do? Ignore my request and charge me $860 for a $230 repair.I will NEVER use this shop again and am extremely sorry I had clutch on another car replaced here.Update: my father in law just had the transfer case motor replaced in his 2008 Chevy truck at another shop and the total bill was under $200.00.

I can t say enough about AAMCO! They fit me right in very quickly, did the diagnostics for me and let me know what was wrong (same day!) even though they wouldn t be able to repair it. On top of that they did not charge me for the diagnostic service! Thank you AAMCO!Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

I stopped for an oil change down the road but they noticed a bad leak and sent me to aamco first before the oil change. Dennis and his staff took my car in on a busy day with no problem. They quickly diagnosed my car and right they took their time and told me the honest truth about what was wrong. They not only fixed the problem but they researched it first with Cadillac they didnt just go off of what they saw and that made all the difference in what was wrong and what to do. On top of it all they did my oil change and did I for less than the other place was going to charge me. You have a new customer for life. Thank you for caring

My rebuilt transmission lasted less than 13 months. They honored the warranty, but it took them over two weeks to completed. Never called me one time. I had to call them daily for an update. Told me they would drop it off at my house because it too so long, but when it was finally done, they backed out of that end of the deal. Also no paper work on the second transmission. I have no record of the work they performed.

Went there to fix my turbo charger out of my buick. They took a little longer than I thought but they guaranteed good results and that is what I got. I recommend them to all. Bill is a friendly character.

These guys are scam artists.I waited 2 weeks for an "official" part to come in, then an additional 2 weeks for them to even get it put in. They refuse to work on the weekend despite Saturday hours on their website and etched to the door - which makes it impossible for the average 8-5 worker to get there to pick up or drop off a vehicle. They had me pay over the phone, trusting work had been correct, and refusing to take a coupon right on their own website, stating they already gave me a "hook up, buddy", even though they were about 5% more than several places I had called around to.When I received my car, it was FILTHY dirty and disgusting with oil and mud caked all through it, reeking of gas and oil - so much so, that my palms were nearly pitch black with grime. To top it off, the car's service and emergency lights were all lit, meaning something was clearly wrong. I couldn't do anything seeing as I had paid over the phone, picking up my car after they had closed (early at that..) and no one was answering the phone. The next day, I spent all morning trying to find answers online and from other mechanics as to what was going on - all while still not being able to get a hold of the AAMCO people. Finally (after coming in late) they decided to call me, asking if something was wrong... Uh... yes??? They explain that they just FORGOT to put my KNOCK SENSOR back in my car!! I had to take it back AGAIN (this is going on almost 3 weeks at this point, and taking time off of work, as well as a 30 minute drive without traffic) just to have them tell me they had NO CLUE as to what was wrong, blaming me for the service lights, not apologizing for the disgusting state of my car, and telling me to bring it back AGAIN and drop it off for a few days till they figure it out!!!These guys are unprofessional, sub-par mechanics AT BEST. I filed a BBB report with them, in which they were found guilty on all accounts (provided photos etc) - and I received a nasty letter from the guy at AAMCO, calling me a liar and dramatic, claiming I should be HAPPY that they fixed the part I originally came in for... what a JOKE.

They were to busy for my car after it was towed there. I was told they don't like dealing with triple aaa after my tower told me that this was the best place to take my car for repairs. I called them the next day to see if they had any chance of looking at it and was told no, I can't get to your car because he had way to many cars already on his lot and they got fined for having so many. So I just said I will just get it towed somewhere else and was told by him thank you for getting your car outta here I'm sorry but thank you. So I will never deal with these people ever again. Bad experience for me.

These guys do quality work at a very fair price. I will no londer deal with any other. I've tolerated a lot of "sub par" mechanics in my time, and these guys just don't fit that bill. They have come through on large and small jobs time and time again. Talk to Dennis. He will get you going again!

Dropped my rig off on Wed. evening, spoke to the friendly guys Thurs. morning. They had my truck in early, fixed (6.5 labor hours, it wasn't fix-a-flat) by the time I got off work and I picked it up...clean. Good prompt service, seems to have so far fixed the problem.

My van had to be towed to AAMCO due to a massive transmission leek. Dennis and the guys weren't sure they would be able to get to it till the next day. By 5pm the same day I was puling out of their garage. The job was done right, earlier than I thought and for a great price. If your need transmission work look no further.
